[KERNEL][ROM][MOD] infiniROM v6 (JB EU 4.1.2) 2013-04-20 - RAZR i Android Development

This rom is provided as a collection of mods to be installed from CWM recovery, on top of the official motorola JB 4.1.2 EU firmware. Installing it this way means that installed apps and settings are preserved; there is no need to wipe the phone or data. When one of the mods is updated, you only need to update that component, which is simple and quick. Given its modular nature, you can also choose to install only the parts you want, or even use them with other roms. The main characteristics of this rom are:
Fast, Long battery life, Light

AIO mod v6
Features:
External SD Card available as /sdcard and /storage/sdcard0
Unlinked /data/media from internal storage, providing full 6GB for /data
Enabled 2G in settings
Native init.d support
Busybox
Flash player, only works in stock browser
Custom kernel based on Omar-Avelar Gamma Custom 1.8.0s kernel. Provides choice of cpu governors and i/o schedulers. See this post for governors and schedulers tests.
Default cpu governor: interactiveX (good performance, good battery savings, cpu speed with screen off limited to lowest frequency). Recommended alternative if more performance is needed when the screen is off: smartassV2 (good performance, medium battery savings, cpu speed with screen off scales to highest frequency). Motorola default was interactive. To switch to smartassV2 with sio, you can install this zip from recovery: View attachment initd_add_gov_sched.zip (if you want to experiment with other governors and schedulers, you can edit the init.d script inside the zip). The following zip will allow you to revert back to the default from recovery, in case things go horribly wrong: View attachment initd_del_gov_sched.zip
Default i/o scheduler: sio (good performance, huge improvement in OS and apps responsiveness). Motorola default was noop (causes stuttering and lag).
Automatic brightness curves less bright than stock. Minimum allowed by phone set to lowest possible value (much lower than stock), and used in power saver mode. (good battery savings).
Pre-rooted with ClockworkMod Superuser 1.0.1.7
Status bar modifications (1% battery, centered clock, reworked signal cluster)

Memory and disk I/O tunings from Omar-Avelar (better performance)
Disabled USB debugging notification
Uses FoolDNS to blocks adverts, malware, phishing and trackers
Better battery life (reduced wifi scanning, optimised brightness curves, new default cpu governor)
Better performance (new default i/o scheduler, kernel tunings)
Removed Motorola qe service (privacy invasion and unnecessary bloat)
Install zip from recovery. I highly recommend installing it on top of JB_91.2.26001.Retail.en.EU. However, I think it should also work on top of any JB 4.1.2 EU based rom, such as pillama. If you try it on something else than the recommended base, and you get stuck in a bootloop, do the following:
Keep power + volume down pressed until the phone shuts down
To enter bootloader mode, keep power with volume down pressed. As soon as the phone vibrates, quickly release power, but keep volume down pressed.
From there, use whatever method you want to reflash your phone (fastboot flash, cwm recovery update, cwm recovery restore)
Recent Omar-Avelar roms use a different base, and the kernel included in the AIO mod will cause a bootloop. Do not use on omar's rom:

System apps v1
This package will install/update the following system applications, directly into the system partition, while at the same time removing any update stored in the user partition:
AdAway 2.3 (since Google has banned all ad blockers, it is not available in the Play Store anymore)
Android Keyboard (AOSP) from JB 4.2.2, with swipe working. Since Swype is not needed anymore, this will also remove Swype and associated data. More information on this keyboard, as well as other keyboards downloads, is available in my other thread [APP] Keyboards with swipe (android, swype, xperia)
Clock from JB 4.2.2, with much improved Alarms, working Timer, Stopwatch, World clock and Night mode. This has been modified to remove the non-working digital clock widget, and fix the FC with running timer.
Gmail 4.3.1
Google Maps 6.14.3
Google Play Music 4.5.914i
Google Play Services 3.0.27
Google Play Store 3.10.14. I really do not like the newer Play Store v4: I think the user interface is awful on our screen size; application listings are too big showing too few entries, buttons are too small and close to each other making them difficult to touch, and there is now annoying nag asking you to enable auto-update. The version in this package has been patched to disable self-update.
YouTube 4.4.11

