**How to activate full 3G coverage in US (t-mobile/att) - LG G Flex

I got F340K (F340L also tested) unit from Korea. Which is supposed to work everywhere on 3G in US T-Mobile (and on AT&T I guess)
but I faced with problem when the phone almost everywhere stuck on 2G. The problem located not in APN settings. We just need to manually enable write bands
How to fix it:
1) Type in dialer: 5457#*340#
2) Click on: Band selection.
3) Mark on: LTE B1 (2100), LTE B3 (1800), LTE B8(900). Do not touch other marks.
4) Press: Save
Phone will reboot. Now you got full 3G coverage everywhere you go.

Awesome! This is good to know

I'm so sorry..I'm really new to this and I think I had the same problem as above when I purchased an unlocked LG G Flex phone from Hong KOng and try to use it on ATT when I return to U.S. and that the speed is really slow when I had my apn on HSPA+ with the following info
APN: phone
mssc: UNABLE TO SHOW
mms proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
mms port: 80
mcc: 310
mnc: 410
apn type: default, supl,mms,hipri
apn protocol: ipv4
The question is what is a "dialer" and where I put it on the phone? Or other things I need to know to fix my problem please?
Thanks!
larry

What about g flex l23? Any solutions or codes ussd or mmi? I type that code and says invalid code.

[Q] Milestone xt701 not connecting to 3G need pro help!

Alright, this is the deal, I bought a Motorola XT701 from Amazon, international unlocked version which is supposed to work with HSDPA 850 MHz 3G radio, which is the one that Kolbi ICE (Costa Rican carrier) uses for their GSM 3G data same as AT&T, however, the phone doesn't seem to be recognizing the 3G network, it just displaying the "E" for EDGE at the top, I have seeing the G (GPRS) a couple of times, but I have never been able to get the 3G network to be recognized, this is what I have done:
* Went to Kolbi and activated the 3G data for my phone, confirmed they support this phone.
* After noticing that my phone was not connecting to the 3G network, I took out my SIM and stick it in a iphone 3G and worked like a charm it was super fast on the 3G network, I put it back in my phone and just connects to the EDGE network.
* Entered in the phone *#*#4636#*#*/ phone information and it says that: GPRS service: Connected, Network type: EDGE
* For the option to Set preferred network type: GSM auto (PRL) is the only option that seems to work right
* When I press the menu button under "phone information" screen I get one option that says "Select radio band" when I select this option I get a window poping up saying "Set GSM/UMTS band, I get many different options but the "Automatic" option is the only one that lets me select, all the other options (including USA Band) I get set [xxx Band] Unsuccessful
* I made sure that the option for "Use only 2G networks" is NOT checked
* Made sure APN settings are the right ones (Name: ice3g, APN: kolbi3g, MCC: 712 (preset), MNC: 01 (preset))
My phone is currently running 2.1 eclair and is rooted.
I DO NOT WHAT ELSE can it be done, if I take my SIM card and put it in another 3G phone works just fine that tells me that the problem is not with my provider, so I have the following questions:
How can I check which band is my phone using for data?
Is there a way to make my phone use the 850 MHz data 3G instead of others?
PLEASE HELP, I love the phone but I want to use the 3G data, if not possible I will have to get an iphone (not my first option).
thank you,
Marco
You're positive that you didn't buy the 1700/2100 mhz model?
Sent from my Milestone XT720 using XDA App
The only thing I can think of if your phone is indeed not a 1700/2100 mhz model is to google "APN settings" for your particular provider. I know even unlocking my fathers Motorola Milestone (locked on Telus in Canada), my Rogers sim could not connect to 3G until I went into Mobile Networks->Access Point Names and manually wrote in the APN settings.

Thanks for the reply, I triple check the APN settings with my provider and they are pretty basic just: Name: ice3g, APN: kolbi3g, MCC: 712 (preset), MNC: 01 (preset), nothing else.....but I have an update, today for some reason the phone displayed the "H" for HSPA for about 10 min and the phone worked great for those 10 min, then.... it went back to the "E"...no idea of what is going on here.... I did not change any settings... just happened... could it be software related?
so guys i did i little checking and i found this for the xt701 3g problem on 850 network go to this http://modmymobile.com/forums/4005997-post58.html and they will explain everything you need to make it work

need help with my p1000 on at&t

I'm running the overcome jupiter rom on my p1000 with an AT&T sim. I've tried the jk3, jpz, and i9000 modems and none seem to allow me to use data or voice. I'm a little new to this and just wondering what else I should try. Thanks for the help.
Can the international tab receive an at&t signal?
Im on the jp4 modem now and im getting edge but no 3g, one step closer but its too slow...any ideas?
You need to reflash the at&t modem.bin file...

