I wonder if we can push this into your ROM (even if it's from Motorola). VVM is really the only VZW application that needs to be in /system to work. Every other VZW app can be downloaded and installed via the Play Store just fine.

It appears that something in the new system is generating a security alert if you are rooted. Researching, more info to come.
Thanks! Just to confirm then, the "NO Data Wipe" versions do not wipe data? In the OP it says "The data wipe versions do not delete the /data/media folder."

That is correct. What the data wipe version means is that it wipes the data but keeps your internal storage (i.e. pictures, music etc...) from being wiped.
Ok cool. That makes sense. I was overthinking it.

You can either keep the MDC kernel or install Shabby's MDL kernel. I will be putting it in the OP of the Rom later but for now it is in the OTA zip thread. Around page two I think.

OK still testing but this is what I got. I restored back to MDC. I installed MDL Rom. I installed Shabby's kernel. I installed the Nag Fix. I rebooted. As soon as the system came up the nag was there. Immediately rebooted on my own, not with the prompt. It has been about 30 minutes and the nag has not returned. I am trying to get the modem to work but will do more lengthy testing later on. This damn modem is kicking my ass. Never had this much trouble before.
Edit: The nag came back.
I did odexed mdl rom data wipe, mdl nagfix, and mdl hotspotmod.
I installed google wallet and it says unsupported device.. can you point me what i did wrong and to the direction to get it work?
and i know it's noob question but what is MDL and MDC? i just got GS4 yesterday i'm so confused.
Thanks

I believe it is going to say that as long as you are rooted. I have never used Wallet so I am not sure if there is a fix for that. MDC and MDL are the OS versions. M is the year 13, D is the month 4 and L is the day or revision +9. It used to be two number which made it a lot easier. MD21 instead of MDL. Not sure why it was changed. Hope that helps.

[FIX] GSM-fix for all AOSP 4.1.x-4.4.x ROMs

This is worked GSM-fix for all AOSP based ROMs by Xcrash (Graycrash on XDA)
If you want have all APN-s just reset default APN`s from settings.
Also attached zip for flash GSM-fix + bootanimation form stock + SLIM perfomance control + touch sound from Liquid Smooth 2.9.
NOTE: if the build.prop in future versions of the ROMs changes, this may cause problems. Don't be surprised if it does. Don't use it on non-4.3 ROMs unless you like softbricks

My tutorial on GSM unlock works, no "fix" necessary. Easiest and safest method, other than the Radiocomm method which works too but doesn't always stick. Either one works fine

What does this script basically do? What lines does it changes in the build.prop? Does it only change the build.prop or is it working on other files?
I've flashed CM10.2 ROM on my Razr M (Verizon, bootloader and root unlocked). To make all this work in Italy (in GSM mode) I just changed three parameters in the build.prop file:
"telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=1" from 1 to 0
"telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone=true" from true to false
"ro.telephony.gsm-routes-us-smsc=1" from 1 to 0
Everithing works fine now (2G, 3G, 2G+3G, switching networks)... Doea this script add something to my modifications? Is there some other parameter I may change to make the phone work better in GSM mode?
You can use this patch.
This patch is a stable patch and you can install it on every rom to fully enable gsm.
#Postedit
Only now i checked the patch in the first post and that patch is a mod of my patch with some lines removed and with this lines added:
Code:
telephony.rilV7NeedCDMALTEPhone=false
ro.cdma.subscribe_on_ruim_ready=false
I could update my patch if Graycrash can tell me why this mod.
For now you can test both patches and check which works correctly.
Feedbacks are appreciated.

