Description
Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources & Google Sources
and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps.
This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with PA/AOKP/CM features and some cherry-picks.
Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs.
If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there

Per-app PIE color
Since we're using Per-app color now, let's use it for PIE as well.
Fix layout of MultiWaveView and GlowPadView.
If the calculated size of the rings is much smaller than the measured
size (which is happening e.g. on mdpi 600x1024 tablets), the glow pad
appeared shifted to the right.
This happened due to the insets being calculated as difference of
available and needed size, and later on being added to the available
size. Example numbers (Nexus 4 with density forced to 160):
- computed size in onMeasure: 768x505
- scaled size in onMeasure: 505x505
- thus, insets are calculated as 131/0
- in onLayout, placementWidth (364) and max target width (108) are much
smaller than width (768)
- thus, center is calculated as 131 + (768 / 2) = 515, thus shifted to
the right
Fix that by not using width in the calculation, as the inset size
already takes it into consideration.
LockScreen: Fix crash when unlocking twice
This will keep track if the BroadCastReceiver is registered and
will unregister it only if so.

EthernetDataTracker: Set network available on connected
This change fixes state mismatch found in the bugs below,
and makes the code look consistent with disconnect().
In startMonitoring(), reconnect() is called before mNMService.registerObserver().
Then dhcpThread.run() could finish without getting interfaceLinkStateChanged() callback.
In such a case, mNetworkInfo has connected but not-available state - which is contradictory.
FW: Fix Menu Overflow Disable Option
The three button Menu Overflow would display no matter what setting was seleted within ROMControl, this commit makes a slight change to correctly return a result that reflects the users selection through ROMControl.
I had to enable then disable the option for it to function correctly (no reboot required)
Remove opaque check in preparing dirty region
Since preserve swap is enabled, we need to clear the color buffer
when the scissor rect is prepared for a new process. This prevents
garbage being present from the previous process in the color buffer.

SystemUI: show date on 2 lines in status bar
This allows showing of the full day of the week, and removes
the blank space above the date (which always felt strange to
me when clicking it to access the calendar).
It also fixes a spacing issue on smaller screen devices that
causes the quick settings button to be partially chopped off
when the AM/PM clock settings are enabled.
Fixed an accidentally dot showed in some languages (for ex. US english)
Bluetooth: Fix MAP accept threads sometimes spinning endlessly.
Randomly (under no obvious precondition), the MAP access threads spinned
endlessly after enabling BT, because mServerSocket.accept() always threw
IOExceptions, probably because the actual socket was already closed.
This change makes sure to exit the thread when that happens to not waste
CPU cycles and battery power.
This tracks similar changes done to the BluetoothPbapService and makes
sure to follow the (working) PBAP flow.
Fix a number of issues with T9 dialer.
- Fix an ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException (like reported in
[1]) which happened when highlighting the last digits of a number and
the number had additional characters after those digits.
- Fix another potential ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException due to the
highlighting code relying on normalNumber being a subset of number,
which wasn't the case due to number being additionally sent through a
formatter. Fix that by running the formatter before normalizing.
- Fix number highlighting not working if the number match occured at the
end of the number.
- Fix number type label & formatting not being updated on locale
changes.
- Fix T9 search not being triggered when pressing the dial button to
recall the last dialed number.
Remove DEBUG to avoid to run checking at every turn
Needn't to run storage checking in DEBUG mode at every turn,
it will make "DELETE OLD MSGS" always be checked in Mms Settings

In some situations the collection.sort() algoritm fails in compareTo()
with a: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Comparison method violates
its general contract!, due to a more strict validation of the compare
contract.

Step to reproduce:
Do this test on a Tablet (i.e. do in multi-pane layout)
1. Settings > Date & time > Uncheck the Automatic date & time checkbox.
2. Select 'Set date' and set the month to January and Done.

Reduce observers in SystemUI: StatusBarIconView
Currently, for each status bar icon view there is a observer that
listens for changes of STATUS_BAR_NOTIF_COUNT. With one
notification usually having one or more status bar icons
you may end up easily with 10+ more observers for ~5 notifications.
With this commit the internal observer class becomes a singleton.
This means there is now only one observer for all status bar icons
and additional binder calls on new notification are avoided.
Reduce observers in SystemUI: KeyButtonView
This is based on the work by Jens Doll for the StatusBarIconView
The ContentObserver class will be a singleton, so there is only
one observer for all buttons.
On my Nexus 10 it reduced the observer count from 48 to 4.

