[Q] Can I bypass network activation on the HTC One? - Sprint HTC One (M7)

So I've got this nice new phone to replace my aging Captivate and I'm switching carriers while I'm at it, so I've already got everything set up with the carriers to transfer my number and cancel my AT&T account when the phone is activated.
Except my contract doesn't expire for another week and this HTC is just sitting on my desk, tempting me.
From what I understand, Sprint will go ahead and cancel my AT&T contract once the phone is activated, and at this point I'm looking at a $95 ETF from AT&T. I've been watching unboxing/activation videos and the activation seems to be automatic. Is there any way I can keep that from happening and bypass the activation so I can play with the phone and keep my AT&T account active until the contract ends?

The phone will attempt to activate every time you turn it on...if you've already set up your sprint account at a store and purchased the phone from retail chances are your number port is already in progress before you turn the device on(porting only takes a few minutes) unless they've activated a temporary number for you which we do sometimes. I would clarify with sprint that the port has yet to complete before activating your device.

I've got a text message at the original number stating that "the port has been approved" and to contact them at their number to complete the activation. I also spoke to a rep a couple of days ago stating that I shouldn't activate the phone until the contract ended because at that point the cancellation of my previous contract would be pretty much automatic.

[Q] Will other cell carriers take on an HD2?

Hello. I have been, for the last 48 hours, trying to switch my Flex account over to a Pre-paid account.
In the first 24 hours, which T-mobile asked me to wait while this was happening, my service was disconnected by Flex-pay.
So this inadvertently caused an error while this was happening because one representative (out of the twelve i've talked to already) stated that a migration could not happen unless I had service still with Flex-pay.
I called again yesterday and had my Flex-pay account restored; it was about 36-hours now without phone usage at this point.
Then the representative I talked to stated that I needed to call back in the morning (this made it 48 hours without service now at our current point) to finally migrate my Flex account to a Pre-paid account.
When I am ready to do this, I find out that the resumed-account is now suspended. So I am not able to use my phone still..
I am getting tired of all of this at this point. I just wanted Pre-paid service-
Does anyone know if another cell carrier will pickup my HD2?

Possible modem failure.T-mobile was not immediately helpful

Much to my dismay, I think device is dead, bit I was more wondering if anybody else has run into this at all. To preface I'm currently traveling in Europe, phone worked fine from the 17th of October. I have the International Data and every thing was peachy till last night when it stopped associating to the cellular network. I had been using wifi calling to home till I started getting the red wifi calling icon saying invalid sim. I started looking at settings and noticed APN settings we gone and it couldn't search for networks.
I tried restarting, puling sim, then I tried a factory wipe, ultimately culminating in the pictures attached below. I also attached a picture of the bootloader for added info.
I called into T-mobile, 5 representatives and an hour and a half later was told that the only way that I was going to get a replacement is to go return it to the store where I processed my pre-order, and that needs to be done within 14 days. I'm going to try today to see if Samsung can do anything for me, but this seems more of a hardware failure that should be covered by the manufactured warranty.
I do have JUMP but I don't feel I should have to pay the deductible for this.

I've not rooted, flashed or other wise modded my phone, anybody else run into this?

If you traveling I think phone needs an unlock code and a different Sim card. WiFi calling probably just updated it self and kicked you off.

You don't need a new sim to travel with. I've used my sim and carrier many times in UK and Germany with out issue, you just get to pay a premium for roaming.
If I wanted to use a local carrier and then the local rates, then I need to be unlocked and then a local carriers sim.

[Q] Nexus 6 Verizon Network problem

I've had a T-mobile Nexus 6 on Verizon network since Thanksgiving. I've had no problems at all UNTIL today. Woke up and my network symbol has an exclamation point next to it and when I try and make calls it sends me to Verizon's customer account services. Also, a dropdown bar with the words "sign into network" appear. After clicking on it it sends me to the Verizon's broadband page.
Anybody else have this problem and no what to do? Wanna run this by before I call and navigate customer service.
Edit: My account is fully paid and up to date
Try reinserting the sim card and reboot with WiFi off. Otherwise you might need a new activated nano sim.
Its weird that it'd suddenly become deactivated though. That would suggest they cut you off intentionally.

