Pairing a PS3 controller? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have found a few older posts stating that you cannot pair the HTC One with a PS3 controller, but nothing particularly recent. I'm running the Android Revolution ROM that is based on Android 4.2.2. I also have a Wiimote and a Wii U Pro controller: I'd love to use any of the damn things on this device, mainly so I can connect the phone to my TV and play old NES and SNES games. Thanks in advance.

Still haven't seen any info. Anybody know how to do this?

I looked briefly into this about a week ago. Basically, we can't. I think there may be some ROMs out there that support the particular Bluetooth protocol we need, but Stock and AD 4.2.2 do not.

I tried doing this last week. HTC One can't pair with PS3 via BT. I tried it also with Sixaxis... and Sixaxis doesn't work with HTC One.
I did try the Apple Wireless Keyboard and Logitech Bluetooth Mouse on the One and they worked flawlessly.

That was on a sense based rom. CM roms work, I don't know about GE roms.

Thanks folks. Anybody know if a Wii U controller or other Bluetooth controllers will work? Mouse and keyboard are cool, but for old school games I want a controller.

HID support on DL30

Anyone else get a wii remote to work? Or do we not have HID support still?

froyo doesn't add hid support you have to get cm6 for it

The froyo release notes say it does, and people have reported that they've gotten bluetooth keyboards to work after DL30. But I'm not sure whether the wii remote is a standard HID device.

Because i'm impatient? haha... I just think it'd be nice to be able to play psx games again without touching the screen
I want HID!
I asked the same question on Eclair and everyone said Froyo would bring it.

Gamepad or controllers for dell streak 7???

IS there any gamepads that work with a WiFi only stock HC Dell streak 7 ? Or any xbox/ps3 controllers?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
I can say that I cant get my sixaxis to actually work with any streaks. After pairing it never actually detects it.
USB ones dont work as stock kernels dont support usb host mode.
Try a wiimote, mabye that'll work
Thanks I'll try, is there a video for the Wii one or a tutorial?

I read for the sixaxis it harms to be rooted,

Yes you need to be rooted to use the sixaxis, I tried the compability checker tool and it says it should work. But after pressing the go button it launches but never actually does the final step of detecting my sixaxis.
Oh ok, well post about it if it works out

I got my sixaxis working, I use a HC rom from dj steve. One tip I have after you use the PC pairing tool to enter the BT ID in. Look at the local BT address that sixaxis says your system is. Not quite sure, but think it showed me a different one then the system about page did. Then it was working.

Gamepads with Touchpad

I am fully aware that you can get a Official PS3 control pad to work on Android.
Using the USB method of contecting devices does anyone have a USB gamepad working?
Edit: If so which gamepads?
You can simply connect via Bluetooth
USB not Bluetooth

He's talking about using the OTH method, rather than the Bluetooth method.
As for any working, I have no idea, since I haven't made an OTG setup for my tablet yet. It's on my to-do list.

Yes I am talking about the OTG method. In my current location I really struggle to get anything so any advice on what I should buy to play games?
After checking all the threads I could find for those using various OTG setups, there do not seem to be any game controllers working that way. BT is going to be your best option here and there are several game pads that will work well with the touchpad.

I'm not sure specifically about the TP, but on my Nexus S, as long as you had ICS and a kernel that supported OTG, then there were a number of game pads you could use through OTG such as a wired 360 controller and some Logitech ones.
You can check the link in my sig for more info.
I'll try and test this out on my TP sometime this week when I get a chance.

HTC One & PS3

Has anyone been able to connect to ps3? I was trying to get a couple songs off the ps3 and it wouldn't show up as storage device like it does on pc. Anyone else notice this?

Sup Kao, I'm here trolling LOL
My PS3 knowledge is weak, but I don't think it functions as a DLNA server for connecting to. I think it can only connect to other devices acting as DLNA servers.

PS3 is not a media server, such is Windows, but it is able to stream from devices that are. It doesn't serve files but can stream media files from DLNA compliant devices / servers.

In order for your ps3 to read your files they need to be in specific folders. You need a ps3 folder in the root of the USB device with music, video and photo folders inside of it. And your music inside the music folder. Also the USB device needs to be formatted fat32

The one doesn't pick up in the ps3 at all naturally. I think I have to remedy this with the multi mount app

You would need this at least since the PS3 doesn't have an IR receiver. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/5732
I have one on the PS3 in the living room for my Harmony and briefly tried to it it up in the TV app but then quickly gave up.

No, I won't even bother because the HTC One doesn't allow UMS by default.

Yes all phones have had bluetooth for many years. The PS3 will only pair with headsets, keyboards, and mice via BT, outside of the controller/Move.

Bravia Sync allows you to control your PS3 with IR remotes through your TV. If you have a Bravia you can use your One to control your PS3.

You can actually use any brand TV that has control over HDMI as long as your PS3 is a Slim or newer.
Does anyone know of an app the would allow your phone to act as a Bluetooth controller for the PS3? This might let us control the media functions of the PS3 through the TV app. Just curious.

Anyone using a controller? If so, which one?

This phone runs emulators without a hitch, but I'd like to be able to use a controller vs the touch screen at times. I know there are issue with Sense-based ROMs with the SixAxis controllers. So what are you guys using?
