My game got popular in Russia, not at all in USA - App Stores

Hello,
I am writing mostly because of curiosity. I made an android game inspired by one DOS game I used to like when I was kid. With several added features, like online multiplayer, you can search for "Annelids" if you want to check. (I can't send links yet.)

After initial struggling it got more or less popular, but what is interesting:
About 25 % of all downloads come from Russia and only 4 % from USA. According to Google Play statistics, average in Arcade games is having 5 % from Russia and 13 % from USA. Downloads from other countries are close to the average values.
The game doesn't have Russian localization and until recently we didn't even have Russian translation of Google Play page. We didn't do any kind of promotions for Russia.
I am not complaining at all, but I wonder how could that happen.
Any possible explanations?

That is to say, people in Russia like your game more. So,I think you can focus your market in Russia.

What are the overall download numbers like? If its a new release with very few downloads, then its possible the % difference comes down to a single extended group of friends in Russia.

The number are quite big now, bit over 100 000 downloads and over 24 000 is from Russia, second highest is Mexico with 7 000 (there I know why, we had some marketing in first phases there), then the others...
I am curious if there are some significant differences in the Google Play in different countries.
I find it hard to believe that there would be so different tastes in games in different countries. Do people in USA hate worms so much?
One possible explanation to me is that there is lot of games enabled only for USA, so there is bigger competition. But I don't know why would anyone want to limit themselves so much.

Double Down on Russia

I can't explain why it's done so much better in Russia but I would double my efforts in Russia ASAP including localizing and submitting to the Yandex store there.

I would suggest to keep marketing in Russia then. They like your game.

US is 7 times more competitive than Russia. Here is why.
First of all, congratulations. Russia is not an easy market, it is very competitive, and your success shows you are doing things right.
However the number of downloads required for a game to make it to the top ranking in Russia and the US differ greatly. Of course ranking high means that you get maybe as many paid downloads (through advertising) as organic installs.
But to get to the top to be noticed by the top players you need the following number of daily installs:
Top 10 free, iPhone - sorry, dont have stats for Android: US - 17'161 Russia - 2362
Top 20 free US - 5509 Russia - 1256
Top 50 free US - 2712 Russia- 403
To get there you will have a CPI of $2-$3 probably (of course everyone wants a magic figure of $1,5 but only if your optimisation and traffic sources are perfect). If you have that budget, prepare to spend $34'000 for a few days because your competitors are going to be Candy Crush Saga by King.com, and they have money to keep paying to stay up there.

This seems to be the decent answer to your question, michalsrb. You're lucky that you get people from Russia to download your game. They like it, so keep marketing on that location.

USA against the rest of the world

..and already lightyears behind.
OK, the question is what phone is working inthe rest of the World as well on the fu.. Island USA. It took for years jsut for those few monkeys the whole industry produce 4 Billion phones with a clear frequency band and than for afew US boys a tripple and a quadband. Not enough with UMTS (us consumers not even know what that is, so they call it 3G) teh whole mess is going in even worth than ever before.
So 99% of the worldwide UMTS phones are not working in on the US Island.
Do you anybody know how to get up to date phones with UMTS running on 2100 mhz (4000 Million can use this) as well on 850,1700,1900 mhz (for about 70 million
It is to sad jsut less than 2% mess up everything and need the production of another Phone for this Island of Inch, feet, pound and ounce dummies
Trouble is, unlike you, many americans don't realise there is a world outside thier shores. I feel your pain.
not sure why America always seem to use other bands then the rest of the world
guess I can think of 2 reasons
1. the american army use the frequencies the rest of the world use for something already
2. controlling markets like america use ntsc where most the rest of the world use pal as tv std. america use 110volts most other places it's 230volt, america use their own std for digital tv most the rest use dvb (digital video broadcast) and dvd regions where europe is region 2 and america region 1 to control releases and finally america use cdma and umts on other frequencies then the rest of the world does
in america, car driver seat on the left side, other countries driver seat on the right side?

i'd venture to say that such a statement is pretty blind as well. considering the international commerce and traveling that occurs
one reason is that the american market is also basically a self-sufficient market. the rest of the world, or at least europe, have to consider the bands everyone else is using for the sake of a little bit of consistency, as you can drive for a few hours and cross multiple countries and carriers. same goes for tv, cars, and even movies. only in america can you get a movie called Free Willy!

