Awesome! What's the difference between the service version and the full version? Do you have to be bootloader unlocked for both?
Sent from my XT925 using Tapatalk 2

I'm already on JB, can I re-flash the Full Version with locked bootloader?
The thing is after JB my phone never sleeps, stay "awake" all the time, draining more battery...
Thanks!

The service version keeps data. The full version performs full format.

You can't perform a downgrade with locked bootloader but you can reflash the same version, i supose. About the sleeps you already try configurations -> display -> sleep? Good Luck!

I may sound noob... but can you please tell me what's the difference between retail and carrier version. Any benefits other than no carrier bloatware? I am looking to flash my Phone and considering telstra version .. what i should expect from this ROM?

For info : English - Spanish - Portug.... Onluy this 3 languages available on this rom ...

But the sleep issue thatI'm talking about is not that one...
What I mean is that after the Jelly Bean uptade, the phone won't go to deep sleep, stays always active, or awake. Understand?

does full version keep root?
Sent from my XT925 using Tapatalk 2

If I understand things correctly the service version is required to keep root (you need protected root on 4.0.4 before you upgrade to JB then restore root)
If this is the case is there an ETA on service version of this firmware?

Don't keep the root you must root again... flash cwm and super su binary after

Can't change DPI setting on JB
Just a small problem. I can't successfully change DPI settings on this. If I change DPI from 320 to perhaps 240, cell stops booting, then only RSD Lite to solve (flashing everything back to stock). Does this happen to anyone else?
EDIT: Solved. Wasn't a problem with the ROM at all. Density modders aren't prepared to JB yet. Changed build.prop and everything worked well. Thank you anyway!

Sorry about the noob question but Does this flash via RSD right?

Yes, RSD 6.
But if you want it rooted: as JB Service version is not available for download yet (just the full version), in order to not loose root, I advise you to flash 4.0.4 Retail Brazil and then update through Settings to Motorola's JB 4.1.2.
If you don't need root or if you know some other rooting method, go ahead and flash JB Full Version with RSD Lite 6. It's your phone so you take the risk.

It's possible use the 9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQL-6_Retail_BR_SIGNED_S12_USAVANQURETBRLA019.0R_CFC_fb.xml.zip to flashing directing through Fastboot or only with RDS? I use Mac and I'm not fiding an RDS version to it, I can use sbf_flash?

Help with what? You need to explain your problem. If you're still asking about upgrading from 20.1 to 30.1, yes you can do it. I've already stated this in my previous posts.

No because you can't downgrade if your bootloader is locked.
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I am trying to unroot and I cannot use RSD Lite because I'm a Linux only man. Kind of sad, this is the first time I've had a problem like this after 5 phones.
Is there a way to apply this without using RSD? Or some way that I can install a stock ROM without using RSD? I feel like a moron because I can't find the SD card I had the stock backup that I did, and the only thing I can find after hours of searching online are RSD-Lite related unroots.
Can anyone help me? Either provide a way I can install a stock ROM using a Linux utility, or perhaps be an extremely kind soul and create a stock rooted ROM that I can flash via TWRP? I've done this before and used the universal unroot, works extremely well, but I can't find anything like that for the xt926.
I'm pretty desperate here, anyone that can help please.

AtrixHD will appear here at some point today, I have too many projects to do individual threads check here every 4-5 hours.
Edit: Also Lewa and Baidu will come at some point too; I just wanted to do ColorOS next because it's more fun and more unique than the other two

Do you have a build with the most recent ColorOS 4.3. I'm curious because I'll be looking to port out the framework and whatnot for the 50mpx camera app on the Find 7.
Is there a certain recovery you have to use cause it's failing for me. I'll try to write what the fail part is.

I hope to not touch 4.3 at all after this is done and move onto 4.4 firmwares right away; 4.1-4,3 is mostly the same, but 4.4 is very significant and is much better for a lot of reasons.
I'm pretty much at the point now where if I'm source-building 4.3 for this device I'm doing it for every device I maintain with these custom firmware ports; I can't justify 4.3 at all since MIUI is almost 4.4 for the 'general population'
Edit: On some devices it actually is, I won't do it until it's pushed to MiCode though

can I instal it on OTA 9.30.1 locked bootloader
Hi it seems that the 926 topic is a bit more active , yea so I wanted to ask you guys, if it's possible to root the device, i tried with tons of methods of JB or SuperSU flashing and that stuff, the su binary gets deleted i think each time by the Color's OS kernel maybe
I'm using the CWM recovery, btw I tried also with the TWRP recovery

Too late. I'm on your rooted kk now. All themed up already I'm gonna go back here in a min
Yeah I forgot your zip has all those in it. My ROMs are all 4.2.2. I used your rooted 4.4 KK just to check out what 4.4 is like. This is my first time on it. Love the fact I can take advantage of "OK Google Everywhere" to just say "OK Google" from any screen no matter where but geez its a battery hog. 35% in 3 hours. I'm used to 35% in 8-9 hours.

CWM will load one time only!!!! You can reboot to CWM...BUT YOU CAN NOT BOOTBACK INTO KITKAT !!!!!! You have to flash Dfuse's zip to return to 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. You cannot return to KitKat from recovery.
Once on 4.2.2 you can update or use recovery to flash stock KitKat or rooted KitKat and return to KITKAT that way but can't go from KitKat to recovery back to KitKat. You will brick and have to figure out that janky a$$ method to return to stock with lg flash tool.

