You've got a hard brick, seems to be happening to many lately. Get a replacement or get the motherboard changed under warranty.

Was this brick caused by the S-Off and restore? or just randomly?

Apparently, it's random. Mine bricked like this too. They'll replace/repair it under warranty, they can't know about unlocked bootloader or s-off after a hard brick.

Well, mash the thanks button all you want . I'm having a hard time keeping my anger with htc down. My phone was repaired 5 times within 5 months, and yet had problems, so they replaced it and gave me a new phone which was defective and now they're gonna replace that phone too.. Damn, I feel like killing them

When I was trying to do MID change, part of the process puts the phone in QHUSB_DLOAD mode, I ended up getting out of it by shining a bright light on it a few times with it plugged into the computer and having a device manager open so I can see any changes. It took a few tries, but it got detected eventually.
Try that as well.

Hi, Thanks for the reply!! Im willing to try ANYTHING...the light was directed at the proximity sensors? and were u holding the power button? because if i hold the power button it goes in and out of the qhsusb mode but if i dont it just stays there

Correct that's what was happening to me too. Yes shine the light on the sensor. I will suggest keep trying. You don't have much to lose, unfortunately

UPDATE: Tried the bright light trick, tried holding all button combinations separately...tried everything..left the phone plugged into the pc, left it in the wall, still no red light but now when i connect it to the PC the device manager list just refreshes. No more qhsusb_dload it just refreshes over and over...i saw on a thread that some guy left his plugged in for 4 days and it came back on. Whats the chance of that happening for me?

If you have a QHUSB_DLOAD device then there is nothing to do. Your motherboard must be replaced.

Hey guys,
just flashed purexaduio over CM10.1...worked fine so far so i went under the show and let my One do my entertainment and then...all of a sudden...music stopped. Phone powered off. Battery is full, but no LED appears when plugged in. I can try to power it on/off (down't know in which state it actually is)
adb devices - shows nothing....
does someone has an idea?

Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Does it reset or the capacitive buttons flash. Try the power and the volume down for 30 seconds.
Doubt you bricked it

nope...the only thing my One does is nothing....
no charging LED, no capacitive buttons, which flashes...no vibrations....
the only thing i can face is, that my phone is quite warm, given the fact that it actually does nothing
Happened to me too, complete hardware failure. Im investigating now. Not too happy
Yeah, I'm having the same issues. No pureaudio flash, but was using CM10.1. Hoping someone finds a resolve soon!
actually i'm not at home this weekend, so i cannot try around. but it would be great if somehase has a solution until tuesday xD

So far a solution seems distant. It seems to be complete hardware failure hence the lack of charging led and capacitive button emits. I would suggest going through the process of replacement as a fix is unlikely without a jtag device.

I spoke with an HTC employee today - the power supply in the phone appears to be destroyed. This apparently comes from using third party cables, but it is covered under warranty...
This appears to be a complete hardware failure. Not software related, sadly. Really turns me off from getting another One, I may see if Telus will exchange an S4 for me instead. :/

Device Will Not Turn On, Hard Reset Not Working, No Lights Working (LED & Soft)

Hey Guys,
I apologise for the long Title but I coudlnt figure out a better way to to title the thread...
anyways I went to bed and plugged in my phone as per usual with an alarm set for 1230pm. come 1230pm, alarm goes off, i snooze it until 1pm. The next time it goes off, the alarm sounds for about a split second and then its off - I didnt turn it off.
So obviously i am a bit concerned since this has never happened before. I check the device and its off. Mind you this entire time the phone is plugged into the wallcharger from HTC.
I think its a random reboot (which i have never had before) and try to reboot the phone - nothing happens.
I try the hard reboot - nothing
The lights, both soft keys and LED for power will not even turn on or respond. Plugging it into a computer, it isnt recognized. Its as if the device is just dead. The power was at 100% too.
I would like to add that it is currently plugged in. I am hoping it simply, inexplicably lost power (happened on my Xperia T) and i have to give it some long-term juice. It does get a bit warm while plugged in right now.
it was running CM10.1 nightly 5-20.
does anyone have any insight or advice for this?

This is the 3rd incident that I know of a phone dieing. Mine was one, then there was another, and now you. All running CM 10.1. When Mine died I was transferring files via usb with the computer so I figured something fried in there (weird but the only explanation at the time). I came here for help too. That phone is long gone at this point. The thing is that I was told it's very very hard to brick a phone like that with S-on.
I don't know. I do love CM but i'll be waiting for a stable build before I go back again. GL to you. I had it it returned under the pretense that it was a hardware failure. The other guy who's phone also bricked said that there is some sort of issue with the batteries or something. I haven't confirmed that with anyone.

You can try to scan the cm 10.1 forum. they are pretty unforgiving if you brick your phone. Try to get a logcat to them so they can take a look at it (sarcasm). They completely ignored my post (I had the alpha when it crashed and burned). He the other guy also posted there and they did go back and forth for a few post, but they squashed it pretty quickly. I haven't checked any of the AOSP forums, so it may not be CM 10.1 at all. It could very well be hardware issues. Either way, with S-off its very hard to do something like this and I'm really more convinced its hardware. But unless it can be confirmed that AOSP didn't cause the issue, then i'll hang on to my doubts and wait for something more stable. I give maybe a month or 2.

custom kernals running sense based roms and a launcher should tide me over till then. With desense version coming out and s-off soon, it should make AOSP roms more solid.