Actually more countries seat on the left and drive in the right.
UK/AUS/NZ/Japan/SA are examples of sitting on the right and driving on the left. It's so that you have your 'sword arm' available to defend yourself against oncoming threats when riding your horse (seriously).
Napoleon when he conquered much of mainland Europe (not UK) made everbody pass to the right (maybe he was left handed) and this has come down to the present day as driving on the right. Because most of the settlers in the Americas actually came from mainland Europe it was adopted there too.
End of history lesson.
good thing I'm left handed
Lol!

I as an American am ashamed and disgusted at how technical standards have gone down, but more so at how people don't understand there is a world outside of this once great country, let alone their own lives. It wasn't an overnight thing, it took time for the establishment to dumb us down starting mainly with the introduction of a central bank power established in 1913.
Fact: Central banking is a cornerstone of the communist manifesto. The federal reserve is a private corporation that controls the nation's money supply.
Another thing that has also is how the education system demonizes the family and also dumbs people down further... Former high up of the board of Education during the Clinton years; Charlotte Iserbyt explains this very well where people can read how the dumbing down is deliberate.
http://www.deliberatedumbingdown.com/MomsPDFs/DDDoA.sml.pdf
There are many more aspects that also contribute to the high rates of autism, retardation, and death.
It does bother me allot that people cannot understand even the basics when it comes to technology. Even still now I have to explain that DSL service does not tie up the phone line. I can report that there are allot of people who are waking up and understanding there is a world outside the USA, and are taking the necessary measures to take this country back. It's either that or humanity faces a new dark age... a scientific dictatorship if you will.

As for 911 being an inside job, that term may be a little too general. I think it is safer to say the jerks got a helping hand. There's no way a man hiding in a cave could have planted military grade explosives in the buildings, ( http://www.bentham-open.org/pages/g...df&PHPSESSID=a9965685c850fb70e4d44b1056447c3a ) make NORAD stand down, ( http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A50745-2004Jun17.html ) and have his family flown out of the country while everyone else was grounded ( http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2001/09/30/archive/main313048.shtml ).
The links are from a scientific peer reviwed journal, and two main stream articles. Not saying this is the whole story but should make anyone who isn't intellectually bankrupt to think "hey wtf?" Anywho, it's not my intention to steer the thread off topic with this, but I believe it is also this horrific event that has dumbed the country down even further.
You should stop reading republican propaganda and realize that there is no democratic or republican, no conservative or liberal, there is only right and wrong...

Bro.... I don't pay homage to any part of the false left/right paradigm, so don't even go there buddy. I disagreed with boosh, and i disagree with our current joker in chief. Funny how you accuse me of spewing republican propaganda, when those news outlets are left leaning... atleast for now until another republican takes over in 2012.
Just a year ago, you would have most likely said "you should stop reading leftist propaganda" eh... i shouldn't accuse like that, but it's just a guess.
This right here people is just another part of the mental illness America is under. Watch the youtube link in my signature to get more clarification on what I am talking about.

XDA Branding: MBA study

Hey guys. Sorry to cross post this (not sure which forum is best) but I wonder if you might like to help with some research?
I am writing an MBA case study on the branding of HTC, calling it 'the best company you've never heard of'.
I have had HTC phones from the very earliest days, discovering XDA-Developers.com about 7 years ago; I owe the devs here so much for their ROMs and good advice (currently using a Jade with pda-viet's 6.5 rom, waiting for he passion to come out to try my first android handset).
Anyway, two things have always amazed me:
1. That a company like HTC has taken such a weird approach to branding (compared to motorola, SE, Nokia and, oh, I don't know, Apple?) and has only in the last year or so decided to start to invest in their brand.
2. That despite their relative anonymity, the 'tribe' that they have managed to assemble around them to promote, support and fix their products globally (that's you guys) are so incredible.
I was wondering if any of you might have any comments about either the branding/marketing of the company (any direct experience of them?) or your experiences of being part of their brand 'tribe'?
I'd really appreciate any comments any of you may have; would really help me to understand the company and hopefully a. get them better known through the case study and b. get a great mark in my MBA.
Thanks so much for any help.