Is your wireless mode set to auto?
Yes it is.
I have tried every one of the modems in the modem thread, ive reflashed overcome multiple times with both the at&t modem the international modems listed in the install guide and I still cant get my tab to work on 3g....sometimes i get edge but never 3g....what am i doing wrong?
and im using my at&t sim card(that works flawlessly in my captivate) in an international tab with the gt-p1000 model number and the white back
To use at&t 3g signal you need to be on the 1900mhz band, and 850mhz band. Check the built - in capabilities of your tab (google).
What are the first few lines in the APN settings please.
For the wireless mode, what happens if you set it to wcdma only (no signal, I'm guessing).
Is packet data checked?

Ok, this is the last thing I know to try.
On the dialpad *#2263#
tap [2]WCDMA BAND
Tap[3]WDCMA 1900
tap Select WDCMA _W1900 only
An astresk should be in the bracket now.
Tap the menu button, select back
Tap menu button, select end
You are back at the dialpad.
Did the E (EDGE) change to 3G or H?
I flashed JMA on my SGH-I987 and it now reads GT-P1000. My APN is set to:Broadband, and I have no username set per the original settings I had before I flashed. It wouldn't connect before I set that post flash. Now My 3G status icon switches between 3G and H but connects.
hope this helps.

Are you using the sim that came with the tab, or one borrowed from another phpne? Because the "Broadband" apn is for the sim that came with the tab. Wap.cingular is for borrowed sim cards.
Im using the one that came with the tab. thanks for the update about the difference!

Unable to get LTE connection on AT&T

My wife bought an international version of the HTC One, and I'm unable to get the LTE to work. The most it will do is bounce between 3G and H+ on AT&T's network. I've been to the AT&T store to have a new sim card put in it, and that actually knocked the phone down to 2G speed or less, and I've only just managed to get the H+ to come back.
The phone model is 801n and shows to have LTE as an option.
LTE is available in my area and at great strength on my OneX+.
Let me know if there's any other info you may need to know.
Go to phone, enter *#*#4636#*#*
Go to phone options, and there is a dropdown menu. The option you want is "GSM/WCDMA/LTE (auto)"
If that option isn't available, you may need to do some work converting it to a US version (like the Developer Edition, or Google Play edition).
Out of curiosity, go to settings>about and post what your software number is.
You can also log into your AT&T account and look at the data plan you're on. It should say LTE. If not, they haven't properly provisioned it.

Software version is still 4.2.2 and Sense 5.0.... she bought the phone off someone who moved to the US from the UK, and we haven't checked for an OTA software update yet... mainly because my wife finds it impossible to charge the phone and it's completely drained at the moment.
I guess the simplest answer was the right one... Even though I told them repeatedly while in the AT&T store to activate LTE data on the line, checking my account online show's they did not. I suppose I'll call and sit on hold for a few hours tomorrow to get things straightened out.
Hopefully it will work fine by tomorrow evening.
After spending 2 and a half hours on the phone with AT&T account and tech support, the problem seems to be that their system will not recognize the phone as being capable of connecting to their network.... that is to say, based off the IMEI number, their system doesn't even seem to recognize what the phone even is, nor whether or not it is capable of more than 3G or HSDPA speeds.
The tech support guy tried to force the LTE on to the data plan, and he said their system wouldn't put the LTE on the plan because the phone wasn't compatible.... since the system goes off the IMEI number, he didn't think converting to an AT&T or other versions would help, because their system still wouldn't add on the LTE access...... since I assume the IMEI doesn't change with the rom, correct?
I guess it's no wonder the guy was selling the phone so cheap.
On the bright side, the OTA updates came across tonight. Jelly-Bean and Sense 5.5 are alive and kicking.
If anyone has any other ideas, I'm still looking for solutions.
I struggle to believe in all that time nobody figured out your phone is incompatible with the network.
The AT&T version of the phone exists to connect to the AT&T network, which is not the same as what the international version supports.

The hardware for the international version and the AT&T version appear to be the same.. according the phone specifications, it should be able to connect.
As far as the length of time I was on the phone with them, I went through one account specialist and one tech support specialist.. both kept wanting to try something else. And then there were a few software updates during that time period, and numerous "try rebooting the phone again" and "let me put you on hold for a few minutes."
Frequencies for each market are different. They don't want to include all frequencies because the CPU vendor qualcomm charges per frequency. There in no point to include frequencies that are not going to be used by most people of each market.

