Need Help. - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My sony xperia z will not power on anymore. If i connect it to a charger, it shows the sony logo and keeps restarting. When i connect it to my computer not much happens. SUS can detect it and i tried updating it, it downloads and installs and tells me to restart my phone but still nothing happens and the same thing as before happens when i connect it with a charger.Sony PC Companion app does not detect the phone.
So i tried flashing with xperia flasher and i downloaded a 4.3 stock rom, flashed it but then at the end it says usb debugging mode must be enabled but i do not think its enabled, nor can i check since my phone does not power on.
Please Help!!!

Did you try to hard reset it? Try to press power and vol up.
What to you mean with xperia flasher? Download a .ftf file and use flashtool

sorry meant FlashTool. i did flash and it completed it successfully but when i tried powering on, nothing happend. so i connected to charger and the sony logo loop restart happen again. it said at the end of flashing that usb debugging must be enabled so i think that may be the problem why it did not work.
I have tried hard reset. It vibrates once, pauses and then vibrates 3 times and then nothing.

I know, but I wasn't sure if you tried it with the repair method. If you just plug your phone in to the pc, it won't recognize it. But when you use the repair method, pcc tells you to power off the phone, and bring it into flashmode

When I open up pcc and select "Support Zone" - "phone / tablet software update" - "repair phone" it'll ask what phone you have, then you select it, it will download the firmware and ask you to power off the phone and plug it in while holding vol up

nvm, found out how to do it. Completed it but it still does not work.
Is it cause i need at least 50% battery? If so, is there any way of doing so? because if i connect to wall charger it does the sony logo restart loop and when i connect to pc it goes in mtp mode.

I don't think it's because of your battery level..... I'm sorry, but I can't help you on that....
I think you have to send it to sony for repair. As long as you haven't modified anything on your phone they should repair it
Edit: Before you send it to sony, try their chat, sometimes they can help

If you dont know bootloader unlock, its most probably its locked. Grab an ftf and flash with flashtool. Usually update service works.

I have done that before so that means it should be unlocked.

my xperia t dead need help!T_T

hi! i've bought my xperia t today
it goes well! i've connect it to my pc, and pc companion find an update and ask me if i want to update my phone
i said yes, and it tried to install the upgrade, but about the 75% it gives me an error
and from this moment the screen of my phone turns on and off every 5seconds
with a black screen with the white sony's logo and the pc doesn't recognize him and no led turns on
after about 2hours the phone turns totaly off
i've tried to turn on with the power button and the volume down hold
and the red led flashes for 3 times
if i hold down the buttons while connecting to the usb or to the charger,
the red light stays on and after about 15min it turns in to green and a black screen with sony's logo appears for about 20 minutes
but no leds are on and if i plug it to the pc or to the charger nothing happens
sometimes if i hold down the 2 buttons when i plug it to the pc the led turns on green and the SUS recognize it
and tries to upgrade system but after a few minutes the phone seems to turn off and the upgrade fails
what i have to do? probably the phone needs to be charged before being upgraded
but if i plug it (at the pc or even at the charger) with the 2 buttons holded down the red led turns on but after 15min it turns green and the sony screen appears and freeze
if i plug it without holding down the buttons no leds turns on and i'm not sure if it's really charging or not...
any sugestion? thanks

But why did you try to upgrade a phone out of the box?
Oh well... My suggestion is to take it back to the shop. Tell them you bought it, connected to PC, followed the prompts to install PCCompanion and then it faulted.
Soon, we will get stock .ftf's posted here that you will be able to flash in flashtool, but that sounds like a bad phone. If the fault was staright from the box, take it back.

OK, but if there is a problem with the phone, no amount of flashing will repair a bad board or a bad chip....
I will post a stock vodafone UK .ftf here this weekend, then you should be able to flash that (Using flashtool, first post in the dev section) to repair your phone. But i do advise that if your phone id faulty from the box, its a hardware issue not software..

You need to turn on usb debugging. It's under settings/developer options. Should work after that. Good luck!
obviusly i can't turn in debug mode as the phone don't turns on!
after a night plugged to the charger (no leds on)
today the phone don't do nothing...
no flashing red led when i press any button or any sequence
only turn the red led when i hold down the 2 buttons and plug the usb or the charger
but when i release them all turns off....
Have you tried a factory reset? You should be able to do it via Android stock recovery and that might rollback the corrupt upgrade.
Worth a try.

[Q] Help. might bricked my phone.. what to do?

was flashing dogslys relock bootloader FTF with flashtool found in the Q&A here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903137 .
flashing went fine according to flashtool.. now though, i cant turn the phone on, only slight little vibration and a flash of green notification led appears.. then nothing, when i plug it in the pc again, it is instantly staring up in flash mode, green led on. and after 30secs it turns it self off then on again, constantly connects and disconnects in flash mode..? what can i do?
Repair phone using pccompanion.
Or flash a srock ftf in flashtool that you can download from the all in one thread
These are the usual steps to take on a soft brick
how do i use the repair function in pcc? nothing happens when i plug it in, guess that have to do with flashmode?

yes, open up a command window where you have adb and fastboot installed on your PC.

By definition a hard brick is not recoverable.
OK, try this.
Code:
adb devices
and tell me what that says.
Also, download and install flashtool from the first thread in the dev section. Open the driver folder from the installation path and run drivers.exe. Choose flashmode, fastboot and TX drivers.
Then run flashtool and attach the phone, disconnect and try attaching in flashmode, disconnect and try to attach in fastboot. Then copy and paste the output from flashtool here.
One final thing, try to attach again in flashmode but this time do this.
Press and hold volume up, attach USB cable, keep pressing volume up and now press the power button. Hold both buttons for 10 seconds or until the green LED comes on. Tell me what happens.

Help - I can't access my phone

I wanted to have a more secure phone so I thought it would be a good idea to encrypt it... wrong. I waited around 40 minutes for the device to fully encrypt then I went to decrypt my phone and it doesn't decrypt and instead just reboots and asks to be decrypted again. I have tried the sony update service, followed all the steps and when it tries to install the s1 bootloader it fails instantly.
I really need to access my phone >.<

It literally just starts up like normal and then goes to decrypt your phone screen.
Okay this means it is not bricked but just stuck.
Turn off your phone and connect it into Flashmode (Plug in cable and hold power down untill you see a green led) to your computer.
If I'm right windows (I assume you are running windows) will start installing drivers. After that reboot computer and follow my tutorial again