i think that one of the reasons they are sold under different brands is because they dont want to market the phones them selfves.
anyone think so>?
flyboy
It may appear that hTC have taken an unusual approach to marketing and promotion, but it is certainly not an unusual approach in business terms. In fact the concept of manufacturing goods to order for suppliers who have ready made and recognised brands is remarkably common. Of course most customers never really question whether the product is actually made by the brand name that appears on the case.
Many years ago when I did TV / radio repairs it was not unusual to find identical ocircuitboards and layout insude TVs that were sold under dozens of different brands. I'd say of around 50 brands I'd find maybe only 10 different circuits internally. The same is obviously true of hTC phones = many brands but all made by hTC but with different branded cases. This can be a good marketing strategy and is comparatively risk free if the deals with the brand companies are for fixed volume sales. If you can sell 10,000 units, but you don't have to market them or sell them to the public, that is a very stable and profitable position. Look at all the brands of flat screen panel TVs in the shops (dozens of them) but actually there are only a handful of manufacturers and most folk will never have heard of them. That situation nearly always changes though, once the product becomes a top seller. The risk of selling directly to the public is then greatly reduced - the high profile brand names having driven the initial public desire for the product.
Keep in mind too, that hTC were amongst the first to sell PDA/Phones with WM. A high risk position would have been to market these products through an unknown company. Far better to sell via high profile brand names. Of course, as these products have become more popular, it is now far less risky for hTC to sell direct to the public. This is of course what they have done in the past two years or so; the product is more popular and they now sell direct.
They have commenced TV advertising following the very obvious success of the iphone. It must have upset them greatly, to see Apple advertising as new products, phones which struggled to provide the functionality that hTC phones have had for years. But Apple do it so well and MOST importantly they market to the GENERAL public, not just geeks and business users. Riding on the success of the iPhone, I believe it is now felt by hTC, that they can also chase the popular, general public, market.
This does not of course mean good news for XDA-Developers (their unofficial support base). It may in fact mean that the whole process of support and development becomes more official - teams of paid developers etc etc. This could mean that the old voluntary developer type forum becomes something they no longer wish to unofficially support. We will need to wait to see whether success brings more work and more to develop by XDA-Developers or on the contrary; a clamping down by hTC and M$.
Remember, mass market success is not about small groups of geeky developers sitting at home and posting on the net, it is about applications that will be marketed and officially supported and therefore controlled by hTC and M$.
Mike
PS
... hTC are a highly successful company - in fact phenomenal success in just a few years - I wish I had bought shares. We can all point at Apple's success with the iPhone, but really the idea of licencing your produts for use on devices made by other people is a better more profitable model. Look at how much more successful M$ has been than Apple. That is because their software is licenced for use on ANY PC made by anybody. It essentially means you get lots of other people to sell your product for you. (it almost does not matter if folk have heard of you or not) Of course your product must work well - and if competition comes along (eg Apple), you MUST improve or die.
Interesting
Thanks for your response; I agree with all your key points, in particular the danger of going mainstream regarding the dev community (particularly here).
I've attached an early draft of my report; would be interested in any feedback, particularly insights into marketing decisions and likely outcomes of the collapse of WinMo and the shift to Android.

Excellent work. ... and I could'nt find much to argue with... shame I like a good argument.
I suppose out of all the good stuff, a point I felt could be strengthened is the one where a conclusion seems to be drawn that hTC will move away from WM. Yes, we know about Android and yes we know about iPhone but I'm not sure the case is made that hTC will abandon WM/M$. You may well be correct of course and I do recognise the possible departure from the "Tribal" developer communities in the future.
I think moves away from WM may be progressive but not necessarily final. Hving said that the whole OS for mobile market is not a stable one - who would have predicted this three years ago?: (let alone the stunning almost overnight rate of change)

Of course, and this a point that can be made I think, the iPhone did not simply claim market share from WM it actually expanded the market. ie They have increased the overall size of the market without necessarily reducing sales of WM. Market share is therefore a very misleading figure as in a sense WM is still selling as much as before, just that the market has been doubled (pure guess) in size.
So not a critisicm but perhaps to add a little ooomph to the conclusions, maybe just a bit more in the way of trend facts/statistics to prove the direction of travel (afterall you're preaching to the largely converted here, but I wonder how convinced a hard-bitten academic outsider would be??)
Nice work, I actually enjoyed reading your monograph and that I cannot say about lots of research pieces