Flashed 4.4.2 sbf over 4.4.4

My bootloader is unlocked. My stock rom was messed up with system modifications and I tried to go back to pure stock. So i tried flashing 4.4.2 sbf file but i am already on 4.4.4. I didn't know that before that you cannot downgrade from 4.4.2 or higher.
The thing is I run the following commands
Code:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
{

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
i didn't run the subsequent commands
and tried rebooting phone immediately
the phone is working fine as such(system modifications are still present and i want to get rid of them).
I read somewhere that if you try to downgrade you may/will brick your device. And also of a guy who did something like this (downgraded from 4.4.2 to 4.2.2 and it was working fine until he took an OTA, that OTA bricked his device)
Are there any chances of me bricking my device?
Your system shows 4.4.2 now? If so, yes....taking an OTA will very likely brick you. And those ones are much harder, or impossible to fix.

You'll be eventually able to flash L manually too.
But as long as you are confident you've never downgraded your bootloader version...you'll be fine. If you have, or are unsure....best not to OTA.

In my settings build number remains unchanged. Do this confirm that my bootloader is not downgraded?
And even if its downgraded can I manually flash Android L sbf?
Thank You very much.

So why not flash the 4.4.4 sbf using RSDLite?

I'm in a similar situation as op. reason why i don't do what you say is: there is no official 4.4.4 image from Motorola. and i have no idea where rdslite came from nor its source code.
what i did is email Motorola support repeatedly for an official 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 images because they sold us developer devices and promised support. it's ridiculous that they only offer 4.4.2 to download for restore.

nothing yet.
and please. for all that is holy, everyone minimally interested in this, move your ass and also email them!
i went via the site, logged in with the same account i used to purchase directly from them. i got an automated response from the email
[email protected]
saying "Your question has been received. You should expect a response from us within 24 hours." because i also believe in Santa Claus.
here's the message in using. feel free to reuse to spam them.
I have the developer edition.
I need to flash the original system image to re lock the boot loader.
but since my phone was sold to me on android 4.4.3 (or I accepted a OTA update from Motorola as soon as I received it) I cannot use the old android 4.4.2 system image you provide.
since Motorola is already even providing updates to 4.4.4 I demand at least the 4.4.3 to be made available. if not the 4.4.4
thank you,

It's not a normal battery usage.
Sammy 4.3 is known to have big battery drain issues on i9305 (mainly mdm_hsic_pm0 stuck wakelock). I recommand to use latest official KitKat firmware HERE or use a custom ROM based on this latest 4.4.4 firmware.
Anyway, if you want to stay with 4.3 you have to check battery usage with for instance Wakelock detector on playstore or BetterBatteryStats xda's edition app you can find HERE.
Install one of those apps and use your phone normally, then take screenshots (in english) of the battery stats in the app and post here your results.
Maybe we could find something interesting.
Thanks for reply and help to know. My girlfriend buy this phone week ago so I don't know it very well. but I gonna check and maybe install this 4.4 update. Can I do it from OTA and only later do stock settings?

I don't know if OTA will work in your case, it depends on your carrier. I've never used OTA.
I recommand to do a clean install :
- Backup all your data
- Factory reset
- Install 4.4.4 firmware with ODIN (there are plenty tutorials in xda to use ODIN) OR use OTA if OK for you.
- Configure your phone and restore backups.
Once, done, If you're happy with Stock official firmware stay like this.
Otherwise you can root and and flash custom recovery and flash custom ROM like AMCHA ROM KK for instance It works well even with KNOX bootloader, no problem.
Thanks for everything! Tomorrow I gonna start with this. I never do anything with Samsung smartphones so this will be new experience for me thanks again

Maybe you already know this but it's important to know that if you flash custom things over your official 4.3 or 4.4.4 update, your warranty will be void. It's because of Knox bootloader. Please be aware of this.
simple answer
had the exact problem and the solution was:
Flash with Odin the stock 4.4.4 Germany firmware.
it is very easy...search the firmware on SAMMOBILE.COM for i9305 and put your phone in download mode (search goole how to) and flash with odin.
look for tutorials...there are many.
good luck

Yes, I know about that.
I was flashed this 4.4.4 rom (I9305XXUFNJ1_I9305XEOFNJ1_XEO) and it's better. Screen now is on about 3,5h (so it's +1,5h more than on a 4.3). I was think that it will be better on a brand new original samsung battery, but I think, girlfriend is happy now plus for that phone is running faster than on 4.3 rom.
On a custom rom that will be better? For example on a AMCHA ROM? Or maybe a little bit, but nothing special?

I'm glad you have normal battery stats now. It was also the case for me when I switched from 4.3 to 4.4.4.

I agree, I also felt a great difference on performances.

I'm not sure if it will be faster with custom ROM as I've never used pure Sammy Stock Firmware : I can't compare. I think there could be a little difference but nothing very important. But If your girlfriend is already happy now, why change it ?
Otherwise, if you like to have a lot of features and customization and if you have time to flash and test, yes you could try custom ROMs. I could recommand AMCHA because I use it and I know it very well, but, you can also test other ROMs and see how it goes.