Thanks, I am dead certain its hardware related myself. I am going to leave this plugged in, maybe it really needs to get properly charged (its happened to me with my old Xperia T where it went into deeeeeep sleep due to power loss), so i will be keeping it plugged in until Monday and then taking it Rogers, thankfully i bought a warranty for just this sort of crap happening.

well when I had mine I tried leaving it plugged in for a day, but I didn't put it under bright light. I didn't notice a fast discharge with mine either. It was plugged into the usb port to my computer and I was transferring files. I could have missed it though, I mean I was around 90% at the time and wasn't too worried about the charge.

...and they sent me a device with a scratched up screen :/
does anyone know if a similar issue to mine was fixed? either on XDA or somewhere else? i really just want to get back to my own One
I had this happen to mine. No fix I've seen works, they just replaced mine with new one. If they sent you scratched replacement all I can say is complain and demand another one.

So you guys have cm10.1 installed when it happened? just want to confirm it occurs only with phones with cm10 installed, and not with Stock rooted sense! I don't want to end up like this, so I'll avoid cm roms for now, I'll stick with Sense only, and If the problem occured with Stock rooted sense, I will not even root my phone
Can you guys confirm this?
Thanks in advance,

[Q] Flashed a corrupted hboot.img... bricked

So... I was trying to revert my M7 to stock so I could send it in and get the camera fixed. At the time it was bricked, it was S-off.
I followed this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44080767&highlight=model+id+check+fail#post44080767 and downloaded the hboot they linked. I didn't realize it, but the download completed with only 100k or so completed of the 2mb file. I wrote it in fastboot, rebooted and BAM. Black screen. When I plug in the USB, I get a sound that the device is recognized, but that's it. ****. What else can I do? Holding the power button doesn't even make the lights flash, because I have somehow written a corrupted 100k hboot to my phone. Is there any way to fix this? Should I just give it to the courier who was going to pick it up to fix my camera and tell him some story about how it suddenly bricked?
Can you still boot into Bootloader.
If so can you post a fastboot getvar all..

Can't get into bootloader-- the screen doesn't turn on. I just hear the USB sound when I plug it in/unplug it. Can't seem to turn it off. Computer recognizes it as QHSUSB_DLOAD

That is bad, have not seen a single person who was able to fix QHSUSB_DLOAD.
Sending it to HTC will be the only fix as far as I know.
See here for more QHSUSB_DLOAD information on mulitple devices:

oh jesus... is there anything I could tell the courier/HTC that would make sense? I bought this phone 2 months ago...
They probably won't be able to tell if the phone was ever rooted. Dead motherboard.. Just hand it in.. and if under warranty they will replace it.

QHUSB_DLOAD issue sometime happen for no reason (dead motherboard) even if the user have not tampered with the phone. In this case you did but they will not know.
So better to tell something like: I let my phone charge, when I woke up in the morning it was dead instead of telling them you droped it on the floor (as it could void the warranty)

[Q] ATT HTC One, Non-Rooted, No Issues Suddenly Non-Responsive in HSUSB-QLoader

Hey all,
I've had an HTC One M7 from ATT for a year and two days. I know it it is that time, because I according to ATT and HTC, it's my problem now because my warranty and insurance expired.
It has been a wonderful phone. I have not rooted it or ran any non-Play Store apps. I have not dropped it or exposed it to water. It was working normally, and sitting at 70%, when it powered down.
Power button and holding it down didn't do anything. No response from being plugged in. I ran through power+up vol, then power+down vol, then power+up vol+down vol (for five minutes). I will let it charge all tonight, but I don't know if that will do anything.
When plugged into my computer, it registers as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM5)," which from what I read, is the sign of a hardbrick.
I am currently abroad and don't know if I will be able to find a JTAB (from what I gather, that can help). Are there ANY other ideas of how to get this phone running again? It happened so randomly, I can't imagine that the HW would suddenly die; it must be SW.
My only thought is that it doesn't like the HTC European charger, and it Borked the charge data. But HTC Tech Support said as it was OEM, there shouldn't be any problem.
A few important work SMS and the phone number of a date I was in the process of confirming with are on this phone. Please help.
Heartfelt thanks,
vorwarnung

your phone is bricked, this tool is the only known way to recover from qhusb_dload mode, read the guide carefully and follow instructions.
the only other way out of this is to send your phone to htc so the can replace the motherboard.

This just happens without any signs or warning? I feel like a critical software problem like this would be taken care of in debug. The only change to my phone was an OTA to Sense 6 two weeks ago, but it hasn't had any problems software or otherwise. Sure looks like HTC screwed me over with this one.

QHSUSB_DLOAD = Dead phone, either because of hardware defect or because a firmware incompatibility
option 1: follow the guide to revive your phone, if it doesn't work
option 2: send the phone to htc for repair.

I suppose it's wishful thinking to assume that I'll keep any data on the phone, eh? I had to turn off my backup while I'm studying abroad, so I have about two months worth of contacts and photos to lose. Aw, well. Thanks for telling me about your experience!

In your experience with this, can you run it in a virtualbox? I can see my device, and it's recognized as it should within Ubuntu and Fedora (both virtual), but the .sh can't seem to locate my phone. Since it is pulling the correct code, I can assume it is not a hardware issue.
I'm sorry if you're not qualified to answer this question, but being new, it won't let me post in Dexter's thread.
Thanks!

the screen flickered for a bit and then went black. i assumed maybe the phone had died, but when i plug it in the green light comes on and i left it charging all night and it still refused to power on.
i tried everything and i cant get it inot bootloder, recovery, or to boot.
i have some important pictures and messages on there id really not want to loose, is there any way i can retrieve this information?