Marketplace Description
Are you a good Alchemist ?
You are tasked with rebuilding the universe, bit by bit, or rather Element by Element. Starting with just 6 Elements (no, not just 4) and combining them using your skills, wits and knowledge, you will unlock 1600 more and 26 Realms.
Do you think you can you discover: Atomic Energy, Zeppelin, Chuck Norris, Atlantis or even ‘Angry Birds’ ?
Similar games include Doodle God, but please note that this is brand new, built from scratch, taking the concept directly from the old 80s ‘Alchemy’ and reinventing it in the process.
IT’S HUGE !
The game includes 1500 discoverable Elements, but grows with updates and your suggestions. In fact if you have an idea for a combination or feel that two elements should react, the game provides a direct link for the suggestion.
UNLOCK REALMS:
As you progress, you will find new Elements which will unlock more Realms

Please note that this game is brand new, it was built from scratch, both the interface and it's reactions. I played the old Alchemy game on MS-DOS and later incarnations, but noticed they tend to follow always the same reaction tree and sometimes I find some stuff repetitive.
With this game I tried to reset and rebuild the world, following scientific and historic logic when possible, and also attempting to use as much of the Metro interface as I could.
Following that principle, there is readily available a link to suggest new combinations. At the same time I'd also be glad to receive emails with comments about reactions already in place.
The Alchemic World in your phone is in expansion and you're welcome to contribute to it !

A first -small- batch of them, around 40 new elements, have been pushed to the marketplace certification and you should see it soon.
For anybody that is having problems finding 'Radiation', as reported in the blog, there was a small bug which is solved in this version.
Keep sending suggestions !
Version 1.3 up in the marketplace with a bunch of user suggested elements (thanks) and a squished radioactive bug
Had a few reports of users not being able to update/download the game. Please note it's a widespread issue and it's happening to the entire marketplace.
Enjoy the blog in the meanwhile !
[EDIT] solved now it seems !

I like the idea, I think that you can make use of better graphics though. I feel like a nice touch with a graphics designer friend's help would make the game more enjoyable!
Keep up the good work =)

Thanks ! All my graphic designer friends are either too busy or totally broke and left the activity. Talk about finding the right middle hehe
If anybody is willing to assist and provide around 600 icons (yeah, that's what is in the next update)
I agree interface could be fancier, at the same time I've always thought this game was a blast on MS-DOS basically without graphics...
oh, by the way, thanks to all those that downloaded the game, it's climbing the ranks quickly and making first place in this poll: http://www.bestwp7games.com/top-wp7-games-april-2011-poll.html
Won april best game poll ?
Is it my browser that has problems, or we actually made first spot in the April best game poll ???

Actually the graphics is not my strong side, but I'm struggling with sounds too. Anybody has an idea for a "Places" Realm sound ?

I have to say, I am loving this game! I convinced my friends to play other Alchemy games for themselves (because they either have an iPhone or an Android Phone) and they love this version so much more. They say it's because of the actual scientific aspect of it. I was at 40% before the update and now moved down to 26% :O
Thanks so much for a great game!

Hahaha glad to hear that. I too played other versions, old ones on the pc and new ones on android, but then wanted to do it in a different way, glad you like it.
Prepare to be moved back a bit more (850 elements) with the upcoming update, which has a surprise too...
The actual scientific/historic aspect is being taken care of, but lately I'm also finding a lot of funny suggestions. I hope the balance is kept, maybe check the website and leave some votes in the polls regarding it ! Thanks

Nexus 4 - Round 2 for international stores

It looks like lots of people who bought it in the US on the 27th have had their orders shipped. I would rather not go through that thread looking for updates when it's just people discussing when their package will be delivered. It's also been a few days since US store opened.
Let's dedicate this thread for the international play stores like Canada, UK, Germany, Australia, Spain, etc.
Here's some links from the original thread, thanks to tuffballa:
Play Store Availability APP: download this app straight from the play store to track new n4 stocks!

