Ok got the JB update what's REALLY different?? - Motorola Atrix HD

Just wondering cause I don't see a big change. Actually I only see one or two to be honest.

Play store Google now. Do it!at home screen swipe right. And a lot of it is based on refinement of android behind the scene all together. Think butter on bread
Sent from my MB886

Anyone else notice how much smoother the multitasking screen loads? It's probably the biggest performance improvement I've discovered so far. It was always pretty laggy for me in ICS.

I notice that when you kill apps it alot faster as you swipe away.

Its the same as the leak when there are issues that need to be fixed. Very disappointed in Motorola for blowing off Matt's serious points and acting as if they are unimportant. I'll be running batakang until we get CM or until the Nexus 4 actually is in stock lol

Loving it except the damn ATT bloatware.

How do you do this? The only app I was able to disable was that race car game. There is no option to disable most of the bloatware. Do I need to uninstall bloatware updates first?

Cool, thanks!

I may be missing it, but how do you access Google Now from the lock screen? Unfortunately, you still can't change the lock screen targets (which is just stupid), and Google isn't in the normal top position like it is on other JB phones with the ring on the lock screen.
I really don't get not allowing the user to decide the lock screen targets. I don't use the stock messaging app, but I can't change the target to open Handcent, so that a useless target I have sitting there.

Other notification options...?

Hello,
My cousin has upgraded from a feature phone to a droid 3, but she hates the way her notifications appear. What app or apps could she use to give her more options. Any recommendations?
Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I know that some of you have a lot of experience, so please drop a line or two and give me a tip. Please and thank you.
You can't really change the way notifications come in...

Pretty much all i know of at the moment.

[TUTORIAL] Simple fix to remove stock scrolling lag Nexus 7

I just found a really great simple way to remove 90% scrolling lag on JB 4.x.x ROM's. All you have to do is:
- Open Google Currents
- Go to Settings
- Disable background sync
- Et voila, pretty much complete lag free scrolling!
I noticed a HUGE difference and made my device nice and snappy again...
Hope that helps. If it does, hit the thanks button

Has someone been able to activate multitasking on a rooted kindle fire hd?

I have been searching for about three days and all I could find was people saying that a new one cant. Without having to use a custom rom is it able to add multitasking that amazon removed back on a rooted kindle fire HD?
Sent from my KFTT using xda app-developers app
It depends on what you mean by "multitasking". If you are talking about the ability to switch between apps without losing everything...it already does that. Any time you move away from an app, it goes into suspend mode and is stored in cache. In suspend mode, the app is no longer running code, therefore there is no processing being done on it until it is called back again. It's not really "multitasking" in the truest sense but that's how ICS does it.
On the other hand, if you're talking about the "history" button, that brings up a list with screenshots of your recent apps in their suspended state...the 2G KFs do not have that feature.

Maps wake locks are back=(

Does anyone know what I can turn off on maps location settings so that Google Now will still tell me where I am and bring up the same cards (i.e. The weather in the address I'm in, how long it will take to get back home, places to check in, etc.)?

Pretty much, yes. Also if you turn off everything under Location, you will not have to worry about that much anymore. There are ways to completely freeze or remove Google Now from your device, just use Google and you'll find many articles regarding this.

I don't want to remove Google Now. That's the whole point. I wanna lessen the Maps wake locks but still get the same Google Now functionality.

Is "Hide navigation bar per app" still there?
Hi, I've just bought the LG GFlex today. My D955 comes with JB 4.2.2.
I do really love the feature that let me hide the navigation bar per app, I find it extremely useful.
I'm really curious to know whether this setting is still available into the new KitKat update.
Reading that the LG G Pro 2 having already KitKat doesn't have it, although it has a software nav bar, I'm wondering whether this feature is incompatible with KitKat due to its full screen API.
Those of you who already updated their GFlex can please answer this question?
Thanks
I am also interested in this question.
Some have the 4.4.2, could give us the answer.
Thank you.

I'm curious as to if google wallet tap and pay finally works. I may be completely mistaken, but on KitKat, I don't believe you need the secure element like you did on older android versions. Not having tap and pay is one of my few complaints about this phone.

anybody with same problem?.

I'm replying to myself, the problem comes from swiftkey app (swipe keyboard), after unistall it the error message gone. Maybe a compatibilty issue with KitKat.
I left the solution here for further reference.

Crap. I miss that coming from my old Galaxy Nexus. I figured as soon as I got on a carrier phone, it would be blocked because they have that worthless pile of garbage Isis as their own.
Hi again guys, after update to 4.4 I'm having very heavy battery problems. I lost around 20% of autonomy, I already check startup software without results, anyone in same situation?.

kitkat update, looking good
Got my kitkat update yesterday (I'm in the UK with an f340 model). Things I've noticed so far:
Text does look sharper (different font?).
Home screen now available in portrait.
Better way of handling apps in full screen (before there was a small arrow at the bottom of the screen to show the soft keys if you'd chosen to hide them for selected apps. Now you swipe up to show the soft keys - definite improvement).
You can hide the volume and/or brightness sliders in the notification pull down.
You can now say OK Google when you launch Google by swiping up the home key.
Signal strength, and other information in the status bar at the top are now white/light grey (I've already forgotten if they were green before!)
Love this phone!
