[ROM][JB][17 FEB] MIUIv4 3.2.8 for Unlocked ICS bootloader (unofficial) - LG Optimus 2x

Presenting MIUIv4 Jellybean (4.1.2) 3.2.8 for the new bootloader (unofficial)
Read this post entirely before using the ROM or asking any questions!
Firstly, I want to thank Ricardo for all his work on CM for our phone. Since this ROM uses CM10 as base, it would not be possible without RC's work.
This ROM has been ported to the O2x from various other devices having official MIUI support (such as the Nexus S, Atrix etc.) and the MIUI team deserves credit for all of that.
This would not be possible without pengus77 and the other devs who brought CM10 to the new bootloader. His thread is here
Details of the ROM:
For use with NEW unlocked ICS bootloader only, tested with CWM recovery 6.0.1.5
Multilanguage support (refer post #2)
Does not come with gapps, you need to flash it separately
Screenshots:
(Theme applied below is 'Dark knight HD' by remcis, so thanks to him)
Screenshots attached below the post again in case you cannot see these

Tips on using the ROM:
To charge normally (fast), turn off phone, plug charger, wait for a minute (till the charging animation goes off and phone is off again) and turn on phone. Now it will charge fast. This is the standard procedure for all JB ROMs. If you dont follow this, charging will be slow.
You need to turn auto-brightness off if the LED notification lights stay on even with screen is off!
Camera:
If you are not satisfied with the quality and performance of the stock camera app, use the bundled 'ICS Camera', or an app like 'Camera360 Ultimate' (free app from the play store). It will produce better quality images.
If you get a clicking sound when starting and closing camera, dont worry, read this
Superuser:
Before installing anything, first activate root permission from 'LBE Guard' app in 'Security Center' folder. Select 'manage root permission' and enable it.
This only needs to be done once, and all superuser prompts will come as usual when you install/use root apps.
If you installed or tried to use any root apps before doing this, and your app no longer gets root access, reinstall that app. Also includes a custom hosts file, which you have the option to remove if you want to see ads.
Battery:
To see percentage battery indicator on the status bar, go to settings->battery and change the battery indicator style
Performance:
To make the UI transitions faster, you can use the good old standard tip:
Go to settings->developer options
Set 'window animation scale', 'transition animation scale' and 'animator duration scale' all to "0.5x". UI animations will seem twice as fast after doing this.
If the ROM becomes slow over time, do a reboot.
And try not to do a lot of stuff in the first few seconds when SD card scanning is going on, sync is going on or when apps are updating in the background. Its not right to complain of "this/that doesnt work" or lag when you do that

Instructions:
Same instructions as pengus77's instructions here. If you are new, and still on old GB bootloader and not sure where to start, refer to this
Dont forget to flash the 4.1.2 gapps
Standard disclaimer:
I am not responsible if anything goes wrong with your phone.
If someone has posted a bug and you have the same bug, just thank their post or wait. No need to flood with the same bug reports.
Small problems such as some app related problems can be dealt with at a later stage.
Known issues:
Stock clock widget on default theme may not work sometimes. Works with any other theme (you can change only widget's theme too, without changing full theme)
Unable to change ringtone? Use this fix
Credits:
RC and the rest of the CM team for all their work
MIUI team (especially the Nexus S team and Photon team headed by Th3bill)
wkpark for cracking the new bootloader and making it possible to use custom ROMs with it
Pengus77 and the other devs who brought CM10 to the new bootloader. Also, thanks to him for his Kowalski kernel
zeppelinrox for his v6 supercharger and carburano for supercharger values
Wajk and bihariel for their previous MIUI ROMs which i used, and which inspired me to make this ROM
All the other devs for inspiration (PM me if i missed anyone )
If you post any bug due to not following the above instructions or tips, I may not answer
Regards and thanks.

Instructions:
1. Flash the English (original) ROM normally first
2. Boot into the ROM and complete the setup in English, till the homescreen appears
3. Flash the ML pack without wiping data. Only wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot
If you wipe data in between flashing the 2 ROMs or after flashing ML pack, you will not get network signal and some apps may FC. So, dont wipe data in between.
Older versions:

Download link for version 2.10.26

ADDONS:
1) Recommended kernel
Link
2) V6 Supercharger by zeppelinrox and other performance tweaks for MIUIv4 2.10.26 only (Experimental addon!)
zoom...zoom...
Contains:
V6 supercharger by zeppelinrox. It is entirely his work, and here is the link to his thread
Contains 100% supercharged version (with supercharged services.jar and init script) already configured, and baked into the ROM
Done!
Download link
Enjoy your supercharged phone and dont forget to thank the devs who made this possible
3) MIUI control panel for 2.10.26 (including app drawer addon)
This is andy thomson's "extended settings" or control panel to allow further customization. Has various settings such as clock location change, carrier options, overscroll options, changing color of anything on the status bar, app drawer etc.
Check the attached screenshot where the clock position has been set to centre, and carrier, clock and battery indicator colors have been changed (i know its not a good color combo, but this is just for demo ) using this.
How to enable app drawer from MIUI control app (instructions by gh.rohit)
Go to MIUI Control Panel:
1. Go to "App drawer Options"
2. Select your pull down Location preference
3. Click "Auto Start" to "On"
4. Enable it, press back key button ( Do not close app from task killer )
5. Go to any screen and click ~just below~ (aprox 1mm) the statusbar at your chosen location and hold until a new pulldown appears
Instructions:
Flash in recovery, wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot
Due to low RAM, the jb control panel/app drawer process may get killed off, thus the app drawer may disappear. To prevent this, you can make the app bulletproof using the V6 supercharger (after you installed it from the previous post)
Download link
Link to andy thomson's thread is here.
4) DPI changer by tonyp
Also very useful for people who have used PA for a long time, and used to smaller dpi.
(It is not per-app based like in PA, but still very good)
Link to tonyp's post where you can download this:
Link
All credit to him, I just tested it with this ROM and it works fine. You can set grid size as 4x5 in launcher settings.
To make the UI transitions faster, you can use the good old standard tip:
Go to settings->developer options
Set 'window animation scale', 'transition animation scale' and 'animator duration scale' all to "0.5x". UI animations will seem twice as fast after doing this

I can assume this is based on latest cm-10-20121224-NIGHTLY?
Ans: I found my answer on the CM10 thead, Merry Christmas Edition is based on 24Dec nightly.

Will you make a custom kernel for CM10(.1) that works on new bootloader?
Anyway, awesome job mate. I'll try it for sure. Loved MIUI. :good:

Whats about battery drain is it still present?

Thanks everyone
The ROM base is a self compiled build from source on 24th with fixes by pengus77 to make it boot in the new boot loader. The multi language pack will be released today, and the kernel with ram hack may follow later.
Pdroid will also be included then later.
So enjoy and dont forget to thank Pengus for making this possible

This kernel will be compatible with pengus77 cm10?

Multilanguage version uploaded. Read the instructions in post #2 before flashing.
Now working on the kernel. Will support CM10, MIUIv4 and other new bootloader ROMs based on CM10 (not 10.1 for now)

Hi all, Is the fast charging method a workaround right?

Coming soon

What language that include in multi-language version perhaps it not include the language that someone need so they don't need to download it.

Sure. I need feedback on my rom, pros and cons.. to make it better
Good work!! Will stay tuned for future releases. Good luck.
Hi,
Tnx for the Good job.
Question: Does it support Persian [Farsi] language by default?
If not, any idea how can I bring it to my phone?
another question... (important one )
does this rom improve battery performance?
I've been using juffo ROM for a while and what I saw was Farsi support with a bunch of letters missed from alphabet.
another issue also I had with Stock firmware and also juffo Rom :
Android OS battery usage : 54%
Display usage : 15%
the rest of stuff each below : 10%
Well this is awkward. even I was playing NFS for a long time just 8% but android OS always > 50%

the android OS battery usage is more like a bug, i am not sure which method i used to get rid of that.
basically i followed one of the thread in xda, saying that from CWM, must do factory wipe and cache wipe, maybe dalvik too. but i've also uninstalled most of the default samsung apps, like all HUB apps.
So i am not sure which solution actually work here in this case. but right now android os usage is only 5% for me after one whole day
refer here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079136
i have juffo's rom installed, do i need a full wipe (cache + data/factory reset+ dalvik wipe ) ?

[MAY3][ROM] SlimGen|v1.6.0|CM7/NIGHTLY based|p500|Both Basebands|2.3.7|.32|.35|

SlimGen V1.6.0
Get the SlimGen Wallpaper HERE!!!
SlimGen site has been made! Visit regularly for exclusive features! http://www.sethworkz.tk/
 What is SlimGen?
-SlimGen is a CyanogenMod based ROM which is focused on being the fastest and slimmest ROM for the LG Optimus One (Slim = because it's slim(not for filesize, but it's missing useless apps) / Gen = comes from cyanoGENmod, because it is based on CM7)
Why did you create SlimGen ROM?There are many other ROMs for the P500.
-The main reason I created this ROM is because I don't like bloatware at all. Also I don't like having installed such apps on my phone which I personally will never EVER use so I thought I make my own rom without having that stuff. I never thought I will release it to the public. But then my brother and even my friends liked using the rom and so I decided to release it here on XDA.
What do you expect from the community?
-Nothing at all. I made this ROM for myself, but because of the great feedback I got,I thought to release it to the public. The only thing you can do for me,is to donate any amount if you like my work. That's all.
How to install the ROM?
-Scroll down.