There is one thread I'm keeping an eye on, where a person is calling Google Play every day for Canada ETA. It's not much reliable info but might as well stoke the fire.
https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/mobile/9qI_Lvj8ivU/RVBn2cb4whEJ
Germany may have it on Dec 6?
http://www.giga.de/smartphones/das-...nd-bilder/news/nexus-4-bald-wieder-verfugbar/
My 2 cents - I like the idea of a new thread. Perhaps we could have in the OP the latest news / rumors for the international stores (or even US if they have stopped allowing new orders) about when new orders may go up. I made a mention on G+ to the Google Canada peeps but got no response (not that I expected one!). My gut tells me next week at least one international store will get sales going again..
I'm waiting until January before I go with a different phone, but my 2010 Acer phone is repeatly begging me to put it out of it's misery..
I'd support for another thread so that I do not open the old round 2 thread for the information that I don't need. That said, I guess this will still be closed.
So what's peoples' opinion on whether the international stock will be same as US? I really can't see them opening up stores in Canada or EU and start with 4-5 backorder. That's essentially giving US a week head start on orders.
Don't close this thread. Seriously. I'm sick of seeing threads invaded by "OMG WHY ISN'T MY PHONE HERE YET I ORDERED IT 5 MINUTES AGO!!!!" in ALL threads. We need a place where we can get USEFUL information without having to sift through all the whiners that are pissed that they have an order gone through already.
I swear, when they open up purchasing for Canada, I'll buy one and I'll be patient as hell. Because it's massively irritating...
Koraboros, please keep the OP updated if you can.

That's pretty much why I created this thread. All day I look for updates and then open up a thread and it's all about people who've ordered already and are just wondering if their phone is going to be there either today or tomorrow

Well that's the real question... if the US is looking at 4-5 weeks for their current orders, all of these phones come from the same manufacturing plant right? I'm beginning to think perhaps the agreement with LG is just not allowing sufficient stock to be built to cover the demand of the US, much less the rest of the planet.
That's why I'm saying I give them December - but I could quite possibly see them essentially blocking international sales for the next few months and only focusing on one region. Complete speculation here - don't take this as any sort of fact please.
With that said, I found this interesting: http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-4-gets-high-demand-status-ebay
Are any international stores planning on carrying the Nexus 4 like T-Mobile in the US?

Nice article... just brings to light the misjudgment on Google's part to not have a reasonable limit per order in the first round...
As for international stores I think O2 in the UK will carry it? I'm hoping Best Buy or Future shop will carry it as well but I doubt it since it's not locked to a carrier.
I won't be patient, but I'll at least try not to moan
OP, it would be good to move the original "round 2" op inform to here...no need to include n4checker
I also think it might be helpful to indicate the country when one posts any rumor or speculation given the fact this is an international thread. Just a thought.

Two German stores will have them. Both of them have preorder option.
Waiting patiently until the Nexus 4 shows up in the UK.
I really hope it's going to be the next week, however, from all the rumors it seems like it's 13 December.

13th is just when o2 lose exclusivity and other carriers can offer it, three will be overcharging for it then.
Play store doesn't have this restriction its just a matter of when Google get their finger out.

You mean when reading the thread title? Hmm maybe re-labeling the thread to something like "International Round 2 Support Group?"
Woo 13th for UK - even if only a rumor, at least it's some info. Good Luck to the Brits, wonder if any other countries have dates?
Edit: I think I misunderstood what you were sayin Adam, my bad!

No worries. This is my support group. LOL.
I saw I guy selling a 16GB for $650 on Kijiji yesterday and now this guy selling FOUR 8GB units.
And here we are with nothing. Annoying.
That's my angry post for the week. No more until next week.
Added a link to Expansys.ca. Looks like they have it for pre-order.

Leave Twitter - move to Mastodon

You've probably read it too: Elon Musk, the new sole owner of Twitter, wants to monetize the existing accounts: hence it's time to switch to Mastodon, IMO.
Mastodon is the largest decentralized social network on the Internet. Instead of a single website, it's a network of millions of users in independent communities that can all interact seamlessly with each other. No matter what interests you, you can meet passionate people who post about it on Mastodon! Join a community and create your profile. Find and follow fascinating people and read their posts in an ad-free, chronological timeline. Express yourself with custom emojis, images, GIFs, videos and audio in posts

Mastodon is open-source and has an elegant, well-documented API that is available to everyone. Make your own app, or use one of the many third-party apps made by other developers!
Requires Android 6+ ( API 23 )
As a centrally operated service, Twitter – in contrast to decentralized platforms such as Mastodon – can be censored. Tweets can therefore be deleted, both by the author and by the platform operator.

