Tablet UI? - Xperia Z Themes and Apps

Hi guys,
I've been searching around how to get a tablet UI on the XZ. I've been changing the DPI settings to force tablet mode, but this results in far too small icons on the phone using Apex launcher. The stock launcher isn't working in case you're wondering.
Could someone point me in the right direction to get it looking like this? I like it for the minimal looks and better handling in stead of reaching for the top op the phone when I use it in one hand. Thanks guys!

BTW, could someone check the default DPI for me and post it?

I don't have the build.prop neither the device (in fact, what made me post here is that you used my screenshot ). I guess since it is Full HD, the DPI should be around 360-400... If someone who can upload it but doesn't know how to change, upload and I will upload back a few versions with different sizes to test.

If Sony haven't included the resources for other dpi then it may not work.
I do remember paying with the z launcher on my note and could get it go to tablet mode, but it wasn't great.
Don't forget about the genius xposed framework and plug-in to allow you to change dpi and screen size for every app individually.
Obviously need root for that, something I'm sorely missing

DPI is 480
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app

DPI of 160 is tablet mode, also on the XZ, but everything is tiny then

Try 192 DPI. Works for me on.XS.

It'd be great if someone could port Paranoid Android for the Z. I don't have the chops but have my fingers crossed.

I player alround a bit and it's far too small at 160. I really hope we will have a mod or rom soon to make this possible.

213 DPI is the biggest tablet ui I found on the xz right now.

Can someone explain how to test the tablet mode? Do you use some app for changing DPI? Which one?
Thanks

With any text editor on your phone, and a file explorer with root permissions, go to /system, open build.prop, look for a line that says DPI density or something along that, and edit the number right on it.. Reboot.

Should make a backup BEFORE you edit your build.prop if it all goes sideways ;>

the normal "Sony Home" (the whole launcher) didn't work for me on 380 dpi, it moved everything to the left. had to fix Sony Home too in xposed.

Another idea would be to wait for XTZ system dump and get the Home apk and try it.

[JELLY BEAN]WhiteBalance from Xperia ZL

WhiteBalance was ported from the ZL to the Z by mw1kaduxx, But in order for it to work (to appear in settings); It needed the Z/ZL's settings.apk, So I packed Z's settings [thanks to gm007 for uploading it] in a flashable zip.
All you have to do is go to the thread thank the guy and download the mod, Then flash Xperia Z's settings and it's ready to use.
BUG: You can't set the brightness from this settings.apk, It'll just force close (Screenshot :

Find it in /system folder.

[HOW TO] Disable navigation bar on Android L/M

Hi, I decided to do this thread because I haven't seen anything like this.
So, how to disable navigation bar on Lollipop to use Pie Controls or anything? If you will use Pie Controls you have to enable it before following process.
I'm not responsible for any bricked devices.
So:
-First obviously you need to be a Root user.
-Backup your build.prop to your PC or anywhere.
-Edit build.prop with a Root Explorer using this line:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
You have to add this at the END of the .prop, save and reboot.
[FOR Marshmallow/Android 6.0]
If you're on Marshmallow (Android 6.0) the process is exactly the same, add the line at the end of the build.prop EXCEPT that you must leave 2 spaces after you added the line.

Tested on my Nexus 5 with Android 5.0, 5.1, 6.0, 7.0, 7.1.1 and on my Nexus 6 running Android 6.0 and 7.1.1
(Should work with Android 5.0 and up).
That's all, hope it works.

I'm not responsible for bricked devices or something like that.
So:
-First obviously you need be a Root user
-Backup your build.prop to your PC or anywhere (but backup it!)
-Edit build.prop with a Root Explorer using this line:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
you have to add this at the END of the .prop, save and reboot.
That's all, hope it works

I supposed that after you disable nav keys, you have to install PIE type of app? Is it LMT or LTM that I've read somewhere?
You might want to add that information just in case folks missed it and you'll get blamed.

Perfect. Thank you.
well .. it don't work for me. the phone don't boot after that. tried it twice.
what's wrong. build.prop keeps deleting itself. I go into recovery and its gone, I copy it over with the twrp file manager and after rebooting its gone again.
I can only flash system.img to get back into android.
edit: got it, forgot to set chmod 644. its working now.
Are there any side effects on screen resolution or DPI?

Is awesomeness a side effect? Probably not the one you're asking about...
Nothing bad, averse, or even unexpected came from this change for me.
