[Q] Remove Sprint Activation - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hello,
i have a Sprint HTC One from a Friend, he bought it in the US not knowing it was Simlocked and took it to Germany. He gave it to me to make it possible to use it here with our T-Mobile Network. I have already being able to remove the Simlock but there is one thing i cant remove, its the damn Activation Process from Sprint. The Phone can be used now but its anoying every time you start the divice. Also its not possible to flash a AOSP Rom because it doesnt let me get trough the setup process without activating. Is there any possibility to ged rid of the Activation Process? I didnt find this in the Forum but when there is a Thread about this already pls give me a link. Thank you!

If u flash an aosp it is possible to bypass activation. Since the activation is part of the gapps all u have to do is flash an aosp then boot and then when ur in just boot back to the recovery and flash the gapps and u should be good.

The device doesn't have to be initialized to be flashed. You can get the bootloader unlocked using the developer token and then fastboot flash in the ROM you want.

No, he wants to have it SIM Unlocked to use with GSM carriers over in Germany. He hates how it attempts to activate on Sprints network every time he boots up. He doesn't want that. He has no issues unlocking bootloader. All he needs to do is install ROM through recovery but do not install GApps until setup is complete.

Okay, i have already flashed other Roms but the Sprint Roms have the activation and with the aosp i cant get Signal in the german Networks..

That, I believe is merged into the Phone.apk but it may not be.

Has anyone tried it??
I have tried a couple different ways. Nothing seems to be working for the I896
I have as well and can't seem to do it I paid for an unlock code as well but doesn't seem to work.although I haven't tried with a sim card in yet.things aren't looking so good... Theres another method on here for a permanent unlock but I'm leary on trying that yet, I've skimmed the phone trying to find anything and nothing too promising.

This phone works on rogers/fido. Rogers lock their phones on all carriers except fido because it's their child company. I've been using it on fido since launch day 2 weeks ago.

Anyone managed to unlock it??? do the "pay" websites really unlock it or are they scams?

Just unlocked mine. First had to root it then used universal SIM unlock method by miztaken1312 (sorry, can't post the link yet).
The one click unlock will NOT work, Rogers cleaned up their firmware, so the unlock code is no longer stored on the phone itself. However, miztaken1312 method modifies one of the system files on the phone to store the unlock code of your choice. Basically, after you set up ADB and root your phone you download a special system file from the phone, patch it using special online utility, upload the modified file back to the phone and now you know the unlock code.
Update: in case someone is still looking for info on how to unlock Rogers Samsung Galaxy S Captivate SGH-I896, here's the link to the site I used: http://www.communityhosting.net/sgsunlock/
Root your phone first with z4root app from the market, then backup and make sure to follow these steps carefully!

Try this
#7465625*638*Unlock code#
i used BWolf56's advice and superoneclick (by CLShortFuse) rooted my captivate but didnt unlock it because i had already updated from eclair to froyo. I tried to hex edit using NovaChief's instructions on the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1047770&page=4
-(thread Posted by manojsuper) but this method was way over my head (im a noob.)
I used helroz's unlock without code program(galaxy_s unlock) and it worked with wifi connection without a sim. after unlocking i went to my phone dialer and pressed *#7465625# and it said unlocked. then i put my chinese sim in and it worked like magic.
i feel your pain. stick with it and you will get it done.
maybe my experience will be of some help. you can read my thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062078
dont forget to thanks the guys and donate to the developers of the programs.
also i think you need busybox and wifi connection to use helroz's program which is fricken awesome. and BWolf56, thanks again.
u dont need an AT&T sim...even i opened my captivate here in India (no AT&T)...i booted it up...rooted it...used one click root and one click unlock...it gave me the code...as simple as that!
where did you get one click root and one click unlock? ive tried the super one click and it said pass word blocked
Try here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
There's an app on the market called "Galaxy_S Unlock". It works without a SIM. I just used it on the refurb I got last night. It's a 1012 build, that came with UCKB2. Worked like a champ. I put an old T-Mobile SIM card in it to test it and it picked up a signal and showed T-Mobile in the notification area.

no problem Out of interest , which method did you use?
I used both of them, and i got same unlock pin code in either case. I think that second one (one with pushing .sh file) is a little bit easier to read. Greetings, and thank you once again.

