Does HiD gamepads work on the M8 without custom kernels? - One (M8) Accessories

I currently have the M7, and it's not working nicely with bluetooth gamepads due to Sense not being that friendly with bluetooth. I remember when I bought this M7 from a guy from craigslist almost an year ago, he traded his device for my S4 because the bluetooth wouldn't play nice with his car audio.
I'm going to make my next purchase this week, and it's going to be the S5 or the M8, although I'm more inclined towards the M8.
If the M8 doesn't support gamepads without root, it's going to really be a dealbreaker because I love playing emulated games while taking my 1 hour bus ride to work/to home every day.
Additionally, I've read from a post that BT keyboards which didn't work with the M7 work with the M8, so I'm raising my hopes up.
I have a Phonejoy Play that I received from Kickstarter, and I'm looking forward to use it on my next device.

Recommendations for Headphones?

My headphone adapter for my MT3G recently stopped working, so I'm going to buy a new one soon, but I figured I might as well get a new set of headphones as well. Would you guys know of any good quality headphones? I'm interested in in-ear bud headphones with a built in mic. Also, would you guys know where I can buy the MT3G 3.5mm adapter? I found one on Amazon, but it's requiring me to buy the headphones with it.
Also a white pair of headphones and adapter is what I'm looking for, since I want it to match my MT3G color
Thanks in advance.
What sort of budget are you looking at? More and more highend in ear monitors (IEMs) are coming out with inline mic versions.
I don't really have a limit on price as of now, but if you know of one of equal quality, as the ones that came with the MyTouch 3G, or better. Send a link my way

Alittle pricey but companies tend to charge a premium for models with inline mics. You know, because of iPhone users...:-/
There are cheaper from Ultimate Ears too. Shure also offers a couple of models with inline mics.
Lol, that's a "little pricey"? I guess I can set my budget at about $40 then. If I can't find another I'll probably have to buy the ones that come with the MT3G.
Heh... Thats why I asked if you had a budget.

These aren't half bad, their actual price are $39.90 (you have to add to cart to see the real price). These are on the way out as a new model just came out which is why they are fairly cheap.
Lol I didn't think headphones would cast that much, except for ones built for reasons other than usage on the bus. I might get that last one you showed me, it looks promising for sound and all that, but I don't know if I want something that will break in a few months thanks for the help though
bluetooth
Motorola S9HD. Had a pair (until my daughter broke them). Used everyday for work/gym/home. Music and phone calls. $99 @ Best Buy.

Hello, my name is.....

Hello All!
New to Android, but not new to hacking mobiles.
Palm devices in middle school and high school. Original B&W iPods (hex editing using ipw) and every iPod through to iPhone (Including internal hardware mods like rerouting the DAC) - high school through past college.
Got sick of the Apple games they play with developers and haphazard code systems (rather than doing good drivers, just kept it to a bare minimum of working - see bluetooth section especially when it comes to "bitrate grouping" and "real time operations"). Played with Android, thought it was awesome and put in preorder for Evo when came.
One of the Best decisions I have ever made! In fact, so good that I am getting my boyfriend to buy one (we will be on the same plan - 25% Company discount ). Now my brothers and cousins and aunts and uncles want one too after playing with it for a few hours. Best part, google is never going to send me angry letters or freak out about a rooted phone, heck they might even encourage it.
4G Coverage is great by me (5-6MB) so I can kick Comcast to the curb (terrible company) and everything on the phone just works, doesn't keep crashing. Everything just works, especially hooking up to my car setup and various automation tools. Games are not as good (ChaosRings), but who buys a phone to be a PSP? It is a tool!
CURRENT TASK - IR Universal Remote for Android devices (other lossless capable players with a headphone jack can too). Hopefully will be able to make it into a learning remote, but the problem is getting it to record in at a lossless or very low loss, then cleaning the signal and modulating onto stereo at 19k/channel. If someone really knows encoding, help is appreciated and it would be a free program of course! just sick of loosing remotes....and the hardware piece can be put together for $6 worth of radio shack parts or $1 using a broken remote and a trip to the dollar store.
NEXT TASK - Get a working USBhost for EVO that allows use with USB Touchscreen (lilliput model) for the ultimate Car Docking and control station.
BTW - congrats Sven on getting a USBhost for Nexus!
So well..... Hello and Nice to meet you!
And your name is??

