[Q] Sim Unlock Code Not Accepted - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have HTC one on Three UK network. I took Sim network unlock code from 3 different paid servers, All have given same code but code does not work. It says Sim Password incorrect. Spoken to supplier and he said it is some bug in new android system. Can anyone explain me how to fix this. I appreciate that.
I already 3 tried another source and checked imei etc.

Are you on a custom CID ? On a custom ROM? If yes, change them back to the original and it'll work.

This is purely anecdotal but the phone I had before this was the s2 LTE model on AT&T, when they gave me the code it kept saying it was unsuccessful until I ran out of attempts. However when I actually put in a t-mobile sim card it worked fine and it was fully unlocked. Maybe try that?

You do know that to unlock the phone you need a SIM card from a different company inside the phone so that it asks for Network Unlock Code... SIM Lock is not the same...

Obviously phone is asking for sim network unlock code when we put non accepted sim card. So phone is not unlocked. We do quite a lot unlocking and few phones get this error, we have to refund customer but I am seeking solution for it. It is only in Android phones (HTC and Samsung).. Samsung's we usually unlock using unlocking boxes but HTC One is not supported other than code. (Setool support older HBOOT).

That's likely a SIM unlock code, which will allow the phone to work with a carrier other than the one that sold it. There's also a bootloader unlock code that we're supposed to be able to get direct from HTC at htcdev.com that will allow us to flash custom software to the phone, but right now nobody seems to have succeeded in getting that.
As bjg222 said. That is sim unlock to use it on another GSM carrier.

Yeah, most reports so far say that the AT&T version gives an error when going through the process on htcdev.com. (Haven't tried it personally, my phone won't be here till tomorrow)

I did go through the HTCDev.com site and followed the directions to submit for a Bootloader Unlock Code. It does error out say CID Not Allowed. This doesnt surprise me give the phone launched on Sunday.
I'm actually looking for a SIM unlock so I can use the Raider with a non Bell SIM. Tried Cellunlocker.net and despite the site saying they have it (and paying for it) I was emailed a couple of days later with a refund saying they don't have it yet.
Anyone know of a site that has the unlock code?

AT&T HTC One on Vodaphone in NZ

I'm from the US and am in New Zealand for a month. I own an HTC One which I purchased from AT&T and have been using on their network in the States. I've unlocked the phone, and also have S-Off. I've purchased a prepaid SIM card from Vodaphone in New Zealand. When I insert the SIM card, the phone asks me for the 8 digit SIM unlock code, so I entered the 8 digit PUK code provided by Vodaphone with the SIM. The phone tells me this code is invalid. I'm not quite sure why this isn't working - is it possible I need to load a different firmware to use the phone in New Zealand?
Kernel is 3.4.10-g31f7883
Firmware looks like 3.62.401.1
I'm currently using ViperOne ROM.
Certainly appreciate any input on this issue.
Thanks,
Josh
Well, I did not realize that bootloader unlock and SIM unlock are two different things. That's a bit confusing. Wish I had figured that out prior to flying here.

If I remember correctly (this is all from memory), for the unlock code to work, you need
1) correct (original) CID and MID
2) stock ROM (some were able to do it on custom ROMs, but not sure if all work or only certain ones)
3) stock firmware for above ROM
4) stock recovery
5) LOCKED or RELOCKED bootloader
6) S-Off won't matter, and that will be your ticket to unlock again
you can search the forum here for SIM UNLOCK, there are quite a few similar cases, which got solved by a combination of points 1 through 5.
If anyone stumbles onto this thread in the future...
Turns out I needed a code from AT&T, as I needed to carrier unlock the phone before being able to use the Vodaphone SIM. I tried contacting AT&T to get the code, but they won't give it to you unless you are out of contract.
I was able to get an unlock code using option 5 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242473
I loaded a stock ROM, but left the bootloader and my custom recovery on there, and the unlock code worked just fine.

[Q] Help! After using Cyanogenmod Installer it's asking for SIM Network unlock code

In an attempt to use my locked AT&T HTC One phone on my T-mobile service I used the Cyanogenmod Installer to root my HTC one and hope to use it on the T-mobile network; I also unlocked the bootloader via HTC website. The newest Cyanogenmod is installed (11-20140417-NIGHTLY-m7) and wifi is working, etc. Unfortunately, no phone calls since it keeps asking for SIM Network unlock code (I bought an unlock code...not working). Any suggestions? What should I do? I did some research and I read something about using an RUU...is this a good solution? Thank you all!
Status of phone on bootloader screen is:
S-ON "TAMPERED"

No, bootloader unlock and sim unlock are different things. You'll need to be on the stock rom to input your sim unlock code.

