[APP]-EE Cash on Tap - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have managed to acquire the EE cash on Tap- contactless payment App. This App was only released to work on S3 Lte, S4 and Xperia SP. I have tried to install the apk which was backed up by my friend from his S4 but it does not install. Can someone have a look at it and figure out a way to get it working on H1.

It will only work on the supported devices - cash on tap validates your phone's firmware (amongst other things) and then allows you to download the tap wallet, which enables the NFC service. Apparently the tap wallets are device specific.
I own an SP and I can't use ths on custom firmware (though I got around this by restoring a working backup that had been installed on stock firmware).

Is there a APP that allows you to switch off the phone instead of using the hard button on the side ?
Example: A widget - when pressed switches off the phone.
Something similar to Quick Reboot but a power/shut down app.

I believe Switch Pro has that feature. But you need root for that.

try quick boot works for me has options for
reboot, recover or bootloader.. but not shutdown
there are a lot of apps that do reboot, Toolbox, toolbox to name a few that i actually have, but that's a good question for the shutdown.
Hmmmm, I searched high and low and found one hopefully, over at android forums. Gotta register first then i'll have a look later.

Has anyone found detail about the contents or difference in the latest: 1.08.502.4?
Anyone know why, when trying to install RUU_MYST_UL_Cingular_US_1.08.502.4_Radio_1.19.40.00.09_10.69.40.33IL_release_327090_signed_2.exe on an HTC First running the JmzMystJBSense, the device wouldn't be detected? Just trying to completely revert to stock here; if I try to rooted stock ROM would the RUU installer then work?
Do you just have to push this to the phone and flash in recovery?

I would if I could unpack it, but looking at the cache when the RUU's .exe runs gives me a zip that seems to be bad.

[Q] NFC chip

I am intending to buy this phone but want to clarify 1 detail before buying.
Does anyone know which NFC chipset this phone uses? Is it the NXP PN65N?
I need this information because I want to be able to write to Mifare classic 1K cards and only NXP chipsets support it while Broadcom ones doesnt.
Thanks in advance
Hope this helps

Took the plunge and bought it. After running some checks, I have confirmed that it is using a NXP chip and can read mifare classic cards.
For future reference in case anyone wants to find out about it.

Sony underwater apps

Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but Sony have released "underwater apps" to show off the complexity of the microphone, and water proof-ness (??) of the Z range of phones.
Bit pointless, but quite cool at the same time

The Z2 is not waterproof... must have missed something.
We probably need to change the phone model in build.prop to test this.

DeBranding a Sprint Phone

This came from a Samsung S7 forum, but it looks like it works on my phone. I stopped just short of any changes. But it was definitely ready to do something.

I doubt it does anything other than reset a phone for resale, say refurbished phones. Reset the phone in the phone settings to wipe it, then type this command to reset the provisions etc. Put it in box for the next customer to turn on and have a new phone experience. I hope I am wrong, but this would be too easy...
It didn't do much at all. Same thing as ##SCRTN# as far as I can tell.
Another idea, with the A9 you could s-off then change MID and CID to match US dev edition (or whatever) then run the RUU for that
I've personally tried this on M9 (not A9) and was somewhat successful (Sprint radio was needed to get reception working).
Just a thought to get ride or that Sprint-ware....
