[Help] HTC One M7 EU Bricked (Hard) - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
Yesterday I installed a theme that soft bricked my M7 (was hanging in boot animation).
So I tried to restore my phone to what it was before in recovery mode (TWRP installed). After I wasn´t able to locate the backup I tried to install a custom rom to be able to access the HTC One again. This was the biggest fail. It deleted my /system and /data and my internal storage and the installation of the rom failed. Since then I am only able to access TWRP and Bootloader.
When I try to install a custom rom with TWRP install, this happens:
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/ViperOne_4.2.0.zip'
Updating partition details...
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to mount internal storage
Even wipe fails. Tried to install different roms (tried Guru Reset, too).
So I tried to reinstall my phone from the roots by using RUU. But this fails, too:
C:\Users\toolchain\Downloads\Compressed\HTCOneRoot>fastboot flash zip ruu.zip
sending 'zip' (234655 KB)...
OKAY [ 10.456s]
writing 'zip'...

(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
(bootloader) Read zipped android_info fail

finished. total time: 11.941s
I tried to install the RUU with and without oem lock. Does not work.
Now I really don´t know what to do and I don´t want to send the mobile phone to HTC if I am able to fix it myself.
Extra information:

eMMC-boot 2048MB
I hope you are able to help me. I really need my phone working. Never install custom roms again...
Thank you.

You are not hard bricked. First seems like you don't have the correct recovery, try reflashing recovery than sideload a ROM.zip
Second you can't flash the ruu.zip from bootloader, that' why you get that error, you need to run the exe file from the computer

And what exactly are you trying to flash? The file size looks way too small for a ruu.zip (which should be around 1GB, not 235MB).

TWRP most be 2.6.3.3 ver to flash Viper 4.2.

Ok, might be my fail. Now I have CWM installed.
Thank you for your try to help.

SD card issue can be fixed by flashing stock recovery and doing a factory reset.
Can you paste your fastboot getvar all output ? Remove imei/sn

From the looks of things, you at one time flashed or upgraded to the Sense 3.0/GB 2.3.5 because you have HBOOT 2.01.0001, but your mainver now show 2.12.708.4 which is a GB 2.3.3/Sense 2.1 ROM.
You can get rid of the security warning by flashing back to the Sense 3.0/GB 2.3.5 ROM.

Which 2 RUU/ROMs did you try?
It looks like you should be using this one:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0c...22U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_227715_signed.exe
should use the EXE or get the rom out from temp file and flash zip \ PG32IMG.zip ?

Search the forum. A goldcard is simply a sd card that has a signature file that will allow the phone to install a ROM that has a different CID than the one configured. That is what you need to get around the CID error.
ty, Created gold card using this guide->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104226
checked if it worked as writting in the guide above.. passed the tests
and then i tried to flash it normaly using PG32IMG.zip(getting rom.zip from exe -> change name -> copy to PG32IMG.zip -> enter bootloader and let it work its magic..), didnt work so i tried with fastboot..(fastboot flash zip rom.zip)

You install this from recovery mode, not from fastboot. Boot into recovery and choose install from sd card.

OK, I just read all of the posts again. In POST #11, you said you extracted the ROM.zip from the RUU and copied it to the SD card as PG32IMG.zip but it failed.
What error message did it fail with? I noticed that when you tried to flash the ROM.zip in FASTBOOT mode you got a signature error, so maybe you need to extract the ROM.zip again.
Also when you made the goldcard, which MMC value did you use? For the IncS you need to use MMC2.

I was try to flash new firmware in RUU mode, firmware is flashing correct, fastboot command return that flash is completed successful, but the progress line below HTC logo going to about 90% and stop.

E:Unable to mount '/cache'
and

RUU fails because you need to be S-Off to flash the RUU it is a downgrade to 1.44...you have hboot 1.55, I dont know if there is a way to get S-off yet with 1,55, search threads to get S-off, then you will be able to flash the RUU
This is why I love this forum. I'm still in the noob starter program lol, so I don't post much at all yet, but the info you guys provide is priceless. Thank you THANK YOU very much!
did you try to use your HTC one from sprint on att network or any GSM net work with GOOGE EDITION stock android ? Please let me know. because i about to buy HTC one from sprint then convert to google edtion then use on ATT network.

HTC One Sprint Phone somewhat bricked

I have had Android phones since 2010 and have rooted all of them.
I have S-Off'ed the evo shift, evo-4g and the evo-4g-lte
Got phone today. Unlocked, tried to load a rom but got errors. could not Mount USB via recovery. when i did a factory wipe and rebooted it just sits at white HTC logo.
I can get back into fastboot and CWM recovery (can even fastboot different recoveries) But cannot Mount USB to copy a ROM over.
The RUU exe's fail..
I just tried a RUU.zip via fastboot OEM and got this

What should i do next?
when i run "fastboot oem rebootRUU" to get phone into recovery mode, then run the RUU, it is sitting at "sending " indefinitely.
trying "Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_3_04_651_2_RUU.zip" now thought the phone had the OTA of 4.06.651.9

HELP - BRICKED One!

I was flashing a new rom onto my HTC One today and my daughter got hold of it (Age 3) whilst my back was turned and has wiped the ROM completely!
I have TWRP v2.7.1.1 touch bootloader but I cant get a ROM installed - fastboot won't recognise that there is a device attached even though I get the 'connected sound' when I connect to my windows 8 laptop. I have searched for all the fastboot and adb solutions but have come to a dead end!
I think its dead! :crying:
Fastboot usb shows on the phone screen when connected though
the OS - on the fastboot screen shows blank too!

lol if you have a working recovery then your device is not bricked. Even if your recovery is broken if you can access the bootloader your device is still fine.
It sounds to me like you are having some trouble with the windows drivers.. if you have a pc with linux I would try it there as it is easier. or if you only have win8 then you have to install these drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544146
btw what problem do you have when installing the rom via recovery?

I cant flash a different recovery anymore I presume as my bootloader is "RELOCKED" and I can't work out how to unlock it. HTCDev can't unlock it.

What is "bootloader signature checking"? How do I resolve that problem of FAILED?
I can access the RUU screen successfully
[INDENTC:\android-tools>fastboot oem rebootRUU

but when I try to flash a .zip it doesn't work still

Anyone have any ideas of how to get the signature checking to work?
I have managed to unlock again using my Unlock_code.bin file but it still fails to load the .zip ROM

I have now managed to load ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.6
I have found I can't mount the /sdcard
I guess that's where my problem lies? If my phone has forgotten how to find /sdcard then how can it flash to it?

I have wiped the system and cache just in case and am attempting the sideload but when i do the "adb devices" it doesn't sow my device number, where it does if in fastboot.
G:\adb>adb devices
List of devices attached

And when I attempt at adb sideload I get this
G:\adb>adb sideload One_5.11.401.10_odexed.zip
error: device not foundStuck again :crying:
Oh - How important is the USB OTG in the adb sideload

Sorry for being so stupid! I feel like a noob on this device (not flashed or rooted in about 3 years!)
Reading it all again I see I need S-Off. My Security is ON. and I can't turn it off as I can't install SuperSU or Superuser or anything at all.
Any thoughts?

sorry, i don't follow. it has nothing to do with s-on or s-off.
you say your device isn't being seen while in custom recovery, but it has to show somewhere in device manager, no? if yes, then you may need to manually select the correct drivers, that's it