-In some rare cases, lockscreen wouldn't turn on,just showing wallpaper and statusbar(for now, just reboot the device, gonna fix it asap) FIXED
-If other bugs appear other than the listed above, than it isn't my ROM's fault,it's the nightly build's fault. Blame them, not my rom. I just use their rom,it's their job to fix it.

v1.6.0 Nightly - Stable [4/28/2012]
http://code.google.com/p/slimgen-project-for-lgp500/
BugFix for updater app #1
http://www.sethworkz.noads.biz/romupdate/updaterupdate1.zip
HOW TO FLASH:
-Recommended AmonRA 3.0.6 Recovery!
-Wipe EVERYTHING! Data,Cache,dalvik,system!
-Flash the ROM then reboot.
-ENJOY!
_______________________________________________________________________________________
Info: the updater zip is not signed, disable check for certificate in recovery. If for some reason the ROM doesn't boot after installing this update, just reflash the rom and it will be ok.
Info:
LCD density change(or resolution change) shrinks down the whole user interface by dividing the number of pixels by 25% but still maintaining a readable text even on our devices. It's mainly a placebo to fool your eye that you have a WVGA screen devices, which obviously you don't. In my opinion, everything looks better with the resolution change. More things fit into the screen allowing you to read more, and swipe less.
(Keep in mind that all original nightly builds contain many bugs which obviously I cannot and will not fix, that is the CM7 team's job to fix those. So if you find or encounter any bugs during using the ROM,blame them, not me. Thank you)
ToDo:
-upgrade to Android version 4.0.3 [ DONE!] CHECK SLIMGEN 2.0!

I would love to hear some suggestions for future releases or opinions of the ROM(it is my first one)

Really BIG Thanks to:

Changelogs:
5/03/2012: Updater App BugFix #1
Rom Updater app has been updated, fixed an issue when updater didn't found any updates even if their were. This should solve the problem. If for some reason, the ROM doesn't start after flashing the update, just reflash the rom and it will work again.
4/28/2012: v1.6.0
SlimGen site has been made! Visit regularly for exclusive features! http://www.sethworkz.tk/
Future versions will feature the resolution change, I will not make roms without it because as I mentioned above, I make this for myself. I like the res change much cuz I can see more of the screen. If you guys don't like it, you can change it in the build.prop to the original one.
Open build.prop in Root Explorer and scroll to the bottom. You will find a line like this:
ro.sf.lcd_density=120
Change it to 160 and save it, then reboot and you will have the original resolution if you like that one more.
ro.sf.lcd_density=160

[BETA] NEW ROM Updater app is included! No need to download from XDA then copy it to your sd card and then flash! NO! Just open the updater app, check for updates, and if there is an update, it automatically downloads it for you and reboots in recovery! I had to implement this because many people are kinda lazy (like I am) and this will ease their rom updating process more.
Pictures of the rom updater app:

New Adreno Graphics Drivers implemented! [4/27/2012] (With these drivers, GTA3 can be played at a constant 20-25fps!!!)
Kernel Governor tweaks and fixes
Root Explorer is now the default file explorer! (by request)
Google Play Compatibility issue fixed!
Some other stuff I can't remember now...
3/16/2012: v1.5.2
Two new ROM versions released! Normal rom and a new rom featuring the LCD Density/Resolution change! See the difference here:
Settings: WITH RES CHANGE / WITHOUT RES CHANGE
Music player: WITH RES CHANGE / WITHOUT RES CHANGE
LCD density change(or resolution change) shrinks down the whole user interface by dividing the number of pixels by 25% but still maintaining a readable text even on our devices. It's mainly a placebo to fool your eye that you have a WVGA screen devices, which obviously you don't. In my opinion, everything looks better with the resolution change. More things fit into the screen allowing you to read more, and swipe less.
Kernel changed from stock Cyanogen to ta-gb1.2 for stability and GREAT battery life!
Default theme is IceCreamSandwich theme
Added new lib files for better/faster/smoother 3D graphical experience!
2/16/2012: v1.5.1 #30
Fixed a bug where the Wi-Fi gave an error and couldn't connect
Fixed a case when data enabled was loosing signal too frequently, unable to download anything
Font reverted to stock font
2/15/2012: v1.5 #30 (Bunch of changes)
Email.apk readded to the rom by request although it was not necesarry for syncing calendar. Anyway if you don't email.apk just uninstall.
Readded Cyanbread theme by request
Fixed random reboots. Now it should work well. If it still has problems, report here, although I am not responsible for them. Nightly builds are buggy, not my job to fix them.
Font changed from Ubuntu to Cantarell. For some users it was hard to read the slim letters of Ubuntu font.
Added a bunch of ringtones and notification sounds by request.
Removed my own ICS lockscreen because nightly already has included the holo lockscreen which is the same
Other things that I don't remember now but will update the list later.
Nightly updates:
FM fixed to respect upper and lower freq limits
Don't animate rotations when screen is off
Change proximity behaviour for devices w/ fixed keyboard
Now cyanbread is the default theme
Unfreeze display even if screen is off
Fix images being scaled incorrectly.
Improve scrolling cache (ported from ICS)
Add safety net for notification swipe handling.
Furtherly fix up notification swipe handling.
Additional landscape layout for sim pin unlock
Add notification type constants.
libaudio-msm7x30: initial E739 audio support
2/2/2012: v1.4 #20
Clockopia font replaced by stock ICS font. Check it out HERE
Re-added DSPManager by request
Added Revamped Ring lockscreen
Added Holo Ring lockscreen
Added Blade Ring lockscreen
Added option to disable scrolling cache
Added support for BCM20xx chipsets, to improve FM radio seek algorithm
Other things which I can't remember now but will update it later
2/1/2012: v1.3 #18
Removed adfad666 based roms due to random bootloops. They were highly unstable and it caused the phone to crash. Nightlies are more reliable so future releases will include ONLY nightly roms.
1/31/2012: v1.3
Updated all ROM to version 1.3
Version 1.3 includes bug fixes aswell as added Google Music app by request
Kernel has been changed from franco's kernel to default cyanogenmod kernel. You can still flash your own kernel if you want

