[GUIDE]Update Samsung Galaxy Music Duos S6012 to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 AND Root it - Samsung Galaxy Music

UPDATE YOUR SAMSUNG GALAXY MUSIC DUOS to OFFICIAL JELLY BEAN 4.1.2
Samsung has started rolling out the long-rumored but never officially-confirmed Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy Music Duos. Right now, it has been released only for Greece/Baltic region, but users around the world can easily download it and flash their devices.
Below find a complete step-by-step tutorial to update your Samsung Galaxy Music Duos S6012 to Jelly Bean 4.1.2:
[STANDARD DISCLAIMER: THIS IS A FAIRLY EASY GUIDE TO FOLLOW AND YOU SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS UPGRADING YOUR PHONE. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IN THE EVENT THAT SOMETHING GOES WRONG AND/OR YOU 'BRICK' YOUR DEVICE.]
First off, download the following files
ODIN 3.07: https://www.copy.com/s/wSEoPPbzYXmF/AndroidJinn.com_Odin307.zip
Samsung Firmware: NEW: GET THE LATEST (Jan 2014) 4.1.2 SAMSUNG FIRMWARE FOR EUROPE (GREECE) FROM HERE
METHOD TO INSTALL ON YOUR PHONE REMAINS THE SAME
EXTRACT BOTH THESE FILES TO YOUR DESKTOP. YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE TWO NEW FOLDERS ON YOUR DESKTOP.
HOW TO UPDATE:
Step 1:
Turn off your phone. Wait a few seconds, the phone will vibrate to confirm that it is fully switched off. Connect your Galaxy Music S6012 to a USB port on your PC using the ORIGINAL SAMSUNG USB cable that came with your device.
Step 2:
Go to Odin3 v3.07.exe that you have previously extracted into a folder on your desktop. Right click, and 'Run as Administrator.'

}
Step 3:
Now, press and hold three buttons at the same time: Volume Down + Home + Power button TOGETHER until you see the following warning message:
Press Volume Up button again to enter into Download Mode. Now your phone's screen will show this:
On the computer, you will see 'Added' in Odin’s message box:
You should also see COM port with a number highlighted in Blue if you successfully added your device. (Com 15 in my case)
NOTE: If you don’t get 'Added' then it means you do not have USB drivers installed for your device. Download from here. Install the drivers and try again. If it still does not detect the phone try another USB port or another USB cable.
Step 4:
In the Odin Window, click the PDA Button, and select the .tar.md5 file from the folder where you had previously extracted the Samsung firmware.
Step 5:
In Odin window, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are only two that are ticked.
Step 6:
Now, to begin the flashing process, hit the START button. The top left box in the Odin window will turn green and the flashing process will start.
On your phone it will look something like this:
Step 7:
After installation of the system your phone will reboot automatically and you will see a PASS message in the top left box of Odin.
You can now safely unplug your device from computer.
Your Galaxy Music S6012 should now upgrade its apps.
When it starts up, it should run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
Go to Settings > About phone to verify.
Congratulations! You now have your Samsung Galaxy Music Duos running on OFFICIAL Jelly Bean!
Note: If you were rooted before, you will have to root again and re-delete the system apps you may have deleted earlier.Your other apps, system settings and files will still be there.

NOW
ROOT

No, because this is official firmware from Samsung, only it is not for your region.
It does not increase your flash counter either, so you are perfectly safe. In case you need to give it for warranty or something, just flash your original firmware version again (which is also available from the same site you will get the new one from).
Check your firmware version in Settings>About phone and then download the firmware from here http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-S6012

Do a factory reset:
Start your phone by pressing Home+Volume up+Power and you will get the recovery menu. In recovery mode you can use Volume keys to navigate between options and Power key to select an option. Do Wipe data/Factory Reset as well as Wipe Cache Partition before selecting reboot system now.
Now try to start your phone normally. (You will still have Jelly Bean)

I have not uploaded, these are collected and uploaded by samsung-updates.com. Try download manager like flashget, internet download manager etc, these will resume your downloads even after they get interrupted. It is not safe to download roms from torrent or mediafire, 4shared etc.

