Battery - Charging Current need help! - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Attached is a picture of my BLACK genuine original charger and my WHITE anker E4 charger.
I used both cords through the Anker - the genuine only giving out 800 MAX and the Anker cable 1800MAX
I used both cords through a Kensington Dual charger 2.1a and the genuine only giving out 800 MAX and the Anker 1200 MAX
Im confused as to how the terrible looking white Anker cable is better than the original genuine cable?
I have tried a few cables and NOTHING has compared to this Anker one in terms of ratings (via Galaxy Current App)
Where can i buy another Anker cabe like this to replace all my other cables?
Thanks

Where ever you bought the first one.

Something is wrong with your black original cable cause its acting like a thin wire pc cable. My original Samsung wall charger and cable works at perfect 1.8A just based on under 2hr time it takes to charge oem battery. I suggest monoprice cables in other thread because they have original 24AWG/28AWG thick wires. That's what Anker cable probably has as well. All my cables at home are either from monoprice or Nexus 7 or Note 2, thus rated for 1A-2A current.

Hi, first excuse my poor English
How do you know how much mAh give you each cable?
Thanks in advanced

It's simple, the anker cable is shorter and thicker = less resistance = more mA

Hi, you are true, in two sample of cables of the same material, thick is synonym of less mAh capacity. :good:
Three things:
1st) I recently a make a extensión for a usb charger. I buy a good (thin and expensive) USB to micro USB cable, when i cut both i discover the internal cables of the newest (thinner and expensive) have at least the half diameter of my original (and thick) cable ,
Why look thinner the new one but don´t have more capacity? because the new cable (thinn), is ONLY massive shielded.
2nd) In your first post, you specify precisely two mAh amounts (800 and 1800). Again, please, How do you calculate? or How do you measure?
3rd) Is a fact two cables, made with the same/equal material, deliver differents amount of mAh using the same charger, by the configuration inside of the micro usb conectors. http://www.usbpinout.net/

Good Solid Usb Cables?

This may sound silly, but can anyone recommend a good quality USB cable for charging the note?
Back when I had my Motorola Photon, the usb cables I had all ended up crapping out because the connector that plugged into the phone would bend or something causing it not to fit snugly in the usb port. I would have to put something on the connector when the phone was changing so that the pins would stay in contact.
Then I invested in a bunch of these cables: amazon.com/AmazonBasics-USB-Cable-Micro-Meters/dp/B003ES5ZSW
It's a surprisingly good cable and the connectors are solid so they always stay snug when you plug it in.
Now that I have my Note though, these cables are no good for charging anymore. For some reason, they can't carry 2amps to the phone; I'm not sure if it's the length or the gauge of the wire that's the problem, but my phone charges unusually slow when I use one of those cables in the stock usb charger.
So, I'm looking for a tough usb cable that can carry 2amps and has solid connectors like the Amazon cables. The one that came with the phone is alright, but it's not as thick as the Amazon cable so it doesn't feel as tough.
Thanks!

This a good quality USB cable: http://dx.com/p/usb-male-to-micro-usb-male-charging-data-cable-for-htc-120cm-109774?item=32
Quite proffessional & robust aspect , microUSB fits tightly and firmly, connection is actually stable even with very used devices with worn connector. Works where others fail .The length is perfect for charging and working with the computer.
I like to buy the older OEM cables that came with the S1 and S2 on amazon for like 3 bucks with prime. I Suppose they aren't the most rugged, but at like 3 bucks (or less) who cares? I buy a bunch of them so I can have them all over the place, and I have spares. They charge my note2 just fine... though I haven't really tested any comparison charging really.

That looks like the HTC cable I've got which i hated because it has memory and the connection between the head and the rest of the wire looked flimsy, but this one could be different.
Personally, I think the cable that came with the Nexus 7 is pretty robust, but the best one I've ever used is the one that came with my Nokia N900 (the long one, not the icky little short one, although both share the same build quality).
point is the USB 3.0... in short I guess you won't find cable for Note 2 what knows the 2A. Your best choice it is if you buy an USB 3.0 extender (you know the connector is colored to blue inside = 3.0) for the orig Samsung cable

That makes no sense. For charging it doesn't matter what micro usb cable you use. I'v been using the cable that came with my original Droid, it works just fine. Also pretty sure the Note 2 isn't usb 3 capable.
The are ruggedized cables inn Amazon but the cable is more rugged not the connector. If you are worried about repetitive connecting killing the cable then get a dock. I use the genetic dock I had for my GS3 and the note 2 actually fits better on it than the gs3 ever did. I'll find the product link for both on Amazon.

