[Q] X8 after rooting & factory reset, stuck on "desktop"

So I got myself into really funny situation I'm stuck.
I worked with xperia mini pro everything was fine.
Now I got x8 well older one... And all i did was rooted it with flashtool.
Everything was working fine from that point with root rights like root uninstaller (I just tested didn't deleted anything).
And then I made "factory reset" Deletes everything from sd card and bla bla bla well you guys know what i mean.
After that I wanted to install kernel but it's not that easy. So I first read alot and did not do that. Since it would require bootloader unlock and thats pain with 11W29.
So just after factory rest somehow I bricked my phone...
But it's interesting brick... VERY INTERESTING.
It turns on, it has flash mode. I can update it via update setup and tried to do that.
Nothing helps all I get is :
phone loading normally, then there is no menu, not sony ericsson home, not go launcher, no settings available no nothing...
To explain my problem i will upload screenshot.
And I can't flash it now since it's not bootloader unlocked.
And I can't access anything from phone.
This is what you call hard brick?
Hard brick is when You can't turn on phone, so there isn't any way to install ROM again. In Your case it's strange soft brick, cause it looks like ther isn't any launcher If You can enter into flash mode than You should reinstall stock ROM and kernel using flashtool (with version 0.2.9.1 cause it's more stable with older devices, such as x8).
Its not bricked. / You can use android commander to push recovery.
It's stock already and I tried stock launcher via updatesetup of SE,
And I think i need bootloader unlock to flash it ? or I'm wrong.
And Later on i will try with older version of flashtools
thx for answers guys.
No, unlocked bootloader allows You to install custom kernels, but some ROMs works also with stock SE kernel, so You don't have to unlock bootloader to install custom ROM or back to stock ROM
So i'm back again on same problem....
I have a Question if you wanna flash phone from flashmode u don't have to have unknown sources and debugging turned on.
Since i can't do that...
My following actions :
I will try to install fresh win7 32bit, since now i'm on 64 and on this system i was working with mini pro xperia, so maybe that may be the case...
I'll try to flash it with older version of flashtools 0.2.9.1 I guess if i remember it right (but on this windows OS It gives me : Error Flashing. aborted)
And I installed flashtools drivers and everything i'm 100% sure of that.
What I tried :
I also tried flashing it from Linux / ubuntu . same as with windows i get :
Error flashing. Aborted.
PCC gives me error when i try to repair it.
Update Service Dose everything as normal but same problem remains I don't get launcher or something just that empty desktop
And I would love you guys if you would give me few links to stock firmware of
x8 11W29 / E15i
And if you have something else to suggest please help me ;D
Hello, sorry for necroing thread but i have exactly same problem like OP, and as he didnt post solution i would like to ask how to do it.

Hello and thanks for your reply. I tried flashing my x8 with provded ftf file and the problem still remains the same. If it is any help i can normally increase volume, access emergency calls and keyboard and other things. But the screen remains blue. And i also remember that the thing which is supposed to appear here is the language setup, if there is any way to set up main language outside android system i guess that could help.
Again thanks for your reply and your time!

Try Flashing a Costume ROM for stock kernel via Recovery.
Here is a list of ROMs. Just make sure you download one that says (Stock).

Xperia T won't unlock/stay in fastboot/flash mode/MCAFEE pwned it

First of all, I don't have any knowledge on Xperia phones(Nexus 4 user)(had unlocked a se xperia neo v once but it pwned my brain)
Secondly, this idiotic 15 year old installed Mcafee and doesn't remember the password. I tried rebooting into recovery and doing a factory reset but it turns out Xperia phones don't have a recovery(??) (lame)
Thirdly, I clicked on 'forgot pin' on mcafee app when xperia boots, but it says I don't have an internet connection. THEN HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RESET THE DAMN PASSWORD?? (The sim has 600+ mb data)
Fourthly, oh my god who the hell uses such crap apps if they cannot even remember a password?
I think I got it. Managed to reset mcafee security but it won't get past lockscreen. And the kid can't explain through the phone(it's the son of my friend's friend) Thing is I will get paid for fixing it and installing CyanogenMod. So, it's urgent for me.
Maybe I could try using Google's own service for remotely wiping data? I will tell m friend to ask for his gmail, but the faster the better. I can't stand unresolved things.
I will try Sony Update Service with the LT30_9.2.A.1.205_CH.rar thing
Wow you guys are fast, thanks for helping! /s

No root and I don't believe the kid has enabled usb debugging. Plus, I cannot get past the screen pattern as he cannot explain it (he's Ukrainian and I'm Greek, so I need my friend to translate) I have downloaded the Sony Update Service but it doesn't list Xperia T under the devices. I also got an .ftf file which I don't know what to do with it.