Are you rooting the ICS build or the JB build? AFAIK the Impactor method works with the JB build.

There are 3 things you can try in this order:
1. Clear the Contacts and Contacts Storage data (under Applications Manager>All) and resync your contacts with your google account.
2. Try wiping cache from recovery menu to see if it solves the problem.
3. Factory reset the phone (backup your apps, and data using ES Explorer or Titanium Backup first so you can restore your data and apps quickly.)

Clear the cache from the recovery menu (check the first post of the thread to see how to go into the recovery menu).
If that does not work, factory reset the phone and try again. (backup your apps and settings using Titanium Backup first)
If even that does not work, do a clean install of 4.1.2 again using Odin. then try.

Is your USB debugging ticked? (Just checking)
You can use the following methods to back up apps and data before factory reset:

Have you tried this:
Reinstall 4.1.2 using Odin.
Then immediately root with Cydia (before installing your apps etc)
Just one thing: are you from brazil? I think the phone there is a little different 6012B instead of 6012 in the rest of the world.

[Q] Currently unable to install any rom

Hi guys,
Current situation
I haven't been able to use my phone for a good day now and I been busy reading guides, trying out stuff for a bunch of hours now. I thought it was time to ask you guys. Currently this is the only thing I'm able to do:
When I boot normally its stuck on the black screen with Samsung Galaxy Note on it.
When I boot with volume down, a screen popups up if I'm sure than press volume up. After that I'm in ODIN mode (says so with red letters in the left top). Below that it says: PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7000 , CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: NO , CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL.
In the middle of the screen below the Android guy it says: Downloading... Do not turn of target !! (I'm not really sure if its suposed to say downloading there, while its not downloading anything?)
What I did so far
I came from a gingerbread Rocket ROM and decided to try out the ICS Stunner rom. I downloaded the ROM and read the install discription. I pretty much went into CWM right away to install the zip (rom) from SD card. It did work and ofcourse everything was still there cause I didnt wipe anything. But I noticed that a bunch of things didn't work and a lot of programs where crashing. I assumed I must have missed a step so I decided to go with the 'Squeaky Clean' install, which was posted on the team-passion website.
This was the last time I was able to get into CWM and connect my phone true USB with my laptop. Because I did the following steps:
Reboot in to ClockworkMod Recovery.
Format the following:
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
**Enter 'Mounts and Storage'**
- Format everything it will allow you to
**Go Back, enter 'Advanced'**
-Wipe Dalvik Cache
-Wipe Battery Stats
**Go Back to main menu, reboot system**
The next step on that list is: Remove your battery and boot up into 'Download Mode'. But the only mode I am getting into is the ODIN MODE where it already says 'Downloading...'. When I try to flash using ODIN, it isn't able to setup the connection. It does identify that the phone is connected because the ID:COM is yellow on 0:[COM3]. It didn't before, but after reading somewere that it might help to install Kies for the drivers it did.
Also tried "InitialCFRootFlasher" and "DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su" but both arent able to establish the connection. Just like ODIN.
What I'd like to do
I'd prefer going with the ICS Stunner ROM, seeing thats how this all started. But currently I'd settle for anything working, because being phoneless for a day is pretty anoying hehe.
What do you guys suggest?
I really don't know how u understood the process. But just don't screw this. Go download any of the pre rooted odex rom -link in my signature - and flash it via odin.
Or any rootable rom from dr ketan's thread - link in my signature - and follow the steps mentioned there to the Dot slowly and calmly. Just get to GB and rooted. Then report here. Will tell u how to go to ics stunner after that.
BOOMED from my BOMBASTIC NOTE
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm currently downloading one of the prerooted roms from your signature. However it would suprise me if ODIN allows me to install these seeing it can't really connect to the phone. Am I suposed to be in the 'Downloading... Do not turn of target !!' screen on my phone, while connected to laptop true USB?
Will update once I'v got it.

