Roy, mind if I include this in my next update? This is the #1 thing that annoys me the most about this phone. I listen to my podcasts all day at work, and during breaks, meetings and such, I unplug my headphones and each time I plug em back n, i get that stupid popup. So for me, this is awesome thanks alot man

Deodexed might work but I wouldn't advise it. Odexed definitely won't work.

I flashed the odex version on odexed mf9 and it worked but it broke some vibration features. The vibration still worked for incoming calls when on silent. The problem occurs or rather didn't when you turn vibration on. Normally the phone would vibrate when selecting vibrate mode from quick settings or when turning the ringer volume all the way down to let you know it's in vibrate mode. Flashing this mod broke that feature. I ended up reflashing the Rom to remove the mod. Is there anyway to fix this so it only disables the volume warning and has no effect on the vibration notification when setting that mode? Thanks!

is there a mod that prevents the volume level from
resetting back to 75% every single time i plug in the headphones! I want the volume level to stay static because i use headphones a lot and it would be nice if i didn't have to keep raising the volume every time i plug in. thanks.

it's a safe headset thing so you don't blast your ears. i know cyanogen and a couple other roms give you the option to disable this feature and have the volume stay where it you last set it, but those roms cause other problems so i haven't installed. I just found a couple apps that "lock the volume" but this means that even though it doesn't reset, it also locks in so you can't change the levels.

[MOD] Navigation Bar for Epic on CM10

I really like the Nexus-style NavBar, but the default height when I set the "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" value in build.prop is too high at 48 px. I created a flashable zip for the Epic on CM10 that sets the height to 36px. It does not automatically add the "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" value though, you have to do that yourself.
This mod was created using the framework-res.apk from the cm-10-20130120-NIGHTLY-epicmtd build.I can confirm it works with that one, but it may (or may not) work with earlier builds. Make sure you have a backup
Installation
Edit system/build.prop to add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
Reboot/flash the zip
Hope you like it.
Special thanks to Ahmedabad for the guide on editing framework-res.apk and to Jamshedpur for the guide on using apktool.
Another cool thing I discovered is that once you add "qemu-hw.mainkeys=0" to build.prop and reboot, the System settings > System menu now displays a "Navigation Bar" option. You can add and modify your buttons there!
I added a search button, and made the menu button display all the time, and not by application. I'm loving CM10 more every day!
I'm using cm-10-20130120-NIGHTLY-epicmtd and when I flash this my phone won't boot :/ :silly:

That will do it! I have a zip for that one too - the only problem is that in landscape mode, the buttons think the screen is taller than it is, and the buttons seem far apart. It works great in regular portrait mode, though. Here, give it a try and let me know if you like it.

There was already a mod linked in the 10.1 thread. It looks like a case of multiple people working on it. When there wasn't a link to a working framework-res the one in this thread worked. When there wasn't one in this thread, the one in the 10.1 worked.

[KERNEL][STOCK][OTA]Sprint ONE Kernel From 5-16 1.29.651.10 OTA

Hi guys! This is an unmodified Stock Kernel Pulled from the OTA by Damage_Them with instructions from several well known devs here.
I am simply posting it as it FIXES THE HOME AND BACK TOUCH BUTTONS.
Please enjoy. You are more than welcome to look through the .zip and make sure you are comfortable flashing it.
I have flashed it several times with no issue. The updater script is a modified version (only UI messages are different) of the one Thicklizard supplies in his kernel releases.
No one mentioned, including myself, is responsible for any damage to your device.
Altthough I am perfectly sure this zip is safe:
FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK
Thank you
Ok, added the necessary files to fix the camera. Tested on Badseed RLS 2 and everything seems to be working.
Be sure to wipe cache/dalvik-cache.
Make sure to update your Profile and PRL.
Your kernel should read 3.4.10-g3adc80e

I never had much issue before, but then I put on a screen protector and noticed how bad they were sometimes.

Anyone else having this problem on any other Rom? Please let me know if so.
I was actually on Badseed RLS1 when I tested this. There may be a conflict on RLS2.
The Badseed crew is BadASS and after flashing RLS2, my home and back buttons seem to be working just fine, so I am running the kernel that came with it.
Maybe they incorporated something in the ROM already?

Did you use the file for odex roms or deodex? I want to help correct this issue.
EDIT: This is a known issue for the Lidroid 14 toggle mod but it works fine for me.
I used odex file everything was same only the usb notification was gone.

[ ROM ] Stock Rooted 4.4.1 KOT49E [ Init.d support | Deodex zip attached ]

Since I haven't seen any post this yet, here's a stock rooted 4.4.1/KOT49E ROM. Includes root, busybox, init.d support and I made the kernel insecure, so adb remount, etc work. For those that want a deodexed system, just flash the zip below and yes, the ROM will still be ART compatible.

Calkulin's 4.4+ Deodex System.zip
Thanks. Will try it when I get home. I have a question though. Is there a way to boost the volume while listening to music through headphones like Cyanogenmod's DSP manager? I have never been able to figure that one out and end up going back to CM.

I'm downloading the rom now. The deodex link is broken though

You should get faux123s, or mat1x's kernels. They both have faux123s sound addition which has speaker,& headphone amps that are adjustable. It's a revelation

It's a script not a ROM, so the size is right

.v1 Lite
All sounds boosted by 4, I choose to increase by only 4 as I felt this gave a great boost to the stock level without sound distortion.
from feedback this is the best/perfect level of sound
.v2 Medium
All sounds boosted by 5, Medium Level sound increase. personally untested due lite is best for me.
.v3 Extra Loud
All sounds boosted by 6, Extra Loud Level sound increase. personally untested, could cause a crackle sound when music, ringtone etc is
played.
.v4 Lite + Headphone Increase
Same as Lite, apart the headphone volume is increased slightly more, tested and is ok for a boost to your tunes
It would be a good idea to do a nandroid backup before hand.
Any problems please reply, and flash the restore to get back to stock level
Easy flash guide:
Drop .zip onto internal or ext storage
and flash with recovery.
Hope you like, and any questions please ask

As I understand it, we don't have a recovery for our device yet. I like this idea (lord knows Samsung will always leave their system levels too low), but I have no idea how we'd flash it until we have a recovery.

have you tried using stock recovery to flash this zip file?

I have seen in the stock recovery where it will flash an 'update.zip' but have always assumed that was for full system ROM updates from Samsung/AT&T. I've never seen a way to flash mods or ROMs without a custom recovery.

do not try anything stupid that can miss your phone with recovery
i posted on how to make this work please read
download the vol mod you like
extract the mixer_path.xml
copy paste it over system/ect with root explorer
set permission to rw-r--r--
and reboot
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
To save anybody any time that makes the same mistake I did, set permissions to rw r r after you copy and paste the file you extract, I did it before and nit after and my s5 wouldn't play any music or open the music app...once I got it though it works flawlessly thnx, for posting this...

Easy enough. .. works good but even .v1 gives me distortion. . Any way I can only increase max by 3 instead of four?

The file had mixer_paths.xml (rather than mixer.xml), so I assumed that was what needed extracting (/system/etc also had mixer_paths.xml rather than mixer.xml). Thanks for posting, I'll assume it worked, but will check in my car later.

Thanks, it seems to be working fine. Now if I could just find an equalizer app that really works globally. Some claim to do so, but I keep running into problems where I need to kill all media apps and the equalizer app, then restart the equalizer app before starting a media app in order for the equalizer to actually do anything.

This works on the Active. Sounds great and loud. V1 with no edits. If you feel its a little distorted, just volume down one button. Its perfect.
Thanks for this OP !!!!