Motorola launcher remover v2
If you are using an alternate launcher, you might want to remove the Motorola Blur Launcher to free up some space on the phone. This will remove it, the Motorola Circle Widget and Weather application (since they only work in this launcher), as well the Favourite Contacts widget.
The following Motorola bloat is also removed: Blur updater, Motorola Services, and Blur Setup.
It will also install a tiny emergency alternative launcher, Keyword Launcher, in case you forget to install another launcher before removing the motorola one.
Download CWM recovery zip: remove_launcher_v2.zip - 641.34 KB
No need to wipe cache and dalvik-cache, as this is already taken care of.
Personally, I think the Motorola launcher is great, especially because of the associated round clock/weather/battery widget. I do not use it though, because of the lack of customisation. If you want to use it though, you might be interested in my 4x5 motoblur launcher mod.
I did not include a proper replacement in this mod, because everyone has different taste, and should be free to install their favourite launcher. If you need some guidance, however, my recommendations for (free) alternative launchers are:
Launcher 8 (my favourite, it combines the best of Windows Phone 8 with the best of Android)
Apex Launcher (for stock JB look, with great customisation options, and even a paginated vertical drawer)
Lightning Launcher Home (very lightweight, and perfect for design freaks as it gives total control over everything)
And here is what my homescreen looks like:

Please do some with omar together!
like add a option to his rom to change sd and internal storage and else things.
iam sure if all work together we can get a very sweet rom.
why work with omar?
i think he is the most working dev on the razr i and his rom and the kernel mod is great.
anyway thank you, i think i will try it

Looking forward to the kernel modifications... together with the sdcard mod

I will look at kernel mods once I got access to my dev machine in the next few days. In the meantime, I have added a debloater to the first post.

AIO Mod changelog v5:
Rebased on Omar-Avelar Gamma Custom 1.7.3 kernel.
Default cpu governor: interactiveX
Default i/o scheduler: sio
Brightness curves v7 to address complaints of screen being too dark in low light conditions. Powersaver curve now scales a bit faster at the low end. Normal curve is now based on the powersaver curve with slightly higher settings, and does not go all the way down to the minimum brightness.
Pre-rooted with ClockworkMod Superuser 1.0.1.7
CPU scheduler tuned for single core cpu with hyperthreading
Memory and disk I/O tunings from Omar-Avelar
Disabled motorola boot flash recovery in kernel
Removed installation of JB 4.2 clock, as this will be provided in a new system apps mod

Thanx, I installed it right now on top of pillama 0.6. I attach a screenshot. I will a report any issue.
Inviato dal mio XT890 con Tapatalk 2

Warning:
Don't use it together with Omars new Mod from 04-10.
At least at my system it resulted in a bootloop.

Warning: do not use the AIO mod on Omar-Avelar's recent roms. He is currently trying to port AOSP to the xt890, which means making some changes that breaks compatibility. The kernel included in the AIO mod will cause a bootloop on omar's rom.