I used both methods also and got same code. now if there was a way to unlock the device once and not have to unlock everytime a sim is changed that would be awesome.

I tried to follow the instructions however I never got the unlock code or I am just being dumb when I use method 2 my results are identical to your 2nd screenshot,
there is no 3rd line of text?
Using the first option what I see is very similar to your first screenshot with Vodafone instead of O2. But again no code that I can see.
I have tried inserting simcards from t-mobile and O2 however I never get asked to enter a code. Not that I have a code to enter, I wish I could work out where I am going wrong.

The phone is a friends who got it from someone it was on vodafone rru and had the branding on startup and shut down, before I rooted it and put on CWM and Nameless Rom, but when I try my t-mobile sim card it doesn't get a signal for when, unfortunately I do not know if this was an issue as it wasn't supplied to me with a sim card.
I will contact my friend and see if he can supply me his sim card so I can test it. Hopefully as you say it is unlocked. Not sure when i will get the sim card to be able to test it though.

hmmm when you say doesnt get signal.... i wonder if its because its a vodafone branded desire C... it will have everything for Voda hard wired in the device... and wont have any t-mo APNs etc. TMo arent exactly friendly when it comes to APN info unlike other providors like O2 & Voda
I wonder if that is the issue is that no data APNs are selected....

If you want to get your unlock code, you need to flash a Custom Rom, NAmeless For Example.
Once thats been done, you can install busybox and follow the instructions and you get your code.
i managed to succesfully unlock my Desire C
its a stock phone, bought it from Asda UK - on T-Mobile network
although it doesent have any t-mobile branding or carrier apps or boot up logo like most phones have
after unlocking my bootloader and using r1-superuser Root, it went very smooth
but one thing i did notice that seems odd, my IMEI is different in the command shell
to what is displayed in the phone
xxxxxxxxx584298 - displayed from phone
xxxxxxxxx5842901 - displayed on the command shell

[Q] Unable to unlock phone

So, basically, I got a new pay-as-you-go SIM and I don't want to buy a new phone for it. I was looking for methods to unlock my current galaxy ace, it's rooted and I have a custom ROM on it- The Ultimatum by The "A" Factor. I got my unlock codes and put the SIM in expecting to get a screen saying phone is locked, please put in unlock code or something similar that usually happens. However nothing came up but when the phone finished booting, I had no service and can't use it for calls or anything which suggests that the phone is still locked, I tried using the *#7465525# service code, but I got an error saying no service or incorrect MUDI code or something like that. Is it possible that flashing a new ROM wiped the unlocking procedures and is there anyway for me to know if my phone is unlocked and if not, can I still unlock it?

If it doesn't work you could phone to the device's carrier, the carrier must help you if you finished your contract

I do have another SIM from another carrier, but the screen isn't showing up, I've been scouring the internet and found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335548 , turns out it won't show because of my ROM, so I'll have to switch to stock like you said, before I do that though I'll try that code he said at the end to see if it will unlock. [Q] Need Help Flashing a Spring HTC One back to Sprint

I picked up an Sprint HTC One that had been flashed to NTelos (East coast carrier) and would like to flash it back to Sprint. I called Sprint and they verified that the IMEI # was clean and could be activated back onto sprint. Honestly I am not looking to activate the phone on sprint but temporarily to T-Mobile and shortly to a UK Cellular company. We are only in the US for another 12 days and I think that having the phone on Ntelos will potentially mess up the global capabilities of this phone. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Matt

Thanks for the info but I have been trying to get root access and it won't let me get past the recovery area. When I choose recovery it doesn't allow me to choose to install any thing, when I choose recovery it immediately does a restart with the red triangle. Please forgive me if I am missing something simple, I am still very much a noob but know just enough to get me in trouble. Thanks for the info.