Multirom support added
Bootloop problem fixed totally, the temp fix is no more needed, link deleted.
Support for mik'os cm7 based SlimGen has ended,no more updates
Support for adfad666's cm7.2 based SlimGen has ended,no more updates
Other stuff that I am too lazy to remember
1/28/2012:
BootLoop fix uploaded, for those who have bootloop problem.
1/27/2012: v1.2
Build for NEW Baseband CM7 nightly #14 added
1/26/2012: v1.2

Build for new baseband (adfad666 CM7.2 N2 base) added by request

sr...but I think that trend is new baseband ROM now ( for better call quality... )
Maybe you are right, well I think I'm gonna make this rom on new baseband aswell
Dude when u r creating a post,u should not post url directly.
U should go into more option and select insert url and than u should paste your url.than we can directly go to the link and it will be sepratly highlighted like dis
www..........www
well for the same reason (removal of blotwares/unused apps) another Rom exists here....and it is slimmer than yours(only 66MB)
see this....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324668
but kudos to your effort
I know there exists that rom,but as I mentioned before,I created this ROM for myself,so I wanted my OWN apps and OWN features.
For example I don't know any rom which has the feature of USB DUO which mounts your sd card and in the same time you can use USB debugging aswell.
I understand that this isn't the slimmest rom ever, but for me,it's perfect, only my friends and brother convinced me to share it to XDA
will try this ASAP..
thanks
well! you could try cm nightlies..and try roqu3's new modded kernel as well.

Thanks it is a great Rom
keep updating your rom with each nightly build...so that we could test with which nightly build your rom is most compatible with....until the stable build is released!!!!!
JUST A PIECE OF ADVICE
thank
offline charge?
battery drain?
just one tip
don't install launcher as data/app cause if people restore there data nandroid backup and then boot they will don't have any launcher in rom cause data/app is formatted
You want a slim ROM, BUT include menus launcher and framework themes. And why in gods name you based it on miks CM? !
Greets!

No offline charge because it is a CM7 based ROM,sry.
Battery can last for 2 days with listening to music. Playing games drains battery faster.

Because I love CM7 based ROMs,they have more potential than stock roms or even modded roms based on stock ones. I know it's not the slimmest, but for me,this rom is perfect
I'll keep updating the rom with every nightly build comes out.

this is a jj hybrid rom copy with some new things
Mate, this is not based off his ROM or anything. I ported it all myself, but yes I did use his work as inspiration ofc. It is based on .587 unlike his older release so most stuff was incompatible to begin with.
An AOSP themed Sony ROM is going to always be similair to other ones, but Im hoping to port more things and make it more unique.

Its not a copy!
YOU should first make a good ROM, BEFORE spamming other threads with useless ignorant comments.
And Yes, 95% of all stock based ROMs are made with 7ZIP...
This is NOT made with 7zip by putting other people work together and calling it a ROM. (Mine also not cuz' i follow the same thing, a unique rom )
Flashed this last night and can confirm no bugs atall, very fast and smooth. Possibly the best ics rom so far mate.

