[Q] Non Root Viper or other audio mod? - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so i was wondering if one of the developers when they have time could develop a cool audio mod for bluetooth and headphone access. but for a phone that doesn't have to be rooted. the reason im asking this is because i got the at&t next and i don't wanna mess the phone up. i told someone i wouldn't. i really wanted to otherwise. but the phone has to be in almost perfect condition when i return it next year for the note 4. i can donate a little money to someone that could do this if that's necessary.

Gotta have root access unfortunately. Only option for now is to tweak the eq with an app. Gotta be able to get in the build prop and library for the good stuff.

How is your phone running? If it's running good, why in the world are you worried about a synthetic benchmark?

Look. ....... if it was scoring low here and there I wouldn't worry about it. But this is bs!! 15000!!! Really! On a phone with the snapdragon 800 and 3 gigs of ram!!! Yes I'm a little worried. I believe u would b too bro.

Bro, I've seen you around a while and believe me, I didn't mean any disrespect. I understand that's low and I guess I would be a little concerned too.
I was just thinking overall that I am more concerned about how my phone is actually running. But I see your point about the low score. I really don't know what could be causing it but good luck bro!

I wasnt trying to b disrespectful either bro. And ya I remember u too. It just sucks paying top dollar for a phone, then seeing less scores than the phones that are 6 months older with the snapdragon 600!! I'm pretty pist about it.
And what makes it worse is seeing another user with the exact same phone scoring 23000!

Yeah, I hear ya bro. I initially was very happy with this phone and I mostly still am. But little things are starting to wear on me and I've been having thoughts of jumping ship.
The community for this phone is surprisingly the least active of any phone that I've ever owned. It's kind of a downer. I understand the whole locked bootloader thing, but it seems like interest is low in this phone but I'm not sure why other than the locked bootloader.
Another reason is the wifi issues. I frequently get the unstable connection message and lately my wifi performance has been terrible. I can't even watch a YouTube video without it constantly buffering.
And it seems like there is no fix in sight from Samsung. Not sure when or if there will ever be a fix.
I got in on that $150 promo code for the Moto X and I'm heavily considering getting one as an extra phone worst case scenario. But if I somehow like it, I might dump this phone and make a little profit in the process. Not sure yet.

I'm not having any issues with WiFi? I.m currently using a Belkin router on 2.4 and 5.0 GHz. You don't have a metal case on do you? Or anything near your router that could be interfering?
I personally wouldn't get rid of your phone either ...You have to remember this phone is still newer, Wait till after Christmas and watch how many more at&t note 3 users come...Development is still young I've seen this stage in almost all my experiences with prior phones. Soon as we get the boot-loader fix,,,Watch how many roms, And ported material fly this way.

Ya mj5. I think it's totally up to u. Mine auto updated, so I didn't have a choice. I wish it would have fixed the power button lag, and I wish they would have left the keyboard white. But ya we have a way to get roms on mj5 and I'm sure a Odin will b out sooner rather than later.
Up to u my man.

What else have you seen though? After you install Null there are a few apps out there that you can install, but a lot of them are not built for the screen/keyboard on the watch, so you might not use them much.
It would be useful to install a custom ROM so you can tinker with it, but it's not like it's going to open the flood gates for you when it comes to custom apps
I work in the city BTW (near the ferry) but I won't be back in the office until next week. I can probably walk you through it though, it's really not that hard.

Favorite sound mod?

Browsing these forums, I've come across many sound mods. I personally haven't tried any yet. I'm curious as to what your favorites are. Not to say one is better than another, but what are some of your personal favorites?
I'd like to give them a try.

I use Viper4Android. Lot's of sound customisation available, easy to use and works on both speaker and headphones.
Actually, I resent my last statement. I have tried viper4android, but one of my settings kept causing my audio to fade out for a second or so, every few minutes. I couldn't find out what it was, so ever since flashing a new Rom, I haven't bothered with it.

M8 vs Note 3 user experience.

The only thing I can see that you'll miss is the screen size.. and maybe the stylus.. otherwise everything else beats the note 3. I did notice that even with a gig of less ram, this phone still out performs the note 3. Oh and the sound is worth the switch alone.

Agreed 100% The stylus was great for a while but like all Samsung gimmicks, they just get in the way after a while.
And I know not everyone likes it, but BlinkFeed is a feature I use every day.

I made the transition from the Note 3 to this phone. The Note 3 ran pretty much flawlessly for me and I had no real complaints about it. It's just that I'm kind of phone obsessed and really wanted this phone.
This phone definitely has a way sexier build and feels like a quality device compared to the Note 3. I also feel that the camera is better on this phone than the Note 3. The difference in screen size is noticeable but this screen is not exactly small so you will get used to it after a little while.
Overall, if you are a phone fanatic who needs the latest and greatest I don't think you'll regret getting the M8. It's a sleek and sexy phone that takes better pics than the Note 3
One of the features I love on my Note is being able to assign a Notification Tone to a contact. Is this possible on the M8?

I currently own both (Note 3) and (M8 Harman Kardon Edition).
While the M8 has superior build quality and superior sound it does not beat the Note 3 imo...Especially if you use and love S-Pen functionality and care about camera quality.
