As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experimental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

It's because the rom makers don't bother to change the model number since the t879 is exactly the same as the I717.. You can change it though by editing the build.prop

Even if you flash this to a T-Mobile SGH-T89?!!? I did not Flash the T-Mobile Raido and it works fine.
Pesky Assert 7 error
I keep getting the same assert error 7 issue with this and every JB rom I've attempted to flash. I'm using CWM Touch flashed through ODIN.along with the root enabled system rom from the goodies thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837907 Invariably, I can not seem to get around this issue. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I finally got this to work. I used TWRP2 for the SGH=879 flashed from CWM. I was then able to flash this rom and gapps. This is a great rom so far.

FYI Issue: I added Gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip manually. When I go to Avatar Updates in the phone and check for updates, it's telling me that there is an update for the same Gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip. It downloads it, but when I try to install it/apply the update it fails.
Any Help?

You already have the gapps downloaded... That update is not relevant.

I understand that it is not relevant..... So why is it thinking I need the update if I already have it?
Here is what is Happening. I tried to let it install on its own, and it will not, so I installed manually:
I get the following error:
Verifying filesystems
verifying partition sizes
Running boot script
Finished running boot script
finding update package
E: Can't open /sdcard/cmupdater/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
Just leave it alone?
Does this ROM allow 5 Wide on the APPS on the home screen(s). I could not find it if it is there. Also Is there a way we can create our own theme?
Awesome ROM So far, good battery life as well. Have it on 4 T879's and running Smooth as Butter (v3rsatile23) on all 4 so far! No complaints here. A few tweaks I'd like to see but that is probably just preference.

Not sure what you mean by five wide if your talking about on the dock then no because the is launcher dependent. You can always download another launcher from the play store. My favorite is nova launcher... As far as creating themes. No he said in another thread that there will be 50+ themes available Friday. I'm just sticking with the system theme.

No luck for me in Safestrap at all. It just keeps on rebooting, even when I put it in freshly rebuilt slot-1
Edit: So I went back in and did a factory reset again after applying the ROM and now it is booting.
Is bluetooth working? Wifi? Both camera? Recording video? Thank you.

No camera for D3 yet. When the camera does work in cm10.1 and other customs you wont have to ask. Everyone will know bcuz a worldwide party will have taken place.

I love MIUI so much and I have been waiting for a ROM with it to come out for the D3. Will be testing later today!
So since people are having luck with booting from safestrap, is it possible to use this rom alongside another, 2.3 rom? Like use this daily, but if I wanted camera functionality go boot into safestrap, switch roms, then reboot? sorry if its a noobish question, quite new to roms, only rooted and installed minimoto and havent played with it since, lol.

So since people are having luck with booting from safestrap, is it possible to use this rom alongside another, 2.3 rom? Like use this daily, but if I wanted camera functionality go boot into safestrap, switch roms, then reboot? sorry if its a noobish question, quite new to roms, only rooted and installed minimoto and havent played with it since, lol.

Okay, bear with me. I know to install the rom and stuff, I'll factory reset and all. but once I move minimoto to slot 2, install this one to slot 1, would I have to keep resetting when I switch, or just cache? Cause having to resetup everything like apps throught tb, contacts, etc. each time I switch roms would be a real pain and imo, not worth it haha.
Got this to run fine in SS on s-1, but have no data. Any hints on how to get 3g working?

If you install to two different ROM-slots, you're good. When you boot into safestrap, just pick a different ROM-slot to switch which ROM you are using. It's pretty much instant in SS3.05. So if you're using this and you want to take a picture, you reboot into safestrap, go to the ROM slot selection, click the one you want to use, click the activate button, reboot.

I have been having the same issue. No 3G for a while on the nightlies. I keep testing every couple of builds to see if it's working, but no luck yet. I'm not sure of the last build when it was working, but I think the last one I know worked for me was 03/07.

No, I do this quite often. Just restart Safestrap. Activate the other ROM slot. Restart the phone and it will be running exactly as you left it the last time that you powered off that slot. (So, if you haven't used it for weeks, you mau need to update a few apps from the market again, and wait for any changes that you made to contacts, calendars, etc., to sync down after the restart.)

Just installed this. So far everything seems to be working great! Working on restoring my apps now. Will test bluetooth when I leave work today. Fantastic work on this. Love having the look and theme capabilities of MIUI without sacrificing the functionality of CM that I love so much. Can wait to start playing with the themes!

You just need to flash your ROM and correct GAPPS which you can find in the original OP. I use safestrap and just flash ROM then GAPPS then wipe cache and reboot...