New HTC phones like m7 have special settings for BTSco CSD device

Vol rocker wake is n/a.
However, you can go to settings > Device Option > Touchscreen > Wake Method and choose one of those 3 options.

the preset *86 for voicemail isn't working and can't be changed.. voicemail notification doesn't work only issue so far but can be a deal killer...any help!!!

Go to Hybrid Settings > Apps. Under 'Changed Apps' touch to open, move the slidebar to the right to increase the dpi, touch the check mark at the top of the screen. Repeat this for all the apps you want to enlarge the font size, close and reboot.... good to go.

FAQ and Know issues:
when probam in black turn on , the systemui make force close
try to switch off black ui then restart and try enable it again
after dirty flash the device hangs and systemui make force close
you need to make wipe all and clean cache and make fresh install in this case
when try video recoding the device freeze or slow down
screen video record with ondemand or pegasusq governors u will have a laggy recorded video. If you try with performance governor from performance in settings , then the video will be a lot smoother.
Camera crashing some times and not works anymore "camera not connected"
the rom included an small application "camera restart" you can use it for fix this issue
titanium recovery not restore my applications
For those who cannot find their previous files, because CM based rom will target the sdcard storage to use root/0/ directory.
So normally all the files besides the root/0/ directory will not be shown on the file explorer.
To solve this, you will need a file browser that has ROOT capability, eg. Root Explorer
then go to mnt/shell/emulated/ all your file should be here.
Now move all the files into mnt/shell/emulated/0/ folder.
Should solve the problem.
Privacy guard IS working?
after enabling privacy guard in security settings
you have to switch to settings>apps and then choose to enable or disable each app individually.
I'm sure nobody would want to tick every single app, that would almost be the same as enabling airplane mode.

reporting bugs:
1 - report your bug in the forum of your device and see if other people having the same problem :crying:
2 - try to solve it with all the knowledge you can get :silly:
3 - if that doesn't work go to our support center and place your findings there, report your bug and which device you have , this way it goes straight to the developers
4 - only report a bug if your really sure it's not your own fould! --- clean install , stock kernel , no weird home manufacturing stuff ,etc,etc,

Battery drain Issue
I recently flashed this rom. In terms of speed it was very snappy and fast:good:
But the BATTERY Drain was very fast my phone would last only 8 hours when on other Roms with same usage it would last 14 hours approx.

SMS bug !!!
I instaaled this rom its great in terms of speed and battery performance not bad at all but i get this strange issue in sms !! messeges i recieve show in conversations normally but the ones i send are shown as big blank space next to my contact pic > tried data wipe ,cache and dalvik but didnt help
can hear your opinion what would help me please ????

Go to Settings -> Interface -> Status Bar.
Uncheck the Double-tap to sleep option. (Y)

Hi, is it possible go incorporate CHN stock rom touchscreen driver in to the rom? The screen jittering is killing me. Thanks a lot ya

maintain this thread
make weekly builds
discuss with us about features and things like that
of course you have to own the device
so some experience in android building is a must , and time to do this

Not sure why go keyboard force stops sometimes .Not sure if the problem lies with the rom or the app itself. The boot animation is not the correct size.

Is there setting to change led light trigger area?? I would like to change only when touching softkeys.

Installation instructions so If installing for the first time:
To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked boot loader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed
1 Copy the downloaded AOSB to your phone.
2 update recovery, is required for install android kitkat
3 Boot into your recovery
4 Back up your ROM
5 Enter recovery
6 Make full wipe "included "system"
7 Install the ROM
8 install GAPPS package
9 Reboot - the first boot can take up to 2 minutes
10 Recommended to Reboot again after ROM is up for the first time

FAQ and Know issues:
when probam in black turn on , the systemui make force close
try to switch off black ui then restart and try enable it again
after dirty flash the device hangs and systemui make force close
you need to make wipe all and clean cache and make fresh install in this case
when try video recoding the device freeze or slow down
screen video record with ondemand or pegasusq governors u will have a laggy recorded video. If you try with performance governor from performance in settings , then the video will be a lot smoother.
Camera crashing some times and not works anymore "camera not connected"
the rom included an small application "camera restart" you can use it for fix this issue
titanium recovery not restore my applications
For those who cannot find their previous files, because CM based rom will target the sdcard storage to use root/0/ directory.
So normally all the files besides the root/0/ directory will not be shown on the file explorer.
To solve this, you will need a file browser that has ROOT capability, eg. Root Explorer
then go to mnt/shell/emulated/ all your file should be here.
Now move all the files into mnt/shell/emulated/0/ folder.
Should solve the problem.
Privacy guard IS working?
after enabling privacy guard in security settings
you have to switch to settings>apps and then choose to enable or disable each app individually.
I'm sure nobody would want to tick every single app, that would almost be the same as enabling airplane mode.

1 - report your bug in the forum of your device and see if other people having the same problem :crying:
2 - try to solve it with all the knowledge you can get :silly:
3 - if that doesn't work go to our support center and place your findings there, report your bug and which device you have , this way it goes straight to the developers
4 - only report a bug if your really sure it's not your own fould! --- clean install , stock kernel , no weird home manufacturing stuff ,etc,etc,

After first boot while downloading apps from PlayStore phone got freezed but after hardbooting it's working flawlessly. Thanks for your great work.
Reason:
OTA is buggy, when I start downloading Gapps from OTA App, the whole system freeze and phone doesn't wake up again, have to restart by hardware buttons.

Well, for as a fast check, everything looks to be working good.
People, the DSP force close is a common bug in many ROMs. Just disable it @ Settings > Apps
(Pic says "Enable" cuz it is disabled)
Then, install Viper4Android (DSP on steroids),
reboot and Voilà!

Can't send MMS on G900T using stock messaging app. Always force closes

To install this ROM you will need to have an unlocked boot loader and a custom Recovery such as TWRP or ClockWorkMod installed
1 Copy the downloaded AOSB to your phone.
2 update recovery, is required for install android kitkat
3 Boot into your recovery
4 Back up your ROM
5 Enter recovery
6 Make full wipe "included "system"
7 Install the ROM
8 install GAPPS package
9 Reboot - the first boot can take up to 2 minutes
10 Recommended to Reboot again after ROM is up for the first time

FAQ and Know issues:
when probam in black turn on , the systemui make force close
try to switch off black ui then restart and try enable it again
after dirty flash the device hangs and systemui make force close
you need to make wipe all and clean cache and make fresh install in this case
when try video recoding the device freeze or slow down
screen video record with ondemand or pegasusq governors u will have a laggy recorded video. If you try with performance governor from performance in settings , then the video will be a lot smoother.
Camera crashing some times and not works anymore "camera not connected"
the rom included an small application "camera restart" you can use it for fix this issue
titanium recovery not restore my applications
For those who cannot find their previous files, because CM based rom will target the sdcard storage to use root/0/ directory.
So normally all the files besides the root/0/ directory will not be shown on the file explorer.
To solve this, you will need a file browser that has ROOT capability, eg. Root Explorer
then go to mnt/shell/emulated/ all your file should be here.
Now move all the files into mnt/shell/emulated/0/ folder.
Should solve the problem.
Privacy guard IS working?
after enabling privacy guard in security settings
you have to switch to settings>apps and then choose to enable or disable each app individually.
I'm sure nobody would want to tick every single app, that would almost be the same as enabling airplane mode.

1 - report your bug in the forum of your device and see if other people having the same problem :crying:
2 - try to solve it with all the knowledge you can get :silly:
3 - if that doesn't work go to our support center and place your findings there, report your bug and which device you have , this way it goes straight to the developers
4 - only report a bug if your really sure it's not your own fould! --- clean install , stock kernel , no weird home manufacturing stuff ,etc,etc,

MINOR BUG : Settings doesn't respond (closes)
Go to settings>battery>Low battery warning>
if disabled then setting closes or else it works fine..

I love this ROM, i've been using it for a couple of days now and it's Awesome
one thing though, the ROM doesn't read my phone number in settings>about phone, and because of this, security and anti-theft apps like theftie can't read the phone number and become useless. is there a solution to this problem?
also a suggestion for development is to include in rom (pictures2sd) which is xposed module to enable the camera app to save the pictures in sdcard instead of internal memory. i've used it and it's working perfectly.

EDIT: After a week of using this ROM i think the customization level is unbeatable + its buttery fluid.
But i did encounter some problems:
1- Random reboots
2- Touchscreen stops working randomly
3- WiFi Cant connect sometimes

hey i recognize some bugs in ROM:
1) whenever i import contact from storage....the error comes popping window unfortunately process stopped and the contacts autokills and homescreen appears directly.
2)i also got a bug of AOSB keyboard when i change the keyboard to any other......the process stopped popup appears.
3)for may of the application i got the popup unfortunately process stopped.
4) Charging taking much time to charge from 0 to 100 approx 2.30 hrs.
plz fix this bugs ....the most imp bug import contact bug from which i cant sync contacts from external card.
