Anyone used this Nillkin Dolextech case? (Looks like a incipio feather) - G2 Accessories

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dolextech-Qulity-Shield-original-Nillkin/dp/B00FF0T0PG/ref=cm_rdp_product
I'm trying to work out if it has a lay on the table design. So the screen doesn't get damaged when placed face down

Nillkin case
I bought it a few weeks ago from ebay. Screen doesn't touch the table when faced down, the edges are a slightly high. It also came with a screen protector.

you must have another case cos the one i linked to above i received today and it doesnt have a lip as such, maybe a tiny tiny one but not enough to stop the screen from touching the surface, apart from that its a good case,

<rant>HD2 t-mobile brand screen protector.

Just for info, there's two in the box. it covers ONLY the screen that has the LCD. DOesn't cover whole face.
Never had issues sticking on these static type protectors but this one gave me hell. ruined both. the protector is slightly tacky. And will attact dust(like any like this) so make sure you're in a clean room. But both of my protectors wouldn't stick on the edges of the protector. and every time I tried to peel it up and putting it back down, it still didn't hold. Then dust got under it. augh. Ruined both. I wonder if they would take them back since both wouldn't stick on teh edges? Aww... they will probably say I'm returning it because I got dust under it.
i know how you feel! i bought them when i got my hd2 and i got the top two-thirds of the protector on perfect but then the bottom third somehow got dust underneath, it really not that bad when the screen is on but its still annoying. cant wait to get my invisibleshield on it tho!
order this, the maximum protection from zagg....
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I used invisishield on my ipod. Great stuff, but hard to get on perfect. 3 parts for a curved back and front only covers the LCD part? The front part sounds so unlike them. They normally have it going round buttons and everything.
But it's like putting tint on. You need to have a liquid to make slide just right.
i used invisible shield on my iphone, and it was fully protected. It did add grip to the device which i liked. Anyways, the maximum protection shield covered more than the normal full-body shield. It'll cover not only the LCD screen but all spaces around the hardware buttons and well as the speaker.

I also got these same screen protectors and was dissapointed when it did not cover the entire screen.
Trick to putting on screen protectors.
1.) Make sure the screen is completely clean of all smudges etc.
2.) Use a can of air duster to remove any small dust particles that might be stuck on the phone. If you don't have that then just take a piece of tape and remove any dust particles or dirt from the screen. This is the most important part!
3.) Line up the screen protector on the screen where you want to place it.
4.) Peel back the backing of the screen protector as you lay the screen on the device. Start from the top of the device and work your way down. If need be take out a credit card or another hard piece of plastic of some sort to push out any air bubbles that may occur as you lay down the screen protector.'
5.) Enjoy a job well done.
It's interesting to note that all the previous posts are (I assume) from US members.
You get a screen protector with the phone and we here in the UK don't.
I have heard mention that when some EU units have been returned for screen problems they have been repaired with what has appeared to be a plastic version of the screen.
My phone is now coming on three months old, never had a protector, never used a case and the screen is immaculate.
Can anyone say if theirs "feels" like plastic?

My TMOUS HDC HD2 is definitely glass.
I didn't bother to use a screen protector (didn't even know there was one supplied)...it isn't necessary on a glass screen.
Its very hard to scratch glass...you would need a very sharp object, made out of a very hard material (harder than glass), applied with a lot of pressure. I've had my iPhone for 3 years, and the glass is flawless on it. The aluminum housing is scratched, dented, and dinged up, and the LCD panel has a little bit of bruising on the top left corner BEHIND the glass...but the glass itself is immaculate.
Apple actually pulled the screen protectors off the shelves from the Apple store because they felt they were unnecessary..and frankly anyone who pays for one on the HD2 or iPhone wasted their money.
You'll actually see more imperfections on the screen by applying a screen protector...they have a tendency to attract dust, bubble up, and flat out get dirty. The only maintenance you need to do on a glass screen is polish out smudges and finger prints.
The biggest peril to glass touch screens is cracks from falls....and if your HD2 suffers a big enough impact, a screen protector or 'invisible shield' won't do squat to keep it from cracking
glass or plastic..either way.. i was soooooooooooo confident i wouldnt scratch mine, until about a minute ago when i was in the process of wiping the glass(plastic) screen before putting on a screen protector, i noticed a little scratch...great. Should've put on a protector sooner...
From now on, I willl be putting on a screen protector unless the screen are made out of crystal sapphire or something..

