4.2.2 yes!

Maybe a naive question, but did anyone try the android kitchen porting tool already? I mean the ROMs dont differ too much, are both still JB and even for the "same" device. I am currently short of time, because of my bachelor stuff, but if we get it going this way, we could at least see, where we need to start and could start debugging/using tgis new stuff

Guyz I know a very talented DEV but he doesn't have the device his xda name is @szezso If you contact him he'll be very helpful especially in kernel stuff He's also extremely friendly

How were you able to unpacked the system.img? I just downloaded T110XXUANC1 odin tar, extracted the system.img & I'm unable to view the contents thru several of my tools.

The one you introduced:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552435&highlight=deodexed+lc1
It's a self-extracting archive for Windows. Someone should have explained that; as I'm cautious of downloading *.exe's too.

It seems self extracting exe only.

I guess many people don't have 5830i....(only Indians have it though as the phone was released only for India..)
So wait for a while...most of the 5830i users ain't rooted and it will take time for the users to find your post. I wonder why Samsung released a different regional version of the phone..it isn't a good concept(for devving atleast! ).
If you have deleted the file by mistake, you can always use Odin to reflash the rom you are in. You can get the firmware file of 5830i from sammobile.com...
Or if you want, I can send the file you want from my s5830 if you want.
IMO...it will take some time for you to get the file..!

How do I flash a rom in a .rar file

Yes Iv'e used the search button but I still can't find an exact answer.

You sure that the ROM is in a .rar file? Maybe you have the wrong file, because I think this link for the ROM and it isn't compressed in a .rar file, it's on a normal .zip.
The link you post is for another version of the rom.
The final edition is in a .rar file... http://www.mediafire.com/?96lczfm20959kgn

Extract that .rar file to your computer, you will get 3-4 files in that. Some are for ics layouts and 1 is for file manager.apk.

[ROM][9.1.A.1.145]Odexed & Deodexed[10/09/13]

Hi all,
NoobTW requested a flashable zip of this firmware and I went ahead and made it. Decided to drop it here because it will probably get more exposure here and more people can enjoy it.
I'm an LT30p user myself so I can't do much in terms of support.
Just wanted to give you this to spark some interest in building your own ROMs and get you going.
Use dsixda's Android Kitchen, once you learn to master it, you're on your way to becoming a ROM Chef.
Please don't ask me for any updates or new features. This is provided "as is".
Feel free to use this as a base for your own ROM as long as give me some credit and link to this thread
Atteched you will find the update-binary and updater-script for reference
Make a full nandroid backup and make sure you have the ftf handy in case of emergency.
Made from the FTF Jozinek provided here
ROOTED (Chainfire's SuperSU 1.25 & busybox 1.21.0)
DEODEXED
Zipaligned
Kernel included
Download
LT25i_9.1.A.1.140_root_deodex.zip - 494.12 MB 1.Dev-Host 2.Android File Sharing 3.Android File Host
MD5 Sum: e69e28710b063d7c1d259d062143bb00
I said I wasn't going to update but I was helping out @whalesplaho with some stuff and decided to build it anyway. Please test this and let me know if it works. Also, I need to know if the kernel has been updated for this firmware, I can make a zip for it if needed.
LT25i_9.1.A.1.145_root_deodex.zip
md5: ed6a4db5fd1abb55ab313dd69f2657c2
Maybe this is more to your liking. Totally unmodified (odexed, no superuser/busybox, kernel not included).
LT25i_9.1.A.1.140.zip - 487.03 MB
Kernel (flashable zip)
LT25i_9.1.A.1.140_kernel.zip - 6.67 MB
LT25i_9.1.A.1.145_kernel.zip - 6.67 MB
Locked bootloaders need to flash this after the ROM: CWM v6 flashable for JB Thread by davidmarco
Unlocked bootloaders: flash DooMKernel to get recovery back.
I see you made your own thread
This is very useful.

You don't have to because it was included in the deodexed zip but it doesn't hurt if you do.
If you would test it I would be grateful.
There have been several downloads and zero feedback.

I have no idea, try reflashing or redownloading.
Already did, went back to stock firmware and nothing appears, load it again and I have the stuck pixel only in 60%+ brightness (always using 10% no problem for me).

Thanks! Been using this for testing purposes, have flashed it quite a bit with no problems at all. Works very nicely just as stock. Would be perfect if the initial zip had recovery already but that's just nitpicking
I'm having a play around with the ROM in the OP using dsixda's kitchen, but as this is the first time I've tried this I need a little advice.
1. When in the kitchen, it wants to change the updater-script to an update script, can I just go ahead and do this ? Or does this step need a XV specific script? I'm confused as to the relevance of the script added in the OP and if I should somehow be using that.
2. Is there a list somewhere of the bloatware (is this only apk's) that can safely be removed ? I can't find one.
Many thanks
Don't change it to update-script, it will mess things up when changing back to updater-script. Best you can do is unpack the ROM to a folder in the root of the kitchen and put WORKING_ in front of it. Just use the kitchen for building the ROM zip.
There's no definitive list of bloatware but if you Google "xperia bloatware" you will find the most common ones. The rest is personal.