[ROM][JB][16 FEB] MIUIv4 3.2.8 (unofficial) for old/GB bootloader

Presenting MIUIv4 3.2.8 Jellybean (4.1.2) (unofficial)
Read this post entirely before using the ROM or asking any questions!
Firstly, I want to thank Ricardo for all his work on CM for our phone. Since this ROM uses CM10 as base, it would not be possible without RC's work.
This ROM has been ported to the O2x from various other devices having official MIUI support (such as the Nexus S, Atrix etc.) and the MIUI team deserves credit for all of that.
Details of the ROM:
For use with old(GB) bootloader, tested with CWM recovery 6.0.1.5
Multilanguage support
For the list of languages supported, see post 3
Refer post 3 if you want to use a language other than English or Chinese
Does not come with gapps, you need to flash it separately

Known issues:
Stock clock widget on default theme may not work sometimes. Works with any other theme (you can change only widget's theme too, without changing full theme)
FAQ:
Q. What to do if my USB Mass Storage is not working?
A: In Android terminal emulator (install from play store if you havent already), type this one by one (hope you already activated root permission first in Security-> LBE Guard)
Code:
su
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage
reboot
Q. GPS not working satisfactorily
A: Try this
Tips on using the ROM:
To charge normally (fast), turn off phone, plug charger, wait for a minute (till the charging animation goes off and phone is off again) and turn on phone. Now it will charge fast. This is the standard procedure for all JB ROMs. If you dont follow this, charging will be slow.
Themes:
MIUIv4 requires you to have a free Xiaomi account to apply themes.
Creating the account is free, quick and very easy
Dont complain if boot animation does not apply!
If you had old MIUI themes (like MIUI GB themes) in your MIUI folder on your sd card, the theme manager may try to convert them to the new format, which may take a long time. If it fails, remove those themes from your sd card.
If you downloaded a theme and it does not appear automatically in themes, press menu inside the theme manager app, and manually browse and select the .mtz file (in your sd card/MIUI/themes folder) and restart the app.
Battery:
To see percentage battery indicator on the status bar, go to settings->battery and change the battery indicator style
Performance:
To make the UI transitions faster, you can use the good old standard tip:
Go to settings->developer options

1. In recovery, wipe data if you are coming from any ROM other than MIUIv4 JB (even if you are upgrading from beta to stable, wipe is needed), and format /system (this needs to be done even while upgrading from older version)
2. Flash the ROM and then gapps
3. Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
4. Reboot. First boot takes time, be patient.

MIUIv4 Alternative version (2.10.26)
Q: Woah! I expected a newer version, and you released an older one?
A: Yes, and there's a major reason for that.
Versions later than 2.10.26 (including the previously released 2.11.30) require authorization from Xiaomi to apply themes.
Q: So, what's wrong with that?
A: Xiaomi obviously had good intentions while taking this step, like the newly planned category of paid(premium) themes and using authorization to prevent its misuse, but it causes some problems in using themes. You simply cannot use external themes (downloaded from outside theme manager) since the authorization is rejected. In some cases, even themes downloaded using the manager give error "not downloaded from the official market" due to a bug. Boot animations also could not be applied sometimes due to the bug.
Q: Ok, but what about the improvements between 2.10.26 and 2.11.30? Wont i have to sacrifice those?
A: Yes, but though there may seem to be a lot of changes in the changelog in every new version, the overall experience difference is minor, or hard to notice unless you are upgrading from/downgrading to a version which differs by, say a couple of months or more.
In short, you will hardly feel the difference. If you like to apply external themes and even try out lots of themes from the market (theme manager), then this is the version for you. All later versions have the authorization problem listed above.
Instructions:
If you are satisfied with your current MIUI 2.11.30, you can continue with it. This version contains no other change, other than the one regarding the themes, listed above.
1. If you are coming from version 2.11.30 stable, backup data using "backup" app in security center, and backup apps.
2. Reboot into recovery, format /system
3. Flash ROM, gapps
4. Make a full wipe (data, cache, dalvik cache) and reboot
If you dont wipe data, you may get phone app FC. To tell you how easy it is to backup and restore data in MIUI, I included steps 1 and 5
5. Restore data backed up in step 1 (system settings, call logs, contacts, sms etc. in "backup" app and apps using whatever you used to backup, like Titanium Backup)
Download link
Q: Will the next version you release be even older than this?
A: Who knows.... maybe
It all depends on whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages

I am not responsible if anything goes wrong with your phone.
If someone has posted a bug and you have the same bug, just thank their post or wait. No need to flood with the same bug reports.

