Spigen Slim Armor Case - G2 Accessories

Anyone pick up the Slim Armor case by Spigen for the AT&T? I would like to see some screenshots from the front, top, botttom and back if you have bought the case.

Got a metal slate one otw from Amazon for 20 bucks shipped. Will post pics when I get it.

I got mine yesterday in blue. I really like it. Very solid feeling in the hand. Doesn't feel cheap by any means and seems like it would be hard to scratch up.

Can you check the mic cut outs? Someone on amazon is reporting that the mic next to the flash is covered up by the case

Nope, no problem here. They do have a hole for it....unless there is another mic I'm unaware of...

Does the case have all the proper cutouts for the 3.5mm jack, IR blaster, both mics, speaker grills. How tight is the fit for the back buttons? Can u post some pics on this stuff?

There is a pic a few posts up showing the fit arond the buttons/camera. Yes it has all propper cutouts. For ATT only though...

The ATT, Tmobile and Sprint will all look the same. It is only the Verizon version that is unique not only in the button placement but the speaker grill positioning.

Got mines today. Great looking case. I just wish it was less of a finger print magnet. Also wish the borders of the case were a little bit more raised but hey its slim armour. Overall 4/5.

Actually not as bad as I thought. The rubber on top, and bottom of the case, raise the phone up off the surface when its sat on its back. So the whinny back never contacts the table ect.....

looks like it bubbled up the edges of your screen protector?

I have the metal slate case and just got an email from Spigen saying they updated the design and will be shipping me another with a bigger hole for the IR blaster.

My slim armor case I bought off Amazon didn't have a noise cancellation cut out. I got it today and then I got an email from them saying they are shipping me a new case free of charge because my stock number didn't have it. Beast company.

Metal bumper case question.. For those who own one.

Does your metal bumper case have a slight raise from the side to prevent scratches to both front and back especially the camera lens?
Do you think it would fit with a slim case?
Please post a link where you bought it.
Thank you very much and pardon my engrish!

If you worry about the back, maybe you can just buy a spare battery cover from eBay. I got 2 and they are about 8 dollars each and they are both with nfc

I bought one a couple of weeks ago. I think the aluminium case gives good screen protection, but although it is reasonably low profile the few millimetres each side do seem to make the Note 2 feel much bigger. I personally don't think it's the most elegant case, they look OK from the front, but the back doesn't seem to follow the flow of the stock battery case too well.
Don't get me wrong, the phone fits in perfectly without any movement but not my cup of tea. I lose one bar on the phone signal when the case is on, NFC is fine.
Possibly a like or hate accessory!
Thanks for all the replies. That was my main concern. I wanted a metal bumper case that has a slight rise to protect the camera lens. I'm going to buy a ballistic 3 layer protection case since GN2 can be easily damage even at waist height drop.
Why ballistic? Because its relatively cheap, unlike otterbox and offers awesome drop protection. Had one for E4GT and money worth spending.
Thanks again.

i use that one. slight raises on the front and back to protect the camera. It adds a little weight to the phone but its not unbearable. I actually like it. I also got the armror suit military shield screen and back protector. Screen protector was not compatible with the case, cause when I removed the phone from the case, the sliding portion of the front peeled the screen protector off. and the added thickness of the armorsuit full body protector makes it very snug in the case. probably the reason why it the screen protector peeled off as I was trying to remove it.

I'd hate to use the bumper case where you need a small screw to open (i think I saw a bumper case like that once).

If theres any UK users in this thread that wants a black aluminium bumper for free then let me know and PM me your address. Luxury Flip Leather Case Cover Review w/ Video

Hey guys! Made a quick video review of a new case I just got in today. It's like Samsung's Flip Case, but with some added protection and a magnet that keeps it from moving and opening up when you don't want it to. Definitely recommend it!
Sorry for the random black spots during transitions, still new to this! I also need a DSLR camera and better tripod, haha.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RE9uU_tflM&feature=youtu.be
Yes, was thinking about this. Love my current Samsung Flip case but the lack of corner drop protection does make me a bit paranoid. I really wish someone made a case like this with a kickstand.

Does the back feel cheap at all? I'm kind of a branding snob. Does the generic look take away from the quality? How does the hinge hold up when you fold the top back? Does it fold back completely and easily?
Does the magnet cause s pen issues?

