[FIX] GSM-fix for all AOSP 4.1.x-4.4.x ROMs - Droid RAZR M Android Development

This is worked GSM-fix for all AOSP based ROMs by Xcrash (Graycrash on XDA)
If you want have all APN-s just reset default APN`s from settings.
Also attached zip for flash GSM-fix + bootanimation form stock + SLIM perfomance control + touch sound from Liquid Smooth 2.9.
NOTE: if the build.prop in future versions of the ROMs changes, this may cause problems. Don't be surprised if it does. Don't use it on non-4.3 ROMs unless you like softbricks

Please note for flashers in the far future: if the build.prop in future versions of the ROMs changes, this may cause problems. Don't be surprised if it does. Don't use it on non-4.3 ROMs unless you like softbricks

I think we had a discussion that putting in a gsm sim disables group mms on aosp roms!

Is there anything we can do to stop that from happning? its soooo weird...

I know this a little outside of the scope of this thread, but can someone provide a proper GSM fix for the stock blur 4.1.2 Rom (latest ota) if possible?

My tutorial on GSM unlock works, no "fix" necessary. Easiest and safest method, other than the Radiocomm method which works too but doesn't always stick. Either one works fine

The stock rom is already nv edited, I was wondering if there were any other steps on 4.1.2, such as build.prop edits.

If its not working then the edit reverted itself. Run through my tut with CDMAWS and it should work

What does this script basically do? What lines does it changes in the build.prop? Does it only change the build.prop or is it working on other files?
I've flashed CM10.2 ROM on my Razr M (Verizon, bootloader and root unlocked). To make all this work in Italy (in GSM mode) I just changed three parameters in the build.prop file:
"telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1" from 1 to 0
"telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone=true" from true to false
"ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=1" from 1 to 0
Everithing works fine now (2G, 3G, 2G+3G, switching networks)... Doea this script add something to my modifications? Is there some other parameter I may change to make the phone work better in GSM mode?

You can use this patch.
This patch is a stable patch and you can install it on every rom to fully enable gsm.
#Postedit
Only now i checked the patch in the first post and that patch is a mod of my patch with some lines removed and with this lines added:
Code:
telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone=false
ro.cdma.subscribe_on_ruim_ready=false
I could update my patch if Graycrash can tell me why this mod.
For now you can test both patches and check which works correctly.
Feedbacks are appreciated.

[ROM][4.4] CM11 + MEOW Kernel

This is pretty much dead.
That and the server it ran on is dead aswell, and i forgot to backup the scripts i was using to keep it all in check, oops.
So long for now!
For Xperia Z only!

The ROM is built everyday around 18:00 GMT+1.
It's bog standard CM11, so changelogs for that can be found here:
http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:cm-11.0,n,z
http://www.cmxlog.com/11/
The only thing different, is that this build is with MEOW kernel, which hopefully is alright with @jeroenqui
MEOW-Kernel thread is available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448130
For donations, please refer to the CM11 guys, FXP, jeroenqui and whomever else is making it possible for me to build this rom for you guys.

For Google Apps, please refer to the PA Google Apps packages, which are available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Enjoy!
Reserved for me
Best KK rom for our device so far
I'm still on 11/23 build, but it's stable and have a great battery performance
I can only imagine that with MEOW Kernel will be even better
Hi LaMaaH , can you build a removed DoubleTap2Wake and Sweep2Wake version of MEOW Kernel , I always have touch-going-crazy problem with those 2 features.
Can use Android 4.3 CWM to upgrade?
or need to use flash 4.4 img first?

You can try 1st, if error you can use meow kernel for flashing..flash meow kernel reboot recovery and flash rom, or extract boot.img from rom and flash using fastboot, reboot recovery and flash rom.

turn off these features in e.g. Trickster mod app

I think the Kernel is still in the early builds, just wait till the dev updates it and you'll see more features and stability.
Cause I switched into this rom and I find that the recovery which comes with this rom the newest version I assume and it's a bit slow compare to the the last version., So I assume that the it will be fine once the kernel gets updated well
So how does this fare compared to the other 4.4 roms out there?
Does it have the huge lockscreen delay and random lags like the rest?
Is superuser working in ART?

Hey man, it's alright.. Although technically flashing my package should also work with default CM builds...
Will test this and fix it when needed.. I hear some people have problems flashing it over another ROM.
not tried this build, but have a go at disabling hw overlays to see if it helps with the erratic touchscreen behaviour.