By sony update service do you mean Sony Pc Companion? when i broke my T(rooted) without access to recovery and, before i learned about flashtool i used Sony PC Companion's support zone to repair phone and install stock ROM and so i had to root my phone again. If this DOES work for you here's the link to Flashtool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746 or you can download DooMLoRD's easy rooting toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333577 . for rooting purposes. Hope this helps :good: Oh and keep the .ftf file, it''l be required if you choose to use flashtool after rooting
Ps. to enter Flashmode you have to keep holding down the volumeDOWN button while you plug in the phone.(Not sure, But the GREEN LED light will lightup. for fastboot it's the opposite, VolumeUP button.(BLUE LED) might have mixed up the buttons )
PC companion couldn't work because I couldn't get pass through the lockscreen pattern. The tried explaining it when my friend first contacted him but he didnt make any sense, he said. xD
I tried flashtool and downloaded latest firmware, everything worked awesome! I have disabled some apps as well as mcafee so he won't do the same mistake again. Thanks guys!
Back to my Nexus 4 goodness, oh my god that was a nightmare compared to samsung and nexus. xD
heheh, Glad i could help Bro

[Q] twrp bootloop

Hi everyone, I'm not sure this is the right section but I don't know who I can ask to...
I have an issue with a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.
I was trying to root it and apparently something went wrong. The phone is stuck in a loop. When I turn it on the screen gets black, than there is the SONY logo. Black again, SONY logo and so on. So in othetr words, it doesn't turn on anymore.
So i tought it was a good idea to do a factory reset, but when I try to access the recovery mode, there is another loop. The TWRP loop.
Something like this:
In the comments there seems to be a solution for the samsung phones, but I haven't found anything related to Sony.
Can someone help me? Has someone had the same problem?
Thanks
Had it when i tried cm12.1. Flash old kitkat via flashtool, root and install dualrecovery and then ur phone is back to life
Great!
Do you know where I can found a guide? Because I don't really know how to do that!
Thanks again!
-----------edit
Actually, i figured it out and the phone is perfectly working! So thank you very much. Now, I would really like to root it but not without a good guide. Do you guys have any faq that I can follow?

Need to hard reset EXPERIA E1 D2500

Hi all..
So got my son he is only ten yesterday a phone not a new phone as he is 9 really just ten yesterday so no edge or iphone6 yet lol.
He asked me will he put a pin on it I said if u wanna but he put a pattern on d bloody thing and now

Im no neeb iv had soooo many android phones at this stage my signature is a waste of time and I always
root, install custom recovery TWRP my fav but with this E1 I aint got a clue how to reset it for him.
Can anyone help cus the vol+ and power together just aint working.... really wanna get it working for
him he luvs it even do its old he don know all he wants is snapchat, facebook n he is happy.
Thanks all.
By default, Xperia E1 doesn't have Recovery installed
You need to install a recovery either from here, PhilZ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e1/general/philz-touch-recovery-xperia-e1-t2941831
Or from here, TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe.../recovery-main-thread-twrp-xperia-e1-t3323159
TWRP requires a custom kernel though.
If your son's bootloader is locked, you need to unlock it, which you can do it If you follow the steps from this thread I made: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-e1/general/xperia-e1-rooting-flashing-recovery-t3051225
If the bootloader is force-locked, you need to reflash a firmware with Flashtool, there's no other way.
If you have any doubts or questions just ask me
K but wud I need USB Debugging on? Its not like. Basically I just want to reset to factory settings.
Thx pal means a lot for any help!! This is why I luv XDA
I Dont think I can do any of tat as I am stuck on the lockscreen, i cant get into the phone he cant remember d pattern at all, tried so many combinations already. How can I reset and get this pattern off?
Yes, but to reset to factory settings you need to have a recovery installed
I don't remember Xperia E1 having a hard reset combination
I done it using the sony companion app 4 windows. Now need to c can I get network unlock, si free like ugh

Recovery mode to unlock forgotten PIN

Hi,
so i got my XZ1 compact today, started the android setup and immediately forgot the PIN to unlock the phone.
I tried to reboot into recovery for a factory reset (since its brand new, I have no data to backup), however Volume Up + Power does not boot into recovery mode (Volume Down + Power also wont work).
Is there another trick to get into recovery, maybe via USB ?

ADB's not playing nice with my XZ1C, probably due to no bootloader unlock. Is there a "Forgot PIN" option on the lockscreen?
IIRC, Sony stock firmware does not have recovery. Maybe try reflashing the phone using Xperia Companion or Flashtool?
A quick search gave me this