Yeeup. I've tried a factory reset and exchanging the sim. I put my wife's micro sim in and it deactivated her whole account. Verizon did this on purpose and I'm not happy. I've been using this phone for 3 months with NO problems
So any sim inserted to your N6 has the associated account deactivated? What did Verizon support say when you called them?

Okay, so I called Verizon and the tech could not get my phone activated. She said the phone number on that account wasn't working. While this was going on I randomly checked my EMEI number on Swappa and my phone was just reported Stolen/blacklisted! Although I bought on CL unopened in box with triple-checked clean ESN. I've used it for almost 3 months with no issues and a clean ESN. I even registered it through Motorola's website. I am beside myself. I didn't say anything to the tech because she was determined to get it working and I didn't want to be like "oh hey, yeah by the way I just realized this phone is reported stolen".
Well, it is still not working and tech pretty much gave up. So I'm gonna go down to Verizon and see if there is another workaround. I don't know if this is the reason it isn't working, but all evidence says so.
Anybody have any ideas on if this phone can be used again? Am I screwed?
That's sucks how that can happen. I to bought my nexus from someone and I sure hope he doesn't do the same thing. They should see one you activate it and use it for a period of time. Then all of a sudden reported stolen, that is a scam.

Haha! Figured it out.... Finally got to a tech who knew what was up. I'm on a family plan and unbeknownst to me my inlaw had an ipad stolen and reported it to Verizon, which in turn deactivated and reported device stolen. BUT, instead of reporting just the ipad, they reported the phone too. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But the tech fixed it.
I told him it up front it wasn't a verizon "branded" device, that I cut my micro sim card down to fit it and he said no problem he would get it working....AND he did.
Similar issue
I'm having exactly the same symptoms as you mentioned, but on Swappa my IMEI comes up clean. I've talked with Google, Motorola (source for my N6), and Verizon. This happened right after a *611 call related to a billing issue. The sim in the phone is a microsim cut from my S3. Worked for about a month, then boom. Finally talked to someone last night that "fixed" my issue, but it's flaky and temporary at best. The tech support person activated my phone as my old S3 somehow, but it does seem to work. One of the other Verizon techs put in a service request to add my IMEI to the Verizon database, but it was denied because of differences between the firmware/software on the Verizon N6's making mine "not safe" to be on their network. I'm looking for a long term solution. Every time I jump off WiFi I get the aforementioned network exclamation point and then it comes back. I'm wondering if the phone had Verizon's firmware version if they'd activate it? I think my IMEI is blacklisted?
I didn't want to start a new thread since this is similar.
Hoping I didn't break any other rules. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Verizon Activation

I just got my VZW N6 today, and during the set-up it says it can't activate my phone.
The SIM card that came with the phone is in there, so I was wondering what I was doing wrong.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
You just have to call customer service, even if it is a hassle. You can try the website first, or calling the automated number but neither of those methods worked for me (just activated my Verizon Nexus 6 5 minutes ago). The website didn't have the phone in the system, and the automated number said "terms and conditions have been accepted" over and over. Called customer service, they entered the imei of the Nexus 6 and they activated it quickly. It really should be much easier than this to activate a Verizon device (I got it on contract afterall), but Verizon has their ways.