Yup u need to be in that mode. The odin on your PC should show the Com port as yellow. If it doesnt then there is some drivers problem.
It is connected yeah, the com port is shown as yellow. After loading any rom in PDA, Phone or Bootloader and only checking auto reboot and f. reset time this is what happens:
<ID:0/003> Added!!
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..
<ID:0/003> SetupConnection..
And thats where its hanging, nothing on the phone screen is changing.
I don't remember the screen saying 'Downloading..' last time I flashed something. It's already saying that when I enter the screen, when its not downloading anything.
Apparently I'm not able to make edits yet here so heres another post after figuring out how to load these files:
It is connected yeah, the com port is shown as yellow. After loading the three files in ODIN under PDA, PHONE and CSC just like on the screenshot in your signature. And only checking 'Auto reboot' and 'F. Reset Time' the following happens:

Done! I'm still not sure what went wrong, I think placing the files in the wrong place in ODIN. Got a tip from someone how to place them and they worked in one go. Pretty weird cause I was using the same setup as the XDA guide post.
Main problem is solved now, I'll have to look into the ICS thing now. Thanks for your help.

Sorry was away so couldnt reply. The setup shown i xda should work perfectly. Anyways its good to know that you got all things settled. You can install the ICS Stunner (no touchwiz and no samsung apps) if you so want. Remember to backup your data as you will have to wipe data for going to ICS. From rooted GB install mobile odin then download the lp1 repack from my signature and after all that is done reboot to recovery clear caches and data and flash stunner (download the latest build by clicking Stunner in my signature) clear caches and data and reboot.
* Triangle away is required only when you flash lp1 through PC Odin.*
Ended up using the mobile odin application, works like a charm.
Thanks for your help!

You are welcome. Glad it all worked for you. Hitting some thanks button will be good too LOL

[OTA][11/24][SCH-I705] Verizon GTab 2 7" - J1 OTA Update - Pre-Rooted!

This the G3 to J1 OTA. A lot of people are still on the G3 build because of root issues. As some of you may have found out, the hard way, the J1 update does not allow the older root methods and a new method has not been found forcing people to not accept the OTA! This fixes that!
What I have done here is grab the OTA and neutered it so it would not install the "aboot" and not install the "recovery" partitions. On top of that I have pre-rooted it with the latest SuperSU and added my unsecure boot.img. So you get the following...
Features
New Radios / Appropriate firmware
New Kernel
OS changes from G3 to J1
Root will now be in the /system folder so if you wipe data root is still with you :highfive:
You must be on the 100% stock G3 base with root and Clockwork MOD Recovery. If you modified any files you need to restore them because the script checks the files on the /system partition to make sure it has not been tampered with! For example if you installed Gmail from the 4.2 build the script will error out and NOT flash!
If you need to return to stock G3 Base you can do it easy this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1885558. Thats what I had to do to root the tab so I know for a fact the OTA works 100% off the dump that MrHyde03 made!
Now for the official instructions
Instructions:
Must be at full stock G3 base with no modifications to the system files other than root!
Must have CWM recovery installed, must have the unlocked boot loader installed.
Uninstall Superuser (Yes, uninstall it!)
Copy Patch to Device
Reboot to recovery
Flash Patch. Takes about 3 to 4 minutes to patch.
Profit!
Thanks
Thanks out to MrHyde03 and RevosFTS for testing. Brave souls!
And thanks to other few people who tried but modified the system image therefore could not flash.

Excellent. Also added a reference to here in the root thread under Step 3.
I've been working with scott trying to flash this update..
I fixed the issue with the gmail 4.2 that I put on my tab.. so that is no longer an issue.. (and that was the only thing I changed in my /system partition)..
Now I'm getting an error status 7... with "assert failed: apply_patch_check (" /system/bin/debuggerd")".. when flashing this... not sure what that is? anyone know?
also I'm on the g3 build
Baseband Version: I705VRLG3
Build Number: IMM76D.I705VRALG3
Sounds to me like it's not finding the file at /system/bin/debuggerd. Open root explorer or equivalent and check to see if that file exists. If not, then I'd go through Step 1b (Method 2 - ODIN) on the root thread again to ensure your system is 100% stock.

