Is there any work on the update for the Wifi only tab, beyond froyo?
I've searched everywhere but seems like there is no safe (or even unsafe) way.
Are we waiting for Samsung on this?

No, its your fault for getting a crippled device. If you want custom roms get the real version.
There isn't really any work been done on this device simply because it worthless. All the devs have full specs not watered down versions.
I apologise if this is brutal but its the truth.
If you really need cfw, sell your wifi only and get a real GTab because the chances of you been satisfied are slim and 0.

Is your fault been a schmuck? Also are you a dev? A lot of people are having this model because is cheap so what. Is better that other tab to the same price (Creative Ziio), also is quite new, so is only time that a dev in spite the spec will work in the p1010

so far the only thing i have managed to do is root it (admin access). Flashing and all the other neat stuff is for diffrent models. i just read a post of someone trying to flash it with diffrent FW (firmware) and it bricked it.
so thats it for now root it and enjoy what u have till somebody manages to flash it. but like many have said this is unlikely because its at the bottom of the to do list because it lacks hardware and other specs
also note that samsung really doesnt even support it. on there site if u go to support and try and find ur modle p1010 it wont give u a support option.
Upon my recent move from Japan to mainland Asia, I purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note that is not tied to any specific carrier, and I was wondering about the model Number. The phone gives the model as B920 in the "About Phone" section. Is this model number compatible with the ROMS listed in this section? I absolutely love this device, and would love to modify it the same way I have done my Asus Transformer Prime and my gTab. Thank you all for the help and information.

The display model had all the necessary logos and the like, but when I started using it and playing with it, I noticed some differences. So I had an idea that it was fake, after the fact. That is why I came here to delve the depths of everyone's knowledge. It performs well, and does the job. Since it is a knock-off/ bootleg, I arm concerned about durability so it will be the remote control for my XBMC HTPC! A role in which it will shine.
Upshot of the whole story, yes, I got taken. First time ever when it comes to electronics. So I have to laugh instead of getting angry. Thanks everyone for all the information!
Went out an purchased a real one this time! and I absolutely love it. Thanks to everyone for helping realize that I had bought a knock-off. Boy do I feel kind of dumb.
Dude it's so totally obvious from the pictures it's a fake if you ever looked at a pic of a real one. Glad you got the genuine stuff as it's a completely different world.

About 4,500 Baht ($150 US). It came with ICS "pre-installed"!!! For everyone wondering, yes I feel less than smart about the whole situation. I can only laugh about the whole thing. It is working great combined with XBMC as a Media Center remote!

i'm looking into buying a new smartphone, the s3 mini got my attention!
i do have some questions about this devices do:
1:is it easy to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom recovery?(with my previous phone htc desire c it was a pain to do it)
2: i'm a heavy modder (install another rom almost everyday ) and i noticed some issues with the cyanogenmod roms RIL and tearing are these issues a big of a deal? (I rather like touchwiz so i don't know if i'm gonna install a custom rom on it)
3: my final question: does this phone have a notification LED like the galaxy s3/s4 note etc

2. No, they are not a big deal imo, Maclaw and Oliver's roms are working without any problem right now

i see you are getting a nexus 4, just get that since the price just drop to 199, way cheaper than s3 mini

nah i'm not going to buy a nexus 4 anymore since i live in belgium and lg want's to be a jackass by selling it for 460 euros :\ so yeah the s3 mini was my second choice

2. Not a big deal, probably you can provide logs to the devs if you want to help them work out a stable CM ROM.

unfortunately i live in belgium and LG and google (maker of nexus 4) decided to sell the 16gb (only 16gb here) for +/- 460 euros wich i'm not going to spend on a phone so yeah the s3 mini looked nice and i like touchwiz!

Does this device have nfc i heard rumors about it? (and i also don't know if it's available in belgium)

i would like to believe that you have been on XDA long enough to know that the first rule is to search before you ask
there is a model of the S3 mini that has NFC support
please search next time

More expensive than s3 mini
S3 Mini is just great with my latest release. Other phone than on stock xD
I can recommend that phone.
There's a i8190N version with NFC chip, fully compatible with all custom ROMs for i8190.
But temporary there's no custom ROM that support NFC. I'm working on it, so NFC support might be soon.

After Lumia`s black update, i am wondering will we have any of those extras? Any news i didnt heard yet ?
And in Bulgaria in one precise gsm operator - VIVACOM wp8 has a horrible problem... When i call someone and on the second line someone call me durring a call, i dont see the name or number , i see unknown caller.
Nokia fixed that issue with their Black update, i wanna ask somebody familiar will samsung make an update to their devices also ?

The glance screen is no doubt working through some ROM extension, so the chances of it working on ATIV s is kinda small, unless samsung or some hacker makes a rom which supports it.
Well, if we get SYSTEM privs on the Ativ phones, we will be able to install drivers from other OEMs. That would be cool. Still working on it... sorry for the lack of progress, I have been too busy for much research the last month or so.

Glance and Double Tap-to-Wake are Nokia-specific features and have specific drivers to work, simply installing the app will NOT make it work.
I've been meaning to look into bringing glance to Interop-Unlocked devices, although I know it won't be easy. I'll research more about this somewhere this week.
Double tap is not even needed on the Ativ as we can wake the phone with the hardware Win-button.

There are lots of current models on store shelves. They might sell a few more if buyers knew about an update, especially if it delivers longer battery life.
I don't think so.
if you can shoehorn in the Null Rom now on the hardware you should be able to do it even if Samsung rolls out Tizen. If it works on the hardware now it will work on the hardware later.
My question is, can we get Android on the Gear 2 or Gear Neo?

This article does imply that galaxy gear will remain a separate, isolated, product.
I'm guessing if a Tizen update is offered, it will be well after the gear2 is released. And apps that utilize the heart rate sensor or remote control of the newer gears, will need to be modified, or filtered out for the gg.
