[Q] Hangout Video/Voice Call

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 with Google Hangouts installed.
It seems I cannot use video/voice call on hangouts. It shows the message "Video call not supported in this phone". I guess its because ace doesn't have a front facing camera. Is there any way to make it work?

no as we dont have front camera
also in apps and games section you can find few apps with which you can do so

yeah my brother i am saying that in apps and games section of ace you will find some apps with which you can do video calls and voice also

No, I asked for hangout specifically because, I use hangout for web-to-web video call a lot and I just wanted to know if the mobile app can be used for atleast a voice call.

i never use hangout but the apps which i am telling about can be used for both things if i am not wrong

How to enable internet on stock rom rooted

I have my galaxy gear rooted but I'm on stock rom. My S3 also has bluetooth tether enabled.
Can anyone show me how to enable the internet on my galaxy gear? Thanks and I don't want to install null rom.

You need to know how to add Bluetooth profiles

How come? I think if it can be done on null it must be a way on stock.

What you call "stock" is actually a neutered version of Android. Neutered to prevent people from doing exactly just want you're attempting to do.
Rooting then installing Null restores this functionality.
The functions were removed from Gear for good reason. The battery can only sustain 2 hours of screen time, if the engineers at Samsung left the Android functions open, people would run out of power before the end of lunch and a huge publicity stink would ensue.

Thank you. Well in that case, there is really no difference between rooted and UN rooted. All I want to do is instead of showing notification from my text app I want to reply it but that need internet I guess.

If you have a Samsung phone just use s voice to reply.

Gear S on N6

I own a Moto360 (great watch) and Gear S & 2 but posting the Gear 2 on Craig's List this week. Will the Gear S work when I get the N6 this month?
I am thinking no but was not sure if I could use TB and backup Gear software and restore it on the N6 and work...I have seen post of the Android Wear devices working fine...
Anyone with a Gear running Tizen using the N6?

You can get Samsung smart watches to work on non Samsung phones. Keep in mine if you manually install it by moving to system/app then it should work. I did this for my gear fit on my G3. You won't necessarily get all of the same functionality as with a Samsung phone from what I recall. Its worth a try to see what works and what doesn't.

I'd just get a smart watch I knew would work...rather than spend a pile of money on something that I knew going in would never quite work fully no matter what.

No I don't have them anymore. I just side loaded the Samsung app.. I think it's floating around the forum if you search Google for it. If I can find it ill lots it up for you.

Thx...did you get this to work on N6 lollipop?

I am also trying this. All i get right now is "Unfortunately, HostManager has stopped" And it wont go past this. Any ideas?

I've tried two different ways of sideloading on the n6 5.11 with no luck

Yep, it should be there. :good: At least that's what I've heard from people who have had some time with review units.

It does, it's positioned in the middle of the notch near the top between the earpiece/speaker and the camera. It's not very bright but it's there. I currently have a review unit so let me know if you've any more questions!

I haven't tried it out yet unfortunately but I was told that it has it.

From my time with it so far, I don't see any setting for double tap to wake so I don't think it's a feature to be honest. I will say, the Face Unlock is incredibly fast and works in very dark scenarios also which is good. The fingerprint scanner on the front is also extremely fast to use.

Will keep this and let you know I get on. I went into a phone shop today and got to play with the P20 for a few minutes. My impression was positive. I can also confirm the LED notification. Screen estate on the P20 is great so can imagine the P20 pro is even better. I have to say that the IPS screen on the P20 was also really good (even with a black wallpaper) so can imagine the P20 pro being even better with a black wallpaper given it is AMOLED.
The phone felt snappy. The only concern I had was around the placement of the fingerprint being so low at the front. I'm sure there will be ways to get used to this and also the face unlock to make things easy.

Can anyone check the Widevine DRM level for Netflix/Amazon Prime HD streaming? I hope its level 1 as its not a cheap device.

YouTube needs the sideloaded app, but Netflix works with HDR (it doesn't on the Mate 10 Pro).

Yes, it shows as Level 1.

Note 10 just got released, What features with or without root can we port from it?

The Note 10 got released and it has some new features like the new Dex which only needs your charging cable. Samsung says it won't work for S10's Also some camera improvements which the sensors are the same except for the 4th depth in the back as well a few other things which all seem to be just software enhancements.
With or without root, what can port over. Would really like the improved Dex because I don't want to have to get a Dex pad or cable etc. I don't see why Samsung is saying the new Dex won't work with S10's since that and the Note 10 have the same hardware pretty much.

I think live focus may require the time of flight sensor which we don't have unless it's the 5g version

Hey, note 10 got livefocus video for front facing camera even if it doesnt have a ToF sensor. THATS ABSOLUTELY UNFAIR