Agreed. This OTA tested perfect against your Odin stock so if there is an issue when someone tries to flash then they are not 100% stock system hence a quick odin flash will take care of that!

I've been flashing this stuff since the OG droid.. I'm not a noob on this... i'm not sure what is going wrong..
I appreciate all the help.. I'll just keep playing with it to see if I can figure it out

Hmmm. Odd.
The only time I got that messaage was when the bootloader is locked. I dont know then.
Let us know if you figure it out...
Also can you confirm the status of the current build you are on? And did you try a newer version of Odin? Maybe its just an Odin issue. What ver are you on?

Odin 3.04 is the version I use and have listed in the instructions. Think it could have something to do with your extra compressed version?
Try downloading the first link again and make sure your using the PDA section. You could even try running Odin "Run as administrator". Also can try rebooting your computer (had a similar issue a while back and a reboot of both my laptop and tablet solved it. Shut down your tablet completely then boot directly into Download (power + vol down). Plug it in AFTER it boots into Download and let us know.

Should I still be receiving the OTA install warnings after flashing this? I'm going to freeze SDM for now.

No, but what you need to do is tell it to check again and it will come back and say that it is already installed and there is no update.

I originally postponed it for an hour and then froze SDM. When I unfreeze and go into software update it only gives me the option to install deferred update now.
I'm not terribly concerned about this because I can just leave it frozen but it's curious that I'm receiving the update. All of my software matches those listed on your screenshot above.

You have to ignore it then Select "Check Now"
That's what I had to do... Either that or do a factory reset. I know that will fix it for sure
And if you did let it go it would just fail immediately so no worries.
Ok cool. I'll check it after the original hour deferment expires and if I have to I'll factory reset.
Thanks for your work on this. Looking forward to future installments.

[Q] Can´t restore recovery / adb / SD not recognize

Hi!!
First, I was trying to find some solution, here and google, but every one that could work, don´t.
I was trying to install CyanogenMod 10.1
I followed the installation guide... but when I have to choose CM zip file, I choosed another one from other sell (I was using the same card)
The CM that I use was this: cm-7.2.0-jordan.zip (from a defy phone)
instead cm-10.1-20130621-NIGHTLY-janice.zip
Everything goes bad since that.
I tried to wipe data/factory reset:
E: format_volume: fs_type "ext3" unsupported
E: Can´t mount /cache/reovery/log
E: Unknow fs_type "ext3" for /cache
I tried to update from external storage
But only shows me this: " ../ "
I tried to apply update from ADB
I followed the guide, copy the roms on self directory, put the 4 files on c:\windows , etc.
This are the common errors that shows me:
C:\Windows\Herramientas Sideload>adb sideload gapps-jb-2013
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
* failed to write data 'protocol fault (no status)' *
I tried kill the adb.exe like this, but doesn´t works
error: closed adb
I tried this but doesn´t works
I found nothing that could help more, so that´s way I making this post.
Here is some data:
GT-i9070
Windows 7 64bits
Kies updated (but could connect to the device now)
I think that drivers of the cell are updated, because windows shows me that... buy i don´t know if is the correct one.
I will be very grateful if you can help. I hope this can be fixed ..
Best regards!!
PS: sorry my english.

