[EDIT - no barometer on H1 duh!] Anyone find a working barometer app? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I haven't found an app in the market that displays my htc one's barometer reading properly, or at all really. Is it just me?

I was not aware the One has a Barometer (you mean a barometric pressure sensor?)?

Yes, that's what I meant.
Well, that would certainly explain it, if it doesn't have one!
So it doesn't? Maybe I've been reading too many s4 vs h1 articles where it listed the s4 as having a barometer but didn't comment on the h1.

It doesnt have a temperature sensor

EDIT: Nope! Sorry for the confusion and silly question.

Proximity Sensor wakelock

Did anyone experience this issue? With GSam I found out that the Phone app keeps on using the prox. sensor after I hang up whichs drains the battery pretty fast.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=17383
They seem like they had the same Problem.

That issue related to Froyo! It is nearly 2 years old. It also has nothing to do with the proximity sensor.
Why do you think you have a proximity sensor related partial wakelock? Where's your evidence?
Because GSam showed that phone used proximity sensor for hours with over 1000 wakelocks... I just pointed out that this might be the same issue like in the link (maybe htc related, not android related). And I wanted to know if someone has the same issue..
If you would be able to read you would have noticed that the problem in the link was probably related to proximity sensor.

Sweet baby Jesus.
I can read. That's why I referenced it in my reply to you.
You make no sense and you're rude. Stick your problem, I'm done trying to help you.
I can live with that since you seem to have nothing valuable to say.

NoLED on HTC One?

Hello, I know this app is intended for AMOLED screens but is there any harm using it on LCD like the HTC One? Thanks
There probably won't be any harm but it will drain the battery. Unlike led screens where individual pixels light up, lcd screens have a backlight that lights up whenever something is displayed. Therefore battery drain will be the same as leaving the screen on.

Temperature sensor

Anybody know if there is a temperature sensor in the Z1 (like in SGS 4)?

With the kind of closed case needed for IP58-certification I reckon it would be hard to add an effective temperature sensor. And also, I have weather apps for that.
Thanks for all your answers. I just ask because I read Z1 would have it in some of the leaked spec. But it definitely look like a great device.

Download boost from S5?

Does anyone know if that would be a possible feature to port or imitate on our z1? Gotta say that is one feature that doesn't sound like a gimmick. Perhaps there is already an app that I couldn't find that already does this?

It's nothing new, an app called "Super Download" has been around since 2012 doing exactly the same. It can be found here.

This. People keep saying it's a hardware thing. No...nothing samsung does is a hardware thing. Heart rate monitor? Apps did the same thing for years. The fingerprint sensor and IR blaster is the only "hardware" thing that can't be replicated on other phones. (or have already been replicated)
Thanks!

Eh?
How does an app that pretends to scan your finger but just detects your touch come even remotely close to a real fingerprint scanner?

They don't, but some of them have a special way of touching them, kinda like a code, stupid but its as close as you get without the hardware

I assume you meant 4.4.2, not 4.2.2...? But I haven't even heard of Polar Beat before, so I can't help you.

Completely off-topic. Polar Beat is not a ROM, it's an app (which you could have found out in less than two seconds if you simply googled the name before posting).
Yes I meant 4.4.2!
Polar Beat is an app that works with Polar sport devices e.g. heart rate strap, Polar Loop, etc. However it works for Samsung, LG But not HTC.
Wonder anyone here can get it to work.
