Hi RAZRi owners,
I made an simple installer to flash TWRP Recovery 2.5 or CWM Recovery 6.0.1.9 or to restore Stock Recovery.
This installer is adapted from @mattlgroff CWM batch file. Thanks for his work : I only cleaned the code and adapted it to be used with TWRP !
Thanks to @turl1 for his CWM and to @Hazou for his TWRP.

Hai Lebobo, Thk for this TWRP & sorry to ask u here that I am using JB GB (Unlock & root) flash over RSD , then Omar rom & now Pillama0.8 , can i use mattgroff homemade fastboot to JB (91.2.26001.Retail.en.EU.zip) and then mattgroff homemade fastboot to ICS (81.5.39001.Retail.en.GB.zip - NOTE:must i use the ADB&FASTBOOT file from other JB folder-say- mattgroff homemade fastboot to JB (91.2.26001.Retail.en.EU.zip)
Switching between 2 anytime without any OTA update is ok right & it wont brick?
Thks

Hi, I never tried it but I think that you cannot downgrade from JB to ICS without risk of bricking your device... Then be careful!

If you have unlocked your bootloader and will be using one of Mattlgroff's homemade fastboot to downgrade to ICS you will be safe.

First this is in the wrong thread. Here we talk about the installer for Recovery's.
Second. The thing u are doing have as far as I know no one ever done. Changing the logo can get u a hard brick. And when u got it locked and unlock it again there is a hugh chance that u get the unlocking logo again. I can't help u with that, but maybe someone els. But pls make another thread about it

I think that is tricky. If u restore it wrong(e.g. an ICS on jb) u get a bricked phone. Just be glad that it works. When unlocking it is likely to get the same image back. Until someone can find a good logo that won't mess up your phone there is noving we can do about it.

Version 1.4 added. See first post.

Working?
Anyone tried new version? 1.3 didn't work for me. CWM is very slow, can someone tell if TWRP is faster and/or better?

Both of them are slow on x86 architecture... No workaround for thé moment...

[ROM] Official Sony Xperia ICS Beta ROM for arc S, ray, neo V

Hi .
Today we release an Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) beta ROM, as a follow up to the previously released ICS alpha ROM.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJbDl8aikUk
In line with our goal to support the open XDA developer community, we want to give you the chance to try out our coming upgrade to ICS (Android™ 4.0) in this beta version. While the ICS alpha ROM was an early preview, the ICS beta ROM have passed some certifications such as Modem type approval.
As with the alpha release you should have an unlocked boot loader http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com, and have the knowledge to switch between different ROMs.
Find the links to download the packages at Developer World.
Again we appreciate your feedback on the beta ROM in this small survey. Some of the improvements in the Beta release compared to the alpha release:
• Updated UI
• Updated Widget picker
• Lockscreen
• Connectivity turned on
• Updated email client
• Added quick dial
Lastly, we do follow the comments and new threads posted at XDA and we will very shortly release the open source archives for custom ROM community. I know the FreeXperia team working on CyanogenMod have made lot’s of progress on their custom ICS ROM and we try to support the team within the frames that we are allowed to operate.

nice work SE/Sony Dev team!
since i got the 2nd post here might as well make it useful
important info:
DooMLoRD said:
ok so i dont have much time so will make this quick...
if u are on any Xperia 2011 device other than ARC S, RAY, NEO V then DO NOT FLASH THIS... cross flashing is NOT recommended... wait for the devs of ur devices to port it and provide update.zips for easy flashing
make sure that u are on stock .42 firmware (though .58/.62 may also work)
the ZIP file provided by SE/Sony CANNOT BE FLASHED VIA RECOVERY!!!! extract its contents and read on how to individually flash each file
after individually flashing each file reboot device (fastboot reboot), wait for boot up and then power off device; then hotboot (fastboot boot boot.img) any kernel for UR DEVICE which has recovery ,e.g. latest CM9 kernel, remember HOTBOOT IT; DO NOT FLASH IT DIRECTLY... once device starts booting enter recovery and flash the packages u want (GAPPS, wifi/bt enabler, Superuser Fix)... after that reboot device... now u should be back on stock SE/Sony ICS Beta kernel and device should boot normally
those guys who were having gsm/keypad crashes on leaked ROM check if gsm/keypad works correctly on this build
i will keep monitoring this thread and provide inputs when i can