Reflash stock jelly bean with Odin, then flash CoCore kernel for CWM recovery, and retry to flash CM10.1. To do that:
1-Because your pc doesn't recognize the device uninstall Kies and install only usb drivers (you can download install package here)
2-Download Odin and i9070 Stock Jelly Bean firmware from samfirmware (I recommend i9070XXLQG PDA)
3-Extract downloaded zip, you will find three files (one .dll, one .pit and one .tar.md5)
4-Launch Odin, select "Re-Partition" and leave others as they are. Press "PIT" button and select .pit file in extracted firmware's zip file, then press "PDA" and select .tar.md5 file in same directory.
5-Enter in download mode like I said you early and connect device to pc, press "Start" button on Odin and wait for the "SUCCESS" message, now your phone should power on normally.
6-Now download this zip file (for obtain root access) and put in sd card (micro sd, not internal memory!)
7-Turn off your phone, press vol up+home+power to enter recovery, select "apply update from external storage" then select root.zip, reboot device.
8-Now you have stock jelly bean rooted, update SuperSU from Google Play and install Universal Kernel Flash from frapeti (you can find it on Play Store).
9-Download CoCore Kernel here, take kernel.bin.md5 file from zip package and put it in internal storage.
10-Launch Universal Kernel Flash, select kernel.bin.md5 and flash it.
11-Power off phone and enter again in recovery with vol up+home+power, now you should have CWM-based recovery, select "backup and restore" and take a full system backup.
12-Wipe data, cache and dalvik and retry to install CM10.1-janice, in case something goes wrong or you want to remove CM without flash again with Odin you can restore your system backup from CWM.
If you have a doubt I'm here to help you

There wasn´t a .pít file on the i9070XXLQG
I found one from Odin3-v1.85.zip
Could be that why is wrong? I´m downloading one more... this time without the Kies sign. I bet that is the probelm.
it´s getting worst
Now when I turn on the phone, the screen looks with diagonals strips.
And only the download mode is working... no more for upload mode.
:crying:
Well... i was looking for that error... and could be the cable and the usb port.
I changed each one, and still don´t works.
Remove the SD, remove the sim, and every time get me the same error.
Anything else?
Which .pit you have? The name of the correct one is: GT-I9070_EUR_XX_8G.pit for 8GB memory. Your have 8GB or 16GB of memory?
This one, but it came with the odin... I think.

Always use specific pit file of a device, each Samsung device have it, for example I can't use i9000's pit file on i9070. Which model is? 8 or 16? Because the two models have different pit file

8gb model.

[Q] phone hanging at the start screen.

i was want just change my old recovery software, so i install TWRP recovery that time i facing this problem.
This worked out once, then I was trying another firmware, this didn't work out (phone was hanging at the Samsung GT-I9070 start-screen), so I thought: "OK, lets do the other firmware again".
So entered the download mode and tried to flash the "old" firmware again (XXLD1.tar) but it just does something very fast (not really installing) and reboots again with hanging at the start screen.
OK, so lets got to the "recovery-mode"... not possible!
Did this now a few times, but everytime the same result, just a quick full download bar and restarting with hanging.
Did I kill my phone?

