Differences? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Didn't see this question answered anywhere, so I'm curious, what are the differences between the 2013 model and the original? And why are most of the AOSP ROMs in the Original Dev section?

2013 version? o.o
However, in the Original Dev section there is the most of AOSP/AOKP/Paranoid based rom because the original section is for android "stock".
The development will contain all other roms
p.s. There isn't a rule

Q1 of the HTC One FAQ should help explain why we find a lot of AOSP ROMs in Original Development as opposed to Android Development
I'm also not sure what you mean by 2013 version though as the newest members of the One family (One, Mini & Max) all got released this year

Wasn't there a One released a few months after the Amaze? At least, that's how I remember it. I was thinking "Original" pertained to the original One I am referring to.

There has only ever been one 'One'. There was the One X that was out before it if that's what you mean

[Q] Sgs2 touchwiz 4 Rom Port

Hi Guys
I already searched through this forum but did not find a thread for this. Is it possible to port the sgs2 stock rom to our O2X? From hardware point of view both are pretty similar (tegra 2... ).
Thanks for your help.

The SGSII isn't a Tegra2 phone. There are plans to release one in some markets, but I don't think they have yet.
I know it is an exynos phone but i read that some people received a model with tegra2

The tegra version should be GT-i9103 but the source has not been released yet.
But you never know, they might never even release that tegra 2 version.

do you want the whole rom?
just the launcher??

I think you meen the rom because all apps there ex. Camera and radio and so on works with 2.3. But what is with the internal. Because the devices are different hardware. The tegra chip is not the whol phone

hi
looks like i wasted my time opening this thread
link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101123
the purpose of the same is to keep the development section clean and also provide a place for those who feel they wont get a reply if they post in the general section
pls understand it also becomes a repository for all the noobs who have all questions they can go to the same thread and look for their answers
i request all the helpful guys here to support me on this and ask members to post their questions in the above link and to keep an eye on the above thread and answer the questions asked
in future im gona just move the questions asked here to general without any waring just move them to general or close the thread
i hope u understand that my idea is to keep the development thread clean and only related to development
i have done the same in the Jade, gene & tattoo forums and with the help of the members questions are only being asked in the above stiky thus keeping the development thread clean
kindly support me on the same

[Q] Best Android ROM and how to install it

Hello guys,
I'm from the Xperia Arc forums and know how to flash Android phones, but one of my friends has a HTC XDA Diamond and WinMobile 6.1 on it and wants Android on it.
After he saw how awesome Android is on my Xperia X10 and now on my Xperia Arc...
So he wants to know which Android ROM is the best one and how to install it?
The ROM should be:
- as fast as possible
- as stable as possible
- most up to date regarding the Android version
- most/all stuff should be working
He wants me to install it and choose the ROM as he thinks I'm good at that stuff (well, I'm good on Android...).
So please tell me which ROM is the one to use and how to put it on his device.
I have no experience with WinMobile so please don't be rude to me.
Thanks
Regards,
Flo
You may want to look into the sub-forum for ROM development.
2 examples of threads related:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1210040
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301189
Good luck!
P.S. Obviously you need to do the complete unlocking procedure as well (HardSPL etc.) - see for that the stickies on the top of the sub-forum
Thanks.
I, well we, gonna look into it

[Q] KitKat on Cooper?

Hi, i'm a new member of the forums but i have been cheking the youtube channel and also used the forum to root my device and also to install some custom roms in it.
I'm currently using CM 10.1.6 modded and it works perfectly and very smooth
so first of all thx to those guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2212438
second, i would like to know if we, the cooper users are we going to have 4.4 on our devices anytime soon? i dont know if that is even possible; maybe the fact that we are already able to run 4.2.2 is big step. However; kitkat will be us a performance increase? is it gonna use less ram for exaple (the s5830 really lacks on that point)
thx
(I'm pretty suprised about all the anti spam security measures that this forum has, i have never seen something similar)

Kikat should run on ace better than JB. Also maclaw is working for the same on our device so don't get surprised to see a new build soon

Maclaw posted on his fb wall that there would a release soon. He later told that he was working on cm11
AFAIK, maclaw is planning to release a new kernel. Would be nice to see a CM11, though I am a little reserved regarding it

Yesterday he confirmed that he is working on CM11 for Ace. We should just give MAclaw some time. I know, I hate him too
i have just seen his troll video about kitkat, seems close hehe
Best to discuss kitkat here. Keep it in one thread

Thread moved to Q&A where it should have been posted originally. Please post in the correct sections; only things that are "created" belong in development. Next thread like this in development will receive more than a warning. Thanks.

First off, this is the development thread, opinion threads and such should go into the General section.
Secondly, creating Best threads is not advised on xda since it's unfair to the devs working on their respective ROMs and everyone has a different view for "best".
Lastly, most ROMs are similar since we are limited to Stock ROMs for now. Dynamic Kat is what I'm using mostly because it comes with an optional GPE theme which gives you a break from looking at Stock firmware and has all the goodies you will find in other ROMs.

Any dev started already on Marshmallow ???

HI ,
any dev already started with the Marshmallow aosp code to port it to our glory device ?
Thanks in advance.
Wrong forum section!
bro not even the nexus mobiles have gotten the upgrade so iu think its petty early for developing marshmellow, so i think you should be asking this question in november or december when there would be enough development

Almost all recent nexus devices received 6.0 already, there are roms already too for them, and yes, some devs for titan have started working on 6.0 too, but please don't ask for ETAs or anything, roms will arrive when they have to, also as the other user said: wrong forum section!
wait a minute... this is about the Moto G 2014, right? which will get official 6.0 anyway, correct? How can smbd. honestly expect there to be real progress with a 6.0 ROM one week after the 6.0 release for Nexus (which btw. hasn't even reached any of my Nexus devices yet) and before there's even been a 6.0 GPL kernel release for the Moto G from Motorola? Give us a break PLZ
I was also wondering about this thing, thanks for asking
Very simply put. Yes, development has started. However what is missing is the source code from caf or simpler the source code for the hardware configurations for android m. This then, has to be set up to work with the android "software" for android m you get from google. And this takes some time.
The caf source code should be getting released in the next weeks. If you see android m for non nexus devices it is basically android m running on top of the hardware configs for android l.
