[Q] PC Notes sync with WP8 - Windows Phone 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use for all sort aof information Notes on the PC, I cannot find a way to sync these notes or even Outlook notes with WP8 phone. It is importnant to have in my case. Any suggestions, why the WP8 notes are not sync with PC Notes? Please advise. Thankfull for any good idee

You can use skydrive to syncronize between the PC and WP

Syncs without problems via SkyDrive like said above, but also via O365 if yuo have an account. For sync to your PC you need to have Office 2010 or 2013. Or if you are Running Windows 8 the OneNote app should do it also.

Syncing with Vista....... it sucks!

So here's my quandry. My PC crashed with all of my contacts on it. Fortunately, my Kaiser is quite healthy. So I bought a new PC with Vista on it and would like to transfer my contacts from the Kaiser to the PC.
Microsoft, on the other hand, had other ideas. Despite coming with a Contacts program in Vista, Windows Mobile Device Center won't let my sync to it, I must sync to Outlook. I don't like spending hundreds of dollars more for Outlook, because I just bought a new laptop and I'm broke!
I know I can get Windows Live Mail to my hotmail, pocket pc, and vista together, but all of my contacts are stored in pocket outlook, with no way that I know of to import them into Windows Live. I tried using this program:
http://pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php?soft=1479
which will extract my contact info into a .CSV file that I can import into hotmail, but hotmail won't identify the file properly (so close!)
Does anybody know a way to get my contacts off my phone without typing them out one by one?

Use the free outlook licence/disk that came with your phone?

No Outlook - What to Do?

I am thinking about buying a Tytn II (Kaiser). I run Windows XP Pro but I do not run MS Office or Outlook (which are not even installed on my PC) or Internet Explorer (which is). Instead I use OpenOffice (open source freeware), Thunderbird (ditto) and Firefox (ditto). I refuse to pay for MS Office or Outlook. How may I sync my Kaiser to my PC - address book, documents, bookmarks etc. ?
Seems a shame that such a wonderful sounding machine is tied to Outlook and MS Office

Hmmm...Windows Mobile=Microsoft
MS Office/Outlook=Microsoft
ERGO...you're stuck!
As mentioned already Microsoft's synching solutions Activesync or WMDC are for Microsoft apps only (although it baffles me that it won't even synch to native Windows apps such as address book or Outlook Express). There is some releief in that not having a recent version of Outlook installed doesn't grey out Favourites, Files or Media so you should still be able to sync these fine. There are third party products around that offer a greater amount of synching compatibility. Perhaps others who are using the apps you mentioned have experience or can name names. Additionally, perhaps those application suppliers can advise on solutions, if they're aware of any....
I was in a similar situation but I use Thunderbird only for storing my emails.
I saw in another post a link to:
www.goosync.com
I found the Google-calendar quite useful (can be opened in Thunderbird). With Goosync you can free-of-charge sync your Google-calendar (with restrictions). For some money you can also sync tasks and the address-book.
Have a look. Maybe it's something for you. Maybe not.
bye,

I sync my contacts directly to my hotmail account without the use of outlook but then again hotmail - microsoft.

Win 7 Email

I've just upgraded to Windows 7, from XP on my PC. The one thing I cannot get used to is the lack of Outlook Express.
I have Outlook 2007 and I've successfully imported all my XP messages and contacts etc. The thing I don't like about Outlook is that all images have to be opened as a separate file.
I've also tried to use Thunderbird but so far I've been unable to import my messages from Outlook (or Outlook Express from XP) it just hangs during the import.
Does anyone know of a way to make Outlook able to view images directly from the message rather than opening them individually?
you can also try out windows live mail
from the live essentials packet
try office 2010

Take backup of outlook data and use portable outlook... or just install outlook 07/10 and add old outlook data file in it.
Bouncypete,
Outlook Express was discontinued after Windows XP. Microsoft offers Windows Live Mail as a free mail client that will allow you import your previous email files and access them. For additional information, please go here: http://bit.ly/2P76y
Also, should you require additional assistance and feedback, Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://tinyurl.com/9fhdl5 . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams.