if u r eble to boot u r phone in to download mode then its not being bricked i think u r not flashed file properly
Step-1: Download Android Jelly Beanofficial firmware for Samsung Galaxy S Advance to the computer
Step-2: Extract the downloaded zip file using Winzip, Winrzr, 7zip or any other extracting tool to get a file with .tar.md5 extension
Step-3: Download latest Odin software which will help to install the Jelly Bean firmware. Extract the Odin zip to getOdin exe
Step-4:Switch off the Galaxy S Advance and wait for five to six seconds for the vibration to confirm the power off
Step-5:Boot the phone into Download Mode by pressing and holdingVolume Down,HomeandPowerbuttons together. A warning screen will appear, now press theVolume Upbutton to continue to enter into Download Mode
Step-6:RunOdin.exe as an Administrator
Step-7:Connect the Galaxy S Advance to the computer using USB cable while the device is in Download Mode. Wait for some time until Odin detects the device. When the device is connected successfully, an Added message will appear under Odin. Also, the ID: COM box in Odinwill turn blue indicating all the drivers are installed successfullyNote:If theAddedmessage does not appear, then try the USB port at the back of the computer. In case Odin still fails to recognsie the device, then re-install USB driver.
Step-8:Click thePDAbutton and select the (tar.md5 file)
step-9: Verify that Auto Rebootand F.Reset Timecheckboxes are selected in Odin window. Also, ensure that the Re-Partition option is unchecked
Step-10:When everything is set, hit theStartbutton in Odin. The installation process should begin now and would take few minutes to complete
Step-11 once the installation process is completed, the phone will reboot automatically. And soon a PASS message with green background will appear in the extreme left box at the very top of Odin indicating successful installation.
phone get rebooted with samsung logo
Now safely unplug the USB cable from the phone to disconnect it from the computer
How to Fix Bootloop Issues
1) While installing the firmware if thePASSmessage does not display or the device gets stuck for a long time, then disconnect the phone from the computer. Remove the battery and re-insert it, check the USB connection, re-install the USB driver and disable KIES. Enter Download Mode and repeat the whole procedure.
2) If bootloop occurs or the device is stuck in welcome screen logo, then boot the phone into recovery mode. To do so, press and hold theVolume Up,HomeandPowerbuttons together. In recovery mode, perform data wiping task by selectingWipe data/factory resetthen selectWipe Cache Partition.Reboot the phone in normal mode by selectingreboot system now. When the phone boots up, it should be running on the official build. In recovery mode, useVolumekeys to scroll between the options and use thePowerbutton to select the particular option. Performing wiping task will erase the internal memory of the device.
Just flash firmware with odin, after it says "pass", remove cable and let your device boot and mostly (a.f.a.i.k) it doesn't boot, take out battery, go to recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset and after that reboot your phone.

Well, now can I ask? Is your device is Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 series (not GT- i9070P series - NFC supports)? And has installed the official firmware 4.1.2+ (jelly bean)?
If your device is GT-I9070, and has installed the first official firmware 4.1.2+ (jelly bean). Then simply you do the installation via CWM Recovery which is certainly already installed on your device. after all these, then you can feel the sweetness of chocolate kitkat (CM11) style developers. Like what was mentioned by senior @shut_down before.

Look for CM11 bt TeamCanjica in original development section, put it in sd card, boot to recovery and install it with "update from external storage" or qhatever it was in stock recovery. Do factory reset and that should be it. If still not working go to cwm and wipe dalvik cache.

[Q] Help me please

Hello new in this forum.....
The threads I read overwhelmed me.... :cyclops:
I have a N7000 from a friend of mine. It had a dedicated 4.0.4 rom from "3" (italian operator) build IMM76D.XXLRL
I tried to install a new italian rom 4.1.2 via odin but every attempt failed
Unfortunately I ended up into a thread about ICS kernel (sorry if I make some mistakes with names but I'm really lost....)
so downloaded the ICS and with my surprise it was installed into the phone.
From that moment the N7000 hang at samsung logo with the yellow triangle....
And the worst thing It goes in download mode but not in recovery mode.....
I tried to read many post before write, trying to understand waht to do but now I'm totally confused..... md5,tar,img, zip...... kernel, root, cwm., rom ....
Someone may explain to me if there is something to do to save the phone?
Thanks i n advance

so, what is your question actually??
Mate, I think the question is simple.
From what I understand in your comment, it seems you tried to install the Stock Rom 4.1.2 Italy, when you were the 4.0.4 / 4.0.3 Stock Rom Italy. On installation through ODIN pc you had a problem where it remains in the Samsung logo, will not let you enter the Recovery mode, only the Download mode. Is that so?
I should arrived that case do not leave any triangle would remove the battery, and after 10-15 seconds reintroduce it, and just then press buttons to enter the Recovery mode. If it fails, repeat the removal of the battery, but now when placed connect the DC charger to the phone I tried to turn normally to 20-25 seconds (just outside and away the logo of battery charging), and try to turn it on Recovery mode again, but we will keep down so long that should disappear all as to turn it off, and you press the keys for the Recovery mode, this time releasing anything else lighting appear on the screen, just a moment before letters GT-N7000, now if it really is accessible Recovery should apparate.
If you enter Recovery Mode Stock Samsung, you will have look out if a line appears below indicating the application, or wondering whether to apply the new CSC, we accept without thinking, since it must reaffirm the phone to initiate a Stock Rom.
Now if I come to this moment really was not accessible Recovery mode should get a screenshot of ODIN pc which finishes entering files to mobile, if it were really a fault, and do not leave do the installation, if you checked any box incorrectly, of which are not activated.
Other options include USB cable failure, USB port, lack of USB debugging enabled before starting the installation, do not put at least 10 minutes in the backlight time (this can try to fix running a finger across the screen every 23 seconds if it was 30 seconds off), but that the capture can determine ourselves if the error is only for ODN pc, which can be a failed in the installation and have not really finished the installation, in this case it would be almost insurance problem USB cable used, and in extremis or USB port.