Nope, the magnet is to the side of the screen, so no interference at all. And the link to do the case is in the info on youtube. Just click to expand. I'll post it on here soon, too.
One issue, though, is it can be a bit difficult to grab the Spen, so if you use it often, that could be an annoyance.

I have exactly the same case, but I would not call it luxury, either from the price (I paid $7 on ebay) or the quality.
OP's case does looks nicer and more premium than my similar case, mine even has Samsung on the metal magnet clip on the cover, but looks and feels like total crap, tossed it to the trash can as soon as I got it.
I'm currently waiting for Amigo flip case, looks super nice from the pic, no magnet though.

There's a few other listings of "luxury" cases
that look similar but aren't the same. If it I'd the same though, I guess it could be a matter of personal preference? I personally love the soft, textured feel of the case. Feels quite nice to hold.

I have the same case as the OP and didn't notice until watching his video that the blue on the latch is only protective tape. I peeled it off and now it's a nice stainless/chrome look.
I can only grab the S-Pen with my little fingernail, but it should be easy enough to cut/file/Dremel the slot a little bigger if it's enough of a problem.

Useful review. Case looks nice, but sadly, once again they forgot to have a cutout for the notification LED. I'd also prefer cutouts for better access to the volume buttons, as I use those a lot as shortcuts and when playing audio (with cases closed).
Most (or all cases ignore this however, especially the LED hole). And it should have a larger SPen cutout like this one. But looks ok for the price.

I agree, having that would be very nice. I may have my dad just got one out himself, actually. I mean sometimes its nice cause I don't always like to see if I have a notification, but for that I could just turn the case over. And with the cover I wouldn't have to worry about getting any scratches.

Quick question to the OP and the other person who owns this case. What type of corner protection does this offer? What material is used for the part that holds onto the phone? Is it a hard plastic like PC or is it a softer Silicone/TPU type material?

Mine is plain hard plastic. Part of one corner is gone due to a drop from less than two feet.
Owned this for 2 weeks until it started affecting the spen area around the magnet. no biggie if you dont use the spen just something to consider.

i've got this bumper as well as the bumper previously posted. i find this one to be more durable and study and it also goes over the back which stops your back cover and camera lens from touching whatever surface you put it on.
both can limit your options with accessories though since the ports for the headphones jack and microusb port are quite small and can block some accessories (it blocks my htc car charger and asus n7 2A charger so i ended up using a saw to cut a bit off the microusb area. still sturdy and durable.
the only thing i didnt like was that these cases arent grippy, so im just using an xtremeguard skin on the battery door since it adds a lot more grip.

if i remember correctly, on the note 2, according to the samsung tear down, the antenna isnt in the top corner, its on the lower part of the backside of the device (next to the speaker). signal on my device has not been affected.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Al.../160898550396?ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:C:AU:3160
the cutouts are small and prevent you from using some accessories (some car chargers and headphones wont connect fully). its also only protecting the sides and the screen, it doesnt go over the back part at all so offers no back protection.
thats the reason why i ditched it for this one instead.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310537377953&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:AU:1123
this one has bigger cutouts, is slightly thicker (read sturdier and more durable) and goes over the back a bit as well to reduce the risk of grains of sand rubbing against your camera glass when you lay it on a table.
Ended up ordering this one.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1xMetal-Alu.../271113513041?ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:C:US:3160
The back is pennies to replace and I've put a small piece of screen protector over the camera, so I'm not too concerned about those two factors.

I have the gold push button aluminum bumper and the rounded silver zomgo bumper. Of the two I prefer the look of the zomgo however the opening for the usb port is way to small. I got a discount from the seller and dremeled the opening and the usb seats perfect now.
Originally I paired them with the matching aluminum battery cover however after trial and error I found the metal battery cover (not the bumper) was causing pretty serious the signal degradation. So I got the carbon fiber battery covers which work great without degrading the Wifi or LTE signal.

I hate how the metal plate could potentially come into contact with the screen. You grab it wrong and could push the flap sliding it over the screen, the metal plate will scratch the gorilla glass.