DIANA KERNEL SOURCE CODE
https://github.com/Huexxx/diana
LATEST FEATURES/CHANGELOG
Kernel v2.6[medUV|maxUV]
- New three Diana kernel, s2.7, s2.7_medUV y s2.7_maxUV
-- Diana s2.7: Basically same kernel as s2.6light, but:
---> The voltages for freqs <= 1GHz are the same as the ones on kernel v2.6.
---> The voltages for freqs > 1GHz are the same as the ones on kernel v2.6light, higher to enjoy the same voltage tweak.
-- Diana s2.7_maxUV: Same kernel as s2.6light, with a high-UV profile.
-- Diana s2.7_medUV: Same kernel as previous, but:
---> The voltages for freqs <= 1GHz are a middle term between both, to people that have problems with maxUV but want to try a more moderated UV.
- You can learn how to correctly set the voltage here...
v7.06
- New kernel v2.6light... based on v2.3:
-- Retweaked smartreflex voltage margin values to apply a more correct voltage to each OPP. You have to start from scratch asigning a voltage value until you get your adequate value. NOTE: BEFORE MAKE CHANGES TO THIS STUFF, MAKE A CWM NANDROID BACKUP... My recommendation is: lower step by step the voltage value until a value with problems (strange things, blocking, reboot, etc), and once find that value use a two times greater value (f.e. problems with -7, use -5 instead). Once selected, it should work fine with all frequencies... but who knows, every phone is different.
-- Relaxed voltage swing to [-15,15].
-- Added and enabled by default TINY_PREEMPT_RCU with RCU BOOST.
-- Some commits from CM kernel source.
-- Added zRAM support builded as module on /etc/modules.
-- Enabled swap support.
-- Enabled by default TCP Westwood+ congestion avoidance algorithm. In the blog you can find this kernel and two additional variants with TCP Cubic and TCP Veno algorithms...
-- Removed a lot of debugging stuff.
-- Disable HIGHMEM support as it isn't needed.
-- Removed NFS and CIFS support.
-- Added some code from original V20Q sources that reduces the haptic feedback of soft buttons.
-- Removed more unnecessary drivers to reduce the kernel size even more.
- Improved new method to reboot glgps daemon when gps is disconnected through its powerwidget. It should now correctly ask for permissions and you haven't to reboot after first deactivation.
- Updated Morelocale2, Vending, Gms, Titanium Backup, Quickpic and HoloLauncher.
- Added 5 more levels to voltage control on ZeusTweaker.
- All the stuff already included on previous versions...
Code:
[B]v7.05[/B]
- Implemented a new method to reboot glgps daemon when gps is disconnected through its powerwidget. With this I'm trying to avoid the high battery draining after the use and deactivation of gps. NOTE: First time you deactivate gps, a Superuser popup to give permissions will appear, accept it. It's mandatory to reboot the phone after that. Next time you deactivate gps the methos will work fine.
- New method to control low battery warnings. Now the entire warning is disabled (sound, vibration and dialog). Inspired on [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1234738"]this[/URL].
- 2 new powerwidgets! 'Portable hotspot' and 'Network Location'
- Fixed a bug that generated FC when you try to enabled Wifi from its powerwidget with portable hotspot already activated.
- Data from configuration SMS on apns-conf.xml over Simyo spanish carrier. This will reset to default your APN config, so if you have manually entered an APN, you will have to re-enter it. If you want, pass me APN info and I'll include it on next release.
- Updated Quickpic and HoloLauncher.
- Fixed a bug with the enable/disable of LG OSP. After flashing this, it will be enabled, so if you had it disabled, re-disable it through ZeusTweaker. This will also fix a problem with turkish settings translation.
- ZeusTweaker mods to adapt it to new scenario.
[B]v7.04 Fix[/B]
- Fixed 10MB swap file issue.
- Fixed an issue that creates from scratch the swap file on every boot.
- Now status bar is gradient! This is the end to gray icons issue.
- Fixed some typos on ZeusTweaker.
- Added Turkish translation to ZeusTweaker (Credits to agritux).
- Some fixes on apns-conf.xml over Orange and Simyo spanish carriers. This will reset to default your APN config, so if you have manually entered an APN, you will have to re-enter it. If you want, pass me APN info and I'll include it on next release.
- That's not a fix made by me... The compass is working on latest Google Maps!!!
[B]v7.04[/B]
- New Diana kernel s2.6:
-- Relaxed voltage swing to [-10,10].
-- Revert to SLAB slab allocator.
-- Disabled RCU BOOST.
-- Revert to -Os compiler flag.
-- Removed NFS and CIFS support.
-- Lots of commits that right now I don't remember...
- ZeusTweaker translated to Greek! (Credits to ttheodorou). Unfortunately there are new stuff untranslated... (you have a PM). Please, send me PMs if you want to translate ZT to your language.
- Added to ZeusTweaker a new 'RAM Tweak' menu to enable/disable Swap and zRAM. For Swap it will create a file on /system. You can activate both but I don't recommend it. If you are planning to use zRAM, take into account that it will reduce RAM to generate a compressed ramdisk that will be used as swap, so use a relatively high Swappiness (>=40).
- Now you can select voltage level from -10 to +5 from ZeusTweaker.
- Fixed a bad translation to Turkish on Settings.apk
- New wallpapers added, new default wallpaper.
- Some changes to build.prop looking for more preformance.
- Updated Playstore, Quickpic, RootBrowser, HoloLauncher and Terminal Emulator.
- Launcher2 has been replaced with latest [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557091"]Xperia Launcher 0.9.2.c by Ra3el[/URL]. Now you can select it from ZeusTweaker.
- Now statusbar is darker than before to avoid gray icon problems... Also I've changed on ZeusTweaker the word 'transparent' with 'traslucent' to avoid misunderstandings.
[B]v7.03[/B]
- Modified Diana kernel s2.4:
-- Added some code from original V20Q sources that reduces the haptic feedback of soft buttons.
-- Removed more unnecessary drivers to reduce the kernel size even more.
-- Fixed a problem with 'My WiFi' wifi link.
- Oversized clear-notifications-button (to people with oversized fingers...)
- Removed the small blue android from app bar (it appeared twice on certain apps).
- Fixed the problem with blue text over soft gray background with bad contrast.
[B]v7.02:[/B]
- New kernel Diana s2.4:
-- Added and enabled by default TINY_PREEMPT_RCU with RCU BOOST.
-- Some commits from CM kernel source.
-- Added and enabled by default autogroup scheduling feature.
-- Added and enabled by default CPU-supported unaligned access.
-- Added zRAM support builded as module on /etc/modules. (config options through ZeusTweaker soon...)
-- Enabled swap support (config options through ZeusTweaker soon...)
-- Enabled by default TCP Westwood+ congestion avoidance algorithm.
-- Removed a lot of debugging stuff.
-- Enabled by default SLUB slab allocator.
-- Disable HIGHMEM support as it isn't needed.
-- NFS and CIFS support compiled as modules on /etc/modules.
-- Disabled OPTIMIZE_FOR_SIZE option to use -O2 flag instead of -Os.
- Reverted: Changed ro.build.product property to bproj_262-XXX to avoid some problems at Playstore dowloading certain apps (thanks to poloxo53). It solves some problems but generates new ones on other places and with some games. It's up to you to manually modify it on build.prop.
- More theme tweaking regarding to notifications; now uploading/downloading notifications are equal themed to standard ones.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21322849&postcount=2
Deodexed full (except 3 files) app folder: http://www.multiupload.com/2BAK8GULAT