Roms that currently can be flashed on AT&T S5

So while we wait for the 'Development' area to start filling up with new Roms, I opened this thread for people to share what they have found it currently works from other S5 Forums.
So far I have tried and work:
* Alliance Rom (From the T-mobile Forum) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2748569
* Stock International from the International Forum ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761682)
* X-Note from the International Forum also works (after removing the Aroma stuff and editing the META-INF folder, Thanks @Skizzy034 for the hint)
* Vision-X http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797336
* Alvin's Stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791067
You have to setup the APN after installing the Roms
*** IMPORTANT***
If you lose root on when installing International ROMS, use 'towelroot v1' to root v3 seems to not work sometimes.
I posted this in the safestrap thread. It will help out for this thread also:
(Aroma Based Roms)
You can. You just have to take the stuff you want out of the optional aroma install folders and place them in the corresponding /system folders such as /system/app. Then you have to edit the stuff in the meta-inf folder or, easier, replace the meta-inf folder with one from a non-aroma based rom, then just flash as normal.

I download a stock G900F rom , cook it with ArchiKitchen with ANCE modem.bin (need to specify boot and modem block). Modify others.xml for displaying NFC icon, disable shutter sound, and enable recording. Also modify customer.xml to make AT&T's default APNs (except FOTA and security strings) so data works right after the first boot. Disable Knox with Archi and no more annoying notification.
Totally stock.
Didn't check root yet but I believe it might have gone? I did not root my rom so I suspect it might have gone?
EDIT: Check with Root Checker and the it doesn't appear to be rooted.
I've been able to flash most ROM's from the international forums, as long as they have stock kernal and I take out the Aroma stuff, only problem I've noticed on every one of them is SuperSU binary fails to update, don't know if it has something to do with safestrap or what.

[Trailblazer101][ROM][6/7][OE2] LightlyCleaned/Rooted ROM

LightlyCleaned/Rooted ROM - OE2
How's it going guys! Since no one else has released a ROM yet for OE2 I'd release what I made for myself This is lightly cleaned, removing what I found to be unnecessary.
PLEASE READ!
You're going to have to be on OC3 right now to flash this, since OE2 itself doesn't have root yet! You can be deodexed/odexed, running a custom ROM, whatever, it'll work. HOWEVER, you will need to flash an additional package with ODIN or whatever tool you use, since the modem/recovery/boot(/kernel)/cm/sboot was updated. You can't use FlashFire for this right now, since it does not detect the cm/sboot files within the package, and they need to be updated for the phone to boot. I tried updating them with a zip package, however it didn't stick. So alas, ODIN it is, for now... So, flash this before booting into the ROM for the first time, by holding down Power + Home + Volume Down until you see the Download Screen. Let go, then press Volume Up. Flash accordingly, making sure to put the *.tar package in the AP section..
This allows you to be on OE2, and maintain root
I'm not responsible if anything bad happens.
Quick Step-By-Step: 1. Flash the ROM using FlashFire. Then immediately after it is done... 2. Flash the TAR package using ODIN 3. Party
HINT (thanks @coton!): You can change the Reboot Settings within FlashFire so that once it's done doing its thing, it can automatically reboot into download mode Just select my package in "Flash ZIP or OTA", then once configured at the bottom click "Reboot". Select "Download" and you are good to go!

Here's a long answer, for ya I started on a OC3 rooted ROM. I modified the OE3 update package to allow flashing this on a rooted build. Flashed it, then extracted the new system files (as they were now patched/updated). I manually patched the boot.img and modem.bin files by placing the originals from the OC3 ODIN package, and running "applypatch" on them with the patch provided from the update package. Patching the recovery was more tricky, because of the way the update package was set up. So I had to use the included sh script to patch and install the latest recovery, and then extract it using adb shell and "cat ....". I had to open that pulled recovery then in a hex editor because it included a lot of empty space at the end. After that, I confirmed the sha1 matched what it was supposed to be as mentioned in the updater-script from the official package, and it did!

You sir are the man!!! Thank you donation coming. So I'm assuming once we use this update method we can flash any future rooted oe2 roms with flashfire?
Which odin version do you use on the s6?

Where's your donation link?
Also, once we flash the ODIN package; I assume we just boot into the OC3 rom to flash the OC2 via flashfire?