We actually do not get an included screen protector. Only the black gel case, which imo is quite crappy... loose and flimsy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6117793#post6117793 Check out oy instillation of the Invisible shield if you are considering buying one. I bought the Maximum Protection and it covers almost everything besides for around the buttons on the bottom, volume rocker, camera, Micro USB/ 3.5 Headphone jack, and the finger nail grove on battery cover. I also would like to note that my TMOUS HD2 did not include any screen protectors in the box.
Sorry imo I have to disagree with you about the included gel being loose mine fits quite snugly and until my zagg comes in I prefer to keep it in the gel...not as slick & keeps the screen(when face down) off the flat surface.
A tipp for all you guys getting dust under the screen:
I always apply a new screen protector in my bathroom after showering - the steam in the air (the more steam, the better) binds most of the dust particles and makes it A LOT easier to get a perfect result!

I agree, I used to do this back in the day before Zagg came around. It works great.
I have read with other products people use a drop or water/soap water before applying a screen protector. Has anyone used this method on this device? i am concerned that the water will somehow ruin the device. I know it's only a drop or 2 but wanted to get some feedback first before i tried it.

My VZW G2 Screen Protector and Cases Review

I'm going to post one at a time...so the pictures don't get confused with others. I hope this helps
.....1.....The SNP Tempered Glass Protector (Price $32.00)
This one took a long time to receive it since it was coming from Korea with really slow cheap shipment, but the product had no damage so it was all good.
I thought I did good installation on the Tempered glass protector, but all around the edges I had gap (You can see it from the pictures). I contacted the seller and they told me that this screen protector is not for Verizon model, because of the 1mm curved edges. I guess the Korean version of the G2 don't have curved edges and I don't know about Atnt or Tmobile models.
So they gave me a full refund, since they didn't mention that it is not for Verizon models.
But if you have the Korean Version of the phone I really recommend it.
The Tempered glass protector covers close to edge to edge. The responsiveness and the clarity is excellent. The feel of this screen protector is really good. My fingers were sliding across really easy. Edges are smooth rounded so it feels smooth all around the edges.
Since the protector is close to edge to edge you can't use cases like the Diztronic cases or SGP Slim armor, etc. since it interfere with the screen protector that it will lift up the screen protector.
So you have to use the ones like Poetic Palette or Incipio Feather cases or etc.
Even though it had gaps all around the edges I have use this screen protector for 2 weeks and I had no issue with clarity or sensitivity. Overall performance of this tempered glass protector is really fantastic. If this had fit my phone then this one was a keeper...but It was just sad that it didn't fit my G2.
.....2..... Scosche 2.1A High Amp Dual USB Car Charger (Price $6.00)
If you are looking for fast dual USB car charger this one works out great. Like other dual USB car chargers have one 2.1A and one 1.0A Charging ports but Scosche car charging ports are both 2.1A charging ports. In other words...Scosche car chargers will charge 2 devices about the same speed as the OEM wall charger that you got when you bought your G2. It charges really fast.
Overall performance is really excellent. I have used this car charger for over 2 weeks now and have no problem so far. This just does exactly what it is suppose to do. It charges the phone as fast as the rapid wall charger, so this is a keeper for me. In my opinion this car charger is cheap compare other car chargers that charges slower than this.
.....3.....The Hohoo 9H Screen Protector (Price $12.50)
First this screen protector is NOT TEMPERED GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR. This screen protector is made out of PMMA (Poly Methyl Methacrylate), it's basically acrylic. Im saying this because some of the sellers are posting this as a tempered glass protector when it is clearly not. There is a reason why the price point is low.
This one was a defected product which the top part of the screen protector adhesive part was not good that it made air gaps and if I leave it on for a couple of minutes it lifts up by itself, so I contacted the seller and the seller told me that he is sending a new one for me.
The installation wasn't that hard. The screen response was good and the screen clarity was really good. It feel like I was touching a tempered glass screen protector. My fingers glide really smooth. The screen protector size is basically little bit bigger than the screen, but it doesn't cover up the whole front side. In my opinion this is a really good size for the screen protector. Since I can put on Diztronic TPU cases without interfering with the screen protector (just has a tiny gap between the screen protector and the case edges).
Even though this was a defected product everything really work great except for the adhesive part. Going to wait for new one for my final opinion on this screen protector.
...4....The Hohoo 9H Screen Protector (Replacement)
I have received the replacement screen protector and the first thing that I have notice was that the boxing image was different from the first one that they have sent me. The next thing that was different was when I was installing it was the sensor area cut out. It doesn't make a huge difference but just fyi.