Flash directly in recovery, without wiping data or formatting /system
If you want to use the addons, you need to flash the supercharger, kernel, tonyp_dpi_changer addons(whichever you want among these) again after flashing this update.
Instructions:
1. Reboot into recovery and flash this update
*Optional*
2. Flash addons. If you are using all 3 addons, flash supercharger first, then the kernel and tonyp_dpi_changer in any order
3. Wipe cache, dalvik cache and reboot
Download link
Since it is a common updater, for 2.10.26 too, the version will show as 2.11.30 in "About phone" after update, without supercharger. Dont worry, its still 2.10.26 for you
Addons:
Recommended kernel by pidocchio here
1)Kernel compiled from source with 32MB RAM hack by wkpark and other tweaks by benee and feav
Link
2) V6 Supercharger by zeppelinrox and other performance tweaks for MIUIv4 (Highly recommended addon!)
zoom...zoom...
Warning: There are separate versions of this for 2.10.26 and 2.11.30
Make sure that you flash the right version
Contains:
V6 supercharger by zeppelinrox. It is entirely his work, and here is the link to his thread
Contains 100% supercharged version (with supercharged services.jar and init script) already configured, and baked into the ROM
Kernel compiled from source by feav, containing 24 MB RAM hack by wkpark, and touch boost driver by benee (This does not contain the zram script since it conflicts with supercharger). These are the work of the above 3, and they deserve credits for those
Instructions:
1.If you had installed performance pack earlier, remove zram init script from /system/etc/init.d
Or else, alternatively, you can just format /system and reflash the ROM and gapps in recovery.
2. Flash the supercharger zip
3. wipe cache, dalvik cache and reboot
If before rebooting, CWM gives a warning saying that "root access may be lost. fix?" select yes
Done!
Download link for 2.10.26 v6 supercharger
Download link for 2.11.30 v6 supercharger
Enjoy your supercharged phone and dont forget to thank the devs who made this possible
If you like this addon, you can thank feav and benee on this thread and over here and wkpark on his thread.
Go to settings->developer options
Set 'window animation scale', 'transition animation scale' and 'animator duration scale' all to "0.5x". UI animations will seem twice as fast after doing this

If you cant change ringtone, flash this fix.
Instructions:
1. Flash the English (original) ROM normally first
2. Boot into the ROM and complete the setup in English, till the homescreen appears
3. Flash the ML pack without wiping data. Only wipe cache and dalvik cache and reboot
Use gapps-lite attached below, since regular gapps wont fit into system partition along with the multilanguage pack
Older versions:
Multilanguage pack for version 3.1.11:

MIUI v4 2.11.30 Multilanguage ROM
Read this post entirely if you want to use this!
Use this if you are uncomfortable with English or Chinese language. So if you are happy with using the original English/Chinese version, no need of this.
This is supposed to be flashed over the English ROM without wipe, so read the following instructions carefully. You need both the ROM zip files(English as well as multilanguage) for this.
Only for users who are not comfortable with English language ROM.
I have also uploaded a special gapps-lite of reduced size for this multilanguage ROM, since full gapps wont fit into /system partition (it fits fine with English-only version). Flash this gapps-lite, not regular one.
Instructions:
If you are already using the English version
1. In recovery, format /system
2. Flash ROM, gapps-lite
3. Wipe cache, dalvik cache and reboot (dont wipe data)
If you are doing a fresh install
1. In recovery, format /system and flash English ROM
2. wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and reboot
3. complete the setup in english (you can press "skip" whereever possible)
4. Reboot into recovery and format /system
5. flash ML ROM, gapps-lite
6. wipe cache, dalvik cache and reboot (dont wipe data here)

If Theme manager does not work, try the version attached below (overwrite in /system/app and set permission to rw-r--r--)
Theme manager may work only in English, and all other stuff should work in other languages too.
Remember that this is experimental. It should not cause any harm to your phone, but i cant guarantee that it will work on your phone (though i tested it).
Some translations may be broken, but many should work.
Subscribed. I'll follow this, and try it for sure. Probably the CM10 bugs are present. Hopefully that will be fixed soon (P990 sources). Cheers mate!
Will try once the call bug is confirmed working, likely when source released by LG...
Awesome! Downloading now!

Sick! Thanks. I'll wait for official release and sources and some bug squashing before trying it though. I really want to but I have to have a stable phone now.
Anyway - thank you for your hard work, Rugglez!
thank u for the port will be good to see miui jb stable on o2x! i will test it
Thank's Bro, I will test when i go Home.

Its not as unstable as you may think
We may never get official MIUI beyond what exists now, so that wait may never end
Most of the features work. I just tried to say that its an initial release, so there could be bugs which i have not seen yet, but backup and give it a try, you may find it stable enough for daily use too
Wow, just... wow... Smooth fast and stable... Love it. Just the issue with MIUIlauncher, but trebuchet works great for me
Great work!

I am mostly troubled by the call bug. I had CM10 nightly and I had the bug. Everything else was working great but a phone without a proper phone function is just a small tablet. When LG release proper documentation and it's implemented into CM10 (thus in you rom too) I will surely try your MIUI. I am a huge MIUI fan and ran WIUI for like 6-7 months... Yesterday I NVFlashed topogigi's rom and I am quite happy how it's bug free and stable and just everything works. Once MIUI has proper drivers though I am not coming back to official roms.

Hehe, no bro, i didnt get offended or anything, just said that I may have made the ROM to look more unstable than it actually is in the first post , nothing to worry about.
And yes, it pains to have a ROM with a call bug. Hopefully the P990 sources will help with this and maybe the CM10 battery drain too. Then we can always have ROMs up to date with the latest base and with bugs fixed
Yay! Downloading! Hoping to find a solution for the common/known CM10 bugs.

