I'm not rooted...yet lol. but nova and tapa are working okay. ..not sure why root would cause that though.
What root method did you use if you don't mind?

I'm curious to know what model SM-900W8 is. Thought "T" is tmobile and "A" is at&t.

Well seems it's titanium backups with data restore causing the problem. If I uninstall the entire app and reinstall without data restore everything is fine. Guess data restore on titanium is a no go

What root method? Are you using T-Mobile Note 3?

I used the cf auto root for SM-N900W8 Canadian note 3

Yep, not sure if it's titanium doing itself or just the note 3. I think it's titanium personally. Maybe I'll see if the dev can look into the matter. Sucks redoing all my nova settings etc :/

Fix for Titanium Backup restoring with data.

I am new to android with the Galaxy Note 3 on AT&T and this prevention information notification started popping up yesterday.
I am not using a rooted device (yet) and all apps have been downloaded from the Play Store.
Any advice to figure out what the offending app is or how to get rid of the notification would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys!!

Maybe this (below) will help: (I pulled this from the Q&A section of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474422)
I am getting a "Prevention Information" popup after running a root app, how do I disable it?
From terminal emulator or adb shell as root, run; pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid
Or freeze the Knox apps with Titanium Backup.

There have been a number of reports of this error occurring within the past day or so (google search reveals a number of people with this issue) for people with only stock apps and apps from the Play store on unrooted devices...
Samsung's documentation for knox describes a notification called "Prevention Information", which would have a shortcut to the app manager to remove the offending app, but that guide is for a system where knox is in use with a knox container, though....
What happens if you click OK instead of Cancel...? Anything? I wonder if that will get you to the app manager that the samsung documentation mentions.

This requires root - this this is occurring on unrooted phone, running only apps from play store.
I got the error once, but I was rooted and doing something that I'm sure looked sketchy to Knox, so I don't think that one was inappropriate.

Rooting my phone and applying a custom rom has fixed all my issues getting rid of all that Knox crap. So problem solved for me anyway

Thanks DrAzzy,
So if I click Ok it brings up a list of all my apps but it doesn't show (or even hint) at which is the offending app.
What I have done so far is:
Factory Reset my phone
Went to google play and reinstalled all my downloaded apps
within an hour the notification came back
factory reset my phone
started installing 1 by 1 apps
I haven't recieved the notification as of yet .....
RE: Knox
As far as I can tell Knox is not on my phone. I know Samsung was hyping up knox in their Note3 keynote but I cant find it ... It must be something running in the background.

Knox is under Settings>General>Security>Device Administrators. But mine is unchecked and still got same message. btw, running stock

So I reset to default and then started reinstalling apps one by one.
The offending app turned out to be Angry Birds Star Wars 2 Free yea i know its angry birds but uninstalled that and the prevention information has not returned since.

Started to do this on my device also as of earlier today. Not rooted and all programs were downloaded from Playstore. Knox is not even checked under security administrators.

A temp fix for you guys.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab Store Demo (videoviewdemo) removal

Greetings:
Last Christmas, I had purchased a Samsung Galaxy Tablet (GT-P1000R) for my mother. Apparently, I had purchased the store demo one, as opposed to a regular one.
Now, after a couple of minutes, it always goes to a store demo video, which drains the battery power and is overall quite annoying. I have isolated the application in question as "VIDEOVIEWDEMO"
I have tried the usual, such as going to - SETTINGS - APPLICATIONS - MANAGE APPLICATIONS - and selected VideoViewDemo. Unistall is not an option in this case. There is a ForceStop but it just restarts anyway, so it is useless to force stop.
I then went ahead and did a factory reset, but surprise, nothing changed.
I read threads of people having similar issues, with one suggesting to download APK Manager and then uninstall it that way. Again, no luck as it did not register as an app running on APK Manager.
Is there anyway to fix this issue? My mom is leaving tomorrow so I need to try to get this resolved within 24 hours.
Any help would be appreciated.
You need to root your tab, and you then can uninstall it using Titanium Backup.
Why do you wait 3 months to ask, and give yourself 24hr to do that?

Play Store Problems?

Anyone else having problems with the play store tonight? I did DG's root earlier, but I think it's unrelated because I didn't notice it until tonight.
I've tried clearing cache and data, in the play store and google services. I've even tried removing and adding my google account with mutliple reboots.
It fixed my original error [RPC:S-5:AEC-0], and now I'm just getting a server error (500).
Anyone else notice this? I want to know if it's google and I need to be patient, or if it's just me and I need to keep troubleshooting.
Thanks!