Cheap BT Controllers

Cheap bluetooth controllers that are advertised to work for the PS3 can be had on eBay for $10-$30. However, is there a reason any compatibility issue should arise?

I don't want to spend $50 on a Sony controller if I don't need to.
IDK about those, but I personally use the tablet bluetooth controller from GameStop and it has always worked great

Just FYI, Sixaxis Controller doesn't (yet) work with 4.2. Hopefully it will soon.

I too would love to use my Sixaxis controller on the nexus 10.
So, do you think it's likely that it will gain support? Part of me was afraid that it is simply incompatible.
Be careful. In the past I tried ordering a lot of cheap PS3 bluetooth controllers, and really most of them were 2.4ghz infrared. I don't get why they do that, I think it might be a misunderstanding by someone who doesn't speak english as a first language and assumes bluetooth and wireless are synonymous. Also, those 2.4ghz ones can work for computer or PS3 because they have a dongle that lets them pair, but it looked horrible and didn't want to work with my phone (I think that was when I was using my GS2)
Gotcha. Funny how in the description for the more expensive controller I posted states it is 2.4GHz wireless, and bluetooth in a separate sentence. Going to message the seller just to verify. Otherwise, I'll probably grab a Sony controller or the tablet one during Black Friday sales.
Also, I'm aware SixAxis doesn't work yet. However, the developer stated he is working on a fix. I see no reason for it not to work with 4.2.

black friday sale, too with promo code SAVEFRIDAY gets you 20% off. probably the cheapest one you'll find.
There's also the pro if you want a bigger controller: http://www.nyko.com/products/product-detail/?name=PlayPad+Pro

Vizio Bluetooth Headphones (XVTHB100) - $35 shipped! - Good quality, I have a pair

Hey guys, just figured I would share my findings for this morning
http://1saleaday.com/wireless/
(Note: that link is only for today, because the contents on that page change daily)
I have these headphones for the past year and I love them! Not sure if anyone else wants a pair or not, but I paid $120 for them when I got them, so I'll be picking up a pair to just have a spare set for a price like that
I have NOT used them for listening to music with the Note 2 yet, but I have used it with my computer and with my old iphone via bluetooth and work great. I have picked up a few calls and spoken through them several times with the Note 2, but no music playback as I simply do not have any music on it lol
Tiger direct have them for 29.99 shipped

Get your Bluetooth controller before the crowds

Forgive the cross post from another forum site, just helpful info for those interested...
So I was at my local Target, and my local Best Buy is next door, couldn't resist going in to play with my future phone (got home delivery). Not much hullabaloo happening, but did play with the VR. Great experience, can't wait for my own. But a heads up, I grabbed the one steelseries status xl Bluetooth controller left on the shelf. The 2 minutes I was playing with the VR was enough to realize a controller is going to make the experience much much better. And once the hoardes of new VR owners realize the same it may be hard to find a controller quickly. But then again, there's always Amazon.
Maybe a non issue, but seeing only one I the shelf with a lot of empty space made me think of grabbing it now.
Now I just need the darn phone and gear! ::deep breaths:::
Which controller is that and how much?

It's in the original post: steelseries stratus xl. $59.99
seems to have good reviews compared to others
Already got one that I've been using with my Apple TV for a while so happy I ain't got to spend more money! Lol. Good to know, thanks for the info.
I bought a Mogo Pro used at a game store for $20. Works great.
Picked up a Nexus Player controller on closeout on my way home the morning after getting my Edge. So far so good!
