mmm , ok thx alot , I'll try it later , maybe I find another way better than flashing =,)

Custom roms cleans the app installed and other cache. Thats why i avoid flashing rom. Even if u make a detailed backup somethings are still lost.

Strange, how you have restored stock rom?
I agree... Its not possible to restore stock rom on custom rom (because of ext partiiton). Though backup is possible through latest CWM recovery...

ClockworkMod Recovery

I am installing it, but the progress bar hasn't moved for a few mins, in fact it's not even filled up at all. I have used this before on the same phone and it flew, but I had to factory reset (kids messed up the phone) and now it just sits here. Not sure what else to do, any ideas?
Yes I cleared cache facory reset before installation.

CWM
:angel:Hey Guys,
I installed CWM 5.2.7 in my galaxy pop 2.3.6
i tried to make a backup file with Nandroid (cwm)
after backing up process is finished i only see 2 files in my sdcard
1. Boot.img
2. Recovery.img
size of both are only 8 MB
is backup is done properly ?? 0_o
i mean gingerbread file is approx 90 MB
and Nandroid give me 2 files of 8 MB each? what about installed/downloaded apps ?
what if i restore from this backup?
would all apps came back??
plz reply guys:angel::angel:
I think you are ruining stock Samsung firmware
and it cannot be backed up
Stock firmware ? U mean official firmware ?
If this is what u mean then Yes, im using it and i have CWM 5.2.7
i tried nandroid backup and it gives me what i mentioned above .
And what is the point of backing up if u cannot backup on official firmware along with all downloaded app?
I thought Nandroid give me a full backup image which shall contain all settings and apps . In short, just the way it is right now!
And all i need to do a flash restore through this CWM thing....

or create a recovery yourself
E: cannot mount/cache/recovery/command
E: cannot mount/cache/recovery/log
E: cannot open/cache/recovery/log
These error showing when i reboot in recovery mode!
And will titanium make image of my current firmware? Or i have to install apps one by one ?

I tried on my P3110, and it failed at restoring /system...
If someone stock takes the ota and makes a nandroid or does a system and boot dump ill make a clean full install out of it.
Nevermind I see it
no need any version .just use cwm restore it

Can anyone confirm which firmware version is this??? there seems to be alot of new JB around + OTA...
Says system is a corrupt tar.
i dont think so system corrupted . it could be different cwn version.these files i am daily use happily . i backup with cwm 6.0.1.2 touch version . if use 6.0.1.1 do not have tar backup function as i know .

Rootable firmware

Hey guys, which one of the newest firmwares are rootable? I downloaded some of the newest ones and the ace ginger root file doesn't work for it so I had to downgrade until I found one that was rootable.

I tried the upd_1.zip on ddkq8 & it had worked. But when I flashed int2ext+ on BE kernel, device didn't boot & after a factory reset via cwm, it did. But this time, all the apps that need root access like the cwm, sd maid, etc., failed to open up & stuck on black screen with the app name label at the top. What could be the reason ?

Let's clear something up !
First of all, ALL ROMS can be rooted !
I have alot of experience in that, and after 3 years of testings first and only problem when u try to root a rom is SYSTEM free SPACE !
So, before complain that a rom cannot be rooted, just see how much free space u got (u can do that without root, using last 3.0 root explorer).
After u do that, make a flashable zip only with meta scripts that remove Maps.apk or something, than try again. It's 100000% workin !
Peace all !
Hi everybody!
You could easily remove bloatware (and much more) via aroma filemanager 1.8, just mount all, install zip from sdcard, select aromafm-1.80.zip run it and enjoy. The easiest way! Good luck.

There's a bloatware removal script for galaxy y that works even for ace. It works even without root. It is just a updater script that removes many unwanted apps. Just flash via recovery. Easy as that

As aromafm-1.80.zip by Amarullz is a file manager for all android , you can: remove or add any file anywhere, change the names of all the files , etc.

Thank you! Downloading. Thanks for everything guys. I gave cooper to my girlfriend and I had Stock on Fire installed and it's giving her problems. The /system seems to have gotten corrupted somehow and a lot of apps FC and when I try making a Nandroid it stops at backing up system.
I'm about to just flash the latest stock rom, root it and add the all in one ICS/lockscreen mod and just leave it there. Do you guys recommend anything else? I just want something that I can leave it at and not worry about anymore.

Hi SuperAce609, yesterday I installed S5830BUKT2_S5830VODKT1_S5830XWKT8_HOME.tar.md5, erased Thinkfreeoffice with aromafm-1.80, rooted with upd_1.zip, installed CWM recovery, flashed BE kernel and int2ext+, updated superuser and Google play and all went like a charm.