Thanks to reply.....
I was not really clear probably.
I tried to install 4.1.2 over 4.0.4 dedicate rom (3 H3G italian operator)
Odin always failed hanging or giving some fault
So I installed the ICS kernel (or rom) everything was fine. So I suppose the cable is ok , odin is ok etc....
But from the moment I downloaded the ICS, at reboot the phone hang on samsung logo with yellow triangle. ANd if I try to switch off the phone it restart and hang on logo.
Download mode is still working but recovery mode not.....
I'm looking for some kernel, rom, cwm to download, to recover the phone.....
The best thing to do is reinstall the ROM 4.1.2 (the 4.0.x are more dangerous if we wipes, JellyBean when they are not), but check that no error appears, if it appears only after installing the Rom rather fails during it, you can download the kernel Philz for you version, right now if you tell me the link to SamMobile I can tell you what, so you can tell which is correct, although it is not hard to tell if you look at the post of Philz above kernel with all links to them. After installation and download the kernel, you turn the phone into Recovery mode, you select mount usb (I think it came out well, but stresses) and connect your phone to your pc, you can pass the kernel to the internal SD and another copy to the SD external (remember to leave both copies at the root of both SD's). You MUST complete the transfer and disassemble with the option displayed on screen, and disconnect the USB cable. You continue by going to install zip, and should be able to select the Kenel Philz to install, after installing (if you get an error: Status 7 quiet, it was not the correct version of the kernel, and not actually installed), you will have to restart the mobile again, but when you start on with the letters GT-N7000, you will have to restart it by pressing Vol + - Power - Home, all at once, and keep it until the letters again, and keep it until it goes - restart, then you press the 3 keys, and when the letters appear, you must drop the 3 keys, and should you appear the menu Recovery kernel Phliz, there as you will see below something that says CSC implemented or instead ask if you want to apply, accept if you ask, and you should be able to restart the phone and wait about 5 minutes maximum to emit sound and vibration as it is booting at all, and then you should be able to start getting bills from Samsung and Google.
Thank fusionero
the problem is I'm not able to install the 4.1.2 , odin hang or fail
The ROM version I need is
sammobile.com/firmwares/download/22314/N7000XXLT9_N7000ITVLT3_ITV
So I think nex step is to install kernel Philz but I don't know which version I need. On the phone was installed 4.0.4 build IMM76D.XXLRL
CIAO
You must enter this http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/22314/N7000XXLT9_N7000ITVLT3_ITV.zip/ address, and you must connect to you account to download that version you mention, I just check and this downloading smoothly on my pc . The problem is that it would open without ending .zip or you caught hours of server failure, just that i found this morning when downloading another who asked me.
As to what you mention about the version you have installed, as you are looking at the correct thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 ), the kernel you need for what you indicate ( 4.0.4 build IMM76D.XXLRL CIAO ) is this:

Andrea

Your phone is not booting since you flashed an ICS kernel over a JellyBean ROM
Android ICS version : 4.0.4
Android JB version : 4.1.2
so I hope you understand the difference.
You are lucky you didn't brick your device or have you already
But since you are able to go in download mode I think its not bricked yet.
It was probably a bad download which failed the installation so download ROM again and this time verify that your download is not corrupt by running it via md5 if provided.
also please provide the link of the ROM thread that you are trying to install so that I can understand better
and if you are not looking to flash a custom ROM or rooting your device in order to do so then in that case the steps are pretty straight forward
download Stock ROM
extract ROM
open Odin
select appropriate files i.e Choose CODE in PDA, MODEM in PHONE, Multi CSC in CSC
put phone in download mode and connect
the bar should turn yellow once connected.
once connected click on flash
bar should turn green if successful