@SE/Sony Devs
why is the Xperia Play being left out always?
how do u expect ppl to get those devices if the vendor themselves dont support it... just releasing this ICS test roms ONLY for the "newest" phone models is not fair...
other devices should also be supported.... especially the totally different zeus board (R800i/R800a/R800x)...
@KalleD
im testing now,will report soon
can we all report in this thread rather than official survey by se,cause it feel comfortable here

to get FaceUnlock & Google Apps working, download the gapps-ics-20111230.zip file from the CM9 thread and hot boot (fastboot boot boot.img) any of my kernels/other kernels which have recovery and flash the gapps via recovery.... FaceUnlock should now work
regarding wifi/BT...
first try Bin4ry build.prop fix (just add two lines in build.prop) to get this working...
if that doesnt work check if the wifi modules (.ko) are there in /system/lib/modules/ also verify that the init.rc or init.semc.rc has the code to insert the modules at startup/bootup (insmod)
i am busy at the moment so dont have time to test this out

Error status 7 is an install script error for the ROM and /or recovery. You will need to look at your CWM log for the rom developer to fix the issue. Sometimes the install will complete, sometimes it won't. It's more than likely a permission error for a file that doesn't exist.
Also remember, newer CWM's also contain a newer kernel version to operate with the newer ROMs. You folks flashing some older roms will run into issues.
Other notice in the OP;
This Recovery will only support Ext4, Ext3 or Ext2 formatted Custom ROMs.
No RFS support has been included here.
So dont come with the issues when having any stock ROM or stock based RFS custom ROM installed.
The Device wont boot up

So this tells me, the CWM is right now only useful for installing KitKat roms? OP needs to clarify, cause right now, it looks like people are messing up their devices.

[URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219"]Restore NON-GPE firmware[/URL]
Q&A
-Why i don't have signal when i convert to GPE?
Well this is a know issue to fix it flash your stock fsg, don't know how? don't worry.. copy your stock fsg and put it in the tool folder, then press shift+right click and select open window promp here and paste the next code one by one:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
fastboot reboot
-I have done the previous steep and continue without signal!!
well, please go to this thread and flash your respective radio via recovery Flash radio using recovery
-Why i can't boot to recovery?
Remember in fastboot mode VolUp SELECT and VolDown SCROLL
-Why i can't install an apk using your tool?
Well, be sure that the apk name don't have spaces, and check if the path of your apk have spaces too... i suggest that: rename your apk (simpler name) EX. xxxxxx.apk (where xxxxx are the name) and move your apk to the desktop, then try again..
-How can i say thank you?
Just press the THANKS BUTTON
Very very cool man!
Will F2F file system of the stock Rom be changed to the GPE EXT4? I've heard that the GPE ext4 implimentation is inferior?
Nice work!
Would be cool if you can automate the root process within your tool.

Same question, but probably yes.
Another: can you will add an option about radio to choice which of them to use? Example my moto g has en.eu version so it will be good if i will to have an option to choice directly from your tool that radio and so on..
Thanks
I have some questions:
What is the right sequence to use this tool?
- unlock
- flash recovery
- root
- install the rom
Would this work?
Is it possible to unroot and lock the device again in order to be able to use future OTA updates from Google?
Thank you for your feedback.

You need unlock your bootloader first to use this tool,
Install the ROM
Install custom recovery
Push supersu
Boot into recovery and flash super su
If you want relock and unroot you need flash an stock image (4.4.2)... Why? Because this Images are unsigned and can't relock your boot loader
For the ota question,we dont now in this moment,we have all the necessary files to have ota, we need an ota upgrade and see if we can Install it direct from our device (we need stock recovery for this, I will add it)

Ok, cool.
Girlfriend always first!!!
Here is what I did:
I unlocked my Moto G
I flashed "Outside USA" image
I flashed CWM Recovery Error Message: mismatched partition size (recovery)
pushed SuperSu 2 SD
tried to reboot into recovery, but the Moto G rebootet normally and started the setup routine, what worked. But Moto G is not rooted.
What is my error? What did I wrong?
BTW: I have a German retail XT1032 8GB
Any ideas?

That error happens to some users sometimes but cwm should work well. You must ask in cwm thread for better support about this particular problem.

My Fault. I was using the wrong key in fastboot mode to enter CWM.
I pressed the power button instead of the volume up as described. Now all is working fine.I have Moto G GPE, unlocked and rooted!

