HTC One Sprint Phone somewhat bricked - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have had Android phones since 2010 and have rooted all of them.
I have S-Off'ed the evo shift, evo-4g and the evo-4g-lte
Got phone today. Unlocked, tried to load a rom but got errors. could not Mount USB via recovery. when i did a factory wipe and rebooted it just sits at white HTC logo.
I can get back into fastboot and CWM recovery (can even fastboot different recoveries) But cannot Mount USB to copy a ROM over.
The RUU exe's fail..
I just tried a RUU.zip via fastboot OEM and got this
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C:\android\tools>fastboot flash zip Rom.zip
sending 'zip' (1029724 KB)...
OKAY [ 40.556s]
writing 'zip'...
(bootloader) adopting the signature contained in this image...
(bootloader) signature checking...
(bootloader) rom parsing start ...
(bootloader) rom parsing finish ...
(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
(bootloader) Read zipped android_info fail
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What should i do next?

when i run "fastboot oem rebootRUU" to get phone into recovery mode, then run the RUU, it is sitting at "sending " indefinitely.
trying "Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_3_04_651_2_RUU.zip" now thought the phone had the OTA of 4.06.651.9

Have you checked MD5 on your download? Maybe it's just a corrupt download.

I needed to be in the "Sprint HTC one" forum. I was using the wrong Recovery and roms.
Everything is great now. and sorry to waste your time!

From the looks of things, you at one time flashed or upgraded to the Sense 3.0/GB 2.3.5 because you have HBOOT 2.01.0001, but your mainver now show 2.12.708.4 which is a GB 2.3.3/Sense 2.1 ROM.
You can get rid of the security warning by flashing back to the Sense 3.0/GB 2.3.5 ROM.

Which 2 RUU/ROMs did you try?
It looks like you should be using this one:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/c0c...22U_3822.10.08.28_M_release_227715_signed.exe
should use the EXE or get the rom out from temp file and flash zip \ PG32IMG.zip ?

Search the forum. A goldcard is simply a sd card that has a signature file that will allow the phone to install a ROM that has a different CID than the one configured. That is what you need to get around the CID error.
ty, Created gold card using this guide->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104226
checked if it worked as writting in the guide above.. passed the tests
and then i tried to flash it normaly using PG32IMG.zip(getting rom.zip from exe -> change name -> copy to PG32IMG.zip -> enter bootloader and let it work its magic..), didnt work so i tried with fastboot..(fastboot flash zip rom.zip)

OK, I just read all of the posts again. In POST #11, you said you extracted the ROM.zip from the RUU and copied it to the SD card as PG32IMG.zip but it failed.
What error message did it fail with? I noticed that when you tried to flash the ROM.zip in FASTBOOT mode you got a signature error, so maybe you need to extract the ROM.zip again.
Also when you made the goldcard, which MMC value did you use? For the IncS you need to use MMC2.

RUU fails because you need to be S-Off to flash the RUU it is a downgrade to 1.44...you have hboot 1.55, I dont know if there is a way to get S-off yet with 1,55, search threads to get S-off, then you will be able to flash the RUU
This is why I love this forum. I'm still in the noob starter program lol, so I don't post much at all yet, but the info you guys provide is priceless. Thank you THANK YOU very much!
did you try to use your HTC one from sprint on att network or any GSM net work with GOOGE EDITION stock android ? Please let me know. because i about to buy HTC one from sprint then convert to google edtion then use on ATT network.

[Help] HTC One M7 EU Bricked (Hard)

Hi guys.
Yesterday I installed a theme that soft bricked my M7 (was hanging in boot animation).
So I tried to restore my phone to what it was before in recovery mode (TWRP installed). After I wasn´t able to locate the backup I tried to install a custom rom to be able to access the HTC One again. This was the biggest fail. It deleted my /system and /data and my internal storage and the installation of the rom failed. Since then I am only able to access TWRP and Bootloader.
When I try to install a custom rom with TWRP install, this happens:
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/ViperOne_4.2.0.zip'
Updating partition details...
E: Unable to mount '/data'
E: Unable to mount internal storage
Even wipe fails. Tried to install different roms (tried Guru Reset, too).
So I tried to reinstall my phone from the roots by using RUU. But this fails, too:
C:\Users\toolchain\Downloads\Compressed\HTCOneRoot>fastboot flash zip ruu.zip

OKAY [ 10.456s]

(bootloader) zip header checking...
(bootloader) zip info parsing...
(bootloader) Read zipped android_info fail
FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail)
finished. total time: 11.941s
I tried to install the RUU with and without oem lock. Does not work.
Now I really don´t know what to do and I don´t want to send the mobile phone to HTC if I am able to fix it myself.
Extra information:

I hope you are able to help me. I really need my phone working. Never install custom roms again...
Thank you.
You are not hard bricked. First seems like you don't have the correct recovery, try reflashing recovery than sideload a ROM.zip
Second you can't flash the ruu.zip from bootloader, that' why you get that error, you need to run the exe file from the computer

And what exactly are you trying to flash? The file size looks way too small for a ruu.zip (which should be around 1GB, not 235MB).
TWRP most be 2.6.3.3 ver to flash Viper 4.2.

