LG L3 II Root Guide - Optimus L3, L5, L7 General

I don't whether anyone has posted this earlier or not, this are well tested rooting methods for LG L3 II devices, LG E430 and E435 and hope to work on E425.

Lg Optimus 2x from Wind, rooted & Unlocked

Hi,
I have got this LG optimus 2x from Wind, unlocked, and rooted. The thing is that I am still using 2.2, and for the longest time I have been waiting for an update, yet nothing seems to appear. I was looking around and I found this guide:
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-lg-optimus-2x-to-android-2-3-4-gingerbread.html
To my knowledge it seems pretty legit, but the links are old, and I can no longer get the files I need to perform the upgrade. Do you guys advice me to perform such an upgrade, or should I go for custom ROMs (not a big fan)?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Try to search a live link in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041 or google it...
You can flash older version (V10) with smartflash, then use lg update tool to update it to the newest.
You can try this rom, too, it is the newest stock with minor changes http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041 and easily flashable through cwm.

You are on the wrong forum. LG Optimus 2X is LGP990 but the one from Wind is LGP999 (a.k.a. G2X) . Head over to the T Mobile LG G2X Forum

Easiest way to root and install ICS?

Hello all,
I;m new to this whole rooting and ROM community (iphone 4 user). I'm wondering if there were any easy way to root the Optimus X2 (from WIND) then install ICS? Can anyone direct me to the two guides that does this specifically? Also, I'm on a MAC would any of this work on a mac?
Thank you.
Hi!
Your in the wrong section mate. You've got a LG Optimus 2X Speed from WIND, which makes it a LG G2X instead of a O2X. There are some hardware differences between these phones, therefore the roms and kernels over here won't work on your phone. My advice to you is to ask around in the LG G2X section.
Yes your phone is P999 = G2X O2X is P990

[Q] root and recovery for D400h

Hello everybody,
i have the lg l90 d400h model, but i dont find any tutorial to do root or instal cwm and a rom cyanogenmod like example for this variant, i dont like the stock rom but the phone is incredible!
Please help me adding any link safe to do this things
I will be thank for ever
As far as I know these tutorials are universal (for every L90 model), at least I have not noticed any restrictions regarding different models. I can be wrong of course, but I doubt in this case. What's your software version?

Somebody can tell me?

LG L90 & LG G2 Mini - Doubt

When looking at both devices, I see that they are identical, or at least almost in relation to this, which would imply trying to install a ROM made for the L90 in G2m? is there a risk of killing the device?
I read that Global WCDMA Variant not the LTE use the same CPU as the lg l90. It still may not work..just keep your old firmware ready.

Unlock the bootloader on the LG V40 thinq by demanding an unlock code from LG.

I now have an officially unlocked LG V40 thinq even though it is NOT on their official list of supported devices. I bought a LMV405EBW, (Australian version) naively thinking it was a supported device. To me, if it had the same model number it should be treated as unlockable. When i asked LG why NONE of their phones sold here could be officially unlocked but their 'European' versions could they couldn't provide an answer except say that my version wasn't supported. Nor could they provide any reason WHY it wasn't supported..
Eventually LG relented and provided me with an unlock code. Which raises the obvious question of if they can easily and quickly provide me with an unlock code why can't they do that across the board?

But doesn't the buying public have a right to know this information? Again, I ask why one version can be unlocked officially but not others?
Is there any unofficial methods to unlock boot loader of LG V40 THINQ LMV 405 Indian version since it is not officially supported to unlock bootloader

Okay, well here's what I'd suggest. If you run into problems wit that guide, post the problem in that guide. That way people who have done it can help. When you post you had an issue in some different thread, it's very possible that those that have had success doing it aren't going to read the other thread, and thus you end up with no help.
I can tell you I've done it, I know it works, but there are some hurdles you have to get over, like working with windows and qfil, getting windows and adb and fastboot to work, which means installing the right drivers for windows, which can be a pain...
but, the help you need is in that thread, not here.
I will try all those steps in thread & share to you soon
I could not find proper USB Drivers for LG V40 THINQ & I am unable to enter fast boot mode or EDL mode . Pls help me
