MODDED CLOCKWORKMOD TOUCH RECOVERY
v6.0.3.6
Yes, we already have a CWM Touch Recovery, TWRP and the highly customizable Philz Recovery for our Galaxy Grand i9082/i9082L, all thanx to the talented and brilliant developers and owners of i9082!

Then what are these?
These are a bit modified (modded), unofficial CWM Touch Recoveries for i9082/i9082L.
I like things customized my way, so i started working on customizing CWM Touch Recovery that i used very frequently for flashing and backups. And I have always disliked the fat android in the background that used to pop up whenever i flashed something! (No offence to any CWM developer, it is just my opinion)
There isn't much that i could have customized as touch sources of Clockworkmod recovery are not open source, but i did all i could and the way i like it.
Works on all ROMs, 4.1.2 (official), 4.2.2 (official and leaked) and all AOSP based ROMs (CM10.1, AOKP, PA, Slimbean, etc).
I'll try and keep the modded Clockworkmod Touch recoveries up to date for i9082 with all the latest changes.
Custom Modifications:
-> Changed the background of CWM (Text is now more readable than stock look)
-> Removed the animation in the fat Android's stomach
-> Removed the fat Android itself
-> Placed a "good-looking" android on the right of the screen so that it doesn't interfere with the text when flashing
-> Internal memory support added (When the CWM version is made, by default it only allows External SD card to be accessed)
-> Adjusted the Clockworkmod logo to be more visible and text more readable
-> Moved progress bar to the bottom edge (Let's face it, it isn't that useful anyways. It's the text and the log that matters more)
How to flash them?
-> You can use any currently running custom recovery in your phone to flash these new recoveries.
-> Download the recovery that you want.
-> Put the recovery on your SD card (Internal or External)
-> Flash using your current custom recovery!
Latest unmodified Clockworkmod Touch Recovery is also in the Downloads if you wish to revert back to the old look and feel.
When you get bored out of your CWM Touch Recovery's look, just flash a new one from within the old one. Everything changes!
Make your phone look like YOU OWN IT in every possible way!

Yes! It is more readable and better looking now.
Touch based recovery's source isn't open source (yet). So can't make changes to that (as of now).

It's based on the latest 4.1.2 recovery image. I built CWM Touch Recovery from 4.2.2 INU version, but it wasn't working on base 4.1.2. Then i tried recovery based on Thailand version by Mohanshbhr but that didn't work on base 4.1.2 either. In short, that means to run AOSP based ROMs (CM10.1, AOKP, PA, Slimbean, etc) we need base as 4.1.2 (as of now) and anyone who has flashed 4.2.2 official Samsung ROM can't run AOSP based ROMs.
My recoveries based on 4.1.2 work on all ROMs, AOSP based, 4.1.2 Official and 4.2.2 Official.

Thank you for trying on i9082L. Updated the OP that these work on i9082L as well. I hoped they would, but couldn't have confirmed without someone testing it.

Installation Query
I have read these installation instructions.
You can use any currently running recovery in your phone to flash these new recoveries.
As I am noob & am terrified at the loss of use of phone if something goes wrong. I just want to know can I flash this using stock recovery on 4.2.2 Inu version? also is there is any need to flash fix recovery file to make this recovery permanent?

You need to have a custom recovery already installed before you install any one of these. So first you need use ODIN to replace stock recovery with a custom one, and if it is your first time rooting your phone and putting a custom recovery, read extensively before you do so. You can use thread by chotu222 that i have linked in the OP. You'll need to flash Fix Recovery only once when you are replacing stock recovery with a custom one. Then you can flash other custom recoveries from within the recoveries themselves.

Updated the OP with the latest CWM Non-Touch Recovery v6.0.4.4. Compiled from CM10.2 source code.
Even i don't use CWM Recovery anymore. Philz Recovery has everything that I need. CWM Non-Touch Recovery v6.0.4.4 was just lying there on my HDD for the past few days so i upload it.

I tested the v6.0.4.5 zip by flashing it on TWRP, CWM v6.0.4.4, CWM v6.0.3.6, Philz recovery. It worked from all recoveries. On which recovery did you flash it?
EDIT: Over 40 ppl have downloaded the zip in the last 9 hours and no one else has reported issues..