Everything works great now, thanks!

agree. alarm lock by LG is the best... if it's not present, I won't even try that ROM.
I prefer "Alarm Clock Plus"

EAGLESBLOOD™ ICS "AOSP" 4.0.4_r2.1
**The Beta-Build (EB Build#4) is STABLE for most users. However, due to many varying basebands for this device spread throughout many countries, there are some users who experience trouble with data/service.** Build #5.5 is the most recent however some users still have issues. As we undergo further 'public testing' please be sure to backup first and use NVFlash to replace your ClockworkMod Recovery (if needed)**
-Thanks for your patience.
---------------------
As always a big thanks to the "CyanogenMod Team" for their amazing work they do for Android™. Without these guys hard at work and pioneering great features none of this would be possible for where we're at today.
Also big thanks to "rmcc" for the device tree and LGE Ril.

====Build 3====
This release of the rom contains a ramdisk that will scan ext(4,3,2)
filesystems prior to mounting. Repairs are done automatically as
needed so if your filesystems are clean, you shouldn't notice anything
different. If they are corrupt it may take a little longer to boot.
Precautions:
We are asking (insisting) that everyone flashing this version of the
rom do a clean install.
Factory Reset must be run through recovery. The installer is not
capable of unmounting the cache partition that recovery mounts.
The Option inside the installer for clearing Data will reformat
the data partition only. In the future it will clear all the data
that the Factory reset option in recovery does, but for now it is
limited.
We are insisting that Factory Reset be used because it's an almost
guarantee that /data, /cache and perhaps /system are corrupt.
Journals only repair certain types of fs corruption and android
doesn't use fsck to repair filesystems. So overtime, especially
with the use of overclocking and undervolting and unsupported versions
of android, these writeable filesystems get corrupt.
Repairing such corrupted filesystems will yield completely unknown
results as far as files that get cleared or duplicated.
In the future however, you should be able to rely on dirty installs
much more, as those filesystems will not get more and more corrupt
overtime. You should also notice that long term use will not
result in increasing instability.
You can verify that filesystems are being repaired prior to mounting
by checking dmesg via adb or in Terminal. You should not see any
messages about the journal recovering the filesystems when they
are mounted. But more importantly you'll notice things are way
more stable (at least in the force close and random crash department)
Short version:
Boot into recovery.
Factory reset
Install zip
Leave installation options on default settings.
proceed with installation.
*Added AROMA installer v 2.0 per ppl request