The second screen protector that I received had really good adhesives so I didn't get any air gaps. I had no issue with any sensitivity. The screen protector feels really smooth and my fingers slides through easily. The best part about this protector is that the size. I really think this is the best screen protector size for VZW G2.
I really like this screen protector but one problem for me with the screen protector was when I go outside in a really cold weather (near about 0°C) the protector just lifts up by itself for some reason. But if I put it back in a room temperature for a bit it start sticking back to the screen...I have tested 5 times doing this and also sent an email to the seller and the seller just gave me a refund. But in room temperature it doesn't have any problem. The adhesive is actually really good that even though I reattached it more than 5 times it didn't made any gaps or lifting in room temperature. This might be the material of the screen protector problem or I might have got a bad batch but in my experience it happen like that.
Overall performance is excellent. If I didn't had any issue with the lifting then this screen protector was a keeper for me. In my opinion the feel and strength and display is in the same level as the tempered glass protector. If you want tempered glass protector like features without paying a lot. This screen protector might fit for you.
I still have this screen protector on since I don't have any issue in room temperature. But I just have order a new tempered glass protector made from Glassview. It should be coming soon so until then I'm going to keep using this screen protector.
.....5..... Diztronic Cases (Price $10.00)
First impression with these cases were that it's really slim case. Diztronic cases are made out of TPU material. I have purchase two of Diztronic cases, matted black and clear type. Both types of cases have really good grip. The matted black case had so much better resistance against finger prints than the clear case. The matted black case had little bit more slippery feeling than the clear case, but the Matted black looks better than the clear one in my opinion. One final difference between these two types of cases is that the matted black case is $1 more expensive than the clear case.
All the cut out holes were perfectly aligned. On the top it has a lip that even though you put it face down it will protect from the screen touching the surface. This case purpose is basically to protect against everyday use scratches. If you drop the phone with this case on I really don't think this case will protect it from saving your phone.
Overall, if you want a slim case that doesn't any much bulk and protects every corner of your phone this is perfect. But for some reason if you think you will drop the phone get more bulkier case like Otterbox or Incipio Dualpro or etc.
.....6.....Incipio Feather Shine Case (Price $29.99)
I have used this case for over 2 weeks now and it is just perfect for me. Especially the back aluminum finish looks really nice and I don't have to worry about finger prints on the back of my phone anymore. The case fits really tight so there is no worry that the phone is just going to fall off from the case. This case is a really low profile case that it only covers the back and the sides and the four corners of the phone, but not covering the bottom and the top of the phone. This case have slightly lower profile than the Diztronic cases. It has a really small lip on the side of the phone. The lip of the case was about the same size as my screen protector that if I put it face down the screen protector is touching the bottom too. Since my screen protector's thickness is around 0.33mm so I'm assuming that the lip size is around 0.33mm. I'm not too worry about putting my phone face down since the screen protector I have so far stood up pretty good, but if you don't have screen protector just be careful if you are putting it face down.
The back aluminum finish looks nice but it makes the phone a bit slippery. I got some scratches on the aluminum finished back already, I think these scratches came from the keys that was in my pocket. I mean the phone case purpose is to prevent from scratching the actual phone so it is doing its job but it got scratched way too easily than what I was expecting from this case. I think my Hohoo screen protector is so much better against scratches than the aluminum finished case since my screen protector haven't got any scratches so far.
A lot of people complain about this case because of the signal lost, but to me so far I have not lost any signals or the case cause a weak signal. I'm getting the same signal bar with or without the case. I think some people complaining about the signal lost with this case on have got a bad batch of the case.
Overall, I think if you want a really low profile case with really nice look on the back then this case might be good for you. This is not a drop proof case. It's the same thing that I said about Diztronic cases, this is not the case that you want if you think you are going to drop your phone. This case is basically to prevent from everyday scratches.
Did you ever receive that screen protector from Glassview?
Do the screen protectors need to specifically say for verizon? Or are they compatible with any model? I want to buy some screen protectors but they dont specify what model just lg g2

This is definitely a great case for those who are looking for something to make the phone a little easier to hold and protect the back from scratches. The outer lip lets me put my phone face down whereas before I would be afraid of scratching the screen.

