ZL to Buy from UK - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know a UK based place to buy the ZL. Don't want to get hit with customs and there charges by buying outside.

A few sellers on Amazon have the ZL in stock. Expansys don't seem to have it.

How is the Z selling in your country?

There hasn't been a peep about Xperia Z sales yet. It's been out for more than a month now! So let's go with anecdotal evidence!
Not sure about the demand but there are quiet a lot of stock around in Australia with very goid price at AU$624.

Officially, no idea but I'm the single IT technician in a company of 300. I got the S2 on the first day and within a few weeks talked around 30 people into buying one. So far I've converted 20 to the Xperia Z.
It's a brilliant phone and not had any of the launcher issues (or any other problems) reported.
Low number of ROM's seems an indicator for devs preference but that may change after reading CM have announced no support for the S4.

i think its very good selling...i was on the way to buy Xperia Z and saw already 3 people with that phone...and in my county it had been just launched
Selling like hotcakes in India.

In montenegro I have to wait a lot of time till the phone is available, and not in a sony store, but I have to custom order it from shady phone shops
In Vietnam SONY start selling Xperia Z (C6602) on 30 Apr. Pre-order on 20 March (First 500 will receive MW1 and 4 smart tag or SRS-BTV5 and 4 smart tags).
Price is good too ($800)!
In Australia Melbourne chadstone shopping Centre
Vodafone and Optus sold out, getting more stock next week.
I didn't ask Telstra probably the same

Have you tried JB Hifi? They sell outright the Telstra stock with the same price $624.
shortages in every polish operator.
you have to wait sometimes a week or more.
In Hong Kong the purple Xperia Z is selling especially well, and you'll have to wait until the next batch to get it. Black or white versions are in stock.

They are pushing the Xperia Z vehemently in india. In my City they have posters everywhere and kiosks across malls to portray the Xperia Z's waterproofing capabilities. As much as Samsung rules the smartphone world, they are not a scratch on Sony coming to marketing terms. Walkman,Exmor R,cybershot, Playstation, bravia. They are exploring every opportunity, including keeping the phone submerged in a water tank for people to test.
Thanks for the reports guys. So it seems from these anecdotal reports that it's selling very well indeed.
On Instagram I see a lot of people posting their new Z from Europe and Southeast Asia. Particularly popular in UK, Hong Kong, Middle East countries, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Not a lot of Instagram posts yet from India, but I will take our Indian friends' words!

i already got the phone from sony centre nunawading :good:
just mentioning it to the community.
It's sold out in the Sony stores in Auckland, NZ.
Singapore has a hard time keeping purple in stock.

Could it be because the purple Z's are made in smaller batches? Or is it just a really popular color?
A lil old..but for those asking for sales -

I have simply ordered it via http://getpebble.com in the USA and they ship from Singeapore
After 2 weeks i got a message that it was delivered in the Netherlands. Now i'm waiting for the Customs and delivery.
So this should work for you too.

If there was an European selling point, it would charge you the VAT anyway. So just order on getpebble.com and pay 150 dollars and your VAT and handling fee, or don't order a Pebble if you feel those taxes and fees are too much.
Verstuurd vanaf mijn Xperia Z
I live in Slovakia. Ordered from getpebble.com. It costed exactly 109 EUR (150 USD) including shipping. Watch arrived from Singapore in 5 days.
Package was not intercepted by customs office.
The official site won't overcharge you. Only thing you will be missing is the standard EU warranty.
You have to pay VAT in Romania. Might be different in every country.

You have to pay customs in the UK too, but somehkw I received it yesterday without the added custom charges.
So it only cost like 90 quid. I consider myself very lucky.
I got two of them for $150. They replaced first one because of screen glitches and didn't ask to send broken one back.

I paid £93 for mine. It came from Singapore.

To be honest it is better than I expected, and was easier to setup the way I want than I thought.
Go for it
Anyone from Poland got it from getpebble.com? What range of VAT/customs can I expect? I've seen some very inconsistent comments on some polish forums. Some paid none (not even VAT!), some paid VAT and customs.
Also - how it looks like when it gets broken? Do i need to send it back at my own expense? I admit this is what is holding me right now for buying Pebble, and i strongly consider Sony SW2 instead (as i have it in my local brick'n'mortar shops, so if it gets broken i can easily put it back).

Ask pebble support about it i'm sure they reply.
You get another one if broken. No cost at all.

The problem is not VAT but the delivery company charging cost

My experience buying out of the UE (from Spain) is that the delivery company charges a lot more than taxes. For example, for a tablet delivered from China, I paid: 190€ for the tablet + 10€ for delivery + 38€VAT + 90€ for administrative costs. A similar thing had happened years before with some books from amazon.com.
I never expected to pay so much but the trick is that they already have your product hijacked, you have paid for it and you can not complaint to the provider because he have already said you have to pay taxes... I have promised myself never to buy anything from outside EU again.
Ordered yesterday from Italy with free shipping ... I will see what happens and I'll report back ... in my previously experiences in buying from outside EU I've been lucky ... I never paid for VAT or customs ... finger crossed!

I would buy direct from Sony. There is a part in the terms and conditions that say if you do not buy it from a authorised Sony reseller, then the warranty may not be valid.
I bought mine off ebay. Its now been 5 weeks and its still not back. I'd never do that again!
If you're a student or college faculty member, you can buy from Sony for 10% off (I think). So it'll be around $585
EDIT: only on the Sony USA store...

New Zealand only offer apple discounts.. however often big franchise stores have more discounts.

well i am a student but i don't live/study in usa, just there for a visit... can i still get it??
plus the company who imports sony to israel (where i live) does not respect international sony warrenty, only devices bought directly from them... so it's no use to me either way...
Wheres reliable source to buy a c6906 in the US?

Amazon doesn't charge tax also, I have a like new Z1 white 6903 listed on amazon for 568+shipping
there's another idiot who has a NEW one selling for 579+59 shipping, giving customers the impression that a NEW one is that cheap but it's actually at least $600 new. Pisses me off, I remember when ebay was full of those listings where the price is low but the shipping is expensive

Cell Phone Accessories Website

Has anyone ordered from tvc-mall.com ? If so how long did it take to get the product.
I think I ordered a battery from that website before. Anything from China to USA takes 10+ days. If you cant wait most things can be found on eBay from USA sellers for a buck or two more.

is there a website to trade phones? looking for z1 or z1s

is there a website to trade phones? I have a nexus 5 and just passes my 15 day return deadline. I really want this z1 or z1s.
You can try Swappa.com , they aren't just trade devices, they're for sale mostly but it's all sellers like u and me. People who r into tech and on places like Xda. You'll have to read their policy on trades but I know they do allow it.