I think if you add the Russian language in the firmware of the number of people who will test the firmware at times will increase.
tried, like a lot, back to MIUI of old for now until bugs ironed out. Will follow and look forward to a later release. PS is the wether widget now available outside of China?
F***ing AWESOME.. I thought we were abandoned by MIUI group..
Thanks for bringing it to us..

[ROM][MODDED PORT]Slimui - The genius of being small (~90 Mb )

S L I M U I
DISCLAIMER
This is not my work. The port of Miui.us to I9000 was made by Brad Heffernan (Link to Original Thread for SLIMUI 1.x and Here for SLIMUI 2.x).
My philosophy
Android has to be slim. It's all about user's own personality and individuality. Stock should be all customizable and as lightweight as it could be. Your phone must trully (hence freely) express yourself, otherwise go and buy an iPh... lol.
BASE
It's JellyBean 4.1.2. Hats off to MIUI Team for all of the beauty they added to a otherwise highly performant firmware. Also nothing of this continuous development would be possible if not for our phone's unsuspected brother, the Nexus S. And finally, big thanks to all the hard workers of the original porting to GT-I9000.
SPECIFICATIONS
NOTE: All features defined here are relative to the build 1.3
- Installation: I prefered the usual simplistic installer (not Aroma as in original)
- Bootanimation: Changed to match Miui.us logo
- Kernel: It has Semaphore 2.50sv, the only version with fully working Aroma Filemanager (you can even change permissions in CWM Recovery!)
- RAM: hugemem patched (390 Mb) with 720p recording and playback
- Modem: KB5, however it will not override your current one
- Display: It is 201 DPI.
- AriesParts: Yes, it has advanced Galaxy S controls (color tuning, in-call volume etc)
- Launcher: MiHome Launcher, it's Miui exported to non-Miui ROMs. Has preincluded Theme Manager (working with no need for Xiaomi account)
- Keyboard: Q2 Keyboard. Free, fast, customizable.
- Slimui Tuner: Aroma Installer add-on with all missing stock and Slimui/Mi (flashable in cwm)
NOT INCLUDED
- GAPPS: it has no (hopefully) google elements, apart Android (lol)
- A lot of Xiaomi stuff.
- Some Miui.us apps
- Libs and framework files that are not used (?)
KNOWN ISSUES:
- GPS: works, but it's Vibrant, lol. It has my tweaks, it doesn't use gps.conf, I doubt Vibrant ever uses it.
- 911: I don't know (and don't care, sorry US users: EDIT: See post No.2). I use Mr Psycho's RIL files (original Galaxy S files), which are CM9 so you were warned.
- Settings, About phone: Wrong available internal memory displayed. I don't know why, it is on every Miui 4.1 ROM.
- Lockscreen: It may behave strange on unlock (doesn't freeze, it simply doesn't show up). Maybe a MiHome Launcher issue (?). Solved in latest builds.
- Themes: Due to changed DPI some packs might not apply.

Warning
Make a Nandroid backup of your current ROM first! You MUST have correct partitions before you proceed (see CM 10/JB 4.1)! <== It seems there are some exceptions though

Changelog:
NOTE: Only the changelog of the latest build will be displayed here
30/03/2013 SLIMUI 1.5
<<<PRIME NOSTALGY>>>
TEST BUILD 1
Changelog:
- English only
- Launcher: Stock launcher (all widgets working, except for Miui Weather - not included, has chinese cities only; hint - install instead Go Weather Widget from Playstore, it WORKS without Go Launcher Ex, it's best of all). Global Search widget needs Google's Search and Voice Search from Playstore - install apart.
- Theme: Black Ice theme (planned, needs many edits ). For now: Lockscreen & Lock wallpaper from Blues Theme (thanks to its dev Tony!) and Status Bar from Miui_4 Concept_ICS Theme (big thanks to its dev Jooode!). The original Black Ice 2.3 Theme isn't fully compatible with JB, for now only Icon pack implemented (big big thanks to its dev cgvelmax!).
- Locker: A very nice one, you'll like it (matches so well to the Prime aestethics) ^^^ see above
- New Miui Calculator, so cute interface! (from Miui 3.2.x Nexus ROM)
- MiFile Explorer: Updated to latest 3.1.6 Dark Blue build. Very strong release, fully working root explorer, archive manager. Credits to apooonet.
- Theme Manager: replaced with an older version that fixes the apply theme bug (downloads OK apply OK; no Xiaomi account needed, only formal consent on the first run). A side effect: won't let you change ringtones from within Settings, but through Theme manager itself OR by editing Build.prop lines (where ringtone and alarms are defined).
- Framework.jar patch for Mediascanner wake-ups bug (credits...Shoman94, thread here)
- Init.d: Removed scripts for scheduler and governor, were broken. New scripts for better Sd Card read/write experience (Benchmark friendly , thanks to Blackbean team and neobuddy)
- Browser: Baidu Browser instead of Miui stock one, a very powerful chinese browser (english translation). Credits to Baidu team.
- Keyboard: New Sony Ericsson Keyboard. Credits to _Sparks for porting it. Many languages and good prediction.
- Important: Superuser.apk replaced with Miui Security Guard. Fixed Su bug from 1.4 build (partial root)
- Maybe other little changes
Installation notes for Slimui 1.5 <<<Prime Nostalgy>>>:
- After the first boot, let it sit 5-10 min, then reboot
- It builds caches very slow, I don't know why (Miui 4 bug?). However thereafter it should be very fast
- It is still a buggy build due to theming and (maybe) implemented system tweaks, use for testing

