I'd really like to replace that Facebook logo with the stock jellybean boot animation but when I placed it and rebooted, the Facebook logo still appeared. Do I need to delete the Facebook logo first? Could you explain to me how to get it to work?
Sent from my HTC first using xda app-developers app

Copy htcboot.zip to computer then unzip. Place image in android folder and name it 1.png( used gimp). Then use 7zip and zip android folder and desc.text(make sure to set compression at store). Then copy new HTC_boot up.zip back to system/customize/resource/(used root explorer for this). Finally set permission s to rw-r-r.

First thanks to TrueBlue_Drew for EZ Splash Screen Flasher.
How to use:
1st do 1 to make sure your phone is seen
2nd do 6 to backup splash file
3rd do 2 to invert png must be 720 x 1280(pngs work better)
4th do 7 follow screen
Uploaded jelleybean splash img can be placed in place image here folder and skip #3
Hope this is close to what you wanted RCon227
No more FB splash or bootanimation.:victory:
Also upload EZ Splash Screen Flasher File and Pics

This thread inspired me to finally try to eradicate the Facebook logo at startup but I used a little different method. I simply downloaded a complete boot animation zip (tons of them on xda...) and copied it to the appropriate folder in es file explorer. Everything worked like a charm EXCEPT the damn Facebook logo shows up before the custom animation. This is even after the original boot animation zip is removed completely from the directory. Anyone have any insight on how to fix this?

That is the splash screen see post here about it and splash screen program

The original SplashFlasher is set up for 480×800. But this is easily adjusted.
The harder challenge I'm facing is that it doesn't convert the img file to png correctly. Anyone has a workaround for this?

Try converting IMG online first then use splashflasher to install. Had to convey jpg online first not thru splashflasher. Dry I wasn't clear on that.

Hate to bump a thread like this, but I can't seem to get rid of the Facebook logo. I can splash the new image and it will come up but the Facebook logo comes right afterwards. Any help would be great! I'm sure I'm just missing something.

This only changes the splash screen, the 2nd fb logo is actually the boot animation.

Boot Animations and Splash Images

I decided to make a compilation of boot animations and splash images and size them for our Aria. You must have root access to make these adjustments!! Read carefully
*I have only re-sized these animations and images; I did not create them.
Boot Animations:
If you have S-OFF, use a file explorer to open /system/media and replace the existing bootanimation.zip with the one you downloaded.
If you have S-ON, place the bootanimation.zip on the sdcard in no folder then open the Terminal Emulator and type this:
Code:
su
cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot

Love the HTC one, nice find.

Does it say cp: not found? (Like in the screen shot in post #42 here)
If so, then read post #43 on that same thread for the info.
Nope it says the thing is not found

When I type it in and hit the the enter button it seats the whole thing is not found. Do you need busy box installed to do this? Ill double check but I believe I do not have it installed
Edit I do have a busybox file in system/xbin but when I try and open it it says file type not found.

Which one are you trying to use? Also, I see you're using Evervolv. You may have to put it in a different directory for it to work. I don't know where that ROM stores its boot animation.

Hey,
thanks for those nice boot animations. I am using the ICS one at the moment and love it.
But one little issue: It loads each individual picture (frame) pretty slow the first time. Once loaded it plays the animation smoothly tho.
I am wondering if others are experiencing the same behavior or if this is how it's supposed to be.
Is the phone just too slow to play it right the first time?
Thanks
Yes everyone has that issue because it does have to load first. Happens with any boot animation.

i found a zip on the i9000 forums, except i guess the galaxys2 uses a different method of bootanimations, i get a bunch of files instead of a single bootanimation.zip like there would be on cappy..
Maybe the zip you found was the boot ani

Yea, I managed to get the bootanimation working after deleting bootanimation.zip on the cappy and then overwriting the files in media with the files i downloaded
but, before the boot screen loads, there is still the att screen and then a black SGH-i897 screen, I know how to remove the ATT screen, but how about the black SGh-i897 screen? and replace that with sgs gs2 screen?
thanks
I think the black i897 screen your talking about is built into the kernel.

Right there with ya. I'd like to change the black SGh-i897 screen as well.
The black SGH-I897 screen, as I know, is a splash screen of some kernels

[HOWTO!] Edit/Change Boot Animations For Dummies

Great! So this will be a brief info about how to install custom boot animations.
Basically, if you are on CM7, and when you boot, it shows LG, then it brings you to CM7's boot animation. You are basically changing CM7's boot animation to whatever you like.
Firstly, there are 3 methods you can use (Some pros and cons will be stated for each method)
1 - Flash the bootanimation.zip from CWM Recovery (Pros: Fast and quick Cons: Sometimes might not work. And zip requires itself to be flashable.)
2 - Download ROM Toolbox from Play Store (RECOMMENDED)(Pros. EASY. Cons: Limited Boot animations available.)
Steps: install the app. Slide to the interface tab and click boot animations. Install the one you like. PLEASE HAVE A NETWORK OR INTERNET)
3 - Manual Installation (HIGH RISK LEVEL)(Should it fail, something bad happens.) Copy the downloaded .zip to your /system/media. Replace the bootanimation.zip, means that the downloaded zip must be renamed to bootanimation.zip) (REBOOT AFTER REPLACE)
Thank me if you have read this

[Q] New Motorola Boot Animation on Razr i ???

Hello guys,
Is possible to change the current XT890 boot animation for the new one (MotoX and MotoG)?
I think the new boot animation is awesome!
Yes it is easy to do. Replace the bootanimation.zip in the system/media folder with the one u like. It is possible that u need to resize all the pictures in the zip to the format of our phone to get it nice on the screen.