Called and they activated. though now i am getting an error saying
Our records indicate you recently purchased a device for this line of service but have not yet activated the device. You can change your allowance of minutes after you have activated your new device, or you may contact Customer Service at (800) 922-0204 for further assistance.
when i try to swap the device
just call and have them activate it manually, had to do the same with mine
Yeah, the "activation" step in the phone setup when you first turn on the n6 didn't work for me either (got my vzw n6 yesterday in the mail). I let it spin for about 10 minutes and decided to just skip that part.
After I linked my gmail account to the device and downloaded all my apps and contacts, etc.
Only after I did all of that did I finally move on to activating the phone. I called the vzw automated number and activated the phone by giving them my 10 digit phone# and supplying them with my pin code. The automated reply said that my phone is now activated. But any calls out using the phone would cause the automated voice saying I was in "roaming". So I had to do the *228 or whatever it is... then pressed option 2 and that was the final step to activation and also correcting the "roaming"..
The next step was to setup volte to allow voice calls while using hotspot. Thats a whole different subject, but I finally got that resolved too and working great.
Why does any of this **** surprise me. Same hear so guess I'll be waiting another day, lol, to get it set up. ****ing Verizon.

That's a pending activation stuck on the line you upgraded on. What phone is on the line you want to put the N6 on? What phone do you want to put on the line that currently has the N6 on it?

No, you don't - *228 is only for 3G and basic phones it does absolutely nothing for 4G LTE phones.
It can take SIM cards up to 20 minutes to activate fully on the Verizon network.

Awesome! By the time it links up you'll have "Waiting to activate" permanently burnt into your screen.

yeah I know. I set everything else up. Just pisses me off that after all VZW's crap with this phone, just one more stupid inconvenience.

I'm not trying to argue, but I'm saying that *228 did correct the roaming issue I was having.
I had been trying to place many calls and they all came back with voice recording saying that I would need to pay for the call from a credit card or by collect call since it was in Roaming. I too have read that *228 does nothing if using a SIM. But what I'm telling you as that after a long time of being stuck in roaming (much longer than 20 minutes... talking about 2 hrs after activation)... BAM after dialing *228 and pressing an option... it fixed the roaming issue.
Note, i did not activate the sim via this *228. Just the roaming thing.
Had same thing, just call, you'll bypass that activation, get into the OS and go to settings to give the agent the IMEI and ICCID.
They take 5 min to put on your account, you then reboot, it's as simple as that. End of story. I rebooted and it went on the network.
I haven't yet tried activating advanced calling to get voice and data yet, non issue right now, I just want to use the thing until the weekend when I'm going to unlock, root and flash TWRP. Once I've re-setup the phone, then I'll get to that, which actually will be easy, enable on phone on VZ site and then turn on on the phone itself.
I am having the same issue, after activating my Nexus 6 through Verizon, I still have a pending activation on the line that the Nexus 6 is currently on. I'm keeping the Nexus 6 on that line until it goes away, and Verizon seems to believe it will just disappear within 24 hours of activation. I'm nearing 24 hours, so once that is up, I'll call again and see if I can get it removed.

Don't bother calling verizon to get your Samsung Watch 3 connected

I got my Watch 3 LTE directly from samsung. I went to the Verizon website, called support, went into a store.....no one could help me. They couldn't figure out why the watch didn't have the CCIDS number or something or other.
I tried to do the QR Code from the Gear app but it never really worked for me. I had to hit Next there, took me to the verizon site. it ended up setting up a new number for the watch with Verizon and paired that number to my phone, so everything will be fine.
I will have to cancel my old number on my old watch, but whatever.
I got mine from Verizon directly it wouldn't activate so i did an online chat with them and after a few minutes and sending my IMEI they sent me a email with the QR code. once i scanned the QR code i was good to go after setup finished. coming from Samsung shouldn't block you from activating
It was fairly easy to do it directly on my watch., but you have to select "continue" when it asks for a QR Code that you don't have. Or something like that.
But you do have to call to disconnect it, which I did after discovering service was $17 per month (including taxes and fees)! Something I may do for a week here or there as needed. Wish VZW made it easier to temporarily activate it. After all these years, this might force me to take a look at Sprint, AT&T And T-Mo.