....what are you talking about...
I use the VZW Screen Protectors they had because I got 20% off the phone (when you buy 2 accessories) and they were like $7 for 3. The VZW guy didn't put it on very well but I used the second one and a hinge method to get it perfectly aligned and centered.
I use a Incipio Feather Rubber Matte Case and it doesn't affect the Screen Protector. The Diztronics are cool but I don't like the big lips around the edges that will screw with the protector sometimes. No problems with the Incipio.
Screen protectors are compatible for all models of G2. Only the Verizon Cases are different because I guess it is a 1mm thicker due to addition of Qi Charging.

.....7.....GlassView Tempered Glass Protector (Price $32.99)
I have used this Tempered Glass Protector for over 2 weeks now and I think this is the one that I'm going to keep.
First, the application process was really easy for me. I installed it in like 30s and was done with perfect alignment. The size and the cutout of this screen protector is just perfect. It avoid all the lifting all around the screen and it is really case friendly that it fits the Diztronic cases. Im not too sure about the bulkier cases like the otterbox or bulkier incipio cases since these cases use up a lot of bezel space. The Thickness is only 0.23mm but The quality of the screen protector is really good. It has 9H hardness that suppose to prevent from everyday scratches and more and it is also shatterproof. The sensitivity and feel of this screen protector is just fantastic. I had no issue with responsiveness and my fingers were gliding through really smoothly. It was really easy to wipes off the fingerprints from the screen protector. Between SNP and Hohoo Screen protector feel of the smoothness wise GlassView is a clear winner for me.
I think this tempered glass is better than the MIME Tempered Glass. Since MIME Tempered Glass is cut short on the sides that doesn't really completely cover the screen but GlassView is covers the whole screen.
Overall, I think this is the best Tempered Glass screen protector that you can find on the market right now (at least for me). I thought about buying iloome flex but it looked too thin and I really don't see that much difference between just regular screen protector and iloome flex. I wanted more sturdy screen protector and I think I found my winner. I think I'm going to stick with GlassView tempered glass protector for a quite a bit before I find something that is better.

Spigen Thin Fit for Note 5

Hi All,
Received my Note 5 today along with the Spigen Thin Fit case. It's $14.99 on their website but $10.99 on their eBay store and you get a free 3-pack of Crystal screen protectors.
I used this case with the iPhone 6+ and wanted to point out a few similarities and few differences. Obviously this kind of case is designed to provide minimal protection. If anything, it's more to just protect the back from scratches. It's a soft-feel matte finish that's cool to the touch and comfortable to hold. Unlike the iPhone version of this case (that protected the sides and left the top / bottom completely exposed) this has the top and bottom covered with cutouts for ports, pen, etc.
The case is thick enough that it protects the camera bulge from touching a surface and if you lay it face down, there's just barely enough clearance so the screen doesn't touch. If you were to get a glass screen protector, me thinks it would touch the screen. But I'm not a fan of laying my phone face down. There are some curiously placed cutouts at the four corners of the phone. I'm assuming it's so the case can flex a little and let the phone slip inside. I will point out that it makes the S-Pen pretty difficult to get out. There's enough room to click so it pops out, but still difficult unless you have long fingernails. Worth mentioning.
If anyone wants pictures, let me know. Don't work for Spigen just like their products and thought I'd share.
thanks. good info about the sPen. that would bother me.
Got mine too, this case is a fingerprint/smudge/oil magnet. However the soft touch feels nice and grippy.

Silicone case that doesn't lift tempered glass screen protector

Hi All,
My preferred phone protection is to have a tempered glass screen protector and silicone case. Saved my old phone from bad damage a couple times while bouncing on the street.
Now... the challenge I have with the P9000 is that the silicone case that came with the phone doesn't go 'over' the edges of the tempered glass protector and pushes it off.
rather annoying!
Ordered some other silicone cases on Aliexpress but the same problem.
Anybody found a nice case that does the trick? Tried 'heat stretching' the case a bit for a better fit but no luck so far.
thanks!

Hi.
My problem was that one corner of the glass doesn't stick to the LCD. After I applied the silikoncase it fits.
I have the case that come with the phone.
I stretched it a little bit over the corners of the phones without heat.

Had the same issue what you need to do is force phone by slotting it into case then pull the lip over the screen protector. Do this to all corners and you'll have no issues.