EAGLESBLOOD™ ROM INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS:
===========================================
**IMPORTANT** MUST READ CAREFULLY AND FOLLOW COMPLETELY.
1. Make a full backup of your current ROM. Then copy it over to PC if you wish.
2. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM). *Note* You should always flash CWM using a USB Cable and NVflash; do not 'flash CWM from the ROM Manager app'.
3. To begin start by clicking "Wipe User Data/Factory Reset", this will wipe all data off of the phone's memory (not SD card though).
4. Now click "Wipe cache partition".
5. Then go down to "Advanced > Wipe Dalvik cache".
6. Choose Install zip from "External SD Card". Wait for that to complete and confirm you see an "Installation Complete" message.
7. Now, you must flash the correct Google Apps - GApps ICS (gapps-2012xxxx-ics.zip) ...link below.
Once the gapps are installed you can now click "Reboot System". Failing to complete all of these instructions precisely can potentially leave you stuck in CWM Recovery until you manage to build your way back out. This is not fun, trust us.
9. Done. Enjoy your new ROM!

Good luck guys with new rom

Since I'm new in XDA, is there a feature for reporting disturbing account? *I typed this very very carefully. Just because of grammar police is around atm .
Anyway, I'm downloading this ROM. Hope it would be great.
First impression: damn fast with stock kernel. Well I have to test it further after I restore all my application
Great to see EaglesBlood finally come to our O2x, thanks fellas!
Btw, i cant understand how when our beloved spica got banned for a milder thing, this troller "dinmorerbedst" who has trolled and abused in all posts is still roaming free
will try this one
thanks
Running for a few hours now, not to shabby so far.
Only bug I've found is the browers crashes when you rotate, also the phone does get a bit warm when in use.
On a bright side of this thread:
i have tested the rom for a few hours. it runs smoothly as CM9 builds we have already here.
but, i have a little remark to make. when i turn on the wifi and i go into settings/wifi/show networks all networks show same signal strengths untill u choose the one to connect. After u initiate the connecting process, it detects the right signal strength for a moment, connects, then goes back to 3 bars of signal like the rest of the networks around me.
not a big deal for me, but could be frustrating for someone who is trying to find a network to connect to real quick. could be missleading him into thinking how the network has slow signal, then it would refuse to connect due to really weak signal strength. happened to me.
also. can u make a flashable zip to reverse mounting points for sdcard? like internal storage to be mounted as /sdcard/ ?
other than that, no issues for me.
keep up the good work, will be watching this thread closely.
Why when i charge my phone with wall charger it says usb and charging is soooo slow

That is actually good, it doesn't BSOD when charging mode is USB, at least not for me.
The downside is that it is slow to charge, but i charge overnight so no biggie.

Thank you for ur work
Does it work with ICS CM kernels?
Thanks in advance. If yes then I will download and flash

Still going good, a few more little problems, the auto brightness for the screen does not work, also on lock screen if you slide up and hover over messages you lose the top half of the circle.
The USB Connection is not working properly for me, after connecting to the pc and going in to internal storage and SD card, both aren't showing the sub-folders. Anyone else having this issue?

FEATURING ~
INTRO:
Ginger Snap is the successor of Gamer's Talho Rom (GTR) and Moto RAZR-UI, this ROM is based on CM7.2 latest nightlies build, basically it's an optimized Ginger Bread ROM with some customization and modifications, light weighted bareboned ROM, meant to be slick, fast and slimmed a typical user and gamers would like to have. Now Ginger Snap offers the look and feel of Stock LG ROM. Everyone love's the stock ROM but we had some problems because its NOT customizable and not as FAST as CM in terms of performance and smoothness, that is why the IDEA of getting the stock ROM looks and feel with CM features and performance will be the best combination will ever had for our devices.

Updated cosmetics to hybrid of o2x and oNet user interface, resources from balck bird rom and zdune's optimus 2x theme, other used resources are from ME
Everything is pre-themed, dialer, music, statusbar, menus, popups, icons etc..
Replaced Nemus Launcher to LG 2.0 launcher from Stefan Gündhör (fixed adding widgets Force close)
Relpaced and removed stock Android keyboard and stock lg keyboard with the ported LG 2.0 keyboard, multiple language writing support and T9dictionary (note: there is a misplaced key and haptic feedback doesnt work)
Fully ODEXED system app, benefits, boots faster and load system apps in a snap, what is the difference of odexed and deoxed rom? read here
Still zip aligns on boot for non odexed apk's for better memory management
Increased LMK to 80mb, vm heap form 24m to 32m as default also reverted 60m heap size additional option under cm settings.
Fixed security settings and Brightness power widgets settings FC's
Also fixed date not showing on statusbar when pulled down, unchecked the soft buttons on left option
Added Lg weather widgets form the widget list
Default CynogenMod Kernel installed and integrated tun.ko module (useful for vpn users)
Quickpic still as the default gallery application
Removed black statusbar theme on theme chooser, statusbar(systemui) still supports transparency
Added md5 fingerprint for security, optional center clock patch and undo patch for gs2.0 (get it on download section)
There are lot of changes and I cant remember that all, more on emulating the 2.0 user interface.
Original ics theme is still unsupported and there is no revert to stock ui undo theme patch, to lazy to update those at the moment.
This is 1st attempt, dont ask me to port this and that, because if I CAN.. I already did that, but who knows may be on the future releases.
Updating from previous version, suggested to do a clean wipe (wipe system, data, cahce and dalvik) to backup previous data, use this
▷ v1.5
ROM recompilation, added MD5 hash fingerprint for security under download section
Moved all /data/apps to /system/apps partition, to avoid user from deleting additional apps
Added option to increase VM Heap size up to 60mb, navigate to settings > GingerSnap settings > performance > vm heap size (default heap 24mb)
Included a striped out stock GB qwerty keyboard (no t9 dictionary) also set as default input method, stock GB keyboard with t9 support here
Replaced ThunderVN by thachtunganh to stock CM7.2 kernel (should fix 2way call recording issues)
Revamped Stock LG UI, adapted stock froyo cosmetic, rounded buttons and windows, stock notification bar and menu updated
Added gradient background on dialer, fix left behind stock cm icons on contacts
Fixed statusbar transparency support (select system theme on theme chooser, go to launcher settings > others > performance, check high quality scrolling)
Reconfigured some built-in scripts, privately signed ROM and New GAPPS
Updated GAPPS added thinkfree office and downgraded youtube app regarding to HQ video playback not supported over WiFi connection
Do not flash Original ICS theme, same warning as on v1.4, you'll lose additional settings go here for ICS theme
This version is 99.9% smother than all previous version :good:
▷ v1.4
Clean-up build
Updated ROM based to nightly cm7.2 08-12-2012 changelog
Replaced previous default kernel roqIX and implanted thundervn v1.02 by thachtunganh
Updated all applications to latest version including su and binary
Merged Spare parts and LCD density modder under settings/additional settings
Re-integrate and striped out tts lang.pico, should fix gplus, voice issues and FC under settings voice recognition settings/text speech settings
Integrated power saving sysctl.conf configuration, to check if working >run TE >type su >type sysctl -p and hit enter (ignore errors)
Updated minor cosmetics from lg-ui 2.0
Replaced stock sound recorder to lg stock voice recorder (mms mode not working, records always at best quality)
Updated the google apps, included currents and youtube (play store and youtube app will only show when connected to an internet network)
To updated from 1.3 to 1.4, wipe dalivik and cache and re-install the new gapps provided if needed
This is an update/clean build for more than a month of the previous version was created
Warning DO NOT flash original ics theme or else you'll lose some settings, download ics theme from here instead
All previous v1.3 themes are compatible on this update (except original ics theme)

INSTRUCTIONS v1.1
Step 0: Make backup of your data
- Make backup of your data in the way you prefer.
- If you have CWM, use it to get a nandroid backup.
- If you don't have it, but a rooted phone, install Online Nandroid Backup to do the job.
- If you come from another ROM apart from IZS v1, I'll recommend you to backup all with Titanium or similar to restore it after the installation, because this is a new base and a factory reset is MANDATORY
Click to collapse
Step 1: Ensure you have a working CWM
- If you have it, access CWM and go to step 2.
- If you don't have it or you don't know, you'll need a working CWM.
- If you already have a V30 ROM, you can follow jockjoint's thread to get both unlocked V30 u-boot (bootloader) and compatible CWM. Once you have done it, access CWM and go to step 2.
- If you have a V20/V10 rom, or a V30 but you prefer an easier way than the last indication, download 'Preinstallation for IZS ROM' from my blog. It contains Smartflash, a V20 ROM patched with CWM and a V30 baseband.
- Use Smartflash to completely flash (.bin and .fls) the images. Then you will have a V20 bootloader, a touch CWM and a V30 baseband.
- Once your phone finish the flashing procedure, it should boot into CWM.
- Go to step 2.
Click to collapse
Step 2: Install the ROM
- If you are already on IZS v1:
-- Download 'Update v1.1' from my blog and put them on sdcard root
-- Flash IZS_Uv1.1.zip with option: Install zip from SDCARD
- If you are on another ROM:
-- Download 'IZS v1' and 'Update v1.1' from my blog and put them on sdcard root
-- Make a 'wipe data / factory reset'
-- Flash IZS_v1.zip with option: Install zip from SDCARD
-- Flash IZS_Uv1.1.zip with option: Install zip from SDCARD
- Go to step 3.
Click to collapse
Step 3: Install the additional stuff
- If you don't want any additional pack, go to step 4.
- You can download the packs from my blog.
- Copy the desired packs to the root of sdcard.
- Flash them with option: Install zip from SDCARD
- Go to step 4.
Click to collapse
Step 4: [OPTIONAL] Flash an unlocked V30 u-boot (bootloader)
- This is and optional step, but desirable to get access to CWM from power off.
- If you want to stay on older bootloader, or you already have the patched u-boot, go to step 5.
- Download 'Patched V30 u-boot' from my blog and put it on sdcard root.
- Flash Patched_V30_Bootloader_CWM.zip with option: Install zip from SDCARD
- Go to step 5.
Click to collapse
Step 5: Reboot
- Wait some minutes to let the phone boot
- Enjoy!
Click to collapse
HOW TO ACCESS CWM
- As soon as IZS bootanimation appears, repeatedly press a physical key (VOL+, VOL-, G-key)
- If you have flashed the patched V30 u-boot, thanks to payback and jockjoint it's possible to use a hard-keys combo to access CWM. It's as easy as power off your phone, press and hold both Vol+ and G-key and then press power.

FAQs
When I try to set language on LG Setup Wizard or from Settings, the app crashes...
I don't know why, but SIMcard must be inserted to select language.
On first boot, I cannot pull the statusbar to get expanded notifications...
Access hidden menu with the code 3845#*970# (from dialer) and inside it make 'factory reset'.
Which is the best governor?
This question shoud be answered by yourself. Smartassv2 gives higher benchmark scores but IMHO the benchmark is not necessarily all the truth. Please, try all by yourself and give comments. In this way, you will choose the correct governor for your use and help others. I use default interactive.
Which is the best i/o scheduler?
Same as governors issue. If you want high throughput on writes to disk, best use other that ROW, because this one gives priority to reads. I use the default ROW.

About facebook. ROM have facebook and Messenger installers- it is easiest and shorter way to get correct working x86 version, no need install incorrect ARM versions from GP. If you already install incorrect version then remove facebook updates Settings-apps-facebook-three dots. Then go to app menu launcher and open "f" Facebook icon/Messenger icon- you see facebook or Messenger installer, agree to update. profit, you get correct x86 version. For get update wait that facebook app update yourself
If you have problem in Quick Settings panel even if Settings-Asus customised settings-clear quick settings not help try to do it:
1. Remove data/data/com.android.systemui and data/dalvik-cache/x86/[email protected]@AsusSystemUI
2. Then reboot
On Zenfone Zoom ZX551ML camera working now! Damn, never install this patch on ZE551ML/550ML otherwise lose camera auto focus!
1. Install BORETS ROM
2. INSTALL this patch https://drive.google.com/open?id=121vtcUOv0TOmF-_QmmROfnOh8JFe9C_V
Patch will be universal for present and some future ROM. DO NOT forget install it every time after install BORETS ROM
Do not forget that in Asus Camera settings is option "Set volume keys as". Two variants:
1. Zoom
2. Shutter
Double tap to wake set in ZenMotion > click on text "Touch gesture" NOT on toggle switch>appear menu where you should set toggle switch on. [/B]
Never try to flash this ROM on Android 5.0 or oficial CM13 with Lolipop bootloader. You get bootloop
Asus Mobile Manager removed but you can install it and will work since 2017/11/16. And remember, that for android no need deny autostart, no need close process. Also Asus Mobile Manager have unless functions. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT USE THIS APP and do not trust sweet words about clear and increase. This app is simple extra processes in your system which drain battery yourself and hinders android work
If you have stock/stock based Marshmallow ROM in this time, you may flash my ROM WITHOUT wipe data