Basically it's rich jerk owner with outdated technological concept vs leftish wannabees with decentralized approach.
Generally I prefer federate systems just I fail to see the benefit in either:

Did that mistake once with facebook. Very glad I left. Such social media is for companies and morons.
Isn't it?
Or is it?
Personally yesterday switched from Twitter to Mastodon because for me the most important thing to note about decentralized social media as Mastodon is that it doesn't consist of one central server. Many of the biggest social media networks out there today, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, are all centralized, meaning one core authority holds all the power over the network.
Decentralized social media outlets have a very special characteristic: multiple distributed networks can exist within them. This means that individuals can choose which network they'd like to join. Any user can create their own network, allowing for individuals with similar interests or ideas to connect.
These platforms use a system of governance instead of the word of a few individuals - or only one like Elon Musk - to make decisions. Users can vote on things to have their say in how the platform progresses, instead of having to go along with whatever the central authority wants.
So, decentralized social media as Mastodon offer a fresh take on digital communication, wherein multiple networks can exist within one platform, all of which are controlled by independent servers.

Good choice! I wonder how mastodon will work out for you in the long run.
Federation works email since decades (unfortunately for spammers, too). Will you switch also to XMPP with your messaging then?
I stay on Twitter as long as people who i follow stays too.

As much as I despise social media, shouldn't you try to convince those people at least to switch to the better system?
Too often I see people I would rather admire, then I see them using twitter - instant turn off, I cringe.

My twitter usage is mostly reading Twitter and not tweeting anything. I follow large tech companies and sites so me saying "switch to Mastodon or something else" does not have any effect.
and i don't see any major changes to my Twitter usage even that owner is chanced..
So whats the difference in twitter now and a week ago? The new owner has more money and the leftist dont like the new owner.
Most twitter users do literally nothing but complaining but never take any responsibility. Thats why they need a decentralized social media. In fact you will get more and more ideological owners, but in a smaller package.
You change from a regulated big system to a non controlled small system. Thats fine but there are consequences. Its on you which matter more to you.
Anyway i dont have Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Mastodon or anything else except XDA. This gives you much time to do useful things.
Mastodon that's been around for about 6 yrs, has emerged as a potential and popular choice. The very day of Musk's Twitter takeover, Mstodon gained 70,000 new users. As of 2Nov2022, it's grown to host 655,000 active users. Of course that's only a drop in the bucket compared with Twitter's reported 450 million daily users.
Warning: Mastodon’s model comes with its own risks. If the server you join disappears, you could lose everything, just like if your email provider shut down. A Mastodon server admin also has ultimate control over everything you do: if for some reason the owner of kpop.social doesn’t like that you boosted a toot from dolphin.town, they could remove it or even “defederate” the server, which would block all dolphin toots from the k-pop server completely. A server admin could also snoop on your private toots if they wanted to – or delete your account for any reason.
IMO the new Twitter boss now faces a difficult choice. On the one hand, the important advertisers are not very enthusiastic about the idea of seeing their messages next to potentially extremist, offensive or otherwise problematic statements that correspond to Musk's idea of free speech. On the other hand, Twitter must not only make up for its losses, but also bring in the interest if it does not want to finance the service out of its own ( Musk's ) pocket. Musk will have to pay a price – the only question is which one it will be.

For me personally I'm not leaving Twitter (at least for now) reason for this is because people like XDA still use it and it's harder for me to live without Twitter as long as my favorite content creators still use it.

Isn't this what these "companies" calculate with? That nobody makes the first step and tries to convince the others to follow...
I'm not using twitter, facebook, instagram, linkedIn, whatsapp (please name the rest), and I don't miss anything. And why do I only visit the portal when the forum goes "offline due to maintenance" (gratefully the bugs that made that regularly to occur a few weeks ago are fixed)? This is the reason:
Ive never suscribed to any newsletter, maybe its time to start...
Uhm, so twitter (and the likewise centralized alternatives) is worse is worse than mastodon (well, in a technical sense, not many people will disagree on this, I guess).
How about the next step? Going away from servers and use something p2p-like...
I know only of freenet (tried it eons ago), are there any other solutions?
I really don't know what's going on with Twitter right now, and I can tell you that there are a few others who can tell you that there are others who know it well. somehow the influence of musk is really different in how it's being made at this point. I can tell you that there are others who consider staying on the bird app simply because it's convenient. but then again, not everyone moves until they're affected, but I really couldn't recommend the mastodon if you want to do that too. just make sure you have even more options to consider.