Congrats on having it fixed without any drastic measures! I went the 'cutting route' for now since I had to replace the screen protector and didn't want to risk another one.
But I've got another set of silicone cases coming from aliexpress to check if they are a bit better!
I've got 2 P9000's (one for me one for my girlfriend) so actually I already wrecked 2 screen protectors.
Same problem here. Original case and aliexpress case. No luck.
i bought the official flip case and tempered glass.
tried the case first which fit but found the buttons a bit hard to press.
if you fold the case front behind the phone the camera is blocked also.
could view the on screen clock and notifications through the case screen window.
once applied the tempered glass the phone wouldn't recognize the flip case, so when i closed it over the screen remained on and the case window became useless.
this company do nothing right do they.
Had to struggle the same problem, but now i could fix it.
Just make sure the glass is positioned in centre on the screen. When putting on the case, make sure the case slips properly over the first 3 corners. For the last one, you can use any tool (i a used knife, but be careful ) to overlap the edge of the silicon case with the tempered glass.
No matter what I did, it wouldn't do it without lifting the glass
Sent from my P9000 using Tapatalk
I have the same issue (sometimes) with matte film protectors and the standard case.
Always on the top right corner for me - where I've got fractionally less unprotected screen , so maybe very precise alignment of the screen protector would help you?
Pulling the case over the edge of the screen with my fingernails was enough for me
Cut the flip in the flip-case.

Cut the flip in the flip-case. Just kepping the hard back. This way you can use the glass and have back protection. I did this and works fine.
I use this glass protector - http://www.ebay.com/itm/282044598237?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
there is a space between the silicon case and the glass so they don't touch each other

The hard back in the flip case is useless. Too fragile, corners and button covers break easily, my P9000 fell just once not too hard and the screen left upper corner broke. Silicone cover is better protection
u can use scotch tape on the bottom corners of the glass to stop it from lifting, funny idea but works, if u want to save a new case cost.

amFilm Dot Matrix 3D Curved Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Tempered Glass Screen Protector

So I picked up the amFilm glass screen protector the other day from Amazon. Out of all the glass protectors I could find on Amazon, this had the least amount of bad reviews. Also its sold by TechMatte which I had heard of before.
Anyways, it went on pretty easily. No loss of sensitivity as far as I can tell with using my Finger or the Spen after 24 hrs of use. 2 specs of dirt did manage to get under the glass, but I've almost gotten to the point I can ignore them, and I'm pretty sure if I try to remove it to get rid of them it will make it worse.
The dot matrix on the screen can be seen in some lighting conditions, but you need to look pretty close and not really a distraction.
It seems to fit fine with my Spigen Tough Armor case. My only beef so far is the edges are starting to collect lint/dust etcs. In about a month the surrounding edges of this protector may look really bad. But only time will tell.
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Coverage-Installation-amFilm-Tempered/dp/B074G1W2RC
I bought the same protector and installed it and only left it on the table untouched for a few days and it lifted off the screen so TechMatte sent me a new one but haven't installed it yet. I'm trying to use it with a Ringke Fusion case.
So its been a little over a week since I put on the screen protector. My only big issue so far is when I hit the down arrow, it makes a noise like its lifting up the protector. Though looks at the protector it still seems glued down so not exactly sure what is going on. Maybe how its rubbing against the protector. TechMatte is sending me another free of charge to put on to see if that helps. As for the crud around the edges, I've just got used to it now. It isn't to bad.
I have used the am film screen protector on my S8 plus and Note 8. It works better than any other I have found. There are some cases that don't work well with it - it all depends on where the case fits on the phone in relation to the glass - if it touches the glass, it is going to lift up the corner or sides at some point. Ringke Fusion and a few others that I have tried work every well. Many of the screen protectors like am film added additional glue to the edges of the screen protector and the good ones included a guide that you use when installing the glass - if the screen protector is perfectly centered on the phone's screen, it works exceptionally well.
The glass clicking was what made me noticed the TGSP lifted as I can lightly touch and the entire glass would come off. I also have the Ringke Fusion. It was TechMatte who told me about the glue only being on the edges when I wrote them about it. I never even noticed there were less than full adhesive TGSP as I have used AmFilm on both the LG G4 and the iPhone 6S Plus without issues.

Well, I thought I was going to love this screen protector. Unfortunately I ended up returning it. The edges keep lifting up, getting a ton of dust underneath the protector and I'm starting to loose sensitivity.

I actually used the original one that lifted with a Ringke Fusion case yesterday and while it worked fine without the case, it seems like the case is sticking in between the screen and the AmFilm which is what is causing the lift. I guess they could use better adhesive.