If you wanted to donated the 'Donate to Me' button underneath my profile (to the left of this post!) would work Thank you for your thanks!
Here's the steps, that'll break down simply and put on the OP for everyone 1. Flash the ROM using FlashFire. Then immediately after it is done... 2. Flash the TAR package using ODIN 3. Party

Why are you re-uploading the downloads, is there a problem with the previous ones, as I just flashed the odexed rom, then odined the update tar, and have just booted up, everything seems fine so far.

he is using a different server, he had loaded the file to his dropbox but it looks like that server isn't going to work. I was able to download the package from his dropbox though .... This guy is a beast, make sure you guys donate to him, he has created some really cool edge features already and I'm sure there's more to come. If he ever learns how to incorporate the note edge "edge functionality " I'm going to kiss him lol

You are correct, DropBox shuts off your Public links if they get too much attention. and since you guys went ham, rightfully so (lol), they shut me down. So Mega it is, and we're half way there! Also I'm glad to hear it worked for those of you who were able to download it before!
oh and @2swizzle I'm guessing your referring to being able to have the 'feeds' while the screen is on? I've looked into it, and there was a lot of code removed that enabled that from the Note Edge to our phones-- the framework classes that incorporated it are basically stubs now. Although I could try adding it back in, in my personal opinion it'll be kind of... eh. it's not like the Note Edge where because of the more distinct curves it feels like a separate screen, of sorts, and it kind of just works. But with the S6 Edge since it's not as pronounced, it'd be more intrusive, make the aspect ratio weird, and decrease the amount of available screen size, when some already consider what we have is small, when comparing to the phablets of increasing popularity.

Working great so far, haven't found a single bug.
For those of you who haven't downloaded yet, I noticed that with FlashFire when you set it up to flash the rom, you can set the reboot option to go directly to download mode so you're ready for the odin update.
@coton you sir/mam are a terrific human being. I forgot to mention that great little trick on the OP, I'll update it immediately! Thank you!

[ROM] [5.1.1] Dr.Ketan ROM L16 N5 port [N910VVRU2BPA1] [5/1/16]