[MOD] [NAE] [MK2] [Odex] [DeOdex] Enable Native HotSpot

Ok, following the lead of @crawrj, I have put together the Native HotSpot for the NAE update.
I have also added the MK2 HotSpot mods to this thread. They were buried inside crawrj's original thread, and there still seems to be some demand, so here they are also.
I flashed these using the newest philz recovery (6.15.4), but I think for these, the recovery you use doesn't really matter. Let me know if you have issues.
Not many of you are probably DeOdexed at this point, but both versions are available.
NANDROID backup first please !!! Just because they worked fine for me doesn't mean there might not be problems !!!
IMPORTANT: If you are running a custom rom and the author has made any changes to the services.jar file, this will overwrite them !!! Who knows what kind of issues will pop up. If you are unsure, ask in the thread for the rom you are running.
Here are the links (flashable zips):

Did you flash either one of these to see if they work ok?
ps I also have a 4x6, 4x5, 3x4 if you're interested. Debating on whether or not to post it up. Don't really have time to support it.

Did you make a nandroid? If so recover from the recovery mode. Also I believe this is only for the NAE stock rom. Most other custom roms come with the hot spot option so no need to flash the native hot spot . Good luck.

Most custom roms will already have this built in. Also, most custom roms will make some kind of changes to the services.jar, which this will overwrite.
My mistake for not saying that in the OP. I'll get it updated.

I remember others complaining of this before in other threads. Did a quick search for 'HotSpot Menu Missing" and came up with this: Click Here It's from crawrj's original thread.
Check it out, and let us know what happens.
Stock rooted, no recovery (I'm weird like that sometimes), manually replaced the files. Worked but borked my phone, any app that updated or got installed afterwards immediately crashed. Including my root explorers. Used goo and installed twrp. Actually flashed the zip, didn't fix it. Replaced the files with original through twrp, fixed. Flashed the zip again and everything is all fine now. Tried out hotspot at work yesterday.
So I guess the moral of this is screw Knox.

I don't think so, maybe if you add your boot.img and lib/modules folder.
If you send me these files I'will make a test build

Okay i will do a factory restore when i have time for the d950.
I'm pretty sure Playful God got a recovery to work on KitKat with his app but not sure. If so can you just flash back to a 4.2 backup if on KitKat or should I just use the LG Tool. Been awhile since I've done that. Heck been a little while since I flashed anything. lol

So far the recovery on kk only works with his specialized ROM CM 11, a WIP meant mainly for developers, and very advanced users at this point who can contribute to the development process or at least effectively troubleshoot problems.

Yea I've been following his thread. Just wasn't sure.
I see finally some developments in ROM custom versions for this phone either on CM 11 or some other as this one...
It seems that custom recovery TWRP and Freedom Flex are giving us more custom Roms now, and hoping that it will expand on AOSP and Omega Roms as well...

No, that's only for stock ROM (it has cleanup scripts for Verizon bloatware). The link to the patch is in the first post with big red fonts, but I link it here:
http://www.internauta37.altervista.org/how-and-patch-fully-enable-gsm-verizon-cdma-phones-android
Scroll down, you can find the patch link after the instructions on the page I linked here.

i found the patch link in commentary http://www.internauta37.altervista....patch_for_verizon_phones_v3.2.1_by_mentor.zip
Yes, that's the one. I couldn't link it here directly, because it wouldn't open. It will solve your problems. Also after install, check if your APN settings are correct for mobile internet and MMS.

is the CM rom can be installed on the default stock slot?
Yes, according to the first post here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47667178), installation was tested on ROM Slot-1, Slot-2 and stock slot with SafeStrap 3.65.
I only tried it on Slot-1, worked fine.

I know but he referred to Mentor's ROM, and not the patch. The "ROM" is only for stock, the patch is for everything.

Try the latest CM11 build. I found in the patch's main thread that older versions had this problem.
Before, you can test the GSM setting in the hidden menu. You can use the instructions in the first post.

the lastest CM11,you mean the official CM11 or the [ROM][4.4.4][AOSP][{Un,}Official] CM11.0 (KitKat) ?
I meant the unofficial.

But first, you might want to check the settings in the phone's hidden menu:
In the dialer, enter the code *#*#4636#*#* and check in Phone info -> Set prefered network type -> GSM auto (PRL) is set or not. If not set, set it manually. Maybe this is the problem.

One thing that just came into my mind: have you done a full wipe (factory reset) after installing the patch? I mean installing CM, then install Mentor's patch, and do a factory reset (all in SafeStrap before first boot).
Try if you don't touch the stock ROM slot and create a ROM slot-1 and install it there. Should be safe for experimenting, almost all ROMs are working fine in ROM slot-1. (I'm using stock ROM with Mentor's ROM (not the patch) installed on stock Slot and the latest Paranoid Android KitKat build on slot-1 also with Mentor's patch and no issues at all).

I wonder if we can push this into your ROM (even if it's from Motorola). VVM is really the only VZW application that needs to be in /system to work. Every other VZW app can be downloaded and installed via the Play Store just fine.