You might also take a look www.monoprice.com . I've purchased several micro usb cables from them (from 3 ft to 6 ft in length); good quality, lasts a long time. Lifetime warranty. They're made with heavy gauge wire, making for a thick cable, so it won't be a flexible as some others, though.
I only charge my phone at work using my monitors USB jack, i use one of these Nokia USB cables - http://www.all4phone.com/data/gfx/pictures/large/5/1/15_4.jpg
It charges it fine for my daily use while in work, though obviously not 2A.
It's been in use 5 days a week for over 2 years and has never bent or broke.
I don't know how people come to break Micro USB cable ends, I've never broke one ever!

I've struggled with a variety of the longer, non-OEM micro USB cables - the Amazon Basics you mentioned, cables from Monoprice, etc. I had problems with all of them, either not providing enough current, or just flaking out within a short time. At one point I thought my phone had a problem with the micro USB jack (it didn't). Then one day I found a great cable on Amazon:
Search Amazon "Mediabridge - USB 2.0 A-Male to Micro-B Cable (6 Feet)"
I've been using this cable for several years now, and it has proven to be very durable (I've run over it with my office chair a number of times), and has always provided the full current of the charger I am using with no issues at all. I purchased another one recently to use in another location, and the quality is the same. I've been using these cables with all of my phones, and currently with the Note II.
First post! I felt this suggestion was important enough to un-lurk after 4 years
The "new" samsung stock cable seems very nice. my favorite is still the kindle cable. good quality long and charges EVERYTHING.
that DX cable also loos very nice I may have to order a couple of those.

That's what I meant, the jacket on the wires is thick and makes the cable feel tough, but I have no idea what the gauge of the wire is.

Most micro USB 2.0 cables have 28 AWG for data and 28 AWG and 24 AWG for the two power lead cables; if one were to use regular 16AWG lamp cord to act as power lead current shunts; to help enable the micro USB 2.0 cables to carry enough current; to be able to pass up to 2.0A for the hi current carrying charger adapter for a typical Samsung Tablet 2.0 A charger application; when ones Samsung tablet battery has been fully depleted; perhaps this can be confirmed and/or verified using an USB based Power Monitor that measures both voltage and current and the also displays them both to easily see the voltage and current real time values; as the Samsung tablet battery is being recharged?
I just bought a bunch of the OEM Samsung Note 2 chargers off Amazon. The charger is rated at 2 amps so I'd assume the cable is, too. Although I've never tried to monitor how much current the phone is getting while charging. Seems to charge faster on the OEM 2 amp charger than on all my other crappier chargers.
In my experience the cheap cables and chargers from DX aren't good. They were fine on my old WinMo phone but anything up to and including my old first gen Galaxy doesn't deal well with the cheap cables.

Oem chargers are only available from samsung, official samsung online store or authorised dealer with the official samsung box, or through samsung service center without the box, other places are just A+ quality chargers from china that looks identical.
As long as it's a good quality cable, it should give you the acceptable charge rate, the note 2 does not charge the full 2A current.

Well they came in Samsung packaging and I can't tell the difference. They were like $20 a peice instead of the usual $5 or so for cheap chargers so i hope they're OEM.

I presume they are oem, trust me a A+ quality one from china looks identical, i needed another one, so I took my out of the box charger to china to buy another because it's cheaper, but many of the shops say they are not oem.
They are too expensive in hong kong.
Now I have a hard time getting a note 3 one.

@op
if you do want a good quality cable, have you consider getting some professional made one's, i've also seen some sold at shops that sells professional headphones and portable power amp for phones, they have cable, but at a very very good price, anything from USD 25 to USD 150.
I use Monoprice 6-Feet USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable with Ferrite Core (Gold Plated)
I have packed my oem cable, that came with my note away, that way i know i will always have a backup cable that works for certain tasks that i need to be sure are done without fault.

Wait before u buy charging cable cause the Thickness of the does mean alot

OK so like some others i have the strange problem that the charging cable is "falling" from the connector on my note 2.
i have found a solution with replacement cable from HAMA and it was great cause the connector is about 1 mm longer and keep "stuck" inside the not 2
the problem is that i have found out the charging is slow...
i thought its my imagination but i take the charger on my bag to work and yesterday night went to sleep with about 12% battery and connecting to the charger i was sure that in the morning the battery will be full....
i woke up 3.5 hours later to work and ... ooops only 74% battery...
i decided that it has to be the cable so i took with me the original cable and here i am at work connecting the charger and in about few minutes i got 80% battery.
so i guess we have to find a thick cable cause "having" 2A charging is depend also on the cable thickness ...
I had similar problems here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2015459
It looks like all cables are not created equal.
I doubt it was the gauge. It probably was that the pins weren't fully contacting because they weren't aligned right or something. It doesn't take much wire to deliver 10 watts.
I don't have problems with charging, but the cable fit is very loose and can be very easily disconnected. I thought it's just me.
I too have noticed shower charge rate on other chargers/cables. I used one of my old palm pre (yes remember those) chargers and cable to charge my note2 one day and it took forever. Not sure what the reading is buti believe it was a 1.5a charger witha thinner wire.
I am using the stock Samsung note 2 charger/cable my phone came with and it is much faster. On the cable it says 23AWGx2. Not sure what the x2 is but i would look for the same 23 AWG.
I also have an I go charger with the interchangeable tips. I believe it is a 2a charger. Not sure about the wire gauge but it is thicker. It also charges fast like the stock one.
I'm guessing the smaller gauge wire loses some charge through the extra heat it is generating to push the2a required. I did notice on the palm pre charger that it was hot.
I have noticed on all my chargers besides the stock one I have to push much harder to plug it in. I hope its not damaging the connector on the phone.