What version of CWM Recovery is the latest?

I'm currently running CWM Recovery version 5.0.2.7 and was wondering if this is the latest version? I tend to use ICS based ROMs but lately I've been having issues with CWM not being able to install ROMs as it will freeze half way (stuck on setting permissions etc.)
Can anyone provide some insight on:
- what's the latest CWM Recovery version? (Please provide a link if applicable)
- can CWM Recovery become "corrupt"?
Thank you in advance

As far note hav concern, you can't choice CWM, you have to flash CF root kernel(or othr custom), according to your ROM
But just for knowledge, I am using latest kernel LC1 by CF, and have same version as You. 5.0.2.7
and CWM application is v3.15

You have the latest and only version of the ICS recovery, and the issue you're experiencing comes from the ICS kernel/CWMR combo being somewhat wonky. Nothing much you can do about it except this:
- when trying to go back to GB, flash AbyssNote kernel from CWMR, reboot recovery to get into Redpill, do your wipes from there and restore whatever you have or flash a custom Rom
- when on ICS and having CWMR spazzing out on you, the only safe way is to go back to GB, root it, flash Chinese repack (to refresh your CWMR) and your custom ICS Rom once again.
And swear a lot whilst doing all of the above.

Prefer the old style non touch kernel imho (the touch kernel is crap...)

[Touch Recovery] [CWM] [KERNEL] AOKP 4.4.2

Hello, here is the kernel & recovery of my favourite for AOKP 4.4.2 ROM (Other ROM I didn't test but you may try).
Fyi, I am running AOKP ROM on my ZR but I dislike the recovery that came with it as it doesn't respond to touch. And I found that Beanstalk ROM is using the recovery with touch support.
Together with the emerge of MEOW kernel, I figure out that I can use the script to flash the kernel & recovery that I want through recovery instead of using flashtool (in case of no access to computer).
Basically this (the kernel & touch recovery) wasn't my work. All I did was just decompile and pulled the files (touch recovery from Beanstalk ROM & kernel from AOKP ROM & installer script from MEOW kernel flashable zip).
So all the credits go to respective developers. I am here just to share the MOD as I haven't found much flashable zip for kernel and recovery.
Thanks them here:
Beanstalk ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2535736
AOKP ROM thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559339
MEOW Kernel thread (temporary, the developer is jeroenqui): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2621532

Ok, in your kernel thread it states it has Philz Touch, but ivr never been able to get it load other than straight after flashing it. Is there an issue somewhere, even if i use your reboot app, it reboots either into twrp or cwm, which i can use, so not a huge issue, would just prefer to use Philz. Thanks.

Does this work well with the 402 update, Philz recovery was always my favourite recovery on SGS3, not seen many posts in here recently so looking for opinions.
Plan is to get unlock code from Sony, use FlashTool to unlock the bootloader, use Flashtool to flash the boot img from the first post in this thread & then flash superSU, is that the bets way to go about it?

Yes, it's dedicated for the .402 update
Your plan is valid, although keep in mind that Doomkernel has also Philz integrated.
Cheers for the reply mate. Is there a way to flash Philz with just the stock kernel or does it have to DoomLord's advanced kernel?

Hi OP,
I am using Build version: 6.29.8 - Xperia Z1 on Xperia X2 D6503.
(maybe slightly older than the latest one?)
I just tried to "Custom backup" my /sdcard partition for file recovery purpose.
However, the "Backup size" was 0.
So i wonder if the backup "sd-ext" function is still working on the PhilZ version.
Thanks in advance.
Will this work on D6502 and do i need an unlocked bootloader for it. Please somebody suggest. Thanks
ive flashed this
however i cant seem to access the recovery partition?
Great work guys !
Will this work with CM11, i currently have the latest CM11 NIGHTLY installed along with CWM recovery 6.0.5.0.
EDIT:
Also, i installed the latest firmware .314 before going to CM11, will flashing this change my kernel to anything other than what i have now ?
Thanks !
