u need to do jig?da fone really dead? i never heard such case rooting makes ur fone totally dead, i think u can do download mode by 3 combo button (home + voldown+power).if really juz root u do before its totally dead then there must be hardware faulty.
n there is UNBRICKABLE MOD for i9000, but slightly difficult to do.

Phone is completely dead. It doesn't even charging. No download mode neither recivery. Thats why I bought a jig usb but even with that is dead.

Hey guys,
My phone is acting weird..
I tried to install newer firmware using ODIN, it get stuck on factoryfs.img the fails. Tried doing a full wipe, gets stuck on formatting /data..
Looked around in the forum, im getting confused with other people issues.
I found a thread to not use cwm touch recovery... the problem is.. I used that.... could that be it? :S Is there anyone in the forum managed to find a solution?
Thanks

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback.
At the moment I'm flashing GB using Odin 1.85. It's not failing it's stuck on factoryfs.img, Ive been gone for 2 hours and still on factoryfs!
Did you perform a wipe while on the rooted ICS ?
It sounds like a probable brick..
Seems higher chances of bricked
If you have device under warranty, then claim it, otherwise

Does Odin recognizes your phone? You can flash Stock ROM with Odin if you cannot do it with Kies. Or you can use MobileOdin directly from your phone

Restore your backed up EFS folder ..
Fail to backup its a service centre paid for repair . Or you could try reading the hundreds of IMEI/EFS repair posts on XDA .

I have flashed CWM via RomManager multiple times, with no problems. You only brick your device if you flash CWM that is for other devices. You can't blame RomManager for your foolishness.
For install CWM via ROM manager you need stock rom with stock recovery and with root????

i dont know why the developers include Rom Manager even they know that it won't work and cause bricking problems

Help for mini-bricks
Like others, I wish I'd read this post before I hard-bricked my phone :crying:
In my case, I just selected the "Reboot into Recovery" option, where I planned to do a nandroid backup. The screen went black and I was hard-bricked.
Anyway, I thought this might be a good thread to repost the information that restored my galaxy mini to good health.
Remove the battery, SD card and sim card.
Hold down the "Download" key combination - Volume-down + Home + Power.
While continuing to hold all three down, insert the battery (almost impossible without a friend).
Continue to hold all three down, and in about a minute, you should get you into "Download" mode, from where you can use ODIN to re-flash your phone with a stock rom.
If this doesn't work at first, keep trying; I tried it several times without success, took it to a local techo who took it to a big city techo, and it was only when they both gave up that I tried this technique again in desperation - and fortunately this time it worked.
Also, the drama was not quite over yet for my phone. When I tried to flash a stock Gingerbread rom via Odin, it failed.
That was solved by first flashing ARM11boot_GT-S5570.tar (attached) in the "Boot" section (everything else blank except for TASS_V1 ops file, which is included in the standard rom). For more information, see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1588892
After that, I successfully flashed stock Gingerbread. And finally installed CWM Recovery properly following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342190&highlight=cwm+recovery
BE WARNED: On the thread about ARM11boot_GT-S5570.tar, there is a warning from kitrax59:
be careful on flashing the bootloader buddy.. it can hard brick your phone.. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK..

Anyway, I hope this helps someone else with a Rom Manager inspired hard-brick!

I'm guessing that a lot of these problems have a similar cause to mine, where I saw a reference to ClockWorkMod Recovery, searched for that on Google Play, and Rom Manager was the only relevant result returned.
There is an excellent guide to installing CWM Recovery by Bunnybugs_007 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342190
Just wondering if there is a "sticky" function on xda? Making threads such as this one and Bunnybugs' more prominent would save a lot of heartache and hard bricks.

If you used ROM manager and bricked your device. Theres no way. Give it to the service center and they would replace the motherboard.

I have done this, and yes, my note has reduced space. But my phone still freezes. Tried custom JB rom, stock JB roms, same problem.
And when i charge my phone, ill do it over night, phone shuts down when its full. But not always. So i got problems with my alarm, to wake me up in the morning. What should i do? Sorry for my bad english. Im from slovenia. Should i return to stock ICS from my provider and give them my phone for service on warranty??? Realy dont know what to do.

What version of I9070 you have?
If you have I9070, and you upgrated with I9070P firmware or if you have I9070P and you updated with I9070 - you hardbricked phone.
Can you go to recovery mode? If you can, do factory reset (in case you did not replace versions of firmware, and phone is not hardbricked).

I can't go to recovery mod. My model is I9070, stock ROM and ginggerbread( I don't really remember the version). Well, I think I flashed the wrong firmware and brick it.