Read this whole OP before doing anything! Especially the bugs list !!!
** I am excited to announce that @dr.ketan 's Note 5 Port (INTERNATIONAL NOTE 4 BASED ROM)works for the Verizon Note 4 ! I am not a developer and do not take credit for this ROM. I only assisted in getting it to work for our phone. Enjoy!!
Give @dr.ketan many thanks and donate to him for developing his Note 5 Port!!: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/n910g-dr-ketan-custom-rom-t2928568
Give @Battlehero a thanks and donate to him for his time and effort for creating the data fix for our Verizon Note 4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-kyubi-rom-note-5-t3220106
Give @hsbadr a big thanks and donate to him for making this possible with his 5.1.1 Jasmine ROM and multi-system kernel!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-verizon/development/rom-jasminerom-v1-0-t3113771
Without them, this would not have been possible!
Remember that.
DISCLAIMER: Your warranty is now void. Please be careful make a full TWRP backup of your current Verizon ROM. I am not responsible if you break your phone or lose data on your device!
*A clean flash is a must if you are coming from another ROM or you will run into problems.* Do not post issues if you dirty flashed.
**Note only Dr. Ketan's L16F Note 5 port works for our phone. He has a Marshmallow version out also, so be sure to only download the L16F version.**
Big NOTE: (Puns intended) There are OG Developer's Editions and Converted Retail Editions. OG's, including me, have an aged KitKat 4.4.4 unlocked bootloader and we need to use multi-system kernel that @hsbadr patched to fix the brightness issue that was present during the Lollipop upgrade. We are forever in his debt. Converted Retail Editions have a newer Lollipop 5.1.1 unlocked bootloader meaning they can try other Verizon specific kernels without the brightness issue (You might come across other issues trying other kernels so please state what kernel you're using if you experience an issue). I'm also believing that it is possible that converts can experience issues that OG's don't experience due to the difference in bootloaders, and vice versa. It would be nice to know your build if you experience an issue. Thanks!
Instructions:
1.) Make sure you are on a 5.1.1 modem.
(N910VVRU2BOK3) or (N910VVRU2BPA1)
2.) Download the ROM to your SD
3.) Download the DataFix to your SD
4.) Wipe /system /data /cache /dalvik-cache (/InternalStorage Optional, you will lose your files on the device)*
5.) Flash the ROM.
6.) Flash the DataFix.
7.) Wipe Dalvik and Cache
8.) Reboot. (Will take about 10-15 mins to boot)
9a.) Wait until there is a prompt to install necessary patches and allow root access
9b.) Chose your battery and clock settings then reboot
10.) Go through the setup but do not log into the Samsung account or Google account during initial setup
11.) After the setup log into your google account
12.)Initially there is no calling audio and no My Verizon application support.
To fix this download root browser and navigate to the system folder and edit the build.prop by clicking on the build.prop file > use rb text editor > change these values to:
ro.product.model=SM-N920V
ro.product.name=trltevzw
*Note it is case sensitive*
Then click save
Then using root browser navigate to the system/privapp folder and delete the VzwSilentSSOEngine folder
Then reboot
**Note: On My Verizon you will need to log into your account using your user name and not your number**
13.) Enjoy!!
Once you are at your home screen make sure you are logged into your Google account before accessing Dr. Ketan Tweaks app because there is a dependency app that is required to be installed from the Play Store when you launch Dr. Ketan tweaks app.
To disable infinite scroll on TW launcher go to Dr. Ketan tweaks and long press launcher home scroll then back out and test.
I tested most tweaks and they work as they should. Please post any issues on this thread.
(Please do not try any of the network based features in Ketan's tweaks as they are meant for the international Note 4)
Please read the readme before using the debloater tool to get an idea of what it removes
As of right now there is no xposed support. I will need the help from users to find the best way to get it installed and I will update the OP with instructions.
Downloads:
Again **Note only Dr. Ketan's L16F Note 5 port works for our phone. He has a Marshmallow version out also, so be sure to only download the L16F version.**

**READ ME**
Bugs:
- No GearVR support
- *MMS does not work correctly on the stock Messaging app (group chats come in and send as individual messages, and unable to send picture messages)
**(Workaround: Use Textra as default messaging app, MMS works like it should)**
- Unable to perform a factory reset within the settings because you will get non-stop FC's once booted up.
- If you do not wipe internal storage any old Note 2 files in you SNote data folder will kill the SNote app. So remove them from that folder and you'll be able to use SNote.
- System update in settings force closes the Settings
- Simultaneous data works at 4G speeds when talking on the phone but it shows it as a 1X connection. (Must have a 4G connection to work)
- To get My Verizon to work:
1. Navigate to /system/priv_app and delete the VzwSilentSSOEngine folder.
2. Edit the system/buid.prop file. Change the model value to SM-N920V and save.
3. Reboot.
4. You need to log into My Verizon using your user name your number will not work
Thanks @stueycaster and @rayjr13
- Verizon Visual Voicemail does not work and may never work
- Screen mirroring may not work
- If you change the model value in the build.prop to Verizon Note 4 model value (SM-N910V) it will break the theme store. Switch it back to SM-N920V to get theme store working again.
Read/search through the original OP threads for any non-Verizon specific issues first.
Credits:
Thank you so much @dr.ketan for developing your Note 5 Port !!
Thank you @Battlehero for creating a data fix for our phone !!
Thank you @hsbadr for your constant development and support for the Verizon Note 4, and of course for Jasmine ROM and multi-system kernel !!!

That is weird about the play store. If you don't mind try starting over and skip both the google sign in and samsung sign in

Damn ok wait till it updates itself. You'll get the Google Play Store splash screen when you launch it once it's done updating. Hopefully that fixes it. I really wonder if logging on during the setup causes that. Regardless I updated the OP to hold off on logging onto google until after initial setup to make it exactly how I had it set up.
