Did you read the description of PPP Widget at Google Play?
It says you need a powered USB hub. Most tablets do not provide enough power on their OTG ports. Modems need the full load.
The "triangle" - if you open your notifications - will likely say something about 'current'.
Also, the original post is WRONG stating that PPP Widget "works for all external modems". Again, read the Google Play description carefully.

[Q] Nik_Incredible_S USB Mount Issues

Hi all,
I've flashed the latest Nik_IncredibleS and it works nicely. Seems my phone is working faster
But I've some problems about USB mount (NOTE: I couldn't see any camera-related issues described in rom's xda-forum thread.)
I don't have any internet connection at home, so I'm connecting to the Internet over my network provider's 3G via my phone. I'm activating 3G connection on my phone, then connecting the phone to the PC via USB cablle. Now, here's what happening when I plug my USB cable to PC:
1) Phone asks me what to select.
2) I select USB Connection.
3) Network connection symbol appears on my PC's desktop.
4) My phone asks me the same thing.
5) Network connection symbol disappears ony my PC's desktop.
6) Again, I select "USB Connection".
7) Again, network connection symbol appears.
8) Again, my phone asks.
9) Again, network symbol disappears on the PC.
10) Again, I select USB Connection.
.
.
.
I successfully connect my PC to the internet after repeating steps 4-7 at least 3 times!
I've flashed USB Mount fix (described in the thread) but nothing changes.
Here's the details:
ROM: Latest Nik_IncredibleS
Kernel: 2.6.35.14-RCMIX-VIVO-gf17016b-dirty
Radio: 20.4802.30.0822P_3822.10.08.28_M
Network: HSDPA (Turkey-AVEA)
Please help.
Thx in adv.

[GUIDE] USB Modem ZTE MF626

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my struggle of getting my USB Dongle to work. Others will probably work in a similar way and hopefully this helps someone.
What I did:
Disable CD mode on ZTE MF626 via PC
This needs to be done via AT commands on either a Windows or Linux machine. A usefull guide can be found here:
=> wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ZTE_MF626_/_MF636
If the Modem doesn't show up as serialdevice (check dmesg for /dev/ttyUSB*) entries, ejecting the storage-device (/dev/sr0 for me) could make it to
Check if it registers as Modem on Android
I opened a terminal on my Nexus and checked dmesg if it created those /dev/ttyUSB* devices, which it should after disabling CD mode. I guess your Nexus needs a kernel with OTG enabled. I'm using the default one of codenameandroid.
Connect via PPP app while Wireless is off
I thought this will be the most difficult part, but I found a really usefull widget for that:
=> play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.draisberghof.pppwidget
All I needed to do was specifying the serialdevice manually (/dev/ttyUSB2 for me) and entering my connection details (access point name, username, password) and I also changed the dialing target to *99#.
That's all. To connect, you need to turn off WIFI, tapp on the widget and click connect. The screenshot shows the widget
Widget screenshot: imageshack.us/a/img854/9738/screenshot2012092110320.png
(I'm sorry, can't post real links yet..)
Hopefully you can share similar experiences in this thread to make multiple devices work with our (yet) 3g less Nexus 7

Tablet connect to Android auto head unit.

Hi , how are you guys , I hope everything is fine!
Is it possible for a tablet connect to Sync 3 as client device?
I just bought a china non branded tablet "Voyo i8 max" and I'm try to connect it to my Sync3.... and fail with nothing happened when I connect it.
For this Sync 3 HU , I'm pretty sure it is work well with Android auto , because I had ever connect it successfully to my HTC U Ultra.
The information of this tablet:
1. Android 7.1.1 ( I think it is AOSP)
2. CPU : Mediatek Helio X20
3. 4G ram
4. 64G flash
5. 4G LTE supported and able to dial phone to talk
That is what I tried for this tablet:
1. install Google play , service ....etc.(almost all I know apps from google frame)
2. install AA V3.4.582534 , V2.9xxx , V2.6(?)xxx
3. several USB cable were tried.
4. set tablet usb mode to data-transfer , charge , MTP ......etc.
5. root it and change build.prop from table to phone.
6. set tablet enable developer option and set usb as debug mode.
One thing very special is I follow this:
developer.android.com/training/auto/testing/
To use my PC as simulation HU , it successfully connected!!
so... I'm wondering if it is something need to "init" tablet AA when I plug this tablet to Sync 3?
this tablet is already rooted , so I can change root setting or change Linux kernel files....
it is very appropriate ,if you guys got any idea for this , please hint me .... I'll try it....
thank you very much and sorry about my English....

Mtp OTG doesn't work

Hi ! I don't know why but I want to connect my Pixel 4a 5G Yesterday on my mac and today on Pc the pixel is not recognized.
I have uncheck usb debuging and check it again but not working.
My Pixel are on last Android 12 and root with magisk. it is possible that a mode can create a problem with the OTG ?
I have test on Safe mod doesn't work too
I have connect an usb type c usb key it recognize.
I have test connect on plateform tools and on terminal ./adb devices, have message on pixel to allow my computer and it recognize but not Android File transfert ?
I think stay the new update and see if I can update it !?
I don't understand why ?
Thanks
Hi ! I post again because when I connect usb key mtp works and if I connect to my mac and go to settings usb parameters and choose transfert files/Android auto that work but never had notification pop-up for choose it
USB is a master/slave protocol. When you plug in an otg cable, your phone's USB controller switches into host mode. Your computer's USB is always in host mode. So your effectively trying to get two master devices to communicate which USB does not support.

Enabling CA carrier aggregation on any Samsung Quaclomm devices

I finally found a way to enable CA carrier aggregation on any samsung with any CSC code, this method supports Quaclomm CPUs,don't know if work on Exynos.I'm not responsible if your device is bricked,BE CAREFUL DOING THIS!!!
1.Go to your PC and download QSPT tools latest version and extract it,make sure Quaclomm USB Driver and Samsung USB Driver is installed on your PC.2.Connect your phone to your PC using USB cable, now open your phone dialer.Type in *#0808#.You should get a menu of USBSettings, switch it to RMNET + DM + MODEM + ADPL3.Go to your PC and run QSPT Configurator(After you install),it should automaticlly show up,if not, click Add New Port and add your phone in.4.Select the Start Cilents in the top, select EFS Explorer and choose you device.it should take some time to load.5.Direct to nv/item_files/modem/lte/rrc/cap folder, copy the file"prune_ca_combos"to your PC then delete it.6.After rebooting,4G+/LTE-A should show up in your status bar,and you can enjoy your carrier with carrier aggregation.