Yeah there concerns about that. Some use plastidip. I think I'm going to remove the metal plate and wrap the part that would come in contact with the screen with electric tape

Or a screen protector would help too right? I'm gonna have to find my can of plastidip! If there's real friction though the dip will probably just peel right off and scratch the glass

The slimfit multi angle case is what I got, I love it..recomend it to anyone

I mentioned in another thread that the plastidip company now makes a primer that supposedly makes it stick better to metal. You might try that if you are worried about peeling...

I opted for the genuine leather version of the Moko slim fit multi angle case. Absolutely perfect! Very nicely finished, fits beautifully, looks great. Opening for Pogo charger (stitched all around too). A bit more than the PU leather version, but it is very nice for $21.

Metal will scratch Gorilla Glass, I have 2 scratches on my my N10's left bezel from where my watch band nicked it.

This can't be true. It would depend on so many factors such as the specific metal, the shape of the metal where it comes into contact (a point, an edge, a curve..), the force of contact, etc. Gorilla glass isn't some mystical impervious material.

Just received my ultra-slim Moko. For $6 it's nice but I really wouldn't recommend it for a few reasons.
1) As mentioned before, the metal piece on the cover could potentially come in contact with your screen and scratch it.
2) When closed, the cover slides around. This is very obnoxious when you are walking around with your tablet in one hand. Basically, if you hold it vertical, the cover slides up while the tablet slides down from its weight. Over time this is just going to get worse as the cover loosens.
3) I'm having lots of trouble making it stand up in both positions and stay put. The triangle fold does not hold, I think due to poor choice of the size of each edge of the triangle. Maybe with time it will get better but it hasn't so far.
Overall this thing is just flimsy, although it does look and feel nice to the touch.

Pictures of Nexus 5 with SPIGEN Ultra Hybrid Case on

I got my Nexus 5 in the mail today and just thought I would share some pictures of the phone inside the SPIGEN Ultra Hybrid case for you guys. Let me know if you want other pics guys. Enjoy and sorry about the messy room. My brother dosent clean up after himself.
Edit: Added two new pictures of the back. I didnt realize there was a plastic on the inside and outside. So here is a much better look
Does the cutout for the flash reflect with the flash and distort pictures(or lighting within pictures) when the flash is used?

Also, did you put the screen protector on? do the proximity sensor, front facing camera, and all that still function perfectly?
I just saw a few reviews for spigen products. I myself ordered the slim armor. By any chance have you tried their glad.tr? Do these cases have a strong feel to them?

I did not put the screen protector on yet. I am about to do that right now. The case has a very nice premium feel to it with the phone. Fits tight and is not loose at all. I dont have to push down really hard for the buttons to click. You dont have to apply that much pressure or the buttons and all the cutouts are perfect. When taking photos with flash it does not affect the photos at all.

Very nice strong, premium feeling to it. Not cheep or flimsy at all!
I just ordered one of these about 15 minutes ago. It's going to be a rough few days with my worrying about scratching the phone without a case.
Hopefully this one will hold me over until I can get my hands on the official "bumper"
How are the buttons? Stiff? Clicky?

Did anybody try the regnorke brand one that's the same kind of thing with the clear back. I saw it on eBay and it seemed like they were the same thing but it had a little part jutting out so the screen won't touch the surface its laying on.

The dbrand skins are gonna look real nice with this case ... cannot wait to get my hand on all three ... the N5 and case are already on their way

buttons are not stiff at all. You dont have to press down hard for the button to click, which has always been my problem with other tpu cases that cover buttons. On this case it feels as if your pressing on the button with nothing covering it at all. Its very nice
Is the back side frosted or clear?
I would like to put a skin on the back too but not with this brand if the case is hazzy.
i'm sold! i'm thinking of picking up the same case.

Thanks! I am a huge fan of the Ringke Fusion. My only concern was the buttons. I dislike TPU covered buttons. I will wait for mine to come in and cancel the Neo Hybrid.

Did you take the plastic off the case on the outside and inside? The rear plastic looks a bit hazy.
Nice! Now I just need someone to post some detailed pictures of the Nexus 5 with the Neo Hybrid case on. I've got the Neo Hybrid waiting at home until my phone arrives on Thursday.

Please do let us know how the sensor and front camera fairs with the screen protector on.