Stock ROM flash error

Hallo.
I did follow the guide how to flash stock ROM and came here:
6. Install *.zip from SD-card
7. Connect your device on PC
8. Run ADB and reboot on bootloader
So I installed the stock from SD successfuly, shut down and bootet back to recovery -> fastboot. Then I wrote to fastboot following "fastboot oem rebootRUU"which rebooted the HTC into a black looking HTC screen. So i wrote into CMD folowing "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip" and after a couple of seconds this came onto my screen:

Your bootloader needs to be locked. You can do this with the command fastboot oem lock.
Then flash the firmware.zip
Then re unlock your bootloader with your unlock token (careful, your data will be lost, make a back-up beforehand)

Usb debugging is only needed to get adb commands working from a booted OS. You don't need to have USB Debugging turned on to use adb commands from TWRP. Anyway pdanet will not work from twrp...
You'll need to install the right drivers so you can use adb commands (form TWRP) and fastboot commands (from bootloader) to fix your phone.
Download and install the latest driver version for HTC: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1ulx1xl5k1zhk5j/HTC_Driver_4.17.0.001.exe
Once done, connect your phone to your computer and reboot it in bootloader mode. Make sure that you can see "fastboot usb" highlighted in red (like in this picture). If yes, open a command window from your computer adb/fastboot folder and type "fastboot getvar all" (without the quotes) and hit enter. Copy/paste the output here so we can know a little more about your phone and how to help you get the correct rom on it (remove your IMEI and SERIALNO before posting).
Btw do you want it to run a stock or custom rom? What is your TWRP version?
"alray" I download the drivers and install them, I connected the phone in fastboot and is highlighted red with the usb as well, I open the command center and type "fastboot getvar all", but it says waiting for any device, and stays there does not do anything, I wait almost 30 minutes and nothing, am i doing something wrong?, thanks
apparently even after installing the drivers, the device manager still not recognize my phone, although in the fastboot bootloader says usb, I do not know how to insert and image about my device manager, phone and installation programs, sorry
"alray", finally got it, is used this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118#post48915118, version 1.3, and drivers were installed correctly, this is the information you requested me,

Regarding the rom, I dont have any preference, I even not know the difference, can you recommend me one?, and TWRP version 3.0.2-0, now what would be the next step?, thanks
@alray [alray][/alray], which rom should I install and how, I try to download htc gen unlock, dev edition unlock, and once connected to the phone in fastboot usb, using command fastboot update "*.zip (zip file I download)", but says that "error: update package 'C:\fastboot\m7wlv-3.4.10-g7875f0c.zip' has no android-info.txt", should I install a different one?, thanks

This file is not for your phone, better to delete it you'll not need it.
I would suggest that you flash a RUU, this will get back your phone to the stock rom. The process is a little different from flashing a rom from TWRP but imo, the result is better.
download htc_fastboot.exe and save it in the same folder where you already have adb.exe and fastboot.exe
Download this RUU and save it in the same folder where you already have adb.exe, fastboot.exe and htc_fastboot.exe
Note that there is currently maintenance on the website hosting these files, if you can't download the files wait a few hours and try again.
Connect your phone to your computer, reboot it in bootloader mode and make sure "fastboot usb" is highlighted in red
Start a command window from your adb/fastboot folder
Type:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Your phone will reboot in RUU mode, a black screen with silver HTC logo.
Type
Code:
fastboot flash zip PN07IMG_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Europe_7.19.401.51_Radio_4T.35.3218.16_10.33Q.1718.01L_release_458803_signed.zip
Wait for the file to be flashed (it will take several minutes).
Once the RUU is sucesfully flashed reboot the phone using this command:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Note that the first boot after flashing a RUU can take a little more time than usual.
Btw sorry for the delay, got a problem here just after replying to your PM.

Hello bud. I'm quiet experienced with the HTC One (M7) and would be more the happy to help you with your issue. Are you trying to update to the latest HTC firmware or lollipop?
¤-TIP FROM THE NOOB-¤-¤-
1. enable USB Debugging before flashing custom recovery.
2. back up system before granting apk's root permission, editing system files, and flashing a new rom.
? better safe than sorry ?
?May the Angels lead your way Tom (Tony Stark) . You will be missed bud ?

Glad you are joining the discussion cause I'll eventually leave to work. OP should be able to flash the RUU with your help, just forgot to mention that he/she had to use htc_fastboot for flashing the RUU hence the "Invalid sparse file format" error (See post above yours).
Btw no offense intended but I think tip #1 is leading to confusion. USB debugging is not required to flash a custom recovery nor it is required to use adb from recovery. USB debugging is only enabling ADB access from a booted rom...:good:
