Multi touch only recognizing 2? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

I'm rooted and running viper 1.0. My son likes the multi touch app (he's 1 1/2) so I loaded it up and couldn't help but notice my screen will only register 2 which is a far cry from my 3d and previous androids. Can anyone else confirm?

That's the way to do it.

Thanks!

GMD Gesture Control doesn't work on the Note 8

I've used GMD Gesture Control on the Note series ever since the first one - without any problems. It doesn't work on Note 8, gestures don't get recognized, most of the time it's dead, sometimes a weird gesture will get interpreted - it says in the changelog Nougat 7.0 support was added last - so maybe not useable on 7.1.1 yet... It's a bummer though.
Anyone know of a suitable replacement?
Try All in One Gestures, seems to work fine (except immersive mode)
I solved it…
Has anyone noticed that when in the system setting ( not gmd settings but system settings ), gestures from middle and lower half of the right and left borders do not work?
Gestures from the top half of either side and lower border work with no problems.
Edit : It seems that the same thing happens with all Samsung apps
Will post in the general GMD thread

I owe you an apology. After reading your response I rechecked my settings against your screenshot, Somehow mine was on touchpad not touch screen. All is well now. And thank you very much sir!
Never used this function. Sounds interesting.

Hello and thanks for your answer. No my Note 8 was not rooted but it got a shortcut in shortcut panel for screenshot. Impossible to find it on my new Note 9
It could have been some app you had installed that added it
Don’t know if this is what you had set up on your Note 8, but there is a screenshot option in the assistant menu that you can set up in the Accessibility section of settings. Go to Settings>Accessibility>Dexterity and Interaction>Assistant Menu - turn the menu on and click for options, one of which is Screenshots. It works great!
Hope that helps!

I think it has been mentioned, without root, go to advanced settings
Enable palm swipe to capture.
Then when you want a screenshot simply swipe from left to right across whole height of screen.

Try the "Quick Settings" app that allows you to add a bunch of items to your quick access panel

Hello good alternative thanks a lot. But it's not exactly the same result that the native one. When you make a screenshot you don't have the native option

You mean with the scroll capture and sharing options? Yeah this shortcut just saves it for you without any of that.

Open the one hand operation + application, tap either left or right settings. You can then edit the swipes to one of the predetermined options.

2 additional edge bars on one UI

Hey guys I just made the jump to Pie and One UI on my Note 9 and I discovered 2 additional edge bars like the edge panel on the screen that act as a back button when swiped. Don't know if it's a bug or feature but I looked everywhere in the settings and couldn't find where to enable/disable them ! Any Idea ? Thank you.

Do you have Good Lock installed? If so, go to Good Lock and the One Handed Operation and disable it. I had the same on my S9+.
I moved over to the N9600 Note 9..........man I miss the one UI software [emoji3525]

Gesture navigation?

I've been using a OnePlus 6T and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 regularly and have become very much so used to swiping to go home, back, recents, etc. In fact, picking up my old Pixel 2 XL feels like a step back in terms of usage.
I understand there are apps that can mimic the gestures, but they aren't always 100% and can sometimes cause issues (Fluid N.G. definitely doesn't work 100% of the time and can be clunky feeling). The native gestures found on OnePlus, Xiaomi, Huawei, all feel great since they were made for the device and what not.
Based on every bit of footage I've seen thus far on the Galaxy S10/S10+, there are navigation buttons by default. Does anyone know if Samsung has made any gesture navigation to use instead of the buttons? I never thought I'd get used to using gestures but now I can't go back.
Cheers!
Yep Samsung does. Slightly different then others, but basically swipe up on left side to go back, swipe up middle for home, and swipe up on right side to go to recent apps. That is provided you have the navigation orientation the way it's supposed to be with back button on left and recents on right. Swipe up and hold middle for Google assistant

Personally I am not a fan of the Samsung gestures and 3 swipe zones can be complicated if you use different hands at times. It is one of the cons I am considering for getting the S10 as I would have to install fluid if I got one
you can completely hide navigations buttons in android pie - samsung - and use gesture (swipe left, right up down)
i am using them and it was difficult at first and i still get the random misfire but is better as you get 100% screen no button bars
you can find this option in settings
GMD gesture control does this and much more. I use it for years.

That's true, yes.
On the play store there is an app called edge gestures and there's also one made by Francisco named fluid ng. Both are very good.
as for Samsung gestures you can get a good preview on how it works here. https://youtu.be/KptBndWmvqY

Are the Samsung gestures always on by default or one can turn them off?

No, it's stock button layout. You can enable the gestures if you so choose.
Talking about gesture, anyone know how to activate/how works the gesture to close an app?
I can see it on a few videos but can't replicate it for some reason? Are we suppose to swipe up a few times?

Do you need to activate it?
I'm not talking about the bottom swipe, I'm talking about apparently anywhere on the screen swipe.
i switched from iphone x to s10
and am using the samsung gestures + FluidNG , but limited the Fluid Gestures to only back from left and right parts of the screen the same as i do with the iphone , so now everything is good without the need for ROOT etc..
Try the Good Lock app from Samsung Galaxy Store. The app gathers all the enhancement software from Samsung in it. The one hand operation + uses gesture and is configurable.

Any way to use 3rd party app for gestures?

Hi!
I just upgraded to android 11. On Android 10 I used Vivid NG for gestures but because overscan has been disabled on Android 11 it's not working.
Has anyone found a way to get around it? I want to keep using gestures but I don't care for goggles side swipe too go back - it interferes too much with the apps I use

If I change to 3 button the navbar is still visible both in immersive and fullscreen. Also chrome keeps closing a few seconds after opening. I guess I'll just have to do with google's gestures for now ?
Thanks for the help anyway ?

In my thread I have a mod available via substratum to remove/hide 3 button navigation bar. You just need to have a 3rd party gestures app already setup before enabling the overlay. If you don't care to mod the pixel launcher (the purpose of my mod), then just install the apk in the second post and just build the top overlay. The last post on the thread has a picture showing what it is.

Thanks! Just tried it but I get a build error when I try to compile. If I select a grid size I can build the overlay but the overlay overview is still empty. What am I doing wrong?

I've always had issues with the regular substratum in Android 10 and have since been using Substratum Lite. That's what I recommend my users to use. Give substratum lite a try.