The important thing is amperes, not watts. And 2A is not that small.
I tried using the following site to calculate the voltage drop : h ttp://genuinedealz.com/voltage-drop.html. And with 4ft of 28AWG cable at 2A, the voltage drop is 1V. And 5V-1V=4V is not enough to completely charge li-ion batteries. Switch to 20AWG and the voltage drop becomes a more reasonable 0.16V.
Also, voltage drop is proportional to length, so longer cables must be thicker to compensate.

Who use magnetic micro USB with Mate 8 (and probably in IPAKY case ?

I found some china magnetic microUSB cable and brand named. Who use this type of cable ? Is it usefull when phone is in case (how their compability) ?
All already buy or anybody knows nothing about it ?

2.4A Micro USB Magnetic Adapter Charging Charger Cable

That is a pretty neat thing to get.
I do have the IPAKY case, and i guess i would need to actually see if it fits with this usb adapter in reality.
I found earlier only one brand who put sizes in mm of magnetic microusb to description. It was on Amazon, and was before I buy ipaky case. Now i can't found it on Amazon, probably all was sold.?

Whats the impact to the phone? Read some reviews and there are claims that the charging circuit was fried and the battery lost its original capacity. These were for other phones though.

Battery capacity lost ? From cable ? hm
What can be fried if this a same cable, for 2.4A and if with normal 2.4A gold plated contacts ?
was looking at this too, some reviews on amazon says doesn't charge as fast a direct plug. If you try it pls post feedback.

eBay & AliExpress charging cables

Hello guys,
I am wondering is there any harm in using non-original charging cables from China.... for example brand named ROCK...
I guess charger itself is more important than the cable.??
Thanks
I bought 3 cables at ebay, about a year and a half ago, and they work as the first day, but, they are of the magnetic connector type, they are useful for charging, not for data transfer
I am also sometimes using non-original cables from eBay... but I wonder if charging with them could hurt battery?
I think that the most important factor is the charger, the cable will transmit what the charger produces, the cable at most would diminish the electrical flux
avoid cheap brands.
the note 8 uses a type C connector, which is very specific in how it needs to be built.
unfortunately some companies care more about cheap parts than following standards, resulting in cables that can fry your charging port.
I suggest you take a look at Benson Leung's reviews.
https://plus.google.com/+BensonLeung/
https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/a...06-20&linkId=c6e15ee0d043426faa2aa32d72656baf
he regularly does in-depth tests and reviews on type C cables to see if they're safe, and many turn out to be bad.
Thank you
bought different cables in ebay for my note 8 and previous devices. just select the right brand. there are many cheap but branded cables out there. try to search for Choetech or Aukey. And make sure you selected the cable with 56k resistor as this is required for type c charging.

Magnetic Cable for Samsung Note 8[Exynos]

Hello!
I would like to ask, what are your best budget magnetic cables for Samsung Note 8 that supports fast charging?
I've come across this magnetic cable from AliExpress. I asked the seller if it supports fast charging for Note 8 and he says it does not, the cable only supports 2 amps.
Questions:
1. What is the best budget fast charging magnetic cable that you can recommend?
2. How many amps does Note 8 stock original cable can handle?
Thank you in advance!
Item from AliExpress (I can't post a link yet)

I have several magnetic cables, mostly because I want to prevent the port from wearing and debris , but all of them barely reach 1000 mAh, the original cable attains almost the 2000 mAh, btw, I never fast charge, to avoid batt degradation

I get all my cables from AliExpress. I only buy fast charging cables and this one works flawlessly:
WSKEN Lite 1 Magnetic USB Type C Cable
As for the stock cable, honestly, I've barely used it, since I find it really crappy compared to the ones I own and found on AliExpress. Here are some of my favorites should anyone be interested (non-magnetic though):
Rock
Baseus
uGreen
I use the Taslar Magnetic cable bought off Amazon. work well. its a braided cable, tangles less, hopefully frays less. a good buy so far. use it for 3 of my devices!