Where are you checking the specs?
AT&T network supports 1700MHz AWS and perhaps 700MHz.
International One (EMEA) is 800, 1800, 2600MHz.
Do you have another AT&T LTE phone or a friend with one? If so, swap the SIM, activate an LTE data plan on the line, verify working, then put the SIM back in the One and see if the change sticks.
That's what I would try anyway. Also, when you enter *#*#4636#*#* on the phone and go to phone info, what option is set under "Set preferred network type"?
Another thing to check is your APN settings. For that, go to settings>mobile data. The Network mode should be set to "GSM / WCDMA / LTE auto" in there. Next, click on "Access point names". Hit the menu button, and select "New APN". Here's the settings to enter:

Those are the settings in my HTC One Developer Edition on the AT&T network. Now it is possible that that the LTE frequency for us is not enabled on that phone. I haven't used the international software on my HTC One.
Seems to me this issue should have a somewhat simple resolution. But I'm no expert. It is possible to convert it to an AT&T or Developer Edition (which was designed to work on AT&T networks) by going S-Off, changing the model ID (MID) and customer ID (CID), and flashing the desired software (RUU file). The big difference between the Dev and AT&T versions are having the AT&T sh*tware pre-installed or not.
As posted earlier, the hardware inside is the same.

Here are the frequencies the phone is capable of though.

Wife and her phone are out of town until tomorrow.... if I can pry it from her hands when she gets back, I'll slide my sim card in and see if anything happens. Otherwise, I'll check the settings you posted and see if anything needs to be changed and if that has an affect on service.

Reverse that. Put her SIM in your phone (assuming you have an LTE device), then see what's what.

It can't really be said what frequencies the 801n supports, because there are multiple versions of 801n. What's the MID we're talking about?

[q]Get LTE on TMobile

I have an unlocked Att Active and I was curious if there is a method for enabling lte on tmobiles network. More specifically metropcs but I believe either way should work the same. any insight is appreciated.
If you are on 4.2.2 stock MF# you can follow the guide here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2441211, but if you updated to 4.3 official ML2 then I'm not sure if it will work. I know it works because I got my phone to use LTE on Tmo via this method but I have yet to update to 4.3 because I don't know if I'll lose LTE capabilities.
On my second Active now and I had LTE on the first one last year for only a few hours then it just never ever worked again. Here's what I'd suggest:
- make sure you have a brand new T-Mobile or MetroPCS SIM card as older ones may not be able to access the newer network bands that T-Mobile and MetroPCS are using (since T-Mobile owns MetroPCS now), get your info transferred over to a new SIM card and work with that first off
- use the *#*#4636#*#* code to get the phone info menu, then make sure it's set for LTE/GSM auto (PRL) (and also hit the Menu key and make sure the Data connection is enabled)
- under Settings - More networks - Mobile networks - Access Point Names add the following as a new APN if you don't get it showing up by default with the new SIM if you do get a new one - on my second Active now and a brand new T-Mobile SIM only a week old the only APN that shows is the older epc.tmobile.com one (note the name I just typed is accurate, it doesn't use the hyphen):
Code:
Name : T-Mobile LTE
APN: fast.tmobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN Type: default,supl,admin,dun,mms
And then of course actually select that APN for use with LTE - once you do those steps the LTE should kick in almost immediately if you're in an area where T-Mobile or MetroPCS actually have honest to goodness LTE service. If they don't (meaning it hasn't been refarmed or it just doesn't have it period) then the phone will fall back to HSPA/HSPA+ mode as needed (because you have it set for LTE/GSM auto (PRL) operation).
So far since I got this second Active it's working great and I've had no issues at all with LTE speeds around 30-35Mbps in testing and HSPA+ speeds around 28-32Mbps which is damned fast enough for me.
I still keep the phone in EDGE mode most of the time, go figure.
Hope this helps...
I unlocked mine with unlock code. Lte works out of the box. It is the same with note 2. A lot people talking about enable tmo bands and this is not necessary...at least for me here in PR.

Thanks
i don't understand how to do it
can you take screenshot from the access point pleas
thx i will try it and feed you back
i hope that works as i tried every thing from sim unlock using NV to de-branding but nothing works
Hi I seem to encounter the same situation, cannot get data for sim unlocked GSM for Sprint HTC10...here's some background info. I have 2 HTC10 purchased about 1 year ago (Phone A & B). At time of purchase I performed the NV sim unlock and verified data (freedompop att) on both.
Phone A (BL unlocked/s-on/factory recovery) is on stock Sprint ROM and GSM data works perfectly by adding the custom APN settings. On latest build.
Phone B (BL unlocked/s-on/twrp) is main phone was shorty twrp when purchased, ran BadBoyz rom for about a year on Sprint. Recently added FP sim back in & it would "show" to HSPA via signalchecker but mobile data could NEVER connected (even w/apn settings). Same SIM would work on Phone A. Had Sprint push out sim unlock just to be safe which was done successfully, same issue. So i thought maybe something screw up and RUU back to latest and still had same problem. Factory & network resets didn't fix either.
Been reading on the forums and seems like other people have the same issue, the only solution that I've seen mention was to flash a custom rom (non-Sprint?). Anyways after flashing Leedroid, it did finally worked, had mobile data attached via apn.
Anyways any ideas from anyone why mobile data GSM will not work/attach on some sim unlocked phones? I believe I returned Phone B back to factory but it behaves differently from Phone A.
