XtremeGuard Screen Protector! - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Always I removed the film from my Sony smartphones when were scratched, but afraid to remove the Sony logo, I intend to buy a film to not scratch the original film.
I'm afraid of losing the image quality and touch.
I found this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/XtremeGuard...028108?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item51a810dbcc
This film is good?

Nobody !??

It's very good. But it's really hard to perfectly apply it to the device. I tried 3 times and failed miserably. lol.

I think I'll just leave with the original anti-shatter. Will I find the anti-shatter original from Sony to buy when it is scratched?

You can try the sgp crystal screen protector.

Yes, series = ADQC27 clear surface protector and DQCM30 series = protector with a matte surface. I always chose ADQC27, although I think the back should be matte (anti fingerprint)

I bought xtremeguard from 1st post and already applied it on my xperia z. Looks great. Installation was very easy. if it is wet installation you can easily move with protector on phone and than if you are satisfied you just remove water under screen protector. Now i leave my phone have som sleep to make protector fit well. I can post some photo later if you want.

Yes post a picture. Do you have any bubbles? And what about scratches? Does it scratch a lot or?

Here are photos. It is not totally perfect but for this price it is great. I also have zagg and bestskinsever and zagg is for me very expensive and not so good quality as this one. No it does not scratch a lot because it is not plastic film it is like rubber. Also like zagg and other.

Thank you for photos and short overview. Will buy it. And good job on putting screen protector very good.

I had used Zagg on my Xperia Arc but had to remove it when I had submitted my phone for housing change and it is very expensive.. I searched on eBay India and I found Gadget Shieldz.. Which is very good n almost 8 times cheaper than zagg.

I think you just bought a low quality matte type screen protector that's why it's look like ugly. It happens to me but my friend suggest to me that try to use CAPDASE matte type screen protector and then booom i easily notice the big difference between CAPDASE and my previous screen protector. CAPDASE gives much clearer view. It look like clear type even though it is a matte type. I choose matte type because of anti finger prints and oil. I didn't need to clean it from time to time.

not with sgp ultra crystal, what screen protector are you using?
AW: Don't use a screen protector
Was just about to say. Use a real protector and not some transparent plastic you found in your fridge.
In defense of iujona some expensive "military grade" screen protectors are almost like sticking a combination of bubble plastic and syrup to your screen.
I finally settled for a hard plastic variety that does not get marked by my S-Pen and cheap enough to change every month or so.
A screen protector goes a long way towards protecting your screen from enemies like sand. It also helps in preventing dynamic tension release. Allow me to explain. When gorilla glass is made, the final step is to dip the glass into a polymer, which makes a thin oleophobic coating, and then shrinks a bit, making a tight fit. This greatly improves durability, but puts the entire pane under orthogonal volumetric shearing strain, or for the common man's day to day vocabulary, stress. When the screen them scratches, this stress/pressure is released, and causes a crack, similar to how one would score a glass pane to cut it. The panel of glass will, on the next fall, fail along this near invisible hairline. Screen protectors prevent the layer on the glass from breaking in this manner, by acting as the first line of defence.
Tl;dr: spans l spend a few bucks on a good screen protector, even if you feel its a tad expensive. It's a miniscule portion of what was spent on the phone, and is well worth it

AW: Don't use a screen protector
True, yet...
1. people report that after the factory fitted protector is removed, the glass does not exhibit oleophobic properties
2. as can be taken from above, a protector is already fitted, so the shattering effect should be eliminated already
3. I spend a whopping 20 bucks on the one I ordered and planning to glue it on top of the already fitted one
What a great and insightful thread
DO USE a screen protector.
If your screen protector caused any losses in responsivenes or clarity - change brand because it's not very good...

I put on an 'invisibleshield' from zagg and haven't noticed any difference in response.
It set me back about 15 pounds sterling but since my last phones screen got badly scratched bouncing around in my pocket, I figured that 15 bucks really wasn't much.
It's worth looking after stuff sometimes.

Christ, just rip off the protective foil. Then you'll have a -lo and behold- scratch resistant screen! Or make up your mind on a 2nd protector to buy.
I don't understand why I need a thick foil on a screen that doesn't scratch. No other recent phone needs it. Neither does this. And don't bring up the shatter thing again. If it breaks it breaks. You can drop it and break it without shattering the display.

Or you could go for these amazing cases

I might go for the dual pro, I just wish there was a water resistant case as well
Just got Screen protectors from E_Cell through E-bay. Caution... DO NOT BUY, they don't have a cut for the microphone, so you're just wasting your money.
I bought a Krussel case for 25 euro. not cheap but fits the phone really well and looks really good. Also a good quality.

These snap on cases scare the **** out of me. They give pressure to the device that might result in unwanted effects. I would prefer a case like the Incipio one, it has the silicone in it, and then the hard cover to just hold it all together. And they are at the same price...
I expect more cases, cradles etc will get released later in the summer when the device is more mainstream.
I've just put on a s-line case today. Was on a couple quid from eBay. It's brilliant for the money. Decent fit for such a cheap case.
I'll get a couple photos of it up in a bit.

After inserting the phone in the case, one should be able to see the LED, at least from the front side. That would be the ideal case for Xperia SP.
I am not using a screen guard. It will make the already reflective screen of SP even more reflective ruining it completely outdoors.

it is as simple as cutting the low part and stick as if it anything happened srs the microphone is BELOW the screen so anything bad happens oh pls
Still, I dont pay for screen protectors so that I can cut them. It would be like Sony gave you the device with no ROM and told you to build one on your own.

U also can use skinomi they also offer lifetime warranty and are a better price. Same stuff as zagg and I personally think they are better. I never had them peeling off or getting that nasty yellow tint like the zagg do become.

Zagg is best I ever used
I got this at the store. The rep gave me an extra $50 off my XZ if I spent it on accessories (he gets commission on acc. I guess). The Zagg shield had all these bubbles in it after I put it on. I was worried. But most of them went away after a day, and all of them were gone after 2 days! Also, the surface feels great.:good:
If you've ever put a screen shield on before, you know how difficult all the bubbles are to get out. This material just doesn't care about bubbles. It's great!:good:
I use to be a zagg fan but ever since trying spigens glass t and tr i'll never use anything but tempered glass again the feels superior no finger prints not scratch it's great there's other company's also stop easy to install it practically does it itself

I'm looking for buying one, just watched the videos from skinomi, I like how to apply it with the liquid and that we can try several time to get aligned correctly (unlike sony's film).
Do Spigen and Zagg also come with a liquid or to remove re apply several times ?
Sorry for noobish question but I never bought this type of screen protectors.
also do they all works fine upon sony's anti shatter film ? I can see the logo still here in skinomi video.
Zagg ship for free in europe that's a good point too.

[Q] Quality of glass

What is your impression about the front and back glass ?
Are they scratch and shutter resistant ?
If I Helped, Leave A Thanks!
I find the screen to be pretty durable. If you're careful you will not scratch it. The back of mine is scratched pretty badly just above the NFC chip.
im not using any cases but i do have a screen protector on the front and i do recommend tempered glass for back because it gets scratched very easily. Glass itself seems very durable. I've been using z3c for 5 months now and everything still looks brand new. hope i helped
