It's possible seeing as how the N7 doesn't have an LED notification light like the N10.

Quite clearly all these idiots and their rumours didn't learn ANYTHING from this years Google I/O
There is nothing to suggest there is a new Nexus7.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I have never seen a Google tablet with notification led in the bottom.
So what is it?
A Google tease in my opinion, coming in July:

The Nexus 10 has a notification LED, but the video is definitely not of a N10.

I'd like a new N7 announced soon or I'm going to be tabletless.
I'm not buying a 1st Gen N7 again when the 2nd gen is on the horizon.
So by this image, it would be produced by Asus again? Was the N10 by Asus also?

It's just the N7 camera edited after filming. This commercial was done by an ad company and is rather un-Google (see the upside down Nexus 4 in the video!)

I already made this post, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2281024
yesterday...

Looks the same as the current Nexus, they probably just added the light through editing. Besides, would the new Nexus really have that light?

The N10 has the notification light, so maybe it would.

It is a N7. It's the light reflection in the camera lense. No editing or no secret device google is releasing in the future.
I have done quite a few videos for YouTube. Comedy skits mostly. It's pretty easy to tell what it is

Wat? It fades in and out. It's clearly an indication of a notification light. Sure, it might be fake. But it's not a reflection.

That fading is from the actor moving to pick up the device.

Noticeable differences in Nexus 7 build quality

My friend and I got our nexus 7 about a week apart at different Walmarts. While I was installing some apps on his that I thought would be useful, I noticed some very slight differences.
The one that stood out the most me was that his volume rocker and power button were more crisp than mine. Every time you pressed it, there was a snap back and an actual click sound, while with mine, the feedback is more mushy and doesn't make a noise at all unless I attempt to find a sweet spot for it lol. Also I noticed the aluminum bezel on his was much more angular to where you could almost scrap your skin with it , where as mine was more rounded. His screen would also shut down and wake up about a couple milliseconds before mine every single time. I chalked it up to him having less apps possibly.
Hope this doesn't come off as complaining cause I LOVE my nexus 7 and its flawless, no screen lift or anything. I just was wondering if anybody else noticed such discrepancies.
my power button is mushy but my volume rockers are perfect...also got mine at walmart
I got mine on initial release from google store and my volume and power buttons do make a clicking sound when they are pressed and they snap back well, no mushiness

My volume down is the only button that does not have the best feedback when pressed.

Our maybe they are just using it and noticing the flaws, if they have any.
Yes, I noticed the difference in buttons. I've had two nexus 7's. One with great buttons and the other with mushy buttons, especially the Power button, that almost sticks to the point where a normal press and release of the Power button triggers the Power Off option instead of just turning off the screen.

True... but there are manufacturing defects. 723 votes in the defective from store poll and over 500 votes in the type of defects poll. I know this is very small percentage, but these are active users on XDA excited about their new device and having problems, defects and seeking help.
Its a brilliant device no doubt, but I still think many here are waiting for its 3rd or 4th generation builds. I personally don't have the confidence (nor bandwidth) to chase a defective unit. Going to wait until March next year...
Worse thing is there is no official response from either GOOG or ASUS about the manufacturing defects, nobody has any idea exactly if there is an improvement in the new builds or its trial an error still. I cannot wait to get mine, but have decided to wait.

2) a really good optical illusion
3) reflection from the light box

I'm pretty certain if it was white the face(? lol) would be white too, it's probably just a reflection. Although in my local Phone Shop they have a Nexus 4 wall and it advertises black and white.

Thing is i bought my white GNexus from NEGRIEL ELECTRONICS for $600.00+ so even if they release a white one its going to cost almost double! so now theres 2 things u can do.. buy the black version and when/if the white comes out buy the 'back glass plate' separate and switch it oput buy unscrewing the screws on the bottom of the phone.. or just wait for the white version.
I believe theyll make a white version (see attached pix)

I am wondering if £220 is the price that Google sell it to the CPW for... that price showed up in their system a few days ago (before the launch).
Seems crazy to up the price by more than £100, but people will pay it. It is still quite cheap compare to other phones, if you don't know what Google sell it for...

This phone destroys the Nexus 7

I got a nexus 7 for Christmas and don't even use it because of my nexus 4. I mean sure it has a bigger screen but it's slower and with the latest Paranoid Android update the screen on my nexus 4 is better as well!
I have a top of the line laptop and top of the line smartphone. Where does a dated tablet belong in this scenario? Maybe I could use it to watch Dragon Ball Z at the gym. Or load it up with porn and use it as a mobile fap station.
I think I'm just going to sell it, what do you guys think I could get for it? It's a mint 32gb wifi model.

dont think theres anything right now the adreno 320 can't handle. i mean come on, the unreal engine demo (epic citadel) ran on 60 fps on the N4. so it doesn't really make any difference. and the screen on the nexus 4 is significantly better than on the nexus 7.

But a lot of games are optimized for tegra and have added effects and graphics. I don't think he meant that it can't handle it, the nexus 4 is way more powerful. But games look better on the nexus 7.

Yea colors, contrast, brightness and gamma.
Some people get lucky and get a screen they're satisfied with like yourself, but some of us aren't so lucky.
For example my N7s gamma is too high and everything is overly bright or has a bloom effect so to speak. Essentially making reading text a task. Stressful on my eyes, etc.

Then sir please explain me why the n4 which has a IPS LCD can be calibrated. The only reason we can't calibrate it is because the devs can't find an interface (kernel) to change the colors like it is with the n4 (or amoled devices) . Seems like nvidia and Asus went cheap on this one... I hope there will be some changes for the new Android version.

Calibrating this screen is simply not possible because the interface is not there. The only way to calibrate is using the specialized software from the factory, which we obviously don't have. It will never be possible in the kernel, unless google/asus adds it (unlikely).

Amoled always has calibration info to mess with due to how they work (no backlight) and their infancy requiring calibration.
Samsung devices almost always have calibration info, probably due to touchwiz and their display modes feature.
Nexus 4 users just got lucky. Google made a source change to emphasize yellows, leaving code for the devs to play with and now understand.

Hi Guys,
here an other one, combinated two pictures with a bit more sharpness.
A higher resolution is not possible with the hardware I get here, sorry for that! I think i could record a new image playing around with the camera frequency (=focus level) but i dont want to x-ray my phone 20 times to get an image which is a little bit less blurred.
regards
Thx. Makes for a great background.

Thank you!
I had never seen an x ray Smartphone
Why does this give me a boner? I think I have a problem.
