Omni Rom - Nexus 4 General

You guys seen this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2481571
Hey there,
xplodwild here, I did the announcement session at BABBQ, it was awesome. Thanks for everyone who were there.
So yeah, we didn't prepare a lot of YouTube demo videos yet, but all the information about the philosophy of Omni are available on Omni website: http://omnirom.org/why-omni/.
We are a ROM different than others: we are focused on performance, cohesion, stability, innovation, code quality, community and open source. And the community more than anything else. You are using the ROM, you should be choosing what you want to have.
When we're taking a patch from another ROM, we're trying as much as possible to enhance it before merging it. When we're getting new features, we give you a way to give early feedback, early access to prototypes, early access to mockups, etc, so that we know immediately early on if we're doing it right.
All the contributions will be GPL licensed (at least we'll be pushing for it). People will be able to vote up and down on patches,
Some of the key features of Omni:
Flippable Quick Settings
Roadrunner mode
Multi-window(!)
Daydream enhancements
Integrated Performance Control
Multi-workspace
Color-changeable, 3D depth Phase Beam
And a bunch more
We're also pushing non-Android stuff, such as OmniInstaller (an all-in-one, multi-platform, open source, installer that anyone can plug in), as well as a Qt library to give Qt Android apps a native Android look, and have gorgeous and super-fast Android apps. We're helping users, and helping developers.
Everything is free, free as in money, and free as in liberty. And transparent.
Edit #1: Regarding device support, we currently support all the Nexus devices, as well as the Oppo Find 5, Xperia Z, Xperia Tablet Z. We have preliminary support for the i9300 as well as the Oppo R819.
Edit #2: We'll have a bunch of developer resouces up soon, giving a head start to newcomers in the Android development world.
I probably didn't cover much things but I'll add more things as they come to my mind. We're having beers here and I'm probably not fully able to do a comprehensive post right now.

B) at dial pad when you try to dial the vibration starts randomly and stops after 2 secs
Thats all until now but everything else are flowless.

[GUIDE] 'Fastest' Nexus 7 ROM (Performance Benchmarks)

In the wake of the arguments over lag in the Paranoid Android thread, I have decided to run benchmarks to see which ROM is (theoretically) the fastest.
Special thanks to bcvictory (author of the best Nexus 7 kernel thread) for his assistance in testing ROMs.
Testing methodology:
All tests were performed using the stock kernel with performance governor to avoid bias. Each ROM was clean flashed without a Google apps package.
Tests were performed using Android's micro_bench and AnTuTu benchmark. Exact commands for micro_bench are listed in the spreadsheet of results.
Note: Not all ROMs are publicly available. From time to time the spreadsheet may include custom builds that I have done.
Results listed below will only include ROMs that are available to download.
And now, on to the results!
DISCLAIMER:
These results are not guaranteed to be accurate. This only takes into account benchmark results. Each ROM may perform differently depending on the circumstances.
Best Overall
[ROM] CyanogenMod 10.1 [OFFICIAL]
Runner Up
[ROM] rasbeanjelly [Android 4.2.2_r1.2 JDQ39E] [PRODUCT_DEVICE := grouper]
You can see all the results, including raw benchmarks, in the spreadsheet.
Don't see your favorite ROM? Ask and it might just be included
List of currently tested ROMs:
Stock AOSP
AOSPA 3.56 Official
Liquidsmooth
Sabermod
CM 10.1
Vanilla Rootbox
AOSPAL 3.56
Rasbeanjelly
Buttered AOKP
AOSPA 3.56 EvanA (Not publicly available (yet!))
PACMAN Nightly
PACMAN Linaro

I would encourage you to take a single ROM (any of them - say stock), and repeat the benchmark 13 times... and record the values into a third sheet as if you were testing different ROMs.
I think you will find that the range of values you see in the individual benchmark scores are almost as large as the ranges observed from ROM to ROM.
That is - your rankings are little more than noise. Sorry.
Or, if you prefer, just repeat the tests in a second round. Most, if not all of your rankings will change.

Thank you really useful information.
And you may want to try the Purity ROM by DarioF from original developer forum, when combined with m-kernel it gave me really high benchmark score.
As well as it still have full feature and still have an original 4.2 feeling it doesn't remove any feature to have a better performance like some others. And also in term of real-feel it fastest ROM I've ever tried.

Ok, installed
One bug off the bat (nothing huge) is that my BT headset keeps making a snapping noise when ever there is no audio being streamed (This is a Motorola S11 Flex HD using the Apt-X codec). That codec may be the issue, but thought I would share.
Very intuitive app, BTW. Very nice so far.
EDIT: Further testing: this sound is whenever audio starts/stops. Not a big deal for music, but if you keep on system sounds it can be annoying. For now I have disabled screen touch sounds and it has stopped being so frequent since it tries to send all of those touches to the headset and the phone speaker.
Anyone know why email isn't on this ROM? The corporate one?

I feel like an idiot but I literally couldn't get a single one of those to work ._.
All of them include decompiling the framework/policy which I did but then in the smali files, NPP couldn't find ANYTHING that any of them said. I don't know why :<
It might be a 4.3 thing but I doubt it
Wait actually nvm, i pulled it from my phone and it's working. Gonna try now
*swag*
This ROM is exactly what I want. JWR66Y with mods

Was thinking of HALO but I'm pretty sure that'd take some time. The problem is, I'm only 14, and my mom is kinda weird and thinks if I have my computer during the week, I'll get bad grades, so I can only work on it on the weekends :<

No problem, man. I'm a senior in high school and my mom still treats me like that
By the way, did you incorporate the mods that @enricocid provided? Will they be in the next build?

on G+ i saw every sunday update...
Tried to find the post....doesnt seem to get it again..
Looking pretty cool, quite refreshing!
A few places with White (or very light gray) text on white background (for example SU app, and Accounts).
Also it must be based on a slightly older version of PA cause I think Hover now blacklists more stuff by default
As a minus, I'd say that I do not like so much how the default launcher used by the rom has some limitations that go away by buying the pro version, but whatever, really not a big deal, cause same thing happens with some roms using Nova for example.
Thanks for the port!
By the way, look like there are some special Gapps for this rom?
here is the link :

found it in that thread :

haven't tried them, since I reverted to my usual rom for work, but will give it a go and report if no one did before me
Played for whole day with ur rom..
One thing i wanna say is that thx for ur hard work.ur rom is smooth and feel pleasant.. And the inspire hybrid color engine(i think this is right name )is awesome.love ur rom ..
Now about battery life i got 3hrs and 4 min of scrn on time with heavy usage in total 6 hrs from 100 to 9%.
Not bad but can be better than this.
2. In color engine there is some mismatch of colors like when we open skype the status bar turns white and few other apps does same.
3- is there any chance of getting nightlies?

I just read on Google+ that he plans on releasing a new build every Sunday unless he needs more time to properly test it then it might take a little longer

Any change log?
Hey, quick question, is it possible to disable the lockscreen blur? (looked for the option in Security, but could not find it)
Thanks