No wonder..., you came from different firmware with this patch. This deodexer patch only for latest firmware.
Does this patch contain a kernel? I would like to use the stock kernel, but I have found no way of flashing without losing CWM and root.
The only way to get CWM working for me again is by flashing a custom kernel. Is there a way to keep it stock?
Thanks in advance!
:/
I have two problems:
1.- I go to settings and pressed in language & input, gives me force close
2.- I go to settings, accounts, and select google, and press sync, gives force close
Does anyone have this problem?
Sorry for my bad english
Just a QUERY...
dear rizal,
great and simple method... problem is can you HELP me how NOT TO LOSE CWM when i flash the new firmware using FLASHTOOL? I have only managed to root/CWM in JB 4.1.2, but i lose the root and CWM when i flash the new FM. Thus, your instructions are great and streamlined, BUT if I don't have CWM anymore, how can i flash your deodexed/zipaligned version?
sorry, i've just been splitting my android hairs, trying to root my LT25i (locked bootloader), when the old 'rooters' no longer work on this new FM.
thanks so much and will patiently wait for whatever you can suggest,
keep up the great androidz work,

[ROM][UB/LB][4.4.4][.283][Pre-Rooted] Xperia Z (C6603) 10.5.1.A.0.283 Generic

Hi Friends,
This is pre-rooted flashable stock ROM created from the FTF file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2872440 with @zxz0O0 's PRFCreator tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904
Features:
1. Based on stock ROM 10.5.1.A.0.283 Generic SG version
2. Pre-rooted
3. Latest SuperSU and dualrecovery are included
All I did is just download the firmware, create FTF file and then use PRFCreator tool to create this flashable ROM, apart from that I didn't touch anything in this ROM.
Information:
I compared with other stock version from other country, difference are in useless application, such as:
1. France version has one Diagnostics tool but this does not have
2. The 4G icon is 4G in Franch version, but this is LTE
3. The options for Mobile Mode is different, this version has 4 options (WCDMAonly+GSM only+WCDMA/GSM+LTE/WCDMA/GSM), and France version only have 3 options (4G/3G/2G+3G only+3G/2G)
NOTE: Unlocked bootloader works. I did not tested on locked bootloader, but someone tested it on locked bootloader
Installation:
1. Download this ROM and transfer to you Xperia Z
2. Reboot into your recovery and do clean (clean cache, data, system) installation
3. (Should not needed) In case you lost recovery after flash this ROM, just enable debugging and then on Windows/Linux use NUT's recovery installer (XZ-lockeddualrecovery-<version>.installer.zip) to install recovery.

i just tested this. flashed over a locked bootloader
and it works. booted up.
BE2 works as well.
-------------------
EDIT: apparently there's an image bug (nothing major) on the caller picture during a phone call (they have lines with the images)
so it was not clear.
EDIT2: seems like this bug only exists IF the user chooses to manually crop a photo through the album.
if it was sync-ed/edited with google accounts, the lines are gone.
(tested it by changing photos of one of my contacts with 2 different photos and then reverted back, no lines)
EDIT3: for the sdcard transfer, i was able to fix it via this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/fix-t2759826
(this fix is system level and not 3rd party apps via play store)
i was able to transfer files IN & OUT via wifi file transfer with this fix.
just follow the instructions
not sure if this is an issue on all 4.4.4

Was also a problem with the non-prepared stock ROM(s) of 4.4.2, have had to implement that fix before :silly:
Also, it appears you lose Recovery when installing this one (since it's not included in the ROM I guess?)
Otherwise works like a charm here up until now! (Unlocked Bootloader)

By default, volume down is TWR and Volume up is Philz recovery.

its weird because your rom is not the first stock rom that has lost its recovery by not being able to access through the volume buttons upon boot
BUT it can be accessed through NDRUtils app from play store.
but i am able to fix it by reinstalling a dual recovery version and i was able to access recovery via volume buttons.
so no worries there as it can be overwritten even by older versions (i prefer 2.6.3 as its a stable one)

Lol, completely screwed my system up by trying to do it by hand, then flashing wrong firmware to fix problem, etc.
Now, after half a nights work last night, finally up and running again [emoji12]
On another subject: another thing that seems to have improved, for me at least is the GSM signal strength! Had hardly no signal with 4.4.2 in the subway here in rotterdam (NL), but now signal seems almost twice as strong!
