backspace out of there to advanced and hit mmsc change it to:
http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
then change DSS setting to
http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
mms proxy
not set (erase everything there) or 0.0.0.0
mms port
8080

Clarification on this, if you please....
Hey, great thread, this is exactly the question i need answered. However, i looked in my build.prop and it contains like only 1 line of the code you said to make it look like lol. Do I add the lines somewhere...? I have a Sprint Galaxy S4 Triband, model SPH-L720T running 5.0 Lollipop that i flashed to Verizon using my SafeLink phone as a donor. Everything works as it should except MMS. My build.prop is attached in a zip file if it helps anyone to be able to provide any assistance. =)

[Q] Cant send and recieve photo messages MMS

Hi
I am having trouble sending an recieving photo messages, i am on orange payg and have just spent 30min talking to them and they dont know thr reason why.
My APN settings are
Name Orange MMS
APN orangemms
Proxy not set
Port not set
User Name Orange
Password Multimedia
Server not set
MMSC ://mms.orange.co.uk (has http before it)
MMS Proxy 192.168.224.10
MMS Port 8080
MCC 234
MNC 33
Authentication type PAP
APN type mms
Is there anything wrong with this???
Have you tried selecting the 'Auto-retrieve' and 'Roaming auto-retrieve' in: Messaging > Settings > (scroll down) Multimedia message settings? As for sending, try enabling 'Data roaming' in Mobile network settings. I am thinking that because Orange/T-mobile have merged, maybe you are trying to send/receive the message over the old T-Mobile network. Just a thought. Hope it works for you.
I've got the same settings as you, except one minor difference, I have a / at the end of the mmsc (ie http://mms.orange.co.uk/)
I have exactly the same problem and have also tried phoning Orange. They just talked me through the settings but I was already set up correctly. Very annoying! I would love to hear of a solution to this problem.

I can confirm that this problem has been around for me long before the merger, basically since I got my phone back in July.
@FloridaK - I also have the slash at the end, but it's not working.

What is up with Bell's APN?

Ive been trying to use my Captivate with Bell. (Eclair, 2.1-update 1 from Odin)
I found the APN settings on Bell's site and they were forwarded to me by a tech support rep as well. In the "MMSC" box I am instructed to input this:
MMSC: 5778154
<a URL I'm guessing to be a server on the next line>
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
I'm sorry if it doesnt make a lot of sense but I can't post any links or images. The phone only gives me a one line text box for each value and no enter/return to put an extra line. Ive tried to input one or the other, tried adding spaces, ETC and I can't figure out a way to input this MMSC information. When I asked what the number meant and if it was entirely relevant (I could possibly just use the server?) The girl on the phone just kept saying "we don't support that" over and over again, and kept asking me to call Samsung.
Has anyone else successfully used a Captivate with Bell? If so, what does your APN settings look like? Thank you!
Bell Mobility
APN1: pda2.bell.ca
Leave the Username and Password blank.
APN2: pda2.bell.ca

APN: tfdata
MMSC: http://mms-tf.net
MMS PROXY: mms3.tracfone.com
MMS PORT: 80

That's the thing though. Yours is T-Mobile and not AT&T.

The issue lies in that AT&T has locked the ability to edit the APN Type field. Where you can normal type in: internet,mms,supl,hipri to get your MMS to work they have disabled the option. Those apps will not work. You need to follow the above mentioned comment and edit the system files with the correct settings.

lg g flex d950 att straight talk.apn type work around
1. First pull out sim(do not power down)
2. No apns will be shown as there is no sim but add new anyways.
3. Fill in using all data needed. Input (internet,mms,supl,hipri) for apn type.
4. Save new apn.
5. Turn off and put in sim. Then power on once in.
6. Do not use the new apn type, use the original straight talk apn. (The newly made apn is working behind the first apn.
6. That's it!

