[Q] wifi tether to android device with vpn - HD7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello,
I have a 3G sim card in my Hd7. I tether this connection to a motorola xoom via wifi. I've installed a vpn client in my motorola Xoom, I can connect from Spain to a Usa server via Vpn, but I have a problem.... my phone operator in Spain (simyo), recognizes every kb I download througth vpn...
I need another Hotspot ?? another one without windows phone maybe?? I would like "free" internet on Xoom
thanks in advance

I'm sorry for saying this...
but it's the most funny question I've read!!!
Wifi Gratis, can be found on Burguer King, and many other restaurants and business', since you don't want to pay th internet that the HD7 has...
It's not a joke, that's the solution you want.
Good Luck.

VPN connection (PPTP)

Hi there. Please anyone if has info on this:
Have you ever managed to connect through VPN and PPTP on a windows VPN server? And if yes HOW?
I have tried thousand of times to set My work network settings and nothing...
Thanks in advance
P.S. It seems it tries the connection, on the server side i CAN see the connection established but from the mobile side it seems to drop..
have also had problems gave up in the end but would love to get this working, anyone got a top three list of best VPN clients
SO... its a telephone company GAME.. another one!!!
They DONT let VPN passthough..!!!!!!! If someone wants to connect with VPN to his office/home needs another packet to activate (Cosmote Greece) which costs the same as the internet connection!!! They just want our money!!!
If i try this connection (VPN) through wireless internet works just fine!!!

[Q] O2 Tethering and Nexus

Hi all, sorry if this has been answered already but i did search and couldn't find anything to this specification.
I have been using my nexus on the o2 network with unlimited data for a while and have tethered for as long as i have had it.
Recently i have had to rely solely on my phones tethering for internet as my home connection is down for upgrades. For some reason i can no longer tether it connects and windows even shows internet access is available but will not connect to any site.
Using cmd and pinging google it just says net connection refused.
Has o2 blocked my tethering? If so has anyone had this before?
Thanks in advance.
Does direct connection from the phone work? Try to browse a few sites on your phone.
If direct connection works and tethering doesn't - try USB tether, if it also doesn't - then you might be right, even though it sounds very unlikely to happen (technically).

Please help with VPN

Hello all. I have a samsung galaxy s gt-I900M phone and I am trying to make my paid VPN work on it. It's called VyprVPN and does work well on my pc and laptop but not on this phone. IT is a PPTP connection , and it will connect on the phone but as soon as I try to use the internet it just does nothing , I have been searching and reading all I can on this issue.
Does anyone know what I can do to make this vpn connection work ? If it matters i am on the bell network and have tried with 3G and with wifi and get the same thing. Thanks for any replies !!
Really ? Noone knows how to make a pptp vpn connection work on a galaxy s ?
That's not what u were asking. U were asking about making some obscure vpn work that no one has heard about. What do u expect. My pptp vpns with dd-wrt work fine.
Sent from my GT-I9000M using Tapatalk
obscure vpn ? Its just a regiular pptp vpn that works great on my laptop and desktop pc but refuses to work on the galaxy s. Like i said it connects but won't let me surf anything , for the first 2 seconds it starts to work and stops and won;t do anything again but stays connected. Its an issue with the android system not the vpn subscription , which is a popular one .
Did you do anything fancy to make yours work ?
FROM MY VPN PROVIDER ::
Thank you for contacting Technical Support!
We use public dns 4.2.2.2. So there should not be any issues with DNS. PPTP
is the only VPN connection we offer. Have you attempted contacting
Galaxys support to assure their phone does not have an over ride built in
or if one of your apps is causing interference? We have other users that
have gotten this to work as well as developers.
nope nothing special.. try turning off encryption..
from fbvpn.com :
android needs special settings, and its encryption has some bug.
we are going to setup a new server only for android phone
but it won't be very fast, not proper for watching video
and another thing, if you need to use PPTPVPN on android, your message is not encrypted.
The vpn's i have subscribed to all require encryption so when i turn it off , they wont even connect. Any suggestions for a vpn that will work without it?
all over wherever I search about vpn and galaxy s noone has any answers. its a dead end street , why cant we get someone working on this ? i would pay out of pocket to have the vpn working on my galaxy s
and i dont mean someone set one up in thier house with no encryption

Android L2TP/IPsec and PPTP bug

Sorry folks, i got a Vodafone branded droid (sim free) on my last trip to Germany.
Back to China am trying to figure out how to get a workaround our lovely chinese Firewall (Facebook and youtube etc). Unfortunatelly i cant find a way to either get L2TP IPsec nor PPTP working. I use 3G (wifi is utterly pointless on the road) and also couldnt get an idea where to find a root or mode with open vpn or ssl vpn set up. Any idea how to get any of those protocols working on a non rooted device or if not how to root it since other obstacle is that my device is not getting recognized on my PC (Win7 64bit) nor MacBook Pro.... bloody deal breaker so far. I guess thats one thing where iPhone or Windows mobile are much better in

[Q] How to connect to the internet via laptop

So to cut a long story short in just a few months I will be moving into halls again for university. The problem I face is they only offer a wired connection to the internet, no WIFI.
Because I'm on a very very very cheap contract on my SGS2 I don't get any free interent and so my last option is to connect it to the internet via my laptop.
I have searched around and found that an ad-hoc network isn't comptable and I have also downloaded conectify (free version) but without success with either.
Without rooting my phone is there a way to use my laptop to connect my phone to the internet? It would be a little upsetting to lose it while I'm in halls
Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be much appreciated!