mi2stock converter Link here Install in CWM Recovery. For now it will only install 2 stock apps, Miui Home and File Explorer. It will also restore the original theme (with icons and gadgets), which were previously included by default in the removed MiHome Launcher.
Slimui Tuner Link here Install in CWM Recovery. It is an AROMA Installer, will guide and customize the (un)installation of the missing stock apps. NOTE: You MUST select every app you want to keep, otherwise the given app will be removed! It will also wipe cache and dalvic cache, so the reboot will be a bit longer.
This is finally a slimmed down android version for the Vibrant. I tried requesting a version like this but never had luck. I will definitely install this when it's available. Thanks again

Flashed it but I keep getting android.process.media has stopped so I can't really test/play with it. I tried clear data from framework, play services, market, media storage, I tried fix permission in recovery etc, no go.
Edit: I did another full wipe and system format and its good now.

The ROM is indeed pretty small but faster than any other MiUi present. I just installed the rom & apps & phone is still fast enough.
Thank u!:good:
Edit: Doesn't sync contacts from Gmail(solved: Flashed gapps 4.1.2) !
Runs 720P videos in MXplayer without any issues.

I didn't include the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk in the ROM, I didn't use it. But be careful, flashing GAPPS may breake your Playstore if it's not multi-dpi (use only the Slim Gapps, it works flawlessly on dpi 201).
Glad you like it
Edit: Links to original CM10 RIL and GPS binaries added (see post No.2). Flash in CWM recovery.
Edit 2: Seems that CM10 RIL files will break the phone call sound. Going to post the Miui.us RIL files from GT-I9000
Edit 3: Added Miui-us RIL files for GT-I9000, now sound is ok
I'm not quite sure if it is a bug or not, but in the google account, contacts does not appear so they are not synchronized to the cellphone, or maybe it is just my phone.
Everything else is extremely smoooth!!!
Best regards

Anyone check the sound on phonecalls?
"Restore CM 10 RIL files (see attached) <=== Phone call sound broken?"
Makes me doubt flashing this :l
Sorry, i'm a bit confused again, do I flash GT-i9000? (i realize vibrant is t959, but the way you word it in your other post makes it sound like the i9000 will fix it for us as well)
edit: Tried it, just not working out, looks like the default miuihome is much better, and using that in system/apps doesn't work because it can't make any widgets, even with root permission.
Very fast ROM though, nice job.

Dr.Developer of this rom, do you have any idea which theme you used for this? Or where the .mtz is stored in your ROM file?
The lockscreen was the SMOOTHEST i've ever had, and I'm trying to get that on the other MIUI rom.

Actually it comes prebuilt in the launcher (MiHome).
What do you mean when you say you couldn't add widgets to the desktop? I have no problem adding any widget or folder I want. Just long press on homescreen, scroll the lower bar and you can also check out in the "More widgets", the last button to add others.

UPDATE 19/01/2013
Changelog:
15/01/2013 - First release, SLIMUI AIO. No more AIO in future, sorry
19/01/2013 - SLIMUI basic: I'll keep it as much MIUI as I can.
Now only 95 Mb!
Removed:
- All Google apps (including libs). Flash Slim GAPPS for JB 4.1. No Gallery/Camera from Google either.
- Voodoo Control. Sorry Supercurio Install free from Playstore
- AppDrawer: install free from Playstore
- Lbesec_miui.apk: too many permission dialogs and running in bg (you have Superuser and your IQ for that, lol). EDIT: It seems that the MiHome Lockscreen became much more fluid, probably for this reason?
Kept:
- All "Mi" apps: they are MIUI, modded or ported. In case of MiHome, it feels faster and has integrated Theme Manager, which won't ask you any Xiaomi registration.
- Q2 Keyboard: I'm waiting the dev's authorisation, though
Added:
- Miui Gallery and Camera, instead of the removed ones
Known issues: see OP
- Miui Camera: will FC on 720p video registration. This is a political issue, no comment.
INSTALLATION NOTES: On basic release (no AIO), you may install Slim GAPPS whenever you want, feel free to taste the pure flavour of Miui first!
Links and changelogs in post No 2. Links coming soon!
EDIT: Uploaded! Check post No 2 for download link.