Edit the APN config

Greetings,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
You folks are way more advanced with phone mods than I am so I've never had anything useful to contribute. I've learned a lot from reading and re-reading, but now it's time to ask my question.
I bought a Droid Turbo from an on line reseller. I put it on my account through my regional carrier(Cellcom, Wisconsin). Voice in and out worked, data worked, SMS in and out worked, however MMS didn't work. After a bit of tinkering I found out Verizon cripples the phone by not allowing the APN configuration to be changed when used on another carrier's network. All the fields are greyed out, and there is no option to add another APN. I was hoping to use this phone on my contract with Cellcom, and have the ability to put in a GMS SIM when we travel to Canada. Everything else works great with the phone, just the ability to add or edit the APN config when on a non Verizon CDMA network.
The question(s):
1- If I Mofo root the phone(it's KitKat 4.4.4) and then flash the original Quark image I found by following several leads, will I be able to edit the APN .xml file(apns-conf.xml) through the phone or will that remain a protected system file?
2- If my only option will be to edit the APN config file before I flash to the phone, what(Windows) program can I use to extract the image file? I tried using ext2explore but it keeps crashing before it completly expands the entire files. What(Windows) program would I then use to recreate the image file in the format the phone needs?
I pulled the apns-conf.xml file from the phone. I can see the Verizon fields I need to change and I have the APN settings for the Cellcom network. I'm just stuck on getting it back to the phone.
Thanks
Hmmm. From what I came to understand, is that you *could* edit the apn once another Sim was insert. Apparently my understanding was in correct.
Tapped out from my Motorola Droid Turbo, featuring Android 5.1. Please pardon my brevity.
The ability to edit APNs was always greyed out no matter how I tried.
Went back to the store with a second phone; a Moto X Pure- got the same results- everything works except MMS.
After a lengthy phone conversation with Cellcom customer support today I learned they(Cellcom) flash something to their inventory phones that permits MMS on their network.
I now have a brand new Moto Maxx XT1250 which is identical in specs to the Droid Turbo XT1254. I picked this one up through Amazon. The Moto Maxx is the the Cellcom equivalent to the Verizon Droid Turbo. Since this one did not come through Cellcom, I'm told it most likely won't do MMS. I was told I could take it to one of two Cellcom service centers so they could flash whatever config they use, but there still would be no guarantee of 100% compatibility.
Ah well, I guess if I want to continue with Cellcom service I have to get my phones through them.
I got the APN to work with Cellcom.... MMS works again! Android 6.0.1
The facts:
Moto Maxx XT1250 from Cellcom (Wisconsin) not Israel
CyanogenMod 13.0-20161221 (Andriod 6.0.1) because Cellcom stopped supporting the phone and stopped at Android 5.0.1
All this broke the APN so no MMS. Called their support and they gave me the APN settings. However when I entered the MMC and MNC it broke again.
The fix:
Go into settings and find your APN modifications.
Locate the VZWINTERNET APN settings or make your own and modify it to these settings:
Name = Cellcom
APN = VZWINTERNET
Proxy = Not set
Port = Not set
Username = Not set
Password = Not set
Server = Not set
MMSC = http: // mms.cellcom.com/ cellom /mms. php ( Do not have spaces. XDA won't let me post this as it thinks it is a link. Put this as one line!)
MMS proxy = Not set
MMS port = Not set
MCC = 311 (this is the default, do not change it, this is what will break the APN profile. Cellcom Says to make it 310 but leave it)
MNC = 480 (this is the default, do not change it, this is what will break the APN profile. Cellcom Says to make it 600 but leave it)
Authentication type = Not set
APN type = default,mms,dun,supl
APN protocol = IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol = IPv4/IPv6
APN enable/disable = will be grayed out and cannot be modified
Bearer = Unspecified (you must turn off all the others and only check the box for Unspecified)
MVNO = SPN
MVNO value = Cellcom (this will auto populate when you change the MVNO to SPN)
Press the 3 dots upper right and click save. Reboot and enjoy MMS again!
I tested with the Cyanogen messaging app, Googles Messaging app, and Google Hangouts and the all work sending photos and multiple people texting.
Now will this work for other handsets or ROMs? I do not know. Please reply to the post with your results.

I purchased a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone but use it with Metro PCS.

For some unknown reason the phone will not open text or MMS messages. I thought since Metro PCS uses T-Mobile's network that there would be no issues. Is there a way to fix this? I can make phone calls and use other features but I can't open MMS messages.

Yeah, I was going to suggest checking your APN settings, but didn't know the correct values for MetroPCS.