I was 10 seconds from starting a thread myself, getting the 500 error myself as well. I tried all of the following:
1. Go to settings -> Applications -> Manage -> All -> Market
2. Press the Force Close button, press OK to acknowledge this is what you want to do.
3. Press Clear Cache, press OK if it asks you to confirm your actions
4. Exit the screen
5. Go to settings -> Accounts and Sync
6. Click your Google account
7. Press Remove at the top right corner. Press OK to confirm this is what you want to do.
8. Exit the screen
9. Launch Market
10. The Market app will ask you for an account. Put your Google information back in.
11. Once you put the account info in, you'll get the disclaimer. Press OK.
12. Now try to download an app.
But you said you tested it on a non-rooted phone and it gets the same error at least puts me at ease a little. Are you on a custom FW or Stock?
I am on the new root. I have an s4 one another line and it is not rooted at all and it is getting the 500 error

I'm convinced it's on Google's end. I started having problems on my 1st gen Nexus 7 tablet. After fighting it for a half hour I decided to see if my Evo 4G phone was also having problems, and sure enough it is too.
Searching google for "google play store error" discussions in the last 24 hours I am seeing lots of other people chattering about problems too.

Final Fantasy V

Has anyone gotten this game to load? I'll touch the icon to launch the game, it'll sit there for a minute and then exit back to the home screen. No error message or anything. I sent a customer support email to Square Enix, but who knows how long that will take. Thought maybe someone here knew of the problem and how to fix it.
Thanks in advance!

Exposed is actually the problem. The newer square Enix games check for it and don't work if it is found. Not really sure why they do, but it started with version 1.0.3 of final fantasy dimensions, and it is also present in all versions of IV and V. You have to disable all modules and reboot for it to work.

I actually want to get the game on another device without re-downloading it. I bought the game on my phone because that's the only way I could get it charged to my AT&T phone bill, but I really wanted it to play on my Nexus 7 tablet. I just can't download the whole game again because my wifi sucks at my house. I don't have xposed on the Nexus, but I have Titanium Backup. I transferred the 3 TiBu files from my phone to my tablet and even the obb folder and put it in the obb folder under Android. I then ran Restore App + Data on the tablet. Now, whenever I tap the FFV icon on the tablet, it just hangs for a second and then goes straight to the home screen. I've used TiBu many times before and the method I just described has worked for every other app I've transferred from my phone to my tablet. I'm just confounded why it won't work with this app. Any other suggestions? You've already been a big help!

I think it has to do with the extra data the apply needs to download on first run. Titanium backup will backup the apk and save data, but it doesn't backup the usually 100+mb obb file stored on the sd card.
You could copy the file from:
sdcard/Android/obb/ com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFV_GP
to your computer and then transfer it to your other device and it should work.
Sent from my Verizon Galaxy Note 2 using Xparent Skyblue Tapatalk 2
I did that. I have the folder: com.square_enix.android_googleplay.FFV_GP in Android/obb and in that folder contains the 140.43MB file: main.105.com.square_enix.android_Google play.FFV_GP.obb. I also have the apk.gz, properties and tar.gz files in the TiBu folder. I then ran Restore App+Data in TiBu. It then goes through the install process and then when it's finished, I hit Open, the screen goes blank for a minute and then exits to home.
Like I said, I've done this with many games and apps before and it's never given me problems like this stupid game is right now. Who would've thought it would be so hard to try to relive a small piece of my childhood?

Fix I found for it to work
I have had the same problem stated, Xposed installed and FFV black screen and returning to home screen.
Xposed is the problem, the fix I found is to move Xposed as a system app and any modules.
Works for me.
Had the same problem. The game worked fine stock ROM but stopped working i flashed the ARHD custom ROM for HOX+ loaded with exposed. Coudn't fix the issue. Now playing it on my DHD.

Rooting my gear tonight... Question

I was told if I root my gear I can use bluetooth tether and essentially run apps on my gear. The apps I'm looking to run are for my car alarm and ingress. So what I was wondering is what I was told true? And do I just have to root my gear or does my phone have to be rooted as well? Because right now I have the Note 3 completely stock and unrooted.

You dont need to root your gear in order to run custom apps, depending on what type of app it is tho they may or may not work..
I would read up on side loading applications first, test the waters out.. the apps you require may work straight out of the box by simply side loading them to your gear with out rooting.
Alternatively if you find the apps dont work, you can try loading my rom which includes a few library's, unlocked features & other various functions that some apps require in order to run correctly.
EDIT: Here is a simple guide on how to sideload applications: HERE

I saw a YouTube video where guy was actually playing ingress on his watch, what was on his phone screen transferred to watch screen same for his car alarm app, he just didn't say if it was rooted or not I just figured it was lol. Sorry had to edit my post. I do think you probably needs to be rooted to run something like ingress since it's an online game and the gear can't run anything online like a game or Facebook so I guess maybe that's why it has to be rooted and use a Bluetooth transfer lol I'm a very big newbie when it comes to the gear.

Bluetooth tethering is the easiest way. If you root your watch you can actually install play store and download as if it's a tablet tethered. Some apps may need to be wifi spoofed with is a xposed module included in null.
Keep in mind your phone needs to be running an international rom. I had to get rid of my T-Mobile rom for an international to enable Bluetooth tethering. Wasn't the watch holding me back, rather the phone itself

How did you go about installing SuperSU, and disabling Knox?
UPDATE: I see in his thread about SuperSU. Does it automatically disable Knox? Or do I have to go about Titanium Backup and disable all the appropriate apps?

SuperSU automatically prompts and asks if you want to disable Knox. The first time I ran it, it hung. Rebooted, and ran again, and it disabled right away. Was golden after that point.