Thanks everyone....
I think you hit the problem..... but my original ROM version was 4.0.4 .... (H3G)
Anyway probably something went wrong.... I don't need a custom ROM or to root the device.
I need to install N7000XXLT9_N7000ITVLT3_ITV if possible but the flash doesn't start via ODIN
May you explain step by step what have I to do? I really appreciate....
What do you mean "select appropriate files i.e Choose CODE in PDA, MODEM in PHONE, Multi CSC in CSC" ?
md5 is not a single file? I read something about more files to place in odin.....
@ fusionero: I already downloaded the files.... also PHILZ XXLRL but the device doesn't start anyway.....

Did you download the XXLT9 ROM?? or the ROM that you want to flash ??
if so then it should be a zip file, if you extract that zip file you should have 3 files in it (sometimes only PDA file is present and the other two i.e Modem and CSC are not present, dont worry the PDA file alone is enough)
Open Odin, click on PDA button and select the firmware file with .tar.md5 extension (The firmware file look something like: N7000XXDLJ5_N7000ODDDLI7_INU.tar.md5 Select the one that looks similar to the ROM you downloaded)
and if there are CSC and Modem files then select them by clicking Phone and CSC in Odin accordingly. It will be mentioned in the file name if its a Modem or CSC file
if MODEM_XXXX.tar.md5 then select that file by clicking the PHONE in Odin and if XXXX_CSC_XX.tar.md5 then select it by clicking CSC in Odin
remember that you lose all your data
Then just click flash and it should flash
md5 is a single file and is used to check the integrity of the file you downloaded. Its just used to make sure that the file you downloaded doesnt have any errors or is corrupt. you use the .md5 file and compare it with the md5 of the ROM.zip If it matches then its not corrupted or is a bad download. (.tar.md5 and .md5 are different files as in .tar.md5 is a firmware file and .md5 is a hash file used for integrity check)
Just right-click the rar/zip file and select properties and select the "file hashes" tab and if you downloaded a .md5 open that file by clicking "compare file" in the same tab
.md5 is always provided along with file you downloaded and its size is always in kbs , if its not provided then you cant do the hash check
If you dont have "file hashes" tab after right-clicking and selecting properties of the rar/zip file then you should download and install HashTab to get that option
follow this video for a better understanding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ulz-1UYzHBA
the process is same but you should use your ROM files i.e Italian N7000 files to flash your phone and yes Odin version doesnt matter, you can use any version
Hello
I downloaded N7000XXLT9_N7000ITVLT3_ITV.ZIP
Extracted the file into a folder and had N7000XXLT9_N7000XXLT3_N7000ITVLT3_HOME.tar.md5 (there is also SS_DL.dll)
Tried to flash the md5 file with odin (V.1.85) , but odin returns a fail.....

after trying that try the solution from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41844601#post41844601
and also try and follow the thread as people have posted different solutions regarding your problem
Also this would be the extent of help i can provide
if that doesnt work i dont know what will
So please forgive me for not being able to help any further
maybe you should use odin3 v3.04 or v3.09.
usually i use odin3 v1.8X for multiple file roms but in your case, you have only One-file rom.
---------- Post added at 01:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:09 PM ----------
besides, extract all the files in odin archive and place them in one folder dont just start the odin .exe file directly from the archive.
Hello changed the cable the port and ODIN (ver 3.04)
The same problem..... look at the picture attached....
I'm loosing hope.....:crying:
Thanks to all....
solved the problem!!! WOW! :good::victory:
The solution was to change pc, I went on my girlfriend laptop and everything went smooth as silk.....
