Connect USB to PC - Galaxy Camera Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Adam,
I saw your video at youtube on how to root the Samsung Galaxy Camera so I thought maybe you could help me with my problem here.
This is what happened. I have deleted a bunch of my photos from my camera that I would like to retrieve.
I connected my Samsung Galaxy Camera to my PC what I see is EK-GC100 as a scanner or camera. See the attached file. What I want is the camera to work as the removable drive so that I can't have e: or f:. In that case, I can retrieve deleted files using Photo Recovery software. The problem is I try so many times and way, I still can't put it on disk drive mode. All the photo recovery software can't detect any drive from my Samsung Galaxy Camera and therefore, I can't do any scanning to retrieve my photos.
Do you think you can help? Please ..... thank you.

I have the exact same problem - the recovery programs won't recognize the camera, and it makes no difference whether its connected as a media unit (MTP) or a camera (PTP).
I have installed Kies, but it makes no difference.
Any suggestions will be welcome.
Thank you

[Q] S3 mini advice/help !

Hi all,
Got the s3 mini, no root, just plain stock. Running windows 7 on my pc, when I plug the s3 mini into pc via usb cable, the s3 mini shows up as a device rather than a drive, anyway to change this please ?
Reason is, I want to try and recover pictures I lost.
Try selecting the "camera" option.

Tried that, just the same, thanks though
Somewhere I read that holding the home key while connecting with computer will solve this. . . .

AFAIK you can't make the internal storage appear as a drive to the computer so that you can use programs to do recovery that needs low level access on the drive. That applies to most (all?) phones. The difference is that S3 mini doesn't even connect the external miniSD card as a drive to the computer, so you'll need to take it out, buy a card reader for 5 euros and connect it that way to the computer.
Ok, thanks. Its photos on the phone that are missing, done the sd card already. Looks like there gone now.

You are wrong.
Connect the phone with pc via usb and enable MTP way.
You can see internal AND external SD card

[Q] Time-Lapse Camera on a hat?

Experts,
I’m trying to think about how can I continuously record a two days hiking trip as a time-lapse video using my mobile device.
There are few Apps in the play store that I could use to do this (time lapse) , but the software is not the problem.
My concern is the hardware.
I thought I might try to somehow attach my Note2 to a baseball hat, but I don't think that is practical.
Not only I would look funny with a note2 attached to my forehead, but I will need to use my phone for other stuff.
Then, I found out that there are apps that I could use to connect an external usb camera (i.e. webcam) , this way I could leave my phone in my pocket and use it while it is connected by a cable to the external Camera. But, I don't think that those apps will let me use other Time-lapse camera recording apps. And if I connect an external Camera, then the usb port will not be available to charge my phone with my portable 12800mah charger (remember two days of recording) !!.
Any ideas ..thought?
regards,
The closest thing I found was a Looxcie bluetooth camera, but it looks like you cant do timelapsed video with that.
Just a thought, have you considered a GoPro? I dont know if they can to timelapsed either???

This forum is specific to the Samsung Galaxy Camera and not Samsung phones or phone camera questions in general.
If anyone can help then all good but you might find your answers in a different forum.
Late with a reply and perpetuating a non-Galaxy Cam related thread, but I would just get a GoPro knock-off like the SJ4000. You can pick one up for under $100 and it comes with underwater casing, mounts, etc. Photos aren't the best quality, but the video is seriously comparable to the genuine GoPro. I use my SJ4000 for a kayak fishing and as a dashcam and couldn't be happier, especially when it's literally 1/3-1/4 the price of a GoPro.
Lapse it on playstore

[Q] lost my videos

hello all
I just got back from holiday, I have Samsung galaxy camera gc100, I connected the camera to my pc using USB cable then opened the camera folder then went to DCIM folder then cut the camera folder from there and paste on my desktop (I always do it this way, never had problems) I disconnected the camera as usual. I went to the folder on my desktop and I only saw the photos which were less than 1gb (that's why the moving was very quick) but I did not see my videos at all. I looked in the camera and there was nothing no photos no videos..
I lost my videos somehow.. I tried android recovery software but it won’t recognise the camera as it uses MTP or PTP not mass storage.
Can you please help me to get my videos back?
today is Monday 25th of May first video was taken on 19th (hope that hepls)
Many thanks
I cannot recommend a software that can recover data. However I do know that the data is still there as long as you do not overwrite it. With that in mind, I would stop using your internal storage/sd card immediately.
there are some tools on playstore that i have used you should try looking on some also were the vid on the sd card??

NEED HELP PLEASE-Photos deleted!

So I had just gotten the Galaxy Note 5 on Friday night and thought I had set up Google Photos app but I guess it wasnt fully set up. I ended up accidentally deleting an entire album of pics that I took from a concert I was at with my Dad on Saturday night. I was editing photos through the gallery app and I somehow deleted the whole album and I am crushed as I lost the pictures with my Dad. (And i dont have drop box yet either).... i know there are programs such as recuva than can recover the pics but because of the new software that is in the Note 5, when I plug the phone into the computer, it doesnt recognize the phone as a removable disk and only gives me options as an mp3 player/camera (MTP & PTP) so programs such as recuva arent picking it up as a drive to recover since its not picking up as USB mass storage. Someone please advise on how I can get my computer to recognize the Note 5 as Mass Media or any other options without rooting. Thank you all so much in advance!

You cannot make it get recognized as a Mass Media. That feature has been removed from Android for more than a year now. Some OEMs used to support it but even they all have phased it out. If you are rooted with a custom recovery, try mounting in TWRP. I doubt it will work but you can give it a try.

Transfering files from Sony camera to s10 USB

So I have no problem transferring files from my Sony a6000 to my Galaxy Tab s3 through USB. I just open the stock file browser and it's right there in the device manager. But my s10 won't show it for whatever reason, and I can't even get it to connect to my camera through wifi. Any help would be great if there a this party app or what not.
Hi
I'm having a similar issue with an external ssd. Works great on my Tab S3 but won't mount on my S10+
Over posted on reddit as well as here so hopefully someone has an answer.
I'll maybe ask Samsung on Twitter too.
Cheers
Kevin

Can't you copy files from Sony camera to PC and after that copy these files to S10?