And that's what worked. Thanks!
Hello,
I (still) have the same problem here. I have a DHD that was locked and branded. I followed HTCDev's procedure to unlock the bootloader and installed a Cyanogenmod ROM (unofficial 10.1) two weeks ago that works great. I've been trying to get my phone unlocked for days with no luck ever since.
I've tried using the HTC unlock tool v. 0.9.5/4 and rooting the phone too. Nothing. Drivers are working fine; program executes as expected, but I still have a locked phone after it finishes. I got an unlock code that I enter after booting and I get a "successful network unlock" message, but the radio seems to remain off. I cannot place calls. Attempting to choose a network operator manually from the settings menu fails; I get a "mobile network unavailable" message when doing so (service providers list does not even appear). I've read threads saying that the only way to get around this is by reverting the phone to its original ROM and HBoot, but I've read elsewhere that workarounds on branded phones shipped with Gingerbread or Froyo (like mine used to run) fail and/or screw up the phone, so I have not tried that. Any ideas or pointers?
Thanks!

[Q] Unlocked xperia Z1 network locked because of flashing Branded Firmware

i have a Sony Xperia Z1. the model number is C6906. i bought it directly from Sony and its Unlocked . it was working on every sim card. But i flashed the C6906 firmware of the other branded network provider. now it's network locked with that network provider. it only works with the sim card of that network. when i put any other sim card, the dialog box appears and it tells to insert network unlock code. when i contact that network, they told me to get their sim card and use it for 90 days. then they will provide me the unlock code. why should i have to use their sim card for 90 days to get the unlock code, because my phone is already factory unlocked from sony. i went to 3rd party websites which provide network unlock codes. but they didn't find the unlock code for my phone, because that phone is not present in the database of that network provider. that means i can only get the unlock code from that network code by using their sim card for 90 days. but that network is not working in my area. please suggest how can i make it unlock again as it was before ? i will be very thankful
flashing FTF files will not affect the SIM lock status of a phone.
It will neither lock an unlocked one nor will it unlock a locked one.

i flashed the firmware of Rogers for my unlocked xperia z1 C6906, which was Branded Firmware. my phone was working fine with all sim cards. but few days ago i put the sim card of rogers, the phone automatically restart and also install some rogers network apps in phone menu. after that when i put other sim card, the network unlock code dialogue box appears. it means that phone got locked with rogers now. the rogers technicians said me if you flashed rogers branded firmware, then if you ever put rogers sim card in it, then device will locked to rogers even if its unlocked from sony.
well, not sure how that works as its the first time I ever heard that happening. Not that I don't trust operators but I often find they do not know what they are talking about when it comes to the kind of things we do here at XDA
But, if what you say is true, flashing another FTF will NOT help.

that is not really what we do here. there are loads of websites for that, and rogers say they will give you an unlock code in 90 days anyway.

Removing Simlock from HTC Mini 2 after update to CM 12.1

Hello all,
I have a UK HTC Mini 2 locked on EE, I would like to remove the simlock and as such I have purchased a code to do so from ebay. However, the code does not work, I have verified with the seller and he says it is correct so I assume it has something to do with me installing CM 12.1 (NostomoPop).
My phone is S-On, Bootloader unlocked, could somebody advise me how I could unlock the phone please??
Thanks :good:

The unlock works only on SENSE ROMs, so you can't unlock it on CM, AOSP or GPE ROMs. Even after you have unlocked you won't have network in non-sense ROMs.

I'm sorry to come to this thread so late but I've only just seen it. I hope you have already solved your problem but just in case here is my experience.
I have a One Mini 2 which was bought from eBay locked to Vodaphone. I bought a SIM unlock code online and had the same problem, i.e. the code did not work.
Stupidly I had cut down my mini SIM card to a micro card using a template I found online and this turned out to be the problem. I ordered a new SIM card from Giffgaff (their cards now come as a 3-format card which you cna just pop out to the correct size) and, after doing a SIM swap on-line to the new card number, put the new card in and entered the number as supplied. It worked perfectly.
I had already unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP while waiting for the new card to arrive.
I have installed several different roms, CM12, Carbon, AOSP, Nostromopop (by far the best!), reverted back to stock, gained S-OFF with Sunshine, reloaded full stock from RUU, reinstalled TWRP, reinstalled latest Nostromopop, SuperSU, and on and on and on. I've never lost mobile network since I put in the new SIM card and entered the number I was given originally to unlock it.
So just in case you are still having problems, that was my solution: get a new SIM card!
Good luck
Hi ajlajluk,
I am in the same position as you were - HTC one mini 2 simlocked to vodafone, tried online unlock codes with no luck. I have a giffgaff simcard and cannot get it working, can you elaborate more on exactly what you did to get the unlock code working?
"after doing a SIM swap on-line to the new card number, put the new card in and entered the number as supplied. It worked perfectly"
How do you mean sim swap? tranfered numbers?
Im not having much luck when attempting to flash a stock rom and Sunshine doesnt like the CM11/CM12 roms when I tried to S-OFF (to change CID).
Any advice massively appreciated