I've been running this ROM for almost 24 hours now and its pretty slick... I did notice a few things which seem to be pulled from some of the CM 10.1 issues, such as :
screen rotation not working
dock not working
Other than that, I haven't noticed anything else... The bluetooth had no trouble switching on and off and didn't seem to mess with my calls, my camera worked but I didn't get enough time to really play with the camera...
Thanks again Avatar, the MIUI feature is a fun little quirk... do they not come with custom sounds? Ringtones and notifications, cause that would be even more killer (just a suggestion)

Right, but presuming that this is based off CM 10.1, a patch for GSM to edit the build.prop is still required. I've since updated to JB firmware, and am still getting com.phone.android crashes on outgoing and incoming calls, rendering the ROM useless for me.

It's based on CM10.1 so it needs to be flashed on rom slot 1 only.

I've only been running Avatar for a day, but - WOW - this is a keeper! Incredibly stable, aside from some minor app crashes (which probably were my fault for not giving the rom time to stabilize and madly opening apps ) it runs smooth as butter!
I absolutely ADORE the Neutralyzed Theme - after finding a better wallpaper for it - it is pure elegance!
And it could just happen that for the first time since I own the D4 the battery lasts longer than a day - I'll find out soon enough.
I already liberated two ROM slots in Safestrap. Barring a major surprise, this will be my working ROM.
Now if only the annoying screen auto-rotate bug could be fixed I would be on cloud 9... currently on 8

Wiping is not required if you are coming from previous version of avatar rom. But you must flash the gapps again.

As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experiemental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

Just curious, how does the camera and Bluetooth work on this? Due to professional reasons, I can no longer flash anything and everything to test out and have to rely on the word of others instead.

Oh dear god, I'll be the one to state it.
<obvious>This ROM is a "remix" of Hashcode's official CM10.1. Any bugs from that ROM are (most likely) still present in this one. If you go to that ROM's thread and read a bit you will know the issues in this ROM too.</obvious >

Alright decided to make a change today and I have chosen this ROM to test out. First tried loading it up on ROM slot 2 with a 2gig data, but during the install it stated that it will only boot up in ROM slot 1 for right now. So I had to start all over and backup my DD on Slot 1 and install this one after wiping the slot clean. First impressions is I like the boot animation and the different themes available for the launcher. Simple and clean way to change the UI. The only issue I see so far is that the content on the external storage is showing the content of the internal storage. It only sees the internal storage on both mounting points which I won't be able to use this as a DD since I keep almost everything on my external sd card. Tried loading up my backups using TIBU and for some reason it doesn't see the directory on the internal storage, which might be just the issue with the way it is reading both internal and external storage. Went ahead and applied the update.zip file I created for my backups with TIBU and applied it through TWRP. Going to test more and report later if anything else comes up. So far it looks like small issues for now. As far as performance it is rock solid currently, and I will run it through the ringers to see if anything acts up. Thanks for keeping the Development on the Bionic. This by far is some awesome work.

I tested this one out on a buddies Bionic and its alot of fun, a few issues here and there which I have already informed Avatar about (screen rotation, car dock settings) but other than that, it seems snappy enough... I'll report back if I find anything else! Thanks again for givin us that simpson goodness...

Rotation seems to work great on my end. The car dock settings I believe are more or less a moto base thing. This ROM is AOSP based and I just don't think that the car dock is going to work on it.

You need to move your tibu folder to your external card. This is just the way tibu sees things on jb. Always has. Good luck!

That cannot be the reason since there was 2 TIBU folders that I had in place. The newer of the 2 I left on the internal and the 2nd one was a older one I created awhile back which I left on the external storage for safe keeping. I run a tablet with both 4.1.2 and also 4.2.2 and on both of them the backup had to be on the internal storage in order to have TIBU see them. That is how TIBU is setup because most smartphones out there only have the single storage area. Even if it is a SD card that is there main storage. Hell I even went a bit further into it and tryed restoring from a nandroid backup and it saw the TWRP folder with the ROM slots, but once I started the restoring process it force closed and crashed TIBU. That is why I ended up just using the update.zip method with TWRP and just disabled the flashplayer app after everything settled in.

Wow. I dunno man. Ive always moved them to external SD and tibu picks it up. There's also an option in tibu to select where u want to backup and restore from. I've never had this problem you're talking about though. Any jb roms I've ran will see backups on the external SD.