Thanks to everyone who has replied to this and sorry I was unable to respond sooner.
I've now managed to import my old emails into Windows Live Mail. For some reason it took a couple of attemps but I've finally got it sorted.

Android - Outlook program

i'm moving from Windows Mobile to Android.
However i cannot afford to lose all my contacts just because stupid Android doesnt synchronize with Outlook!
So i really need a link to a program that either:
1) Synchronizes one's Android 2.3 Device with microsoft outlook
2) Synchronizes one's outlook with one's Gmail account
the program must be free (one way or another ), i dont want to have to pay even more money for something google should have taken care itself.
thanks a looooooooot to anyone who can locate that program for me, cuz i tryed and all i succeeded in was to find hollow posts and a program that you need to pay for
It has nothing todo with Android or Google
Outlook is an Exchange client, and email client and a PIM (personal information manager), not a mailserver
Android's mail client and contactlists synchs with mailservers that can be reached online - like Exchange - if you dont use Outlook as an Exchange client but as a local PIM only it has no way of syncing with a PIM which is only a local database of information on your PC.
Synching between local PIM's and your Android device can only be done by software on your PC and its not Google's or Android responsibility to provide synching software for your PC for every kind of PIM that exist. This is the responsibility of either the PIM manufacturer or third partys, like phone manufacturers or others. In case of an LG phone synch software is supplied with LG PC Suite, install this and you will be able to synch between Outlook and your phone (not between Outlook and Gmail)
Exporting your outlook contacts to Gmail is very simple if you just want this
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/o...ook-contacts-to-google-gmail-HA001148902.aspx
I highly recommend you start using Gmail as PIM instead of Outlook - atleast if you want an Android/Google phone and integration with this.
Once you've set up Gmail on your device, I suggest you use the free Outlook Connector. It now supports office 2010 (although not the 64-bit variety). That way, your Outlook e-mail (assuming you use your Gmail e-mail either as Pop or IMAP within outlook) and calendar are synced.
Or, if you prefer the 64-bit flavor of Outlook, you can do what I did: I use this program called gSnycit (it's paid software, though) and I use it to merge my data between the Google cloud and my PC/desktop. It's really useful too; by using it, I have the same e-mail across multiple android phones and even my 4th gen ipod touch.

Outlook to Android synchronisation
There is quick developpimg official tool: Android-sync. (As well as I am new here, it is not allowed for me to post a link - so, just add dot com to the "android-sync" and you are there)
It is free, syncing well android with Outlook - not finished.
So far it is syncing contacts (without pics/photos) without any issue, and calendar.
Authors promise to complete this tool with notes and tasks - it started somewhen in this January having cca 3-4 weeks period for new version...
I use it without any issue
LG sync ?3 on stock mobile does this really well. I was also worried about thistoo, but I am syncing at home and work outlook contacts and calander via this. Its on your internal SD card. downloadable too i think.
thank you all for your support!
i consider my question answered

sync with outlook contacts calendars

hi there,
was wondering if there is a method to sync the contacts (and calendars) from my outlook directly? ie without going through google(sony companion)?
do i have to use myphoneexploreer? wonder if compatible?
This is also a question I've wanted answering aswell, because I'm coming over from an iPhone.

MyPhoneExplorer is really good and it's free - you cannot sync directly with Outlook.
All I did was set up my outlook email address as an account and then just select to sync calendar/contacts?
Sony PC companion syncs outlook contacts/calendars via GOOGLE account
So on the circumstances (such as for WORK), where you only just want to sync directly between PC and device, seems only something like MYPHONEEXPLORER can do.
But the thing is that i find it (MPE) quite buggy with windows 8 and newer handsets.
Any other suggestions?
Just setup exchange account(outlook) and enable sync calendar and contact.