2018/05/24
Probably eliminated the problems with the operation of memory cards (asked some to format, now, like, it will be ok)
In the settings added details for donate (note, I now have another card of the Savings Bank). The future depends on the support
Updated many prog to up-to-date versions, including Google Maps
Added Facebook Messenger installer
Returned the sink thresholds for the video card
I returned the stock governor Interactive with some corrections
The governor of Hotplug has been reworked (now there is only one kernel running at rest, not two, some changes and fixes in the code)
Added governor Hybrid (works somewhat incorrectly, only three cores of 4x work)
Fixed: did not show the firmware release date
Other (forgot already)
2018/03/18
The NTFS format now works for both read and write (SELinux Permissive is required, as before). Unfortunately, now the manufacturer of the memory card and flash drives is not defined via OTG, in third-party file managers and settings the memory card will be as sdcard1, and OTG flash drive as usbcard.
Google sms now does not force closed out the appeared item "Blocked contacts" due to partial porting of one of the APIs with Android 7.1.1
Launcher updated to version 4.5.3.5 with Android 8
A lot of code is ported from 7.1.1
Compiled several more libraries and services from the new AOSP sources
Updated many programs to current versions

Now, if you have not fulfilled the requirements for the presence of root and confirmation of it for the "SystemUI" and the program that asks for it during the Asus Customized settings, most of the items in the " BORETS ROM extra settings" will be empty

Fixed: the menu "For developers" was not displayed

Updated Google Play Services to version 12.2
Updated camera patch for Zenfone Zoom ZX551ML and decrease it ZIP size. If the patch does not update, then on the Asus Zenfone Zoom ZX551ML get the force close gallery!
2018/02/11
The clock and weather widget on the ZenUI 4 lock screen, added the location there (in its native Zenfone 4 widget it is not)
Ported Asus Camera 4.0.26 with Android 7.0+. There is a drawback: after each exit from the program by clicking the "Back" button, restarting the phone or stopping the camera process, when you re-enter requests to enable / disable location tags, use the "Home" button or the last applications menu

Compared with the previous version, now the settings are saved, except for the default tunes (they will be reset to default ones). If you decide to make a wipe of the internal memory after installing the firmware, then it must be reinstalled, otherwise the part of the functional will not work /
The performance has been increased to the sink level (the Antutu score is 65000-68000 depending on the governor), but now the application optimization will be as long and the internal memory will decrease by approximately 400 MB, as a stock ROM
After installing the firmware, TWRP will be replaced with the latest 3.2.1
The kernel is patched under Magisk 15.3, that is, if you had it, then when you install the firmware without wipes, the root will remain
???Modified Asus Launcher with Android 8.0, in addition to the usual fashion, returned the ability to separate the grids in the application menu and on the desktop??? I cleared launcher data- grid settings lose from app menu
Switch between 5 and 7 icons in Dockbar on the fly with saving all settings (Asus customize settings-select Asus Launcher, requires root)

YEs, my 31/01 is "pure" kernel therefore you can install magisk, but if install it in my rom you lose part of functions. ..
I don't see why need magisk. I have root and Xposed 86.6 from link from first post which no need magisk and all working fine. I hear that magisk need for Pokemon? But I not like this stupid game, sorry
Can we disable SIM 2 and SIM 1 on the settings? I'm sorry, I forgot how marshmallow is.
Thanks

May you read header of thread one more time? There you can see this word "for ZE551ML/ZE550ML". Rom is universal for both. Z008=ZE550ML, right?
How did you do the "mass storage" mode ?