I figured it out. It seems that the directory was created and the backup was there, but for some reason or another the directory was empty :silly: . Went ahead and guided myself to the sdcard-ext and copied the 2nd backup to the internal storage and bam TIBU was back in business. It is still strange that when using ES file browser that both external and internal storage show up as sdcard0 where in the fstab that the internal is mounting as sdcard0 and external is being mounted as sdcard-ext. Just got to be cautious on which one I choose in ES when I start moving stuff around. Thanks in Advance.

Very cool, this project is very impressive, I can't wait to try.
The weebo thing is interesting, I could imagine an easily made export/import from tasker.
OTA updates sound pleasing as well. I see no reason so far this wouldn't be my new daily driver.
BTW, I know it's early but you've got a lot of typos and mistakes in your weebo web page.
And I'd love to be able to flash this in another ROM slot.

Installed this a couple days ago and it has been working great and fast till this morning. Twice now after the device goes to sleep it will not wake back up. I push the power button to turn screen on and only the bottom 4 buttons light up and i have to pull battery to get it back on. Any help?
Just finished flashing. I like the ability to swap and change themes very fast. The optimus prime theme looks fantastic. GPS lock issues as from CM 10.1 remain here as well but it's no biggie. I'm going to play with the themes for a little bit. Thank you for this rom

I was just thinking about this ROM last night. I'm upgrading to the HTC One from the Galaxy S3 next month and was hoping to have Avatar running on it. Sweet.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for taking the time to bring this over the Sprint HTC ONE! This look refreshingly different then a lot of other roms on here, mainly cause of the miui themes. THANKS!:good:

CyanogenMod RC5 merges.
Fixes in Theme chooser.
Launcher:
Grid size issue fixed across all devices and resolutions.
Transparency setting changed(1 to 10 transparency, also moved from general to Drawer).
Fixed the issue with the transparent fade animation while going from Apps to Widgets.
Fixed some crashes.
Weebo:
New UI for editing rules.
Shows a dialog if rule is broken. If the rule is fine, user can directly enable/disable the rule by tapping on it.
Weebo icon changed.
***If you need the functionality of flashing Avatar ROM and Gapps in ROMS <= 2.13b, you can push the CMUpdater.apk to /system/app. ***

I am currently on cm 10.1 nightlies. Could I simply load this in recovery and not have to fully wipe?... As if it was a cm update? Anyone try it?. Curious. But would hate to start from full reset status. Thanks

What is it?
Weebo is your very own googly eyed personal assistant, but with a twist. He does more than just take care of your reminders, he is able to automate your phone to a whole new level. Weebo lets you go about your life and focus on the more important things while silently and efficiently taking care of the tedious ones.
What is new?
Although Weebo does sport a brand new look, the changes do not remain skin deep. Weebo features many in depth changes so as to facilitate daily user interactions. After collating data and feedback from numerous users, we have finally been able to put forward a compelling and easy to user automation app for your android phones.
Some of the essentials –
Rule Editing
Now simpler and more nuanced, the rule editor screen is a joy to use, both for old users as well as new. Focusing on simplicity and ease of use, the new Rule editor allows you to do the following easily and without any hassle-
Edit the type of rule, and set a name for it
Icons for both adding conditions as well as actions, thus giving you easy visual cues while setting up a rule
Easier to make creative rules by mixing and matching different icons, and come up with new combinations
Broken Rule Indicators
As simple but useful feature, which as the name suggests, allows you to understand much more easily as to which rules are not functioning properly. In the screenshot, you will see this visual cue depicted as a broken arrow, thus letting you know that something might be wrong with that particular rule.
UI changes to Locations and Rules list screens
The locations screen now features an option to selectively see what rules are available for you to use. You can choose to see rules based on their particular conditions/usage functions. Initially we have provided the following – Al/Enabled/Disabled/Battery/Location/Sensor/Utility. Also featuring minor improvements is the Locations page, where you can track various different locations depending on your choice.

A move towards even more simplicity and ease of use by providing several UI/UX changes.

As CM10.1 has hit the general release, Avatar Team is branching with stable and nightly releases.
Stable releases are marked as 3.0. This is the first stable release from Avatar Team. Stable releases will be weekly or bi-weekly and will be tested extensively by our testing team.
Nightly releases will kickstart in a few days. We will merge CM changes every day and it will also contain experimental features from Avatar.
We highly recommend to wipe cache/data/dalvik before flashing the stable releases.

Love this ROM, thanks for keeping it updated. I have had far less issues on this one over the other CM10 based roms. Theme engine keeps things fresh on the phone. Surprised to see so few people have commented for such a wicked awesome rom! :good::good:

I'm having trouble finding the option to keep the hardware lights on. It's usually in "display" options, but I don't see it.
